Bummer that you missed the premiere, sweetie. But never fear -- I've got the link to the two scenes for ya. ;D
Enjoy!
Saw last night's epi too and like you, I totally felt for Naomi (which I didn't think was possible). The look on her face when:
1) She saw her dad with the other woman
2) And then when her mom admitted that she'd known that his infidelity had been going on for quite some time, but she had no intention of stopping it, said it all for me.
That girl was absolutely devastated -- and for good reason.
And Silver? Loved the storyline for her last night. She's fast becoming one of my favorites of the new characters. The idea that she was too scared to go back home due to Jackie's constant drinking and belligerance (it was a real treat to see Ann Gillespie back playing Jackie, even if only for this epi) was well-played and entirely believeable.
I never thought I'd find myself saying this, but thank goodness for Kelly. Her stepping in and getting Silver outta there was a fantastic move (not to mention, probably one of the best things she could do for her little sister). Silver needs the stability, and she wouldn't be getting it with Jackie.
Although I'm going to stick with the idea that Brandon is Sammy's dad, your theory about it being Steve is an entirely plausible one. The similiarities are definitely there -- especially in the looks department. And with it still being early on in the show, any theory goes at this point. Guess we'll just have to play the "waiting game".
Here's a wonderful posting by QTPIE41184 over at FanForum.com outlining his / her reasons as to why Brandon is Sammy's dad:

Well, what do the rest of you guys think? I know that what I quoted was only a fan's theory, but some pretty good points were made. Then again, the writers could simply be tossing us a fairly large red herring with all the clues. But since it's been reported that even they don't know who Sammy's dad is yet (which I personally find hard to believe, but you never know!), I'm sticking with the theory that it's Brandon until proven otherwise.
Enjoy!

Here's a wonderful posting by QTPIE41184 over at FanForum.com outlining his / her reasons as to why Brandon is Sammy's dad:
From the what I've been reading and the way they are portraying it on the show, I would be shocked beyond belief if Dylan was the father of Sammy and not Brandon. Here are some of my insights:
First of all, I think there's a GOOD chance that Jason Priestley is ALREADY signed on to be in the spin-off AND on tonight's episode, Kelly said that the father wanted to be back in their life, so that means the character would have to come back to do it and it would only make sense that the one that comes back is the one that is Sammy's father and, like I said, I think Jason already is. If you want to know why I say this, here are some quotes that Jason has said:
The first one comes on May 6th 2008:
Former Beverly Hills, 90210 star Jason Priestly is desperate to reprise his role in the remake of the hit series - but fears he will not be asked.
The 38-year-old actor - who played Brandon Walsh in the popular TV series - has discussed an appearance in the remake with Momlogic.com in New York.
But Priestley fears he will be overlooked.
He says, “They haven’t contacted me about doing anything yet. But if it’s the right thing, I’m certainly open to it. I loved working on that show. I loved everything I did on that show. I had so many jobs on that show, I loved it so.”
Then on June 12, 2008, just one month later, he said this:
Beverly Hills 90210 alum Jason Priestley is in talks with the CW to return to the famous zip code. Oh, but this time he'll strictly be behind the camera.
Priestley is eying a chance to direct some episodes of the 90210 update, explaining to the New York Daily News, "I think that's where I'll be most beneficial." As for the new series' overall prospects, he ventures, "I'm sure it'll be great."
I find it odd that one month before he says he's only going to be behind the camera, he was saying how much he wanted to be on the show itself.
Also, on September 2, 2008, Jennie Garth said this in an interview with Ryan Seacrest:
While [Doherty and herself] are the only original cast members attached to the new project, Garth hints that others may soon follow. When pressed by Seacrest about specifics – the deejay asked if Jason Priestley would be back – Garth offered a promising hint.
“I think it might happen,” she said.
On the other hand, this one comes from Luke Perry, and it has been the ONLY thing he has been saying:
Don't expect Luke Perry to join Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth on the CW's 90210 spin-off.
“I can’t re-imagine it currently,” Perry told The Billy Bush Show Thursday.
“It’s just not something that I’ve thought about to be quite honest,” Perry, who played brooding rebel Dylan McKay revealed. “I don’t see it happening.”
As for his former cast mates Spelling and Garth, “I wish them a lot of luck. I hope they have a lot of success with it,” Perry said.
All this tells me that Luke has no intention of signing on and Jason is ALREADY signed on for the show, but the CW is trying to keep it under wraps because they want the unveiling of the father to be drawn out more to catch more viewers That's why I think Jason is saying he's only going to be behind the camera and not in front because the show doesn't want people to know that he IS signed on to return as Brandon.
Another thing is the phone call that Kelly got in the middle of the night that was interrupted by Sammy. She was definitely talking to the father. When Kelly catches up with Brenda, Brenda mentions about Brandon saying she looks beautiful and Kelly says that he said that when he talked to her at 3AM. That definitely hints towards Brandon being the phone call that we heard earlier since it seemed like it was late at night.
Also, in yesterday's episode, she says that the father and her had a lot of history in high school. A lot of people automatically assume that is about Dylan, BUT she knew Brandon in high school too, and they might not have had romantic history, but they definitely have some kind of history. Also, if she would have included college in her statement, the debate would be over because Kelly only had a relationship with Brandon in college. It just strikes me funny that she talked about their history in school, but never after, when it would make more sense for her to say something about what happened after if it was Dylan because they got together 2 years after they got out of college and as far as we know, he is the only one she has been with since then.
Another part is about their hook-up four years ago. She said that she hadn't seen him in a while. I can't believe that her and Dylan would have broken up really quickly after they got together at Donna and David's wedding. That makes me think even more that Brandon is the father because she hadn't seen Brandon since 1998 and she saw Dylan in 2000. Yeah, it's only a 2 year difference, BUT the way she said "a while" it makes me think it was much longer than when Dylan and Kelly broke up again. We don't know how long she dated Dylan after they got together at the wedding, BUT it would definitely make that "a while" statement much more plausible for it to be Brandon and not Dylan plus I think she would have mentioned the time after high school than before if it was Dylan.
Also, the fact that Brenda is going to be so concerned about Kelly and her son in the next episode. This is the summary for the next episode:
KELLY AND BRENDA GET INTO AN ARGUMENT ABOUT THE BABY'S DADDY AND DIXON GETS A JOB IN THE PEACH PIT. Harry (Rob Estes) reveals that West Beverly's theater director is no longer able to direct the school musical, "Spring Awakening," prompting Tabitha (Jessica Walter) to offer her services as the new director, much to Annie (Shenae Grimes), Harry and Debbie's (Lori Loughlin) surprise. Tabitha's approach with Adrianna (guest star Jessica Lowndes, "Greek") doesn't go over well, so Kelly (guest star Jennie Garth) convinces Brenda (guest star Shannen Doherty) to take over as guest director of the play. Kelly and Brenda get into a heated conversation about Kelly's involvement with Ryan (Ryan Eggold) and how it may affect her son. Dixon (Tristan Wilds) is worried about the family's financial situation and talks with Nat (guest star Joe E. Tata, "Beverly Hills, 90210") at the Peach Pit about a part-time job. Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) confronts her father's mistress and is shocked when she learns the direction in which her parents' marriage is headed. Annie is still upset with Ty (guest star Adam Gregory) and agrees to a date with Ethan (Dustin Milligan), only to be disappointed by its outcome. Michael Steger and Jessica Stroup also star.
If Dylan is the father, I'm sorry, but there is NO WAY that Brenda would be THIS WORRIED about Sammy. It makes A LOT more sense that she's worried about Sammy because Brandon is the father, not Dylan. That would mean that Sammy is her nephew AND she is trying to look out for her nephew's well-being and her brother.
Also, in the promo that showed a clip from NEXT WEEK's show and NOT this week's, Brenda says something about there being a lot of history. Once again, EVERYONE is convinced that she is talking about Dylan, BUT, since we don't know the context of how she said this, she could have EASILY been talking about Brandon with that statement. She could be telling Kelly that she has a lot of history with Brandon and if he wants to be back in their life, she should give him a chance. We'll obviously find out next week what the context is for that statement and find out for sure what she meant.
Also, I know everyone's saying it will be OOC for Brandon to have left Kelly when they had a son, BUT I think I can think of an explanation for that too. As much as you could tell that Brandon loved Kelly, he also loved his work and it probably takes him all over the place. That could have been one of their issues: his work interfering with their life together. He obviously travels a lot in his work and Kelly might not have been able to take it. I know that's not a good explanation for it, BUT it IS a plausible one. Also, the reason I think this could be true is because the way Kelly talked about Walshes never staying in one place. Kelly could have been referring to the fact that Brandon was always going places and they were never together.
