Since you commented on the "wisp" issue (and I was also glad that it was Phoebe and Ladybug - although I think she's grown up much too fast and it probably should've been Piper and Melinda) I'm assuming it's the next one after that one. I hadn't gotten a call from my local comic store, The Source, yet, so I didn't know it was out - haven't even seen a preview of the cover.
I'll go get it on Saturday, but honestly I've reached the same point with them as I did watching S4-S8 the first time - I'm getting them because I get them, not because I want to know what happens next. Pat Shand is definitely the Brad Kern of the comics...good ideas, bad execution.

Actually, the more I think about it, the more I wish it had been Piper and Melinda - this season is much too much about Phoebe.

It has been pretty Phoebe-centric thus far. Piper hasn't really done much yet and it sounds like Paige will be more central next issue. Yeah the latest issue Hard Knox Life just came out, it's another one shot. It's the first issue where people haven't really jumped to talk about it online as soon as it's released... so I wondered whether it perhaps wasn't that good, or eventful. Anyway, as soon as I get it I'll post some thoughts  Also, don't know if you guys have heard... but Paul Ruditis has left as editor of Charmed. |

Also, don't know if you guys have heard... but Paul Ruditis has left as editor of Charmed. OMG!!  That is very, very dreadful news. *sigh* I really didn't think the equivalent of the Season Four of Charmed would pop up this quickly in the comics, but it has. And just like back then, I wonder how much of all of this is CBS-related the way The WB had so much to do with the changes in Charmed with Brad Kern as just their hatchetman - Charmed's version of Shax as compared to the Source. LOL, it's also funny that all of the sudden it's all about Phoebe and Paige...with Cole thrown in for fun...definitely sounds familiar...*sigh* If this keeps up, I'll go ahead and keep buying the comics, like I kept watching Charmed, but I won't get the books the way I refuse to get the DVDs for S4-8, and the way I have the DVDs for 1-3, although I might sell the S9 comics on Ebay, I'll never part with the books. |

Yeah I must admit, I'm not loving it the way I loved season 9. That was a gem of a season.
Paul's departure is very disappointing. I'm wondering why he left and who will be editing from here on out. I do wonder what we'd be reading if Zenescope had kept him on as writer.

So in issue 10x10 we may find more out about Cole's father then if that's what the title of the comic states which would be nice to know definately.

Pat said that the old guy in the middle is Benjamin, the life he would have led had he not been killed. Wonder if Cole's mother Elizabeth will appear in it also? |

Read the issue, so here are my thoughts on #7 Hard Knox Life (WARNING spoilers)
- I figured the Old Ones weren't so easy to kill.
- Piper and Leo happy. Good. Last thing I want is more sniping between them, had enough of that on TV.
- I still barely recongise Knox. I don't mean that illustration wise, I mean character wise. In season 9 he seemed really happy, easy going, friendly. In season 10 he's a scowling, aggressive fella who I frankly wouldn't want to meet.
I also don't get why he talks to them as if he pretty much hates them. I know they're not always exactly the easiest people to deal with, but they got along fine and helped each other out last season. What have I missed?
- Phoebe wandering off in the middle of a crisis for her book tour and Piper making excuses for her... we falling back into bad habits here? Hope not.
"Piper: My sister has put her life on hold enough! She's going to finish her book tour and we will help you." I just... no. You know what? I'm not even going there. Nope. Nope. Nope. ....Moving on!
- Rather interesting back story for Knox and Aldar Kose. Also liking Aldar Kose's look. I like my bad guys looking demony.
- "Knox: I will die." "Piper: Uh...and that's a bad thing why?" Ah, there's that apathy towards people's lives that I love seeing in Piper... not! Again, let's not fall back into bad habits please!
- Prue is not interested in helping and that's all we see of her this issue. I really want to know what's gone on between them now. She also refers to Piper as "your wife" when talking to Leo. Interesting.
- Some nice battling with Aldar and his clones. I must say the artist Dimat is very good at illustrating magical effects. The fight sequences are very nice to look at.
- Oh good, Phoebe decided this was a priority after all. Thank God for that! Another nice use of her empathy.
- Eeesh, Knox's death was pretty gruesome.
- Piper accepts that her life isn't normal. Mercifully she hasn't done much moaning about that in the comics as far as I remember, but nevertheless, glad to see her end that character arc... even if it is the second time.
- "We have to talk about Prue" ...Agreed.
- So Gaxageal has Knox's body now. Figured.
- Looking forward to next issue just so I can own the beautiful cover! Not all that excited about Tyler, but it sounds like they'll be quite a bit going on for everyone.
Overall I enjoyed the issue. A good amount of action and unlike issue 6, I think the exposition/background and the battling/climax was balanced far better.

I got the new volume. There's nothing extra if you already have the issues really. Also, Zenescope is still using that cheap really thin paper they started using half way through season 9, which is disappointing. Somehow it just doesn't seem right to me that a trade paperback would be made of poorer materials than the issues :/

Sounds like I'm not going to get the new volume - no real need, especially since I'm not going to want to save them, the way I do the Season 9 ones. Thanks for the warning.

Here are a few pics I posted on Twitter when it arrived just if anyone hasn't seen it. It's very thin due to the paper and the lack of extras (pretty much the same size as volume 4 of s9). The amount Pat talks to fans and whatnot, I'm not sure why Zenescope didn't stick an interview in there or something. Oh I forgot to mention, there is a preview of issue 7, which I suppose would be an extra if you weren't collecting issues.  |

Nice! Wish I can get my hands on non-digital copies. And definitely Pat Shand's interviews should be a part of it too. Right now this is what's got me very interested: I did hope that maybe the comic writers would find someway to make that whole too-sweet future in Forever Charmed go away and keep the future uncertain. And after reading the latest issue, it seems it may become a reality |

And after reading the latest issue, it seems it may become a reality Absolutely. Best part of the latest issue (in fact maybe season 10 thus far) the Forever Charmed future could be changed. Hooray! ------ Otherwise I found the issue a bit meh. Looking forward to seeing more of what the deal with Prue is. Although, her presence affecting the power of 3 because of the power she has seems quite a lot like what happened last season to me. The stuff with Tyler and Kareem was sweet, I actually liked Kareem's dialogue, he could be a fun character to have around. Tyler being an archai is probably how they'll get to the wasteland next issue I imagine. Can't say I've ever been that bothered about Tyler, in fact from that one scene this issue, I'm actually finding Kareem more interesting already... but I'll see what Pat does with it, could be an interesting development I suppose. Finally we get to see a decent amount of Henry! Could be fun having him work with Coop, I'm already liking that dynamic. But boy, having them next to each other really highlighted the weakness of their likenesses. I just about made out which was which and that was mainly due to Coop wearing red and Henry wearing blue. Red for cupid, blue for cop... could be a good system if the likenesses don't improve. Prue raising a demon, presumably Kyra. Hmm. Wondering what the logic is there. I mean sure, Kyra being a seer, she may have some answers... but surely there are some living contacts she could use first that don't require dark, demonic resurrection? So far, think I preferred the first arc and the one shots. I know we are only one issue into this arc, but I honestly can't say I'm that excited for the next issue after this start. It's okay... but I don't feel all that compelled. |

Sounds like I'm going back to "The Source" to get the newest issue tomorrow...
Anyone who knows me knows I'd LOVE to find out that the flashforward in "Forever Charmed" with Piper and Leo (who cares about Phoebe and Paige after their children reached school age - Brad Kern sure didn't) living sappily ever after never truly happened.

I just wish that Paul Ruditis had done something similar at the beginning of the comics so we didn't have to get stuck with all of these kids! Right now the only one in danger of not being born is Phoebe's youngest - which would be fine with me since then it wouldn't be as likely that they'd be the ones who would end up being able to access the Power of Three - now with PhoeME as their mother, please! The only thing worse than that would be if it was Wyatt, Chris and Melinda. With Poor, Poor Pitiful Piper raising them?? No, thanks. I still would've prefer just the boys for Piper (and only beause we're already stuck with them; I'd prefer her childless); no children except the Phoetus for Phoebe and one daughter for Paige. That - three kids, with them cousins so they couldn't be Charmed - would've made the best spin-off, especially if it had been Paige and Henry living sappily ever after and having raised all three kids rather than Piper and Leo raising the boys - the best way to be sure that Wyatt doesn't turn evil... |

But has she actually gone evil or is she possessed like Cole or influenced like Phoebe in S4?
