In Phoebe’s mind, how exactly would it have worked? And different how? What exactly was Phoebe expecting when she married Cole/Source? Okay, Seer tricked her into believing Cole and her son would be killed if she didn’t embrace her new destiny and the baby inside her was also influencing her decisions, but after the coronation was she really expecting Cole not to kill or have innocents killed and they could all live happily ever as a family in the Underworld ruling evil? Or even if he does kill, atleast make sure it doesn’t attract her sister’s attention so that she could maintain a good relationship with them? I’m just trying to figure out what kind of a happy future Phoebe saw in all this. How she believed she could be both a Charmed One fighting evil and be the Queen of the Underworld married to the Source of all Evil and raising their son.

That's a real good question. On one hand, Phoebe has the loyalty to her husband and her new status as the Queen of the Underworld, and on the other hand, she wants to be a part of her sisters' lives with the Power of Three and that makes her torn. Okay, the Seer was helping by the toxic in her drinks, yet Phoebe had no choice than to make a decision: be good or evil for good. We know what she chose at the end.

Yeah she tried to do both at the same time, vanquish demons with her sisters as well as stand by Cole and his decisions. She couldn't carry on like that forever. She wanted to juggle all of those roles, and as long as she did, then maybe she thought that would make her happy.

I think Phoebe going to her sisters to save the innocent and saying that it could work was really just her cry for help. I think somewhere deep inside her (even though she chose to marry Cole) she knew that it was the wrong decision and it went against what she believed in. Phoebe was the sister who was most easily swayed on account of she was born on the Nexus. It also didn't help that her that her unborn baby was feeding into that evil predisposition, AND after they got married the Seer was feeding her the tonic.
Who knows how much of the tonic she did/didn't have even before LLTQ? After all, she fed Phoebe the chocolates that made her way more willing to marry Cole.
Do you think she still would have married him without the tonic filled chocolates?

I think she might have. I know those chocolates played a part in her marrying cole, but she did it because she loved him - not just because of the tonic. I don't think she would have had the ceremony where she had it though.. In an actual church or something instead. Also, if she didn't have the chocolates, she may not have gotten pregnant, meaning less influence from little Chucky.

The chocolates were not introduced until the episode after they were married.

Oh! Well that changes everything! The chocolates were just for her pregnancy then.. Hmm.. Interesting!

Reading these comments still makes me wonder why the writers didn't allow Phoebe and the others to discover how Cole ended up as the Source. Did they really expect the audience to buy this abrupt change in the story line in order to easily accept his death in Season 5?

Probably not, but it was the easy way of taking Cole out of the show so Julian could go to Nip/Tuck.

In response to the original question Phoebe may've hoped Cole and her sisters would've accepted her being married to him overtime whilst raising her son and be charmed still saving innocents whilst not killing demons keeping both sides happy which wouldn't have worked long term anyway like Cole and Piper said 'cause good and evil didn't work like that and the fact Phoebe was evil now she would've had to have chosen a side and stuck with that which she did eventually losing Cole and her son in the process.

Probably not, but it was the easy way of taking Cole out of the show so Julian could go to Nip/Tuck. I have stated this before. Um . . . Julian McMahon didn't find out about "NIP/TUCK" until after he finished "Centennial Charmed". I suspect this abrupt change was made so that Phoebe wouldn't mourn Cole and could quickly get involved in another relationship.

Oh, I just assumed that... But if you're right then what you said now is probably correct.

Do you have a link that supports that? I'd love to share it with others who like me always thought that Nip/Tuck was the reason Julian left. If this can be proven, then I can show them that we've been wrong for a very long time - since they announced that Julian would be in Nip/Tuck.

I've seen ljones state this on the boards before, but I forget exactly where. That said, I too am interested in that supporting link for this if there is one.

I feel like she wanted to change the way things worked in the universe. She'd let her husband do his thing, and she would help her sisters save innocents by "commanding" the demons to leave the innocents alone. Maybe she felt that if she didnt get a premonition or her sisters werent involved with an innocent then she wouldn't get involved.

Best way to beat the demons is to rule over them. But as Cole said, even that was impossible cause the whole Underworld would revolt.

Had they managed to get rid of the Seer so that Phoebe wouldn't be taking that potion of evil that affected both her and her child, and then also find a way to get the Essence of the Source out of Cole, then her ruling the Underworld with Cole (and getting them to just battle each other while leaving innocents alone) while still a Charmed One with her sisters (ditto) would've made a much, much, much *MUCH* better storyline than what we got.
The show might ended after Season Four, or we might have gotten a much better storyline - Brad Kern wouldn't have had a reason to let Julian go and he may have turned down Nip Tuck, or if he didn't, they might have ended it after Season Five, which also would've made for a much-better show.
By the way, welcome , Pho - and thanks for helping me think of this situation in a totally different way - that always makes for fun.
