Please Read... I don't think I'm going to be a member of this site much longer. This place just isn't what I expected it to be. My 3rd day here as a member, I was insulted by veteran member ESMERALDA. We had great discussions on the forum but couldn't deal with my constant opposing views. She insults me on a thread, then without allowing me to have the dignity to defend myself, ignores me completely and sends me a private message about how she discovered the BLOCK feature and I should use it. I've done nothing to this woman. Now I get she must be respected here but that was rude. Which brings me to why I'm posting this. -This place is very 1 sided. You're not allowed to have opposing viewpoints without being called out as rude, or as ESMERALDA says pitiful. -You're not allowed to be a fan in peace of a particular character because you'll have someone who'll reticule that person on purpose. This is something I've experienced from ESMERALDA also. Every thread I commented in she'd derail topics with her anti Piper rants. Its annoying and shows that there isn't any respect here on a so called fan site. Especially since she knew I was a Piper fan. -This place is very negative! I'm not even sure why this is a fan site. Theres countless threads dissecting every aspect of this show. I'm not even sure why certain members are here either with their bias viewpoints. Theres a difference in discussion of topics and being flat out bias and negative. -You're not allowed to be a fan of later Charmed seasons. Yes they lack in quality compared to the earlier seasons, but I've visited threads where people were attacked just for saying they like season 8. Again no respect. -This place just isn't very active.... AND NOW I SEE WHY! If you want new members here, be more accepting of opposite opinions. Allow members to enjoy ALL of Charmed instead of your personal idealogies of YOUR PERFECT CHARMED. -ESMERALDA stop pushing your fan fictions on new members, no one cares for it other than established members here. -ESMERALDA stop bullying people (new members) because they don't agree with your version of Charmed. -ESMERALDA stop posting threads that do nothing but add to the negativity of these forums. Try posting something positive for once. ASTRALVISION CHRISAHOLIC IAMTHESUN *Thank you 3 for being flawless welcoming members. I wish other people here can be as nice, open minded, and great discussion makers as you guys are. You guys lead by example and its a shame I no longer want to be a part of these forums because of the biasness of other people on these forums. -After reading the conversation above, I cannot deal with more of these type of individuals. It's honestly not like me, and I love all 8 seasons of Charmed. I think members of the board often get carried away (including me) with Charmed, but I honestly think I speak for everyone when I say this: Charmed is everyone on this boards favourite show. We love it for what it is, and although some people get frustrated with certain things surrounding the show, we all truly do love it. It escalated quickly. I'm so sorry for that. Don't want to give wrong impression to the community here. I'm sorry to Forbuss (please except my apology) and I'm very sorry that I may have contributed to another member leaving QUEENPIPER. If you're reading this message please don't let my behavior or anyone else's ruin your experience here. You were a delight to speak with, or should I say read. Your posts kept conversations going. Please return and bring your delightful insights back QUEENPIPER. I read QUEENPIPER's post and I guess she felt bullied or unwelcomed by another member? My argument I guess was the last draw for her. Again I'm very very sorry. |

Yeah I seemed to have missed everything! Arguments happen easily on forums because we're all trying to express ourselves at the same time..differing opinions and all. How about trying to move on, we're all decent people and like coming here to talk about the show..let's not let this ruin it. I used to be a member of a forum that had to be shut down because of stuff similar to this happened so much. Not saying that there are always arguments here or anything..
QueenPiper I'm so sorry to hear that you're leaving (or left?) I've really liked our discussions. I know what you mean with Es..but you just have to take it with a pinch of salt. I skim over the poor pitiful Piper stuff lol.

 I'm glad you do that. It's the proper way to handle things. Well, that's why I wasn't joining in any of the discussions that she was part of - because you guys were having such great discussions. So I truly don't think she should blame me. I truly wish that such posts like some of hers regarding me would have been left for private messages, so those who aren't part of the argument don't know anything about it. It's also when I wish we had more active admins who could've/should've told her to do just that and deleted her message. Messages like that are just not for anyone who has no idea what's going on. She should've PMed me, Astral Vision, Chrisaholic, Iamthesun and the admins and the mods, to be handled if necessary. Am I sorry she left? For you guys' sake, yes. Do I feel responsible for it? No. |

She could have, yeah. But she obviously felt strongly enough about it to post it in that way. There seemed to be a debate going on anyway so I don't think it mattered. Es, try and acknowledge why she was saying those things..there was obviously a reason. I guess that to new members, you may come across as quite forceful in what you think. You make some good points too, but just be mindful of that. People will react and then this is the fallout from it.

*nods* Gotcha. I have definitely learned that lesson. I won't reply to newbies unless I agree with them. Boring, yes. But if that keeps them here...
It also makes me think of something else, something we had before but that have been taken away and personally I don't think the site has ever recovered. That's the setup of fan clubs, where the fans of certain characters can discuss their fave with others who feel the same way and not worry about the negativity of others. I remember how we Prue fans counted our fan club as our sanctuary, back when "I hate Prue" threads were among the most common ones. Now perhaps it's time for Piper fans to have their place where they'll never hear the words "Poor, Poor Pitiful Piper" again or a place for Phoebe fans where they'll never hear the words "PhoeME/Freebie" again.
Although I'd also like to see an "Early Charmed" fan club for those who love the first couple of seasons and would leave all mention of latter seasons out of it (I'd gladly be the mod of that one, making sure that there are no mention of latter seasons - believe it or not, I'd love to just discuss Charmed during the time period when I loved it, pretending that the latter seasons never happened!), and a "Cole Years" fan club, (Season 3 and Season 4 only).
Although along those lines, I'd also like to see "Trash Clubs" whose members are more than welcomed to knock the characters they can't stand to their heart's content, while fans of those characters can just stay out.
If we had stuff like that, do you newer members think that that would help the problem?

I think you should still reply, you bring a lot to discussions but maybe tone it down a bit. Oh definitely. We could do it as well, just create threads for the different discussions. On another forum, they have a thread called The Dungeon which is basically exactly like a Trash Club. But I think there was a warning for people to enter at their own risk lol Could we start a petition to bring the fan clubs back? Or something similar. I think a lot of people would like it.

Unfortunately toning it down is not something I'm good at - it's part of being extremely left-brained, which I am (I was born with something wrong with the right side of my brain...). So it's probably better off for me to just not to reply to them. If they find one of my older posts and reply to it, then I figure it's fair game. But otherwise....
Hehehehe, I like the idea of the Dungeon. That's *sort of* what the Debate threads are supposed to be like, but definitely not just for negativity.
Why don't you go ahead and put a request for the fan clubs/trash clubs in the Suggestion thread?
The other possibility is to start threads in their forum (not in the general threads) with the addition of "Piper fans only" or "Piper fans, stay out" to the title. Unfortunately, unless you have an active mod or admin who can keep people who don't follow the rules out of them, then you'll just run into similar problems.

I've been following this site for a very long time before I joined. You were always one of the most active members here. Following the recent threads, while QUEENPIPER was a member you seemed MIA. And now that shes gone you resurface. Doesn't sound right especially since you are always engaging in topics. Had QUEENPIPER remained a member after posting her comments, would you even be in here replying back? I don't think so. I actually met you both on the shout out box before I joined. I truly wish that such posts like some of hers regarding me would have been left for private messages, so those who aren't part of the argument don't know anything about it. For someone to publicly post a comment like that there had to be a hell of a reason. Reading her post it seems that you ignored her and didn't give her the chance to either defend herself or try to work out the problem. She clearly felt very strongly about what happened and the only way to get your attention is to post it and put you on blast for your behavior. Why would she private message you if she felt ignored by you? Where as ideally, this conversation probably should have been "shut down" before it spiraled out of control because quite honestly, this heated discussion just went around in circles and neither party seemed to understand what the other was saying.
On a related note, if QueenPiper is reading this, please send me a PM or email so we can try and work through this issue with the aim of getting you back on the boards.

For me season 4 was okay in parts & not so in others. It was intriguing meeting "The New Sister" & finding out who she was & watching her grow somewhat but I would've liked more than just half a season spent on that though she was good in "A Knight To Remember" & "A Paige From The Past".
Liked the fact they dealt with Prue's death more than just one episode & not left it end of season 3 as it wouldn't have felt right if they'd done that 'cause Prue was a big part of show & the sisters lives also. Holly's acting in "Charmed Again Part 1 'n' 2 & Hell Hath No Fury" were very good fully showcasing Piper's emotions towards that & not warming up to Paige etc.
Didn't like it when her & Phoebe started dismissing their charmed duties occasionally not caring about innocents or vanquishing evil
which i loved in the earlier seasons as it felt like that took away what Charmed was all about which having Prue there motivated Piper & Phoebe to do obviously so i did understand why they did that but still didn't like it though.
Thought "The Original Source" should've been the big main threat all season & then had Cole be the new Source in season 5 like thepowerofnicki previously commented or had the P03 know Cole was possessed & had them try save him prior to vanquishing him within 4 episodes of "Charmed & Dangerous" which would've consisted of "Marry Go Round, The Fifth Halliwell, We're Off To See The Wizard & Long Live The Queen where Cole would've stayed dead for afterwards." then had "Womb Raider & Witch Way Now" on as normal.
Did like the Seers tenure though & how good she was fooling Cole & the charmed ones from knowing the true reasons behind her intentions I.E getting the Source's powers through the evil baby which was enertaining to see & played well by the acting talents of Debbie Morgan obviously.

I wonder if the firestarter episode was a tribute to Stephen King.
Tyler had more or less the same powers as Charlotte in Mr. King's novel, Firestarter.
And the main Demon in the episode was named Ludlow, which was the name of the town in Mr. King's novel, Pet Sematary.

I was going to post something season four related as a thread, but seeing as this old thread is back up top, I thought I'd post this here:
I'm watching Charmed and Dangerous right now. Phoebe has a premonition of Cole jumping in the way of the Source. All throughout the episode, she believes it's warning her that Cole could die, so she should stop it happening. However, is this the first premonition to warn her that Cole is about to become possessed/be taken over by the Source's essence/powers?
This seems likely considering this exchange of lines between Phoebe and Cole in this episode:
Phoebe: I'm supposed to save you. That's why I got that premonition.
Cole: Not necessarily. You know as well as I do you're not meant to stop every premonition. Some are just meant to prepare you for what's to come.

And now watching The Three Faces of Phoebe. Does Phoebe in Charmed Again Part 1 feel like she's seen Paige before, not only because Paige has similar Halliwell features, but also because little Phoebe meets "Paige the cousin" when she's sent to the future. Even if Grams does wipe her memory when she goes back to the past, this could be why come Charmed Again, Phoebe feels like she's met Paige before. xD
