Well I wished we got a one year anniversary of her death and visit to her gravestone. That is something worth noting. They never brought her up or go oh can't believe its been a year already. They may have visited her grave off screen. I believe so. Still kern wanted us to forget her and a grave visit gives her a lot of mentions.

Thanks good job ES putting it all together. If it wasn't for the edit and find button, it would of taken me ages to find all Prue mentions. I'm glad its here for all fans and new fans to find to reference. Exactly, he wanted us to forget about her. But I will put more blame on Kern, as half the writing crew left, and only the ones who came in during the Paige era would not even remember Prue. So yeah it made sense. Thanks for finding this out for us west73 and Es. I wish they would have come to some agreement to contract Shannen Doherty for a couple of episodes a year. Its really sad the Shannen/Alyssa/Kern/Whoever couldn't put their differences aside for the fans But anyway, thanks for compiling. It was great to think back to the scenes using your quotes. RIP Prue. Loved hearing her name now and then!

Had they done something like that, the lack of a mention wouldn't have bothered me as much. Or if Piper had brought little Wyatt to his aunt's gravestone later on...

I'd accept a visit off-screen if *that* had been mentioned once or twice - even "Where were you?" "Prue. It's been a year" would've been more than enough. Using her doing something offscreen with no mention is like people saying they were great people offscreen or that Chris actually showed that he cared for his mother and aunts offscreen and wasn't just using them. It just doesn't wash as an excuse.

I agree, had Kern not fired Shannen, and instead parted on good terms, we could of gotten Prue back for charmed again for proper closure, and a handful of appearances. But alas he wasn't.

Very great insight. I had no idea how little she was mentioned as it went on.
Im quite curious to see how many times Grams and Patty got mentioned too. Or Cole for that matter after he left in season 5.
If Cole got a higher mention count beyond death than Prue - then Id be very unhappy. I *doubt* that would occur.

If Shannen didn't have a small part of Charmed property, she'ld never have had the right to interfere on the character, usually no actor has rights on the character played
It was a Spelling stupid nonsense, one he gives rights to an actress then he fires her, a genius!

It is quite frustrating to not see her mentioned in those later seasons. It's a series and each episode needs of time, quantity and length of words, it's a sophisticated job As I told once, following the production of a normal commercials of the agency I work for, I realized how elaborate it'ld be, think, they used a metronome to control the adaptability of syllables!

IK this is like four years ago but since our S4E22 "Witch Way, Now?" re-watch, I have to say something about this: If we're going to count this: As a "Prue" mention, then I think S4E22 "Witch Way, Now?" should count, as well. Especially with Phoebe's quote, when she says: "After everything we've lost, it just doesn't seem worth it." To me, this acknowledges Prue as a person that they lost, in their lives. With S4E8 "Black as Cole's" quote being so vague and not specific enough could even mean Patty's death to the Water Demon and not just Prue to Shax. IMO, I think the S4E22 "Witch Way, Now?" does mention (or, at the very least, INCLUDES) Prue's legacy, in this episode. I count it as a "Prue" mention.

Also, there is a Prue mention in S7E13 "Charmageddon". When, Phoebe touches the BOS, she gets a premonition of "all the losses", and it hones in on Prue's grave, with her name and everything (from S4E3 "Hell Hath No Fury") and plays a little bit of her funeral (from S4E1 "Charmed Again, Pt 1), during the premonition sequences. Along with, you can see Shannen's hands, when (for some reason) the premonitions show Piper "dying" in S3E22 "All Hell Breaks Loose" hospital scene. Now, nobody said her name, but the premonition very clearly showed us her name. I count that as another "Prue" mention, that's missing from this list. Prue HandsPrue's GravePrue's FuneralThe Whole PremonitionWhat I (also) liked about S7E13 "Charmageddon" is it mentioned Andy and NOT coming from Prue. TBH, Andy is more forgotten about, along with Cole, when it comes to "remembering" other characters that never came back. I'm kind of annoyed that Prue got WAY more mentions than anybody else who died and never came back. As Andy was one of my favorite characters, as well. He's only mentioned like 3 times, despite being an important figure, in their lives.

I believe so. Still kern wanted us to forget her and a grave visit gives her a lot of mentions. No he didn't. To expand more on this, a fellow Charmed Subreddit member pointed this link, out to me. On page 13, you'll find this screenshot 'cause direct linking to that page (specifically) doesn't work. I can even put the text, in a quote box, here, but I'll have the direct links, for those that want to look at it, themselves:And, even Holly has regurgitated the same tune regarding "having to pay" to use Shannen's "likeness", in a separate interview (time-stamped, for your convenience): In this same video, Holly expresses how Brad & Shannen "actually got along great" which would probably explain why 2/3 episodes Shannen happened to direct were Kern episodes via S2E22 "Be Careful What You Witch For" & S3E22 "All Hell Breaks Loose". She managed to direct one more episode under Kern's "establishment" (but, he still, allegedly and according to the credits, did not write this episode) via S3E14 "The Good, the Bad & the Cursed". So, IDK if that was Kern "throwing Shannen a bone" or genuinely wanted Shannen more involved than just being an actress by using his position of power to give Doherty more "commanding space". 'Cause Kern even promoted both Combs & Milano as producers for S5-S8. But, who knows? Maybe both Combs & Kern are lying 🤷♀️ EDIT: That being said, they definitely could've done more, even without using Shannen's "likeness": -Credit to Es, for the "That 70s Episode" photo idea. Other ideas:

I'm re-watching S7E7 "Someone to Witch Over Me", when Leo is on his vision quest, and the Avatars pulled him back in, it hones in on a gravestone with the following names, on it: "Halliwell - Penny, Patty, Prue, Piper, Phoebe, Paige, Wyatt and Chris". So, nobody says it, but it's a visual. Another Prue mention, to add to the list.

I decided to repeat my post from earlier because I still agree with every word. Ok, devil's advocate here, I don't think its that big of a deal that Prue wasn't mentioned much after season 5, in fact its completely natural to stop talking about a loss once you're done with your grieving. When my grandma died I was really upset, we were very close, and the first few months after it were sad and miserable, but after that I started to remember the happy memories and move on and not think of her anymore, not because I was forgetting her, but because there really was no need to keep interjecting her name into every conversation I was partaking in. I think its perfectly normal that they stopped talking about her, they have lives of their own to get on with and they couldn't just spend every episode sitting by the coffee table moping that Prue was dead, they had to get on with life and continue their "destiny" as it were. If they'd made a point to mention Prue in every episode then the show itself could have never moved on imo. You definitely have a point and if they constantly mentioned Prue as much as they did during "Charmed Again, Part One" (30 times), I'd agree with you totally. But not when it wasn't even a full year after her death (a death that was sudden; something they had no chance to prepare for) and there was that huge gap near the end of Season Four and the start of Season Five when there was hardly any mention at all. That's not moving on; that's suppressing, and that's not good for you. And, yes, I know why - we had to concentrate on Phoebe and Cole, not Prue. But when Phoebe was the Queen of the Underworld - that's so when we should've seen Piper pining for her big sister... And, of course, that's the other reason why we didn't see what we should've seen - then Piper couldn't suddenly be the big sister she never was or Phoebe the middle sister and Paige the baby. Had they continued to lean on Prue's memory, Prue would've remained the Big Sister she always should've been, while Piper could've remained the Middle Sister, the Heart of the family, Phoebe the loveable Baby and Paige the Only Child she was raised as. No, we had to make things "fresh" by totally screwing stuff up. I know I keep saying this, but it's so true. It's all why I will continue to consider S4-8 an alternate-universe spin-off where the only thing similar are the names. Besides, Prue wasn't their grandmother who they only saw once in a while - she was their surrogate mother and leader, and someone they saw every day.. I would've loved Piper to wonder what Prue would've done in a certain situation, or start calling out for her and then realize she's not there. What happened in "Hell Hath No Fury" was the start of the grieving process, but not the end by any means. And as others have said elsewhere, if there'd been more time to grieve, we might have had more time to get to know Paige and her family - her aunt and uncle and her coworkers - better, rather than her suddenly being part of the family so quickly, all done to make us concentrate on Kern's Power of Three, not forget the original and much-better set. Which is why I believe Kern never tried to get Shannen Doherty back. Once Piper had Wyatt then the fewer mentions didn't bother me that much - he was what truly helped her move on, which is why I've never let people use grieving for Prue as an excuse for her horrible behavior in S6-8 (including "Oh, My Goddess!", which I always count as part of S6). But up to that point, yes, it truly did.

Well, either Kern is lying in the article presented to me, or it's really the studio/network playing games and trying to make Charmed THEIR Charmed. Which, I agree with the latter because that's why I view S2 so vastly different from its S1 counter-part. Many fans here even agree with the P3 performances being a studio/network thing trying to promote bands and grab more viewership numbers through band promotion. And, even S3-S5 writer Krista Vernoff noticed the show's enemy via the studio/network sabotaging the show's..."messaging", if you will, according to this article:IMO, I think Kern is a spineless coward who bends over backwards for the stuffed shirts of the studio/network. Whereas Burge, Doherty, Vernoff, etc., had more bravery to quit/leave, in order to hold onto their integrity. That's what I think.

Everyone on this show has amnesia and tells different variations of the same stories. Kern has said he never invited or wanted Shannen in the final episode, Shannen says she was approached and turned down being in the final episode...these people cant keep it together.
But they were extremely lazy with how they treated Prue in death. There were so many ways to get around the Shannen of it all. Forever Charmed should've had them get child Prue instead of child Piper. They could've used child Prue A LOT throughout 5-8. Hell they even could've given us an old woman Prue from some sort of alternate reality. Could've given us someone possessed by Prue.

That's why they never really tried to figure a way to bring Prue in without bringing Shannen in. But they certainly could've and in my mind, they certainly should've.
