Kyle? Kyle? Kyle? was made an Elder. Are you kidding me. This must be a practical joke.
Okay I suspected that because the Charmed Universe continuity was too messed up I would think that it may be hard for the comic books to make sense.
The whole storyline with Leo defeating Rennek and being rewarded by being assigned to the Charmed ones is a little inconsistence. Season one of Charmed when Leo was undercover as a handyman, his character was passive. He didn't start becoming more aggressive and defensive until season 3. That whole storyline suggests that he was a fighter before. Even when he was human and was in the war he was a medic not a fighter. It just seems forced and out of character for Leo.
Also, the elders forcing Melinda to have whitelighter powers to create the new power of 3 that are stronger then the Charmed ones. Are you kidding me? Well I'm off to read the next issue.

I know the whole issue is rather bizarre. Over all I give it a good (somewhere around 3 out of 5 stars or 6.5 out of 10). I enjoyed Melinda's temper tantrum (at least reading about it), but I didn't think the powers used in it made sense. I didn't like Leo turning down the chance to be a whitelighter, again. I thought the whole Leo/Rennek think made no sense, though I do find Rennek to be an interesting character. I don't know Kyle very well, as season seven has proven difficult for me to watch. As a result I don't know Kyle very well. Oh, and I hope that the elders plan blows up in their (the elders) faces royally. After having read issues 8 and 9, I am still playing wait and see and so many things can go so many ways and if they go one way they could potentially be brilliant and if they go other ways . . . well, we will see. So far I think that I can trust Paul Ruditis to give us a good story over all, so I play the wait and see game.

Yah I thought it was cute that she threw a temper tantrum because Piper took away her pacifier.
I do, however, like that Leo turned down the chance to become a whitelighter again. Things may have changed, so Kyle says, but they've been burned one to many times. I wouldn't trust the Elders any more either. It's someone else's time to be the whitelighter, Leo just wants to be a father and judging by the alternate future with evil Wyatt. His work took him away from his family. It's sad but it really is, the work or his family.

It's true that I don't trust the elders any farther than I can throw them, but I did like Leo as an elder. As to whether the elders have changed, well, it's back to the wait and see game. You make a good point about evil Wyatt in the alternate future, but I think it should be mentioned that Chris said Leo did have time for Wyatt. It was Chris whom Leo didn't have time for and while Chris didn't turn out in any means perfect, he did much better than his brother for whom his dad did have time for.

yah but Wyatt was evil and it was his father's constant attention for everyone else but Chris that made Chris hate him.

I'm glad that Leo isn't an Elder so he's around for his family, but I would prefer him getting his whitelighter wings back - it would be easier for him to properly train the boys (and now Melinda) in their powers.
I hate this issue - it's still my least-favorite. Of all the plotlines I hated most in Charmed, the whole idea of making Piper's family the most important always made me growl.
