Supernatural is about 2 brothers, but it's still totally different from Charmed. The brothers aren't witches and have special powers. Yeah, They hunt demons and kill them, save innocents when they can, but having Wyatt and Chris doing it is not like Sam And Dean(Supernatural brothers.) doing it.

Also, I believe that The Charmed Sons would have a less serious tone than Supernatural. The Charmed Sons would also probably have a larger supporting cast, whereas the only series regulars on Supernatural are Sam and Dean.
In fact, aside from the presence of brothers fighting Evil on the two shows, I wouldn't see all that many significant similarities between The Charmed Sons and Supernatural. I think the CW was short-sighted in assuming that they'd be too similar.

I see the similarities. The idea of "Charmed Sons" isn't bad, but like I had said before . . . it would seem like a rehash of "Supernatural" with some minor difference - like magical abilities and family history. At least to me.

Well, there is a lot of shows that are similar.
1: House, ER, Scrubs: All doctors trying to save lives. All that is different is the personalities and how serious the show is.
2: Everyone Loves Raymond, George Lopez, Married With Children, etc: Families who have issues and like making fun of eachother, Sarcastic. All comedy.
There are others, but I can't think of them right now.
But the point is, there are other shows that are similar. Why can't The Charmed Sons be workable? Because it's too close like Supernatural?
I think it might have to do with a lot of people not liking the show and so they think The Charmed Sons won't work. I'm not speaking for those who I don't know if they like it or not.
That's just what it seems like.

The one thing that might have doomed The Charmed Sons is they might have offered Kern first dibs on being the showrunner...honestly, I think a Charmed spinoff could have benefited from some fresh blood at the helm (as showrunner and head writer).

If the person in charge of TCS WATCHED the show, then we'd be good. Because it didn't look like those who worked on Charmed had been watching the show or paying attention. We need someone who CARES.

Although I've only watched "Supernatural" for a few minutes (too dark and too scary for me, the same reason I never watched "Buffy" or "Angel" and the reason I prefer "Charmed" and didn't like the "Cole the Source" storyline--and emphasis on why *I* prefer it; that's just my own opinion; I'm sure others feel differently and that's their right), they're mainly after the evil who killed their mother, right? If you had a totally different storyline, like the one in "Destined: The Charmed Sons" then the two shows would be totally different.
Especially if they kept that wonderful touch of "Charmed" humor (without letting it turn into Charmed parody as it did in the last two seasons, main reason I don't like them) when it was needed most (and as Piper's sons, they should have that sense of humor, even if S6 Chris didn't), then it would be different.
Also, if like "Forever Charmed", you allowed the brothers' sister to be part of the group, then for sure it would be different and they could have the Power of Three, even if only three sisters are supposed to have that (the reason I prefer the show be "Charmed: The Next Generation" with Phoebe's three daughters being able to control the Power of Three).

What about Daniel Cerone? He wouldn't have been any worse of a showrunner than Kern.
No, there would be absolutely no potential for Wyatt, Chris, and Melinda to form another Power of Three - - it can only be three sisters, not two brothers and a sister.
In fact, Phoebe's daughters can't even be another set of Charmed Ones, because the Power of Three can only happen in one generation.

I dont think it should be solely based on Piper and Leo's Sons..i think it would be interesting to include the children of all the Charmed Ones.. But like i dont think you would need the whole 9 of them to be there to defeat one demon..But still i find that more interesting then just the two brothers!!

Much. And hopefully you could find some really fine actors and actresses who could play the other kids and carry Wes and Drew the way Holly and Brian did.

Esmeralda, I'm curious as to the basis for your opinion; if you've never watched Buffy or Angel, how do you know they'll be too dark for you to enjoy?
Both Buffy and Angel always maintained a comedic tone mixed in with the drama and supernatural elements; there were frequently lighthearted and outright funny moments interspersed within any given episode of those two series.

Too many people if you use the entire family. Too crowded. How can you fully develop the characters that way? It would get too messy.

It's Brothers and Sisters a comedy?
I'd want the spin off to be a Drama like Charmed 1-4. With Charmed comedy, not comedy comedy. There's a difference. Different genres.

Brothers and Sisters is more of a Drama then Comedy in my opinion.. I dont know, I still think it would work though, whatever the Genre.. That was just an example of a Show that has like 8 lead roles that seems to work and entertains people without being overcrowded.. Perhaps if you dont like the whole 9 at least have more then just the 2 brothers.
