If Joss Whedon was not the son and the granson of well placed screenwriters, he'ld not start to work in Roseanne so young And Dollhouse is barely watchable And about obsessions, how forget Buffy and Spike, Spike and Buffy, their violent soft porn sex scene in Smashed? Fortunately I never had to see anything similar, including beatings, betweenCole and Phoebe Better the Armani suit demon than the bully vampire with leather jacket Buffy and Spike's relarionship was ment to be seen as abusive. It was clear by how the show presented it and how the narrative told it. I don't even think the writers of Charmed knew what Pheobe and Cole were. They presented an abusive relationship since the beggining of season 3, but sometimes the narrative tried to tell us that they were a healthy relationship. At least in Charmed Pheobe got out from that bad relationship, unlike OUAT with Emma and Hook.

Does anyone know whether or not Brad Kern has siblings? This is just a wild guess I'm throwing out there, but if he doesn't have any, that might explain why the sisters bond wasn't as important: he didn't know what it was like to have siblings, didn't have that experience, so he couldn't write about it properly. Constance Burge has two sisters, so she knew how to write a sisterly relationship. Writers are at their best when writing from experience, in my opinion. Like I said before, this is just a theory, and I'm probably wrong, anyway. That's definitely an interesting question, making you wonder if he does, or if he does if he wasn't close to them. He has Piper pretending to be close to Paige when you know she isn't down pretty good.

If we are to think of charmed as 'real life' then things are just the way it should be. People grow, families change, new people come and go in our lives. After 8 seasons there's only so much they can do.

Also no show stays the same it has to change at some point or the audience would lose interest.

The biggest, more glaring difference between BtVS and Charmed was that Joss really "got" his characters through and through, whereas Brad couldn't decide what personality to give each sister from week to week. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of crap in BtVS as well (most of Season 1), it's not all wonderfully dark and masterful, but at least you had the sense that the characters behaved liked real people. Charmed's continuity was poor right from the start and although Connie "knew" the sisters better than Brad did, she still wasn't great at continuity.

Instead I have always enjoyed the way it was outlined the sisters character
Of course, the three sisters follow conventional roles - the eldest as the leader, the second as the family heart, the third as the rebel- but over time the personalities have evolutions and involutions depending on events that disrupt or cheer their lives
However, the interview I reported here explained exhaustively why Billie and Christy were introduced : they were thinking about a season 9, none of the actresses who personified the Charmed Ones was willing to sign a contract, a spin off with the so wished Charmed Sons was impossible because of Supernatural
In this context the two powerful sisters destined to fight on opposite sides, Billie and Christy instead of Wyatt and Chris from Chris Crossed, could have been a good idea

No I cannot It'ld be another season written in a hurry with good ideas wasted - and maybe stolen and processed in other series I'm amazed about the lack of respect demonstrate against writers and screenwriters, almost design a season was a piece of cake, I now understand better why they were on strike for three months Now I understand why Billie and Christy were so powerful: the'ld carry on the world of Charmed, maybe in a different city and please even those who had loved Chirs Crossed introducing two sisters on opposedl front At the time I read that in the original final, Christy escaped and Billie reassured the sisters that she'ld take care of the problem, but I don't know if it was true or nth rumor

Well having finished watching the first season of Buffy this past day, I can say that it's decent. The atmosphere is tense at points and some of the underlying moral lessons that have to do with school life are interesting. However, I'm having a difficult time trying to reconcile with this lightly voiced fluffy blonde teenager being the preordained slayer of vampires and various other supernatural evils; that makes it tough for me to take her seriously at various points. The dialogue is articulated in such a quick and unintelligibly hushed manner that I find myself having to rewind the video and look up the transcript to understand what it is they're saying. You have a good amount of creativity to the monsters and the characters, but I've noticed that there's still quite a bit of cheese like with the personalities of the villains, the execution of certain scenes, and the dated sounding music. I found myself looking forward to the monster-of-the-week episodes moreso than the mythology arc episodes that centre around this "Master" character and his ilk. He just about fits the moulding of your typical mustache twirling evildoer to fit into Charmed which is understandable. I can definitely see how Charmed in S3 was inspired by this show. Cole in some respects mirrors Angel with their similarly troubled backgrounds as a former villain who is in love with the lead character and trying to redeem themselves. My opinion may very likely change as I continue into the show, but as of now my final opinion is that Charmed is still the overall better show at its own peak. Both series still pale in comparison to Supernatural, in my opinion. Funny -- Andy didn't disintegrate into a pile of ash when he was hit by an energy ball. I've often wonder what it would have been like had Christy not been completely destroyed but killed in a gruesome manner with her corpse, charred and bleeding, sprawled out on the ground with her frozen lifeless gaze staring up at her traitor of a sister and the Charmed Ones accusatorially that seems to convey an underlying feeling of victimisation and confusion. If they're going to have Christy killed off rather than have her character explored further then they could have at least portrayed it in a more meaningful manner which gives everyone, not just Billy, nightmares.

Cole in some respects mirrors Angel with their similarly troubled backgrounds as a former villain who is in love with the lead character and trying to redeem themselves. It's been ages since I last watched the show, but the general consensus among Buffy fans is that Seasons 2 and 3 are much, MUCH better than Season 1. The show had a better budget, the acting was better, and the series had found its footing. I think Season 1 was still carrying a lot of baggage from the 1992 movie (which I don't recommend watching... luckily, it's not considered canon), hence the cheesier stuff, Buffy being a fluffy cheerleader, and whatnot. Now, as for the post-high school seasons, I strongly recommend stopping at Season 5. Neither the UPN seasons or the comic seasons are really worth it and will probably just ruin the rest of show for you. Like Charmed, Buffy was another show that overstayed its welcome. I suspect that both time constraints and the nonexistent budget prevented that from happening. The Billie and Christy storyline was very obviously wrapped up in a rush, as if the show had to be off of the Paramount lot by a certain date.

I've seen a few Supernatural episodes end that way. Dean and Sam, standing over the body of whomever or whatever they've just "ganked" and not having it conveniently disappear.
That's why hunters have to keep continuously on the move. When the bodies start to pile up, Officialdom starts getting curious.

Chris: Now, where’s Billie? Paige: She used her own power to get back. I always thought Billie went back to save Christy, to remedy a present in which she had to kill her sister Maybe that would be the starting point of the season 9, with some cameo of the Charmed Ones

That was the original plan - S8 was supposed to set up Billie and Christy as a spin-off - the only way The WB agreed to let Charmed have another season. They wanted a hot young witch and that's what they got. Unfortunately for them and fortunately for Charmed fans, no one liked the newcomers. Hence Kern wrote a series finale instead.

If the protagonists of Charmed no longer wanted to go on (and it seems normal after eight seasons) it's clear that to keep alive the Charmed world was necessary to identify new characters
I'ld like Christy: a powerful witch, raised by demons, designed to knock off the most powerful witches ever seen, cold and determined as she appeared in the eighth season, it was a good idea I can easily imagine her, instead of Wyatt, proclaiming "It's alla about the power"
The big mistake, IMO, was how they described Bille's character, so naive and sugary and chirpy to get on my nerves just she appeared They'ld do better to propose, as a "good"sister a Prue style girl, a young womanl who had had a normal life, who loved being a witch, determined to protect the innocents fromher sister and at the same time to save her The production imposed the wrong actress, currently I am seeing her in The Big Bang Theory, that role fits her best
It's a shame, Billie's character, a young witch who grows with the Charmed Ones, is trained by them, lives with Piper and children and eventually kills her sister, would have been quite a character
