ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I love that. YESSS! And it was also Shannen who got TPTB to hire Holly. Really, without Shannen, there would be no Charmed. It's a shame. Agreed. I wish Shannen could be the showrunner of a Charmed reboot. I bet she'd love the chance to recreate what she never got to finish. I would watch that. I'm a bit iffy on reboot. I'm interested, but unsure, but if Shannen was in charge, I think it would have a really good chance of being good.

From everything I've seen of the four leads on panels, interviews etc. over the last few years, I honestly think Shannen seems the nicest. Sure you could put on a happy face for the camera and just because she's mellowed now doesn't have to mean that everything said about her back then was untrue... but that's what I've thought from what I've seen of her recently. Based entirely on what I've seen of the four recently, I could actually imagine myself getting along more with Shannen than the other three. Of course seeing someone in an interview or convention isn't the same as knowing them personally, but just based on footage going around... if I could choose a Charmed lead to have a drink with, I'd probably pick her.
...Not that I'm saying Holly, Rose and Alyssa seem awful or anything.

Some lovely quotes there, I was afraid it would be more of the usual so I'm pleasantly surprised. More and more I'm beginning to wonder if Alyssa was more of a problem than Shannen. From all I've watched and read of the actors it seems that Shannen is consistently praised for her hard-work and determination, whilst Alyssa is described as "fun" or "sexy". Shannen and Holly really seemed to care about Charmed which I appreciate far more than Rose's non-committal attitude and Alyssa and Brian's immature, giggling schoolchildren behaviour. This might sound harsh, but Shannen deserved to stay at Charmed more than anyone and I think that's what stung her most when she was fired because she really did give it 100%. The irony is that they were making a show about strong, ballsy women and Shannen was punished for being exactly that. I agree completely. I've always gotten the sense that Charmed was far more important to Shannen and Holly than it was for Alyssa and Rose. The latter two had already found success outside of Charmed, so their careers didn't really depend on whether or not the show succeeded. On the other hand, Charmed was Shannen's big chance to repair her public image and revive her career after the controversies of the 90210 days, while it was Holly's first big break as an actor. Even nowadays, you still constantly see Shannen and Holly reminiscing about Charmed and attending conventions, whereas you see far less of that from Alyssa and Rose. Its no wonder she left the show, Brad Kern forced out Constance Burge after a "dissagreement" tbh I think it was because he wanted to use our Charmed ladies as eye candy. did you notice how much skin the outfits showed after season 3. And I think so because he was fired by CBS a few years ago due to sexual misconduct. And the actresses did have something to say about it. Shannen must've left because she experienced an unprofessional workplace from him, I think she would have stayed on even though she had a tiff with Alyssa. Its true, you never hear Alyssa reminiscing and Rose just hates on everyone

Shannen was a professional and did put in the effort. If she hated the script she made it known unlike alyssa who would never speak up. Thats what got Shannen fired. Truth be told, i think the alyssa/shannen feud was blown up and may have been a minor issue. Would i have loved Shannen to have stayed. Of course as much as i like Rose, It was just a job to her and one she thought was 1-2 years wasnt it. She never talks about the show and probaly always hated it and she admitted she hates long running gigs. But Id gladly pick shannen to stay over rose coming in anyday. Its True, I feel like Shannen and Milano would have got over their feud but Brad Kern must've made it hard for Shannen to work there anymore, Tbh it should have had a female showrunner/producer since the show was about 3 women. And I do agree with her, it got sh!tty after a while, it was underfunded and there were a lot of unexplained stories. they could have done so much more with the storylines. Its just like Fresh Prince of Bel Air when the OG Aunt Viv got fired because she wasn't backed up by her co-stars the Milano in this situation being Will Smith.

No doubt, I believe the real drama was between Shannen and Brad NOT Alyssa and Shannen, they may have had their issues, but neither would let that get in the way of filming, they may have had their fights off-camera. You can tell this, because the dailies came out and during the ones in S3, they are always acting professional while filming, and between takes. And I believe what Holly said in interviews, she brought up the issues Shannen had with the producers, and when they let her go in some podcast interview last year. I do wonder if BOTH Holly and Alyssa protested Shannen's firing what would happen. It was only Holly, but if Alyssa did, and I truly don't think she ever would, as I'm sure a part of her was happy, what Kern and the producers would do. Probably the same they tried to do with Holly because she was under contract, but, if the #MeToo had happened two decades earlier, of course, it would be a different situation. But, the show never was about female empowerment once Kern took over and Connie was out the door after Season 2. It was no longer about three sisters who happened to be witches, but three demon fighters who happened to be sisters, and by the time Wyatt was born, it was no longer even about female empowerment at all.

As we now know, Kern was certainly guilty of misconduct. He hasn't worked since being fired from NCIS because of abuse and I don't doubt for a second this also took place on the set of Charmed. Alyssa spoke about it back in 2017 and was very professional about it, not admitting to knowing of any wrong doing but it almost certainly happened.
I wouldn't be surprised if Kern's behaviour led to the departure of Burge and the dismissal of Doherty. I just wish one of them would go on the record and confirm that.

Shannen seems like she was praised somewhat consistently by co-stars, and Rose McGowan's made some comments in recent years indicating Alyssa Milano was hard to work with.
