Maybe Chris never fully embraced his whitelighter half like Wyatt did growing up. How could Chris not? All of his powers were whitelighter ones. He was much more of a whitelighter than Wyatt was, just like Paige was. Nope, that doesn't wash. I still think it's because he didn't have enough love to trigger healing. Because did we ever actually see Wyatt as an evil adult be able to heal in anything besides fanfics?

The guy had no problem killing people and being manipulative with the sisters, plus he slept with all of the charges that Leo assigned him which to me suggest he didn't care much for his other half.

No, the only time he slept with a charge was during "Forget Me Not" when he totally forgot who Bianca was. Otherwise he showed that the only one he cared for was his fiancée, Bianca. Hence the reason why he couldn't heal.

Which shocked me in 'Chris Crossed' when we met Bianca I mean if Chris really loved her he wouldn't have cheated on her with that charge Natalie in 'Forget Me Not' would he meaning he truly must've forgotten Bianca at that time then. Dear lord.

Chris was the victim of a fickle writer. Seems his storyline was never properly thought through.
I know that Holly getting pregnant tripped them up, but you would think they would be prepared for something like that. It's not the first time a female actor has gotten pregnant, after all.

Yet in "Forget me not" all was forgotten regarding to Wyatt and with also Chris's memories of Wyatt and the future!! We shouldn't forget that. Maybe because of this he slept with his assigned charge but that's nothing new in this family. Or simply bad writing!

I think the show kinda did give us some hints that he had to be Piper and Leo's son before it was revealed. Atleast I picked up on the hints.

Apparently, before Chris Crossed, many thought that Chris was Wyatt. I didn't actually 'cause Wyatt was blonde and Chris was brunette plus the fact Chris acted like Prue anyway I thought which made me think he weren't Wyatt also.

They were saying that on the old Charmed Cafe (which is long gone). Speculation was rampant at that time. It was not until Chris Crossed aired, when it was revealed that Wyatt and Chris were two different characters, that that line of inquiry ended.

I agree with the logic in that Chris's neglected upbringing and the early demise of his family is what rendered his ability to love difficult. His father had cold-shouldered him for the precious little twice-blessed brat - Wyatt, always the gifted child, always the centre of attention that everyone veers their gaze towards out of curiosity and fondness for. Chris was the unexpected accident. The final result of a series of random circumstances involving grief, comfort, and a spark between two people that's been repressed for some time. He doesn't carry the same intrigue or potential that Wyatt did. I suppose in Chris's mind he perceives himself as the victimised underdog who is justified for distancing himself from his mother and being resentful towards the father who only had eyes for the first born, the gifted little miracle.
Since those people were taken away from Chris before they could learn to appreciate him, it's probably made him difficult to love or get close to anyone. Perhaps that could also explain his morally ambivalent actions and no-nonsense attitude. As a result of not having what could be called attentive proper role models to instill what's acceptable behaviour and what isn't into him, Chris's mentality has been geared towards believing that the ends justifies the means. Couple that with the trauma experienced in the apocalyptic world that he hails from with an older brother turned evil that has a price on his head, and you have this enigmatic character whom you can't really tell what he wants and is willing to go to any length to accomplish his objective. He's something of a survivalist in that regard.
The only two people whom you could say that Chris may have had enough positive memories about to create the healing effect are Bianca and Victor. However, couldn't the former's actions during "Chris-Crossed" have damaged his image of her, though? I mean can Chris fully trust Bianca after she abandoned their cause temporarily? She conspired with Wyatt for his benefit, but it was a betrayal of his trust and what they set out to do. Even if she did ultimately return to the original mission on Chris's side, the damage is already done. So would it still be possible for Chris to feel that sensation of wholesome love when thinking about her? He certainly doesn't have the typical do-gooder attitude that most Whitelighters appear to have.

He certainly doesn't have the typical do-gooder attitude that most Whitelighters appear to have. This definitely all makes sense, Sadrick - great job. It reminds me of a plotline I did for a story that I was going to write regarding S6 and Chris' past and what truly should've happened. It was written during the summer between S6 & S7 when everyone was writing these fics that made Chris out to be such a noble, wonderful hero when I saw him as anything but--lying, whining, murdering brat. If you're a true Charmed Sons fan, especially one of Chris, you should probably stop right here. But if time travel and "what could've been's" fascinate you, or if like me, you can't stand the brat, you just might enjoy this. And if anyone wants to write this fic, GO FOR IT. Just be sure to give me credit for the basic plotline, the way I'll give Kowa97 credit for writing "Leo's Revenge" which is in the Old Cafe Fics forum--even if he still wrote Chris as St. Christopher... The True Cause Behind It All by Esmeralda
In this version, in the original timeline, Piper saves Paige from the Titans when she comes running into the attic, exploding the Titan before either Paige or Phoebe look her in the eyes (the reason Chris remembers Paige giving him money). The sisters figure out who the Titans are really after and since they aren't distracted by Chris, Leo is able to go Up There and warn the Elders before they are murdered, so it is *those* Elders (including Gideon) who turn the girls into goddesses, who are able to vanquish the Titans with their Whitelighter's (Leo) help.
After their great victory, Piper & Leo celebrate, conceiving Chris. That’s why S6 Chris came back to that time.
What’s different?
With Leo not vanquished to Valhalla and not an Elder, but still The Charmed Ones' Whitelighter and with his family, and not distracted by wondering who vanquished him to Valhalla, he is able to pick up on what Gideon is up to and is able to bring it up to the Elder Council, who agree that Gideon's idea to kill Wyatt for the sake of the Cosmic Good is not a good one, but an evil one, and they recycle *Gideon’s* soul, rather than Leo’s as they suggested, also allowing Leo to remain a Whitelighter.
Hence, no evil Wyatt or absentee father--instead, just a jealous Chris, who feels that his Whitelighter father loves and gives attention to everyone except him, and that his father especially gives more attention to his older brother, the Twice-Blessed Child. (He's right--Leo does. Since Chris only has TK, Leo spends a lot more time with Wyatt, making sure that his older son knows how to properly handle his Twice-Blessed powers) Chris' mother is still alive, so are his aunts, and his brother is good. The only one with a problem is a very jealous younger brother, who lied when he said he was in his 20's -- he's just 14 and acts it, just like he did in "Oh, My Goddess" & during S6.
The fact that he is heavily influenced by his Phoenix assassin girlfriend -- who is the one who's 21 and who he doesn’t love, but who he started going with, because his parents, especially his father, didn’t want him to -- doesn’t help one bit. Bianca thinks the solution is easy--let her kill Wyatt.
But Chris doesn’t like that idea--he figures his family would figure it out and hate him worse. So he does something else.
And *that’s* the *first* time that Chris goes back, wanting to be sure that Gideon will survive, so he can turn his brother evil, so everyone will hate his brother and love him, Chris, instead. Like S6 Chris, he decides the best way to do this is to become the girls' Whitelighter, but unlike S6 Chris, he does it more to keep them busy chasing demons, so they won’t be aware of what Gideon is doing--Chris knows his family history; he knows it will be Gideon who tries to turn Wyatt, not a demon. So he decides to use the Titans' attack as an excuse to turn his father into an Elder, so Leo won’t be around.
Then, to be sure that his father doesn’t catch on to what Gideon is up to, as he would if he were Up There, Bianca suggests vanquishing Leo to Valhalla, which is where Wyatt has been training. Chris agrees to go back earlier, so he can arrange that with the Valkyries. He and Bianca figure out their cover story and she also uses a spell on him to make him *look* older, figuring no one will believe a 14-year-old, and Chris goes back.
However, things didn't go the way he planned (I know, so what else is new; the reason the original title to this story was "Chris Halliwell--Screwup" or even more originally than that, "Chris Halliwell --F*ckup".). First, of course, turning his father into an Elder means that Leo and his mother can’t celebrate the victory and conceive Little Chris. (I'm using a different version of time travel, one that makes more sense to me than the one used on Charmed, where you continue to live even if something happens to a younger version of yourself--it only affects that younger version, not the current version. The only time you fade is when your own future is no longer possible.)
Instead Little Chris is conceived in the Ghostly Plane, the only time Piper & Leo get a chance to be together. That’s why S6 Chris--this Little Chris grown up--came back to the time of the Titans. Only after Chris turned Leo into an Elder, putting Leo Up There telling Piper that he couldn't come back, when Leo should've been busy conceiving Chris with Piper, did the timeline change, so Chris was conceived later--the reason S6 Chris had to do so much checking to find out.
Also, Chris underestimates the Charmed Ones, who like their S6 versions, manage to rescue Leo from Valhalla. Also, like the S6 Chris, he ends up loving his "little big brother" and tries to stop what he’s put into motion, acting pretty much like S6 Chris, except he never hates his father, who is starting to distrust him for sending him to Valhalla, since unlike the S6 versions, Leo and the sisters *do* figure that out--I mean, seriously, unless they're truly, truly dense or truly, truly stupid, how could they not??
Because thanks to that visit to Valhalla, where Leo was taught how to hate and how to fight and how to kill, Leo turns evil when he murders Gideon thanks to Chris' death and it's LEO who turns Wyatt evil. When Gideon tells Leo that Leo doesn’t understand what he’s doing, Gideon’s absolutely right. (That's the line that inspried this fic idea, along with Kowa's fic.)
Leo doesn't turn Chris evil--Chris is too much his mother's son and Leo wants Wyatt's Twice-Blessed powers, so the evil father and son start setting up their kingdom while appearing to be good to the rest of the family--when it comes to family, the Halliwells are very dense, just think Cole.
However, Chris finally catches on when he's 14 and when Leo tries to turn Chris evil, Piper finds out. She tries to protect her younger son from her husband and Leo ends up murdering Piper. (That idea comes from Kowa's "Leo's Revenge".) Chris manages to escape and ends up hooking up with Bianca. When Leo and Wyatt go on a killing spree--killing the other Charmed Ones, killing the Elders, trying to find and kill Chris-- Chris goes back again, once more under a spell to look older because he's still 14, not in his 20's, trying to either save or destroy both his father and his brother.
This is why he hates his father and his brother--the father and the brother he remembers are truly evil, but he doesn‘t want to tell his mother or aunts. THIS is the start of "Oh, My Goddess." and Season Six.
Thanks to finding out that their older nephew turned evil in the future, a few months after Chris' death, Phoebe & Paige realize that Leo has turned evil, and try to figure out how to change it. They realize that if Chris hadn’t come back and vanquished Leo to Valhalla (unlike the show, they know about that; as I said, they're smarter and less dense than their TV counterparts), no way Leo would’ve been changed and gone against his own Whitelighter/Elder nature and murder, especially for someone who is a version of his son, but not his own son.
That’s when they decide to write Chris a letter, telling the tale of "Oh, My Goddess" and S6. They use the time-spell to go to the future and give it to Chris just as he's getting read to go back. Bianca talks him into reading it first, and after reading it, they both agree--even knowing that it means sacrificing himself (or so he thinks), he agrees not to go back--true heroism, because *THAT'S* when he fades, because *that's* why he has no chance of becoming the S5/S6 version of himself.
Instead, a different, nicer, non-lying, non-whiney, non-self-centered version of Chris appears, and Paige & Phoebe know that they will succeed, so they use the spell to go back to just before the Titans' attack.
By Chris agreeing to not go back, the original timeline is restored, with one major difference, the difference that allowed that new Chris to appear. Since Paige & Phoebe stuck around until after that version appeared, although they blend back into the original versions of themselves, they retain the memory of everything that has happened and are able to tell their sister and brother-in-law what could happen if they lavish all of their attention on one son, and not the other.
So Piper & Leo make sure that Chris gets just as much attention as his brother despite not being the Twice-Blessed Child, so the two brothers are friends the way brothers are supposed to be, and the Halliwells go back to fighting evil and rescuing innocents, rather than just worrying about their own family, all thanks to Chris' ultimate sacrifice.
Now that's the S6 I would've liked to have seen...it makes so much more sense with the Chris on the show over the one we see in most fanfics. Of course, it’s not true – ChrisCrossed’s tour guide (the only one I believe in S6…) proves that, but, oh, if only…

Interesting premise. It makes Chris so much more appealing as a character than how he acted in the actual show. Of course, I suspect part of his unlikability may have stemmed from Drew Fuller's subpar acting performance. He certainly wasn't one of the more memorable actors of the series.

LOL, you're definitely right about that. His acting is what made Chris seem like a 14-year-old rather than a 21-year-old. And that's so ironic - according to his website which no longer exists, the reason Fuller didn't want to play Chris in a "Charmed Sons' spin-off is he wanted to play a man rather than a boy...

I never quite understood before why Chris’s healing powers weren’t triggered when Bianca was fatally injured like Paige’s were when Henry was shot or Piper’s were when she switched powers with Leo to heal him. This analysis makes me think that it’s almost impossible for him. In Sam I Am episode, Sam first had to heal himself before he could access his healing powers to save a dying Paige. And that was only possible with Piper and Phoebe at his side pushing him to snap out of it. Chris on the other hand, didn't have nagging Piper and Phoebe on his side. He didn't even try healing Bianca who was still alive and fled to the past. But then again, Bianca was injured by Wyatt’s magic(and she was half-demon too) and Chris with his inferiority complex probably believed there was no point in even trying. Even though just seconds before he TKed Wyatt across the room and temporarily knocked him unconscious.

Just b/c Paige and Wyatt have the power to heal doesn't mean Chris has to have that power. Chris could be an exception.

This analysis makes me think that it’s almost impossible for him. In Sam I Am episode, Sam first had to heal himself before he could access his healing powers to save a dying Paige. And that was only possible with Piper and Phoebe at his side pushing him to snap out of it. Well it's as I mentioned previously. Maybe the experience with having been betrayed by this girl subconsciously changed his perception of her? Instead of loving and trusting her unconditionally, he feels somewhat weary around Bianca, even if his outward demeanour makes her believe otherwise. Sam healed himself? Wasn't it already established in previous seasons that Whitelighters couldn't heal themselves? This sounds like another contradiction in the long list of blunders made in Charmed. I don't see how the manner in which Bianca died would deter Chris from at least trying. She was impaled by a wooden stake. Unless there's something else about the incident that I can't recall.

Ah yes, their "rise from Salem's ashes". Pure rubbish, of course. In Salem, witches were hanged (and one poor soul was crushed to death between two stones), not burned.
