I have no qualms with making Christy the antagonist of Season 8. In fact, my interpretation of Season 6 would have entailed a sectarian group of Elders lead by Gideon opposing the sisters' debauchery and the influence they could have on a dangerously powerful yet impressionable loose cannon that is Wyatt. It would demonstrate how humans and even people believed to represent true benevolence can find themselves at odds with each other due to conflicting perspectives over ideology and morality; with one side not necessarily being completely in the right or wrong.
If they had made Season 8 into more of an introspective "ourselves vs the mission" kind of storyline with Christy being the true voice of opposition to the sisters' selfish endeavours using the powers they chose to keep rather than have her turn out as a brainwashed drone of the Triad who's hastily killed and done away with, then I might have enjoyed it, provided the writing and handling of the concept was done meticulously and delicately.

You have some great ideas here, Sadrick.
Too bad Kern and his writers were not capable of such deep and thoughtful writing.

OHHHHHHHHH! That sounds like a much better idea of the season. But, yeah, the writing is the key, and unfortunately, Kern and the staff were not reliable to count on making something like this work.

That was my biggest problem with the final plotline. The sisters truly had become the Big Bad much more than the Jenkinses or the Triad or anyone else, and yet the writers kept making up excuses for them. That's why I simply yawned through the last few episodes after "The Jung and the Restless" - that could've been such the perfect penultimate episode if the sisters had truly realized that what Christy said about them was true - they had become the demons and didn't deserve to be the Charmed Ones. Had they...oh, how fantastic those last few episodes could've/should've been! I will always count post-'The Jung and the Restless' as an opportunity wasted, letting the Charmed Ones be rewarded for turning into warlocks and showing that ends justify the means rather than the wrong thing done for the right reason is still the wrong thing.

The sister as the Big Bad? And why? Only because they want to have some normal days? They weren't soldiers, they'ld save innocent or not, they didn't have duty
I think that doing good things'ld not be a duty or it'ld lose value
Christy put it on and manipulates her baby sister because she has a specific purpose, she takes action on behalf of the Triad but she lusts power for herself No wonder if the Angel of Destiny was so worried, Christy and the Triad'ld be worse than the Source, especially because the Triad has always wanted to gain power, political also, in the human world and with Chisty, beautiful, human, young telepath, they'ld be unstoppable
The human being with superhuman powers is more dangerous than any upper level demons for the real world, Gideon, an elder wise and friendly and open to changes, will make the radical resolution to kill a child because of his overabundant powers
The only way to save Christy'ld be Chris's way: back to the past to avoid the kidnapping

Mixed Feelings. I actually liked Something Wicca This Way Goes as a series final more. Had they not done those flashforwards, I might have liked it more. I like a more open ended series final.

I am one of those people who don't want an open-ended finale but if they were planning on making a spin-off they left NO room for material.

I am one of those people who don't want an open-ended finale but if they were planning on making a spin-off they left NO room for material. Oh no your right, I guess when I mean open ended, I meant more no flashforwards at the end. I am not too fond of knowing every little detail of what happens to the characters. Something Wicca This Way Goes did feel open ended, but I liked it more because we didn't have flashforwards, the story had an ending and it left room to wonder what became of the characters. Something I didn't like with Forever Charmed. Just remove the flashforwards completely. But your right, the way it ended did leave no room for a spin-off, since they basically told all what became of the sisters and their lives. So a spin-off or revival looses its appeal, if you have an idea what will happen.

It makes my list of worst series finale ever. There was no thought out into it. Pointless character returns in the stupidest of ways.
I've actually given up thinking about it. I don't try to work it out and forget that season 8 ever happened. I prefer to think of season 7 as the series finale. Wish it had been so much!

I don't like a bit the flashforwards If they had closed with the sisters starting to write theirmemoirs, it'ld be better

I was satisfied by how Christy was killed by her sister, and how much her sister suffered from doing so. That made the whole episode worth it. I would have also kicked Billie to the curve, as well as the entire magical community for being such ingrates. I'm sorry but I wouldn't have when the real evil that year wasn't Billie or Christy but the Charmed Ones themselves actually after everything they'd done beforehand since Prue died ignoring their witch duties of not protecting innocents and caring more about Wyatt and Chris than them, moaning how magic screwed up their lives wanting them to be normal all the time, only choosing when they fought demons not when they should've and then being selfish to no thanks. Christy was kidnapped and brainwashed/raised by demons to hate and destroy the sisters with her sibling Billie. She was the ultimate innocent here who the Charmed Ones should've tried helping rather than nearly kill her from the onset which would've been cold bloodied murder like Rick season 6 had they succeeded ultimately. They were so full of themselves by then except Paige slightly of course that they didn't care really and excepted the magical community to drop everything and help them despite what happened previously. The magical community had every right to say, "Screw you." Really and not help them just as Billie and Christy were right in their character assessment of the sisters personalities obviously. In the beginning of the season I would have said that Christy is beyond help but once I saw how she started to change when her parents were there and how she started to bond with the sisters I realized how wrong I was. I was shocked when Grams even said how she wasn't acting very "witch" like so they should vanquish them. Again there were always parts of her raising the Charmed Ones that I disagreed with but I would have expected her to tell them that she is a witch and should be saved as opposed to vanquished.

Did the Warren powers - Grams' (TK), Patty and Piper's (Freezing Time) and Phoebe newly in the womb (Premonition) send Grams, Patty, Piper and Leo to the Present Day events of "Kill Billie Vol. 2.'
Was this how they 'recreated' the Power of Three?
I was just watching That 70's Episode when they needed the Power of Three to send Big Prue, Piper and Phoebe back (forward) to 1999. So they can't simply tap into the Power of Three with Penny, Patty and adult Phoebe to replicate the 3 warren powers - as Prue, Piper and Phoebe didn't have powers when they travelled from 1999 to the 70's.
So they used womb Phoebe, little Piper and little Prue to tap into the Power of Three to strengthen the spell and send adult Prue, Piper and Phoebe back to 1999. - With much success.
Could this way of using all three Warren Powers' have been the how 1976 Pregnant Patty, 198X Grams and 2006 Piper and Leo been how they got back to a) travel in time and b) vanish the halllow together?
Or do you think it was plainly just bad writing and I'm making up an excuse for a poorly thought out episode?

Penny, Patty and Piper cannot have the Power of Three It was a poor of fantasy way to engage two popular characters like Patty and Penny in the final Piper could have tapped the Power of Three using Wyatt and calling Prue and maybe Penny and Patty could have a role helping Prue to come back If Shannon was less intransigent, I think we should have a different and better final

The right final was with Prue, with all the four sisters
I saw a video in which Shannon regretted having abandoned Charmed, too late, sadly

I think a better ending was the Angel returning offering the only survivor Paige a chance at a normal life. Refusing, she travels back in time with Leo to find Piper and Phoebe from different timelines. They could still have Grams and Patty coming out. The only ones no needed was the adult Chris and Wyatt.

I have no gripes with Forever Charmed really. Only that Phoebe didn't get her powers back. BUT I like your idea of bring Piper and Phoebe back from an earlier season. Like Fun Phoebe from Heartbreak City and a Piper from Magic Hour perhaps, wanting Leo back. Nice idea

I like this idea - it just wasn't possible because both Rose and Alyssa had gone on to other projects. Only Holly and Brian stayed around, the reason they were in most of the scenes.

Clearly both were desperate to move on. You would think a show that was about to end would be top priority for them, normally it is the other way round. Ideally it would of made more sense (if the actors were around), for Piper to recruit past versions of her sisters in the past instead of recreating the power of three with Grams and Patty. But we got stuck with that for a reason. I wonder if this is what Shannen was talked into doing if what she said was really true in conventions about not liking the script ideas for the final. Prue being brought from the past to help recreate the power of three.

We have no idea what Kern's ideas were, but I have a hunch that Prue would've been given a very short cameo so it could (as he said he wanted) concentrate on the second set. And if that's what it was, you can see why Shannen said no. I just wanted her to be part of the final wall display - end it as it should've ended, with the iconic picture of the original three standing in front of the Manor that Grams took just before she died. But that wouldn't be enough for Shannen, either, I'm sure.

Charmed should've left the future unknown. I would've liked it better if they wrote about their jouney instead of a flash forward.
