Of course, as Prue-fans we were all disappointed when our favorite was killed off. BUT if in order to keep the show fresh, SOMEONE had to die, who would you, as a Prue-fan, have wanted to see go?

I don't want to choose, to be honest i would have liked Paige to die but i know they had to kill a main sister in order to keep the show fresh. Piper is just a total no no for me seeing as she is my favourite character but it's too hard. I can't really imagine anyone but Prue dieing. The only thing i think is that they could have done it better. I mean after season four it was like they just forgot about her.

Well, it's a toss up, but Phoebe won by a five . . . as in five seasons without Prue were worse to her character than to anyone elses in my opinion. It was close though. On the other hand, Prue dying did keep her mostly out of Kerns hands. A good thing and maybe why she's my favorite of the sisters.

If I followed your logic, StoryGirl, it would be Piper--IMOHO, the last five years were much, MUCH worse to her character than it was to Phoebe's--after all, Phoebe started out acting like the baby she was and ended up like the baby she still was--just like the last five years were also much MUCH worse to Leo's character than it was to Phoebe's (besides meaning no Twice Blessed Brat or his lying, whining, murdering brother who was the true Ultimate Evil of the series because he's the one who changed the sisters--rather than Chris, his name should've been Brad!)

But my vote follows my siggy--I'm a Prue-fan who's glad that Prue died so Kern couldn't screw up her character the way he screwed up her sisters'. Thinking of his turning our Prue into the selfish self-centered shrew that Piper became because that's his idea of what the oldest should be like--a potential darklighter rather than a potential whitelighter like Prue--*shudder*

Im always half and half on this since getting rid of any of the 3 original sisters causes different circumstances.

Getting rid of Piper would have made things a lot more darker for awhile and I think had much more strain on Prue and Phoebes relationship.

Getting rid of Phoebe would have put Prue in a awkard position, while losing any of her sisters would bring her guilt, not being able to save her baby sister after all they have gone through together to fix their relationship would probably tair her apart inside.

I think if Phoebe had died the fourth season would have been a bit better and more interesting i mean Prue would feel like a failure losing her baby sister and then would be determined not to lose Paige Piper would be in an awkward position shed be really upset and probably standoffish to Paige and her and Leo's relationship would have been probably either been strengthened or hurt depending on how it went but although i loved the Original Power of 3 the best i think a Prue piper and Paige PO3 would have been very well balanced with Prue being serious and piper being our favorite of course lol and being level headed and paige being quirky lol. They only draw back to me if Prue hadn't have did Piper would have gotten more of a backbone but i love Prue and Piper so lol idk

I'm with the rest of you. Thinking of what the Original Power of Three was like and what losing either of her sisters would've been like for Prue breaks my heart for her. I've been part of writing fics where she loses one or the other and what it's like, and even adding Paige to the group just would never take away the guilt Prue would feel over losing one of the sisters she promised to protect. I think that's one of the reasons why she'll always be my favorite.

I'd rather no one died, just kept the original Po3.
Or what would have been interesting is if Prue had still died at the end of Season 3, then they spend season 4 mourning her and training up Paige, then PAIGE (with her half witch half white lighter thing) finds a way to bring her back in the season 5 premiere or the season 4 finale - but it was kept a total secret from the public until the second Prue teetered the room. That would have been the sweetest thing in the world.
And then something could have happened like, either it becomes the Power of 4, or Paige became the girls' white lighter, but a special kind of white lighter for them because she's still half witch and still a sister of the charmed ones. Then Lep and Piper wouldn't have had all the 'forbidden rules' drama and the four of them would be pretty much invincible.

If that would happen, I would ADORE if Leo gave up his wings for Piper (meaning no Wyatt in Season Five and no Chris who could come back in Season Six...) and instead Paige became the sisters' whitelighter, since all of her powers were whitelighter ones (her version of telekinesis was a whitelighter version, not a witch version, like Chris' was).

That would indeed be the sweetest thing, ESPECIALLY if it meant that Leo could never become an Elder or an Avatar or Piper's little errand boy - hopefully in a case like this, the Elders would give him an identity in this world.

Hey, I've been wondering, if Piper had died instead of Prue, how would have Paige's powers worked? (I mean if they would have thrown in the whitelighter part for the freezing, I can see something like orbs around the frozen people or something, but I can't see something like that in a Premonition)

Personally I hated Paige getting whitelighter-affected powers, so if I had my way, she would've gotten her half-sister's power exactly as it was, except I think she'd be able to make things speed up rather than explode, due to being a pacifist. If you want to throw orbs around that, fine. As for premonitions, more like than not, rather than just seeing the future, she would've orbed into the future for a short time.

I like that idea for Paige's powers. I didn't like the orbs much either, but since the writers did that for Prue's power, I believe it would have been the same for Piper's or Phoebe's

I'm sure it would've - in order to make it "new and fresh" (heavy on the sarcasm), but it doesn't make it the right thing to do.

I would have kept Paige out of the picture and instead kept the show running with our orginal set of sisters. I never really warmed up to Paige. I don't hate Paige either, but I never felt the same way about her as I felt about Prue, Piper or Phoebe. I also liked Piper and Phoebe better with Prue around.

Easy keep the originals. That way piper and phoebe stay as they should be as characters if Prue didn't die.

Yep, definitely keep the original Power of Three.
Either that or Phoebe dies rather than Prue. I think a lot of Piper's mutation could be avoided by keeping her the middle sister...not all of it, but quite a bit of it IMO.

I voted for Phoebe.  Better she died the character I liked, rather than become the character I could barely stand.

Same here.  Phoebe's character had already started to go downhill even before Prue died.  I would've rather seen her die than descend into Freebie/PhoeMe.

I wonder though had that happened and Kern was still show runner season 4 time would Prue's character have gone downhill instead of Phoebe's then or as others have said already we would've gotten one more good year of Charmed at least.
