Based on my earlier poll, but wondering about just Season Two now.
What was your reaction towards Season One the first time you watched it and what is your reaction now? Just choose one choice.

Much like season 1 dears - my opinion has not changed at all. Still love season 2.
So many people hate this season dears because it has no real storyline - I think they mean the big bad. It had a storyline with the love triangle dears. I actually adore that we didn't have a clear big bad all season. It was a fun season with many wonderful standalone stories. All the sisters are fun and yes this girl has her issues with Piper in regards to that love triangle - but it was an honest and real life experience for many people in life.

This was my original favorite season, back when Leo and Piper were my favorite couple. But remembering what happened in the latter seasons and wishing Piper had made the right choice - Dan - it no longer is. I still love a lot of the stand-alone episodes in this season - and my favorite episode, "Morality Bites"is part of it - but because I no longer love the main storyline - especially the way Piper treats Leo once she admits that he's the one her heart belongs to - I can no longer say I love it.

Back in the day I loved Piper and Leo who were my favourite couple and hated it when Dan got it the way.
I was gripped every week what was goanna happen between the three of them and sad when Piper choose Dan then when Leo had his wings clipped I thought yay he has a chance to win her back which he did with the hand written card and flowers amongst other things that I thought was sweet.
Thinking now though I did wish in someway Leo hadn't gotten his wings back even though he done that to save Prue and I loved Piper and him season 3 still because of how he was portrayed later on as Piper's lapdog and everything but then seeing him human late season 7 full on season 8 would things have turned out the same way earlier on or would Leo's character have been more developed out with the better writers then who knows.
Story wise though I didn't mind the stand alone episodes over the big bad type villian which there were very good ones of so my opinion on that now though hasn't changed obviously.

Season 2 has some really great episodes and some not-so-great ones. The feel of the season is definitely different than the first one. Season 1 had a more unique feel to it.
Even so, I love this season because it takes place before so many changes in the show that changed it permanently. For instance, we don't see Cole in this season, and even though he only stayed as a regular character into season 5, his impact can be felt for the rest of the show's run. And in this season, Piper and Leo (at least for a while) aren't a permanent couple yet. Phoebe is still in the transition phase of starting school again. Prue is transitioning in her career. Jack and Dan are regularly seen, and those two aren't permanent characters at all.
I'm not sure exactly how to describe it. There's just something very comforting about watching a time in their lives when so much was still undecided. I love seasons 3 and 4 and how involved the stories are, but I also like this time when it still felt like it could go in any direction.
I guess that while I liked this season the first time I watched it, I appreciate it a lot more now that there's no mystery left because I've already seen the later seasons. This season reminds me of different ways that things could have been.

I think the fact that Season 2 had no actual big bad is what made it great. They were able to step back after the whole Rex/Hannah thing and just go their own pace with S2.
It also has a good amount of episodes I love to go back and re watch whenever I need to laugh or smile(Witch Trial, Morality Bites, Pardon My Past, Awakened, How to Make a Quilt Out of Americans)

I have seen all the seasons back-to-back, then after a first season full of emotions I felt season 2 as toned-down In any case, I liked it

Started strong with episodes like "Morality Bites", but I found myself losing interest from episode to episode. The episodic approach didn't work for me. Season 2 therefore is still my least liked season from the shows first half (s1-4).

Never thought of it this way before, but you're absolutely right. I think this is part of why I never liked the rest of the seasons as much as I liked S1 and S2 - after this, the latest greatest Big Bad was much more important than the sisterhood.

I still enjoy season 2, but not as much as season 1 and season 3. While I liked Phoebe going back to college to get a degree and there were some great stand alone episodes like Morality Bites and Awakened and the sisterly aspect was as strong as ever, I found myself sometimes irritated by Leo's constant presence and pointed remarks at Dan and at Piper about Dan. I also felt sorry kinda for Dan. He definitely deserved a better send off than having his memories erased. Seeing Dan was Piper's husband in her past life and had completely accepted magic, wouldn't mind seeing the guy regain memories and give Piper and magic another chance in a future season.
Andy's absence is another reason season 2 felt strangely off to me. It's not just his relationship to Prue, but he as a character who was interesting. Weirdly more interesting than Leo. I guess Leo in small doses in season 1 was okay rather than Leo everywhere. The guy was Piper's future husband then it was discovered he and Piper were lovers in their past lives then it was discovered like Piper, Patty had an affair with her whitelighter too. Then Leo turned mortal and declared he'll fight for Piper who was still in a relationship with Dan. The romance and love traingle just got a bit too much.

So many people hate this season dears because it has no real storyline - I think they mean the big bad. It had a storyline with the love triangle dears. Besides that, I feel this season was about lessons when using magic for personal gain and consequences. The sisters learn a lesson about how wrong things could go if magic used to punish guilty in vengenace instead of protect innocents. The sisters then learn the consequences of using magic to heal a comatose Piper who was sick due to a non-magical reason. Sisters also learn the deadly consequences of forbidden whitelighter/witch relationships. And the final lesson is about sacrificing your loved one for the greater good of the world. I guess the same thing also happened in both Morality Bites and Awakened. Two sisters having to make a choice to let the third one die in order to save strangers. Though unlike Phoebe and Piper who gave the go ahead to their sisters to let them die, Prue never had that opportunity seeing she was trapped in a different plane.

Cyma made me realize that one of the reasons why I like season 2 but less than the others is the story of the 'lesson to be learned "
I can't stand moralistic lecture, I like Morality Bites because of the different future, the evolution of powers/ evolutions of personality of the sisters, the witch hunt and that sense of desolation that testified a broken link, the non-realization of what could have been
I never accepted the idea that playing a joke to a rude man was the beginning of an evil path

Still love it today. I actually like that we didn't have a Big Bad. It is the only season that really captured the balance between the sisters, innocents and every day life so well.

Witch Trial
-It’s a nice episode to come back to which helps us remember what the PO3 is and what being Charmed is all about. Nice references to the Pilot and some of our fave S1 eps. It’s my 3rd best premier behind Something Wicca and Charmed Again P1. I think that the Power of One thing was a bit silly. Nice to see Grams again. Abraxas looked ridiculous! Jenny…sigh. Dan Wow!
Morality Bites
-One of the best episodes of the series. In fact if there would be a top 5: Something Wicca This Way Comes, Morality Bites, All Halliwell’s Eve would be in there!
The Painted World
-I liked these one off episodes that weren’t fillers but were actually fillers…. I think this episode is rather well done and imaginative
The Devil's Music
-All I can think about is Jenny and what a waste of a character. I don’t like it when Leo seems to know everything about a situation but then when it really matters he doesn’t know anything. A weak episode but the leads are all great.
She's a Man, Baby, a Man!
So if S1’s silly filler is Which Prue is it Anyway (a stretch as most S1 eps are serious) and S3’s is Once Upon a Time/Sin Francisco and S4’s is Enter the Demon/Muses, then Chick Flick and She’s a Man Baby are the Season 2 equivalents. There is that Dan/Leo/Piper thing going on around these episodes which I don’t mind but I always wonder what it would have been like if Dan and Leo tied the knot.
That Old Black Magic
I think possibly the worst episode of S1- S4. Enough said. MY WAND!
They're Everywhere
I liked the innocence story in this one and some of the writing and attention to detail but on the most part most people will forget this ep.
P3 H2O
THAT episode which changed Charmed forever! It’s a little slow with a lot of talking but I love hearing about the Halliwell family tree and love the letters that Piper and Leo read. Phoebe and Prue are great in this ep as well.
Ms. Hellfire
I LOVE the opening scene to this episode. I love how it’s the Season 3 power shot for Piper in the opening credits. I liked the return of Barbus and how these episodes weren’t arcs but very separate from each other. E.g.:From Fear (S1), Ms Hellfire (S2), Give Me a Sign (S2). This worked rather well for Charmed. Prue has another power which should have gone to Phoebe as it’s a psyhic one…. They f’d up!
Heartbreak City
I little cheesy but I do like Phoebe and Cupid in this episode. It would have been great if he was Cole in Season 3.
Reckless Abandon
I LOVE this episode. It is so underrated but it has everything! Innocence, self-lessness, ghosts, in some ways it reminds me of the Ghost from The Power of Two which is another great ep. Phoebe is so adorable around the baby and I love the ‘Baby I Got You’ song when the girls are playing with Matthew. It made me think about the next generation and what great mothers they would have been.
Awakened
I am indifferent to this one. I know it’s a fan favourite but I don’t like the little ninja doll. I don’t like how Piper was going to die from fruit. I don’t get HOW Leo saves Piper. Was she really supposed to die or was Leo supposed to save her so they could have Wyatt? Or Chris to come back to save them… but then end up not saving them because Wyatt was saved in S7, no S6. See what I mean here? It’s a nice episode but just too OTT for me. I feel unpopular right now.
Animal Pragmatism
Another weak episode. Lightly amusing with P3 turned into a Zoo but that’s about it really.
Pardon My Past
A fave of mine because we learn more about Phoebe. I love the time it’s set in and how they played it well with the Victorian Manor. I love this episode and it’s a tribute to ‘Is there a Wooggie’ and sets the scene for Phoebe’s susceptibility to being both good and evil.
Give Me a Sign
I find this ep very entertaining. It’s the most interesting of the love triangle plot lines. The sisters look great and its good seeing Prue have fun since Andy.
Murphy's Luck
Wow. The acting in this ep is great. I don’t even mind Phoebe’s hairy armpits at the end of the ep! Hahahah. From Pardon My Past to Be Careful, there is a string of awesome episodes!
How to Make a Quilt Out of Americans
I like how this episode is not set in the Manor so much but outdoors. Its refreshing. I like this ep!
Chick Flick
Ok, this has to be every fans fave silly filler episode. Enough said. Its one of the classic comedic Charmed episodes. I love the scene where Phoebe and Billy come run into Prue and Piper and scream their ass’s off while running from the scary movie people. I think I’ve rewatched that scene so many times!
Ex Libris
Two good storylines which intertwined well with each other. Its all about the innocence!
Astral Monkey
Another fave of mine. The monkeys were great. The follow up from Awakened. Am I right in saying that this guy is the only dude who has had all three powers at one time?
Apocalypse Not
Maybe the best 2nd to last episode of the series. I like how this ep is similar to the season 3 2nd to last episode where Phoebe and Piper need to figure out the situation themselves. Almost foreshadowing.
Be Careful What You Witch For
It’s a funny ep but I wonder what it’s true purpose is. It’s an ok finale but not as solid as AHBL and De Ja Vu. I liked the Genie and the introduction to the triad. I think I’m being a little too harsh. It’s a great ep just not the best for a finale/premier. PS – why didn’t they orb to the forest to find Prue?
Overall, I think this is the best Season of Charmed.
Liked 13 eps

Still LOVE IT so much. Such a great season and why is it underrated. You have standout episodes like Morality Bites, They're Everywhere, P3H20, Ex Libris, Astral Monkey, Apocalypse Not and Chick Flick.

Well season 2 has a special place in my heart. So still love it. If say the entire series will be erased forever and I could only save one season only. I would keep choosing season 2 over and over. It is a really great season, and with so many standouts.
Whenever I am down, I can watch any random episode of season 2 and still enjoy it. Something about this season that stands out from the rest. I don't know, I think because all the sisters seem very settled in their lives and roles as a Charmed One. Okay, we have a love triangle, but apart from that. Were any of the sisters that unlikable this season, I say no apart from maybe Piper a little but you skip that 6 episode arc, and the rest is good.

Still love it. But these threads will be interesting to revisit when we do our possible 180-day Charmed rewatch project. So I might not post in the other threads until I rewatch the seasons again.

No, Olga! Go ahead and post right now - then it will be fun to see how the polls change after the re-watch. Perhaps we should do new polls for those seasons...maybe even for the episodes...would 180 new threads be too much???
