Interesting.
I've never been that interested in the next generation, but I'm wondering if this also translates to their spot in the family - the oldest, the most powerful (Prue/Wyatt), the middle, the control (Piper/Chris) and the baby, the rebel (Phoebe/Mel). I won't do this with the second set, since they were never the oldest, the middle and the baby no matter how hard Kern pretended they were.
If this was the case, I might end up enjoying Mel.

I've found this theory interesing and in a way, it makes sense. With someone such as powerful as Wyatt, he needs a balance and this could only be his younger brother, Chris.

I never really understood the why all kind of magic(heaven, hell, earth) died on the day of Wyatt's birth. Never really bought the welcoming the magical child thing. But the all different aspects of balance going to Wyatt, yeah that would explain not only that but also Gideon crippling fear of Wyatt.

So do you guys think that Brad Kern planned on Wyatt being the evil of Season 6 even when he was born? The bit with the Crone and that coven thinking that he was the reincarnation of their leader...was he?
If that's the case, for some reason, that unicorn the Elders sent always threw me off. I always thought that meant he was supposed to be good - probably why I never accepted Chris as the good one. I always expected Chris to kill Wyatt.

The Crone scene to me indicated that turning Wyatt evil may have been the plan. As for Chris killing Wyatt, it would've been something to see if after Bianca's death Chris changes his mind from saving to killing. But then somehow someway decides against it.

If you've never read Scifi' "So Far Down", you very simply have to! It's her idea of how Chris *should've* reacted to Bianca's death. Of course, I'll never think that her Chris is Kern's Chris - but rather who Chris should've been... It's in the Cafe's "Old Cafe's Fan Fics": Scifi's "So Far Down". All Chris-fans - and especially all of those who like me aren't - should read that one.

Actually I've read it. I thought it got deleted with the Charmed Sons board. Glad it's here And this story is the kind of scenario I would've liked to see in the show.

As for the bond: It may never have worked with one being the adult and the other one a child. Only a guess here. Maybe it develops with time, hence S8 and following which we'll never see (exception: comics). Looks tell a lot, even if they're not verbal. As for the powers: It could be true that Chris is more powerful than seen in the show where he had to pretend to be a whitelighter. We shouldn't forget that fact. As a whitelighter, he mainly orbs and heals, see Leo earlier. When the truth comes out, however, we were never told how many powers Chris had/will have? They didn't let us know.

Unfortunately the rest of Scifi's fantastic stories are in the "Old Cafe Fan Fics" section and they transferered from the old one so horribly that they're hard to read. But if S6 had been more like that, it could've been my favorite season... Nah. No way Drew Fuller could've acted as well as Chris does in my imagination...

I've NEVER liked the whole "Twice-Blessed" thing. Charmed was supposed to be about female power, yet they introduce this MALE brat who's more powerful than the sisters? And, then, do a storyline about him and his BROTHER fighting against each other in the future? And, to think that many people actually wanted a SPIN-OFF about this? (Thank goodness, Brad Kern never had any interest in the idea. One of the few good decisions he ever made.)
And, on that note... (I posted this in the shoutbox, but I don't think anyone read it there.) Am I the only one who finds the "Charmed Sons" spin-off idea to be kind of sexist? Especially now that we know about Wyatt & Chris' younger sister and female cousins? Again, Charmed was supposed to be about girl power and the Warren line was supposed to be female-dominated. So, why are the strongest of the next generation male? Why do they get to be the "heirs" of the Charmed Ones and not Phoebe's daughters, who actually ARE a Power of Three?
Wyatt & Chris having a younger sister arguably makes it even worse, since she would inevitably be younger and weaker than them and would be mostly excluded from their "destiny." Charmed was supposed to be about strong women saving the day, not about weak women staying at home or constantly needing to be rescued by the big strong men. As Prue told Billy in Chick Flick, "It's the 21st century, it's the woman's job to save the day."
I've never been a fan of Grams, but in the end, I think she was right to be suspicious of Wyatt.

That so-call "crushing ability" is telekinesis. Chris is still moving objects.
Is it? I thought it was basically about a group of sisters. And isn't the idea that the show is "supposed" to be female dominated sexist, as well?

I've never been a fan of Grams, but in the end, I think she was right to be suspicious of Wyatt. Considering Supernatural’s massive success, it was actually a bad decisions Kern made. Worst was the possible Billie and Mermaid spin-off ideas he wanted. Sure I’m all for girl power, but not the embarrassing kind. Or anything which involved Brad Kern. But now with Forever Charmed revealing a sister and cousins and the two brothers formula has been beaten to death in Supernatural and many shows and even movies, I’m very much okay with the cast of six girls and three guys cousins for a spin-off. I really can’t recall last time something was focused on cousins saving the world. With the many times Wyatt turns evil, I wouldn’t mind seeing a storyline with him being finally stripped off his Twice-Blessed status like he was in the comics. And then having to deal with being normal witch. I find nothing wrong with Season 6 story-line. The execution was the problem. But that has always been Charmed's problem. Great ideas, bad execution. Fan fiction authors have done a better job of Season 6 than the show's writers could ever even imagine.

The problem with using all six of the cousins is that it would be too expensive for a TV show to have six stars. They managed it on the Brady Bunch and other such shows when they were all kids - kids aren't paid as much as adults - but I'm sure that's not what you have in mind.
In all of the virtual series roaming around, it works just fine - but not in real life.
Now an animated series, voice talent is a lot less expensive, so that would work, but I'm sure that's not what most fans have in mind.
Me, I just want a reunion TV-movie that shows what the sisters are doing 10 years after the end of Ultimate Battle - and to either make the comics canon (and "Forever Charmed" for that matter) or not. Personally I still want Piper to wake up from her 10-year coma to find out that "Forever Charmed" was nothing but a dream, so she and Leo only have the boys, Paige and Henry have one adopted magical daughter (either one of their charges) and Phoebe only has Ladybug - she left Coop as soon as she got her child, since that's all she ever wanted - she never talked too much about wanting love.
Two boys and two girls - especially if Piper was smart and bound Wyatt's powers - would be more than enough for me. Especially because it would mean none of them could be Charmed and no combination of them would ever be as powerful as their mothers.
But I doubt if I'd be that lucky.

Unfortunately, Es, Forever Charmed IS canon. It's an actual episode of the show, so, like it or hate it, it's canon.
My problem is really with that damned flash forward at the end. That could have easily been left on the cutting room floor and the episode would not be affected on iota.
First of all, that flash forward is one of the major factors that sank the Charmed Sons campaign, IMO. Thanks to the Brood Of Brats that flash forward showed us, Wyatt and Chris lost what made them unique. Now we have the Brady Bunch with magic here. YE-UCK!
Second of all, that flash forward gives a message that a woman can never be happy or satisfied unless she marries and becomes a breeding machine. What he heck kind of message is that to put out to a 2006 audience? Kern and his writers seemed to think it was still the 1950's for some reason. We already had a married couple with two children, Piper and Leo. Would it be asking too much for the series to have ended with Phoebe and Paige still single (although I wouldn't have minded if Paige was dating Henry, I liked Henry).
Finally, that flash forward has creatively boxed in all future Charmed fan fictions (and this includes the comics). Because the future of the sisters is written in stone, all writers have to acknowledge what we saw in that flash forward. You can't change anything, you can't have Phoebe dump Poop (as Obscurus Lupa calls him) because she ends up marrying the stalker (and he WAS stalking her, just like Abbey the bartender stalked Prue, but you didn't see Prue and Abbey hook up, did you, mind you they might have had much better chemistry than Phoebe and Poop did). You had one arm creatively tied behind your back and it sucked.
1. The AU route. Where you acknowledge some of canon, but jettison the rest. Not perfect, mind you, but it does work.
2. Do what I have done and build a series around two fringe characters. The Rex and Hannah Chronicles have quite a bit more creative wiggle room because R&H were not in any way affected by that flash forward. And I don't see that changing, since R&H have left Charmed behind for Lovecraft Country now.
However, those that write stories for the Halliwell clan are not so lucky.
Nope, they should have cut out that flash forward and ended the episode on the big Halliwell reunion, IMHO.

I have to actually agree with Tim on this one...
I was one of the very huge The Charmed Sons campaign supporters and I wouldn't doubt it if Brad Kern did that whole scene on purpose(actually, I'm very positive he did do that on purpose, a no-brainer) since he was completely done with Charmed and his concepts of a Spin Off absolutely sucked(I think everyone can agree with me that a Billie spin off and a Miley mermaid spin off would have sucked as well) and honestly, everything would have been better if Kern had no control over Charmed. Such a shame Connie Burge left the show.
Again I have to agree with Tim, writers for Charmed whether it's Fanfiction or not, has to acknowledge that flash forward scene. Is it fair? Absolutely not, but unfortunately, that's what Kern decided to go with, the monkey hiring writing douche bag.
But yes, it does suck that if you weren't in agreement with the Forever Charmed flash forward, you'd have to settle for AU's or a build-around to the series. Once again, I agree with Tim... They should have had a reunion type of ordeal. Sadly, I can't see a reunion update or a tv-movie happening for the series, but it would certainly be nice. So in the end, the flash forward scene was really unfortunate for some Charmed fans.
Now, I have to redirect to something very interesting I read. CharmingGirl, you mentioned that having a Spin Off about The Charmed Sons would be considered sexist? Honestly, I don't see that at all considering The Warren line has had multiple upon multiple females in the family. Granted, there were some clues to the Halliwell family tree that there were males in the family, but this was never confirmed. In fact, there is a male who is to be considered Penny's brother, but no dialogue was ever confirmed about this. So to say that a "Charmed Sons" spin off is considered to be sexist, there are references whether you want to admit it or not that the whole Power of Three female thing can be considered or looked upon as "sexism". Even the character's in the show considered the "Charmed gig as a Chick Thing" <-- I believe that was one of Holly's lines in Season 1.

Yeah, as I said that whole flash forward could have been cut from the episode and nothing significant to the plot would have been missing. Of course, I said I had a lot more wiggle room with the Rex and Hannah Chronicles, and I do. However, there was an impact that damned flash forward made to my series, which I will now relate. In my 30th Rex and Hannah Chronicles story, Future Imperfect (which I wrote to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of Charmed and the 5th Anniversary of the R&H Chronicles in 2013), I wrote Rex and Hannah as I know them now, in their present day incarnations of 2013. I was, of course, building on the years of character development R&H had been given since I started the R&H Chronicles, back in 2008. However, in that same story, I wrote the Charmed Ones like it was still 2006, when Charmed ended. Phoebe and Paige were seemingly still childless, and such. With no canon material to work with in regards to these characters, I simply forgot the passage of the years for these characters. By 2013, some of the Brood Of Brats would have already been born, yet in my story, they're nowhere to be found. Oops Since I really didn't want to deal with the Brood Of Brats, the only option was to stop having the Charmed Ones appear. Perhaps it's fitting that Future Imperfect, the anniversary story, was the final appearance of the Charmed Ones in the R&H Chronicles. And now that R&H have left San Francisco for Lovecraft Country (this happened in my 34th story, New Frontiers), there really isn't any place for the Halliwell clan in my series anymore. So that flash forward really no longer has an impact on me and my stories. However, as I said, most Charmed Fan Fiction writers who want to write about the Halliwell clan are pretty much stuck with it (unless they go with the aforementioned AU route). Miley mermaid spin off I've been wondering about that for years now. Was a pilot for this ever made. If it was, it seems to have totally vanished. No trace of it has turned up anywhere in the nine years or so since it was made. There is nothing on YouTube (and I've checked, believe me) and a Google search only brings up pictures of Alyssa from A Witches Tale. Isn't it strange that nothing of this pilot, if it was made, has shown up on the Internet. Yet some on the late lamented TWOP forums claimed to have seen that pilot. Does anyone here know anything about this?
