I see you are from Canada missjessica . We have other members on here who are from Canada as well. You like true crime dramas I see. I don't mind them either. My mum loves watching them plus NCIS and CSI plus all the Law and Orders too. I also like some of the other programs you've listed for example Stargate SG1 and Smallville. I also saw Star Trek Voyager back in the day when it first aired. Anyway, I hope you enjoy yourself and have fun here on the board. |

I checked the times, and they might work for me. But since I'm a postal worker and Christmas is our busiest season from next weekend, I may be working more hours and on the weekend (with the high demand with parcels and people buying Xmas gifts online). But I see you play catch-up and I might be able to make the Wednesday catch-up rewatches at 4 Central.
Yes, I did enjoy Once Upon a Time. I checked it out because I'd seen Ginnifer Goodwin in Big Love and obviously Rose from Charmed (so I had to check out her episode). I wasn't sure if I'd like the show, but since it used the flashback and backstory format that Lost did, and heard Lost writers are part of it and I liked the modern take on fairytales, I got hooked on it.

I find true crime dramas so fascinating to watch. I'm also into True Crime podcasts.
I'm very big into anything with crime and cases.I know it isn't for everyone.
Star Trek Voyager was such a fun show. It was my introduction to the Star Trek universe.

Favorite Charmed character and why: This is hard for me, I like all the characters evenly for their strengths and weaknesses. I'll default to Phoebe, because even before she was an 'empath' I could see her empathic side. And though she can be self-assertive (as she definitely got more of as the seasons rolled on), she has a tenderness that I can appreciate.
Favorite Season: Season five. Well, it starts off with the two mermaid episodes, A Witch's Tail (parts 1 & 2). It's a shame that the Mermaid spin-off show that was going to be based on these episodes was scrapped, I would have love to have seen the Charmed universe grow beyond just the baseline show. There's also a lot of great episodes this season, with episode eight (A Witch in Time) being another time-travel episode, episode ten (Y Tu Mummy También) having the Egyptian theme (and Adrian Paul!), episode fourteen (The Legend of Sleepy Halliwell) being based on The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and episode fifteen (I Dream of Phoebe) being a nod to I Dream of Jeannie.
Favorite Episode: 114 - Forget Me...Not. This is the episode where baby Wyatt brought a dragon to life by wishing it to be real from seeing it on the tv. Yeah, as if my forum name doesn't scream it...I am a big fan of dragons. Just wish there had been a bit more dragon footage in that episode.
Other shows you watch: Hoo boy, way too many to list. I love urban fantasy and scifi; with a big focus magic, mythology, horror and the supernatural for fantasy and dinosaurs, dimension travel, time-travel and horror for scifi. There's definitely room for cross-over between the two, as seen in Charmed in episode 119 I believe (Soul Survivor; Season 6, Episode 7) where Chris & Leo have a confrontation with a dinosaur. One show that I adore that mixes a lot of my favorite concept of fantasy and scifi is Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World (lots of dinosaur action...and even a species of reptoids descended of dinosaurs!). I'm also a big fan of the 'cursed object' trope, as seen in the Friday The 13th tv series and Warehouse 13. Also, anything that has merfolk is pretty damn cool too. I'm also very big into the Stargate franchise, so anything that has elements of Egyptian lore/mythology is right up my alley. I also love the Highlander and Tremors franchises. Also, Once Upon A Time has got to be the best show with the magical hijinks since the original Charmed.
Everything Else: I am LGBT and proud. Charmed helped me deal with my emotions towards that even before I realized much later about being transgender (mtf).

Favorite Charmed character and why:
Prue Halliwell. I guess for me, I've always loved Prue since I first watched the show at 14 Years Old, as I could relate to her on a deeper level compared to the other three sisters. Like Prue, I was an older sister and due to being from a single parent household, I had to pretty much become like a second parent and at times parent my own mother. I see Prue as a very strong, independent, intelligent and brave woman, she was someone I related and aspired too. I could probably say the same thing about her actress, Shannen who I also adore and have watched a lot of her other work.
I also have a bit of a soft spot for Paige.
Favorite Season:
Season 3.
Favorite Episode:
Oh my gosh, I have so many favorite episodes so I'll just name a few: The Truth is Out There and it Hurts, From Fear to Eternity, Love Hurts, Déjà Vu All Over Again, Morality Bites, Ms. Hellfire, Awakened, Pardon My Past, Chick Flick, Primrose Empath, Power Outage, Coyote Piper, Blinded by the Whitelighter, The Good, the Bad and the Cursed, Just Harried, Sin Francisco, All Hell Breaks Loose, A Knight to Remember, Brain Drain, A Paige From The Past, Charmed and Dangerous, Witches In Tights, Sense and Sense Ability, Chris-Crossed, Spin City and Forever Charmed. Every episode more than once, I've rewatched the series at least like 20 times? Lol. I do usually rewatch seasons 1-3 or 4-8 and sometimes I do the entire series, it usually depends on how I am feeling.
Do you still watch Charmed (on TV, online, video or DVD)? If yes, do you watch (a) every day, (b) once or twice a week, (c) a few times a month, (d) a few times a year?
I have the entire series on the original DVD set so I can enjoy Charmed with it's original soundtrack and charm. I usually rewatch the series a few times a year.

Little bit about me:
I'm a pretty big nerd and I love being one! Other interests I have other than watching TV is D&D (huge fan of Critical Role), making resin dice, video games (I stream a bit with my partner if anyone is interested!), reading, and hanging out with the people I love! I've met several celebrities and I never get starstruck BUT in February I went to Pensacon and met Holly Marie Combs, Brian Krause, and Rose McGowan and I was a MESS meeting Holly, I was shaking and stuttering... partner laughed at me. She touched me voluntarily and called me honey, I weep.
I'm a queer, big girl, my partner is Enby and also queer, so I'm a safe place for anyone. I'm a little restless in life and I'm working on figuring out why. I just said goodbye to my dog, my best friend of 13 years and I'm still pretty wrecked about it. I'm also a cat mom. My next cat (unsure about getting another dog anytime soon) will be named Piper.
I used to be heavily involved in fandoms in my teens and early-mid 20s, I used to RP, write fanfiction, and was a member of several different forums for several different fandoms but it's been awhile, so please bear with me while I try and get back in the swing of forums and fandoms. I just miss talking to people online with similar interests as me! I hope to make some good friends here

Favorite Charmed character and why:
Piper 100% in my many years of watching Charmed that has never faltered. I love her character progression. I know a lot of people don't like her because she's mean and whiny in later seasons, but I have SO MUCH head cannon about why she developed that way and I very much relate to her. A lot of people IRL think I'm mean, too, so it works lol

I don't have 1 favorite season, but if I HAD to choose, probably season 3 Favorite Episode:

I'm not sure, probably about 17 years. I found Charmed around 2003, I think. Before that, I remember watching TV late one night and seeing a snippet of the episode where they were practice on Leo getting Belthazor flesh (I can't remember the episode title off the top of my head at the moment) and I thought it was an interesting show and it took me a long time to find it!

Yeah from what I know this is one of the only Charmed forums actively going still amongst others I've seen online overall. The Charmed Reddit is pretty active, but I'm not a fan of the new direction it's taken, lately, but it is another option. I prefer the Cafe (here), though. Less toxic. I've been lurking on the Charmed Reddit for a little while and it has become a little wild since Shannen's most recent podcast. lol. |
