We are of similar age, I started watching it in 1999 at aged 11, and it ended when I was 18 in 2006, just out of high school. I remember very well in 2001 when Shannen left when I first joined a Charmed forum (wasn't this one sadly) and all the rumors about it, and all the plots that were said to be about how they'll go forward. Charmed was among one of the shows I grew up with loving, along with a few others. But since reading fanfics where Prue never died or was alive, it helped me get over how angry I was that she died, and wishing the original set stayed. I feel when you get older, you begin to look at things differently. I loved S1-4 the best, and I have begun to see just how special S1 and S2 were in a re-watch I did back in 2014 and 2015, and how it did have a downfall around S3. Maybe I didn't notice it back then, because I was enjoying all the twists and turns, shocks and the Source/Cole arc. I still do enjoy S3 and S4 (but I haven't re-watched those seasons in about 4 years or more in full, so not sure now), but something about S1 and S2 now, makes it enjoyable than the others when I did re-watch those. I used to think the downfall was S5 and S6. It's funny because when I did a re-watch going back a number of years, I never could get past Wrestling with Demons, and just didn't continue my journey. Always wondered why this episode. I really need to re-watch the series again, just to see how I'll feel. Also after going through a major death in the family a while back, I wonder how those experiences will make me feel about S4. It is good when you haven't seen a show you love in a long time because distance helps to keep it fresh when you do re-watch it again. I always thought we had very similar backgrounds and views West. It would be incredible to meet you one day. I too at the time LOVED Seasons 3 and 4 when I was a teenager. I feel like Charmed was at its 'populism peak' back then and everyone at school was talking about Charmed as it had been established. But when I do look back, I can only really watch the beginning 4. I can't watch after "Paige from the Past" in Season 4. I mean, back then, I loveeeed the S4 storyline and the special effects and the drama and the twists and turns. I remember it was the only time my whole family watched Charmed. Its still good. Its still entertaining but I just can't see Phoebe the same way after that and that the premise of the show just changes - and I do want to acknowledge that it had nothing to do with Paige or Rose and Shannen's departure. I think the show did quite well with what it had to deal with at time time. So when I want to get my Charmed release now, I often hit up Season 2 and the beginning of Season 4. 20 years. Wow That would be cool one-day. Me too! Same here, it was a constant chatter for me at school too. Everyone was so hooked on S3 & S4. However, it slowly died when it reached S7 & S8 (and I don't think everyone saw S8 because it wasn't rating well that was all over the place airing). But the popularity peak was S3 & S4, actually, it was pretty big in S2 too. The premise of the show changed so much. I know Phoebe/Cole plot was so big, and they wanted to get back to it and they thought it would be canceled. I just wished S4 was all about Paige and bringing her in. I think I just like Phoebe when she was written like Connie and not like how Kern and Alyssa see her. She was just so much fun. You notice things more when you have years to process it like how Phoebe turned out with the Cole arc, and this is coming from a fan of the second half of S4. I can't believe it has been 20 years too. Time flies. Because I have fond memories and remember well how I felt the first time. 'Morality Bites' was the first episode I recorded on VHS, and did it ever since then. I was so excited to get my S1 DVD, because I had a heap of episodes I didn't see while catching reruns on some and recorded those. It felt like I got new Prue episodes.

It's nice to have Charmed friends here that can relate! I just thought I would share this. I showed my 7 year old niece the Season 3 opening credits and asked her who she liked liked the most male/female whichever and what power. She replied back and pointed at Phoebe... "The one who closes her eyes and see's pictures... she looks fun"! It seems like things don't change 20 years on!

Which proves how shows made years ago can actually have an impact on today's audiences as much as all the CW superhero programmes for instance.

I've gotta admit that I find it fun that as people get older many of them S4 and S5 the way I did the first time around when I was the age that they are now or a little older. The Cole/Phoebe storyline will always be my least-favorite storyline over even the Chris storyline or the Billie/Christy one or the infamous triangle or Proud Prue which ruined Piper and Prue for me.

For me too and what it did to my favorite sister and not among my favorites, I just think Charmed didn't have great storylines/arcs, they always left me more annoyed than thrilled and excited. Good thing Cole wasn't on the show longer than 2 1/2 seasons. Too bad the same wasn't true for Leo.

I'm thinking when my niece is about 9 or 10 I'll show her SWTWComes and see if I can get her into it!

Leo shouldn't have been forced into every episode. It defeated the purpose of Piper and Leo's separation. I wonder what she'll think. Also if the scary parts frighten her.

Yeah that will be awkward to explain to someone so young. I'll admit, I didn't like how things quickly shifted for Prue/Andy from the first episode to the second. How much time actually passed between the two episodes I wonder?

I'll be interested what she thinks. Some parts might scare the heck out of her, especially in SWTWC, with Jeremy.

I was thinking about that. Esp because I was 12-13 when I first watched and my sister was 4 years younger than me, 8-12 when I used to watch Season 1 with her in 1999. And I do remember Jeremey saying "I'll get you, you B**** as well! The stabbing at the beginning is intense as well.

I was 12. And there's no option for that in the poll, haha.
I was in my first year of junior high school and probably missed only 2 episodes during the original run. I recorded the episodes with my VCR and watched religiously.
Here I am, a 33 y/o PhD student and enjoying the new rebooted Charmed. Some things never change.

I was 20 years old when I started watching Charmed. So a little bit younger than Phoebe. Why the show was appealing, given I was near the sister's ages, as a Generation Xer.

I believe I was between 11-13 when I caught it on TNT. Back at a time when syndication was still fairly relevant and WAY before streaming (ha,ha). I watched because Alyssa Milano was the only one of the three sisters I recognized. It was S2 Ep22 (Be Careful What You Witch For) but I ended up watching for Shannen because even now as an adult I consider it a fan favorite episode for her acting chops.

Yeah, Shannen was good in that episode wasn't she? 😁😁
It seems quite a lot of members here were teenagers or just under when they first discovered Charmed then.
