No problem, we all tried to be fair and give constructive comments to everyone so I hope they were helpful for the challengers.

I think in some cases I don't think you were strict enough. For example poorly blended pieces got higher points than those which were well blended.

Maybe, but then Round 1 wasn't all about blending, it was about the images used, the way it was put together, any text, textures, etc. Unfortunately, Jenna has also pulled out of the challenge. So we are now only waiting for 3 entries.

Interview with...* Did you enjoy the challenge?Yes except for the losing lol* Do you think you learned anything from taking part in the challenge? If yes, what?Well, not really. I mean, I didn't talk to anyone for help.* What would have been your ideal task?Well, I probably would've done better with a wallpaper.* If we had another competition in the future, would you enter again?Yes definitely.* Any additional comments?Yeah. It was fun but I'm disappointed because now I know how to make AWESOME banners, but I'm already out.

Why are people dropping out? I guess it's a busy time of year and some people just don't have the time.

Yay, that's good to know and you never know, it depends how the other people do too. The prize is top secret! But what would you like it to be?

This competition is currently UNOFFICIAL, which means it's not board related. So, the judges cannot promise you anything like board skins or banners for THIS board.

That is understood! It would be nice for one of the judges to make a banner and avatar with U.C.G. Challenge One Champ. Or something like that for the winner...

See my wallpaper is probably like my banner/av, boring to most but that is how I like, simple. I think all the fiddly little bits I added are just going to make it look tacky. We'll have to wait and see.

© Piper Halliwell The Task:You must create a wallpaper which features the different phases/ages (for example: baby, child, past lives, etc.) of one character from 'Charmed'. The Rules:1. All work must be your own. 2. Wallpapers must be 1024x768 pixels in size. 3. You can use text, brushes, textures, etc. in your wallpaper but no animations. 4. You must show at least two different phases/ages (eg. baby, adult, future life, etc.) of just one character from 'Charmed'. 5. You can use any images of your character for your wallpaper - whether these be photoshoots, screencaps from 'Charmed' or screencaps from other shows or movies featuring your character. 6. The deadline to enter your piece for the 2nd round is Saturday 13th September 2008 - although, if all entries are received before this date, the poll will be able to be opened sooner. 7. You must PM your graphics to any of the 4 judges: charmedgirl08Piper HalliwellClare~B@MeLiSsA24@B~8. You may only submit 1 wallpaper for this round. 9. If you feel you want to redo your entry, you are permitted to do so with the acknowledgement of at least 1 judge once in the whole challenge. 10. Once you have submitted your piece via PM, you must not tell anyone else which entry is yours or describe what yours looks like until after the results have been announced. 11. These rules may change throughout this round so check them regularly. If you need help with anything or don't understand the rules just send me a PM. Round 2 Entrants:HollysFan [received - re-done entry] *Mystery* [received] Primrose Empath [received] ~.:Alysha:.~ [received - re-done entry] Jameslovespiper [received] JoshyPoo [received] Helly [pulled out of challenge] Simymonna Mrs. Barbas [received] Power~Of~Four [received] Jenna [pulled out of challenge] Nicholas Halliwell (re-did round 1) [received] Astral Echo [received]

Nicholas Halliwell - That would be a nice idea but, as Assassin Witch said, we can't really offer anything to do with this forum. Astral Echo - Hopefully from taking part in this round you feel more confident at making wallpapers. ~.:Alysha:.~ - We are only waiting for 3 people's entries now so it shouldn't be too long a wait. Power~Of~Four - Another good idea.
Just a reminder to all the entrants (whether you've sent your entry in or not) - I don't want to give too much help but just to make it clear: the task for this round is to create a wallpaper which is 1024x768 pixels in size and features the different phases or ages (for example, as a baby, a child, their past lives, their transformations, etc.) of one character ( not the actor/actress who plays them) from 'Charmed'. You can use any images of them including photoshoots or screenshots from films/shows featuring them. If you think your piece does not follow the task completely and you still have the chance to redo then you may enter a re-done piece if you want to - although, this would mean that you could not redo any pieces in future rounds. Think about it.

Maybe, but then Round 1 wasn't all about blending, it was about the images used, the way it was put together, any text, textures, etc. . I just found the link to the scores critiques (and am very happy that the three I voted for were all automatically put through to Round 2--it's gotta mean my tastes are similar to the judges, even tho, unlike them, I couldn't tell HOW the contestants whose entries I liked did such nice jobs), but this post confused me. In just about every critique, the word "blending" was mentioned, which made me think that it *was* important, and yet this says that it isn't. Or were the contestants not knocked down, even if it was mentioned that their blending was off? I'm impressed with all the artists, since this is something I couldn't do if my life depended on it--I'm too left-brained! I can't wait to see the wallpaper entries!

I'm not sure what exactly the criteria for judging was, but I'm sure the judges have something they base the entries on.
Although, I admit, I'm with Dan. I'd have scored them differently. I'm pretty sure most of my opinions were lower than the judges..lol. But oh well.

I know it says one character but was two okay. Was it like at least one character or does it have to one. For example the word character was in bold but the word one wasn't, which makes me think that it's okay to do it for more than one character?
So is it for purely one or can it be more, will it affect my score as I have two?
