I wonder if that's why. Having someone annoying die wouldn't be as touching as someone who we do care about. I hated the fact that only children and the young at heart could see the fairy in "Once Upon a Time", but everyone could see her in "Oh, My Goddess!" As for wishing Prue alive, they did - when Richard wished the Charmed Ones alive, that should've resurrected Prue, too, although as you said, we know why it didn't. Fortunately fanfics don't have to worry about such thing. One of my favorite stories used that idea: Aurora Nightstar's "Aftermath of a Wish"

Maybe it would have resurrected Prue in a scary way though if Richards wish had of came true. Like in "Buffy" when the resurrected her, she woke up in her coffin under the ground and had to crawl her way out. I would love to see Shannen act in that situation!
Es, I completely agree about the faries. I liked them so much in that episode, I wish the magical community would have all been in a similar light.

Well, Prue could do something Buffy obviously couldn't - send her astral projection. That's what Aurora has happen in her story. Prue astral projected to Phoebe and Phoebe had Chris orb her to mausoleum where they let Prue out just before she would've suffocated. That I would've liked to have seen. The best part was Piper's reaction when she realized that Prue was alive.

I just rewatched "The Eyes Have It" yesterday, and I was completely reminded of how great the gypsies were. I wish we got to see more of them, maybe see Ava use some of her Gypsy Magic!

Ava and the gypsies would've made wonderful allies for the sisters. I also wish we'd seen more of them.

I loved the gypsies as well! I however would rather they have just been witches of Romani Gypsy decent. The Warren line were from England and the States specifically from puritanical New England and it would contrasts the Halliwell's more traditional Anglo-Wicca with a different form. I just dislike the idea of creating another species without something major that distinguishes it. That is a major problem in the Charmedverse because they just added characters randomly without no thought as to how it fits in with the show's mythology.

Yes! Thank you! They never thought anything on Charmed after awhile. The Gypsies shouldn't have been another species, they should have just been a denomination of Witches. In my opinion I think Ava and the Gypsies should have gotten a spin-off lol. What do you guys think?

Charmed added a lot of things to its universe but never mentioned it then again. Urgh, this always got on my nerves!!

Exactly Kris, and I would have loved an Eva and Gypsy spin-off it could have shone some light on what Romani Gypsy culture is actually about (of course with fantasy elements) basically what early Charmed did with Wicca.
Chrisaholic a one example that bugs me the most would be Wizards they seemed to be short witches. However they could have been so much more such as making them a week form of a witch meaning they needed wands to tap into magic and their ability to create illusions was because they were too weak to make their magic permanent. The shoe could have been much more creative with everything, "Once Upon a Time" is a good and creative example of them using their own spin on things.

Maybe this is off topic but isn't Cronus from "Oh My Goddess" the Horseman of War from "Apocalypse Not" or am I just seeing things? If he is why didn't they get a new actor to play Cronus or at least explain why War and Cronus look exactly alike?

You're right. Cronus and War are the same person and being played by the same actor, naturally. lol Brian Thompson.

Charmed added a lot of things to its universe but never mentioned it then again. Urgh, this always got on my nerves!! One prime example: the Valkyries. They were training warriors for the final world battle, right? I feel like if the Ultimate Power battle had been set up to be some sort of impressive spectacle like a battle between two armies or something rather than just the Charmed Ones vs. Billie and Christy, they could've done it then. Even the Comics wasted the opportunity, really. Then again, I think they wrote themselves into that corner by being specific about it being the FINAL world battle the Valkyries were preparing for, as in the absolute last ultimate battle to determine the fate of the universe, which combined with Wyatt and Chris's future means that card's basically never gonna be played with the Charmed Ones.

Charmed had a new storyline each week, yeah it's nice when things are explained, and with mythology there needs to be some sort of background..but I don't know. It didn't bother me. The Valkyries were relevant to their episode.

I never cared for the Valkyries. I mean they served their purpose in the premier episodes to progress the plot but other than that I really didn't want to see them again. Although, in the season 7 finale when the magical creatures are fighting against Zankou's demons, theres I think 1 or 2 Valkyries helping.

The Valkyrie (which were part of S6, not S5, which this thread is about... ) were used for one reason and one reason only - to dress Holly, Alyssa and Rose in revealing costumes. Just like "Oh, My Goddess!" - so they could use the "toga party" in their ads. Hence why the Valkryies weren't used again - they wanted the Charmed Ones in revealing costumes, not the guest stars. No one took Charmed seriously when so many of the latter episodes were set up for one reason and one reason only - sell sex. A shame, since it should've/could've been the strongest storyline. Unfortunately, with the way Kern wrote them, they are four of my least-favorite episodes, the premiere of "The Perils of Poor, Poor Pitiful Piper". (I will always count "Oh, My Goddess!" as part of S6, not S5.)
