That sounds fun. Haven't seen Charmed and took a break for over a year because rewatching this year is perfect.
An anniversary board is a great idea.

Maybe we can dedicate an anniversary board for all the various polls, threads and chats. Then when the year ends move them all into their season boards. Maybe in the same style as this thread series your views before and now e.g Liked it, hated it, loved it now hate it etc. But just for specific episodes. What does everyone think? I think that's a FANTASTIC idea, Miranda! Assassin Witch? Story Girl? What do you think? YES PLEASE!!! That is the best idea I have heard. Especially if it is placed at the top of the board so members can see it, and motivates members (and get older ones to return) to get involved with maybe the site having a little redesign with something noting 20 years of Charmed. As for the episode views poll threads, we will do with 180, I love those. Maybe we could also temporarily move your views before and now for each season to the 20th-anniversary board, in addition to having our 180 polls for each episode in a similar style to how we vote for each season.

That makes my good idea even better! Perhaps someone can use the Charmed font to add "Celebrating Twenty Years of Charmed" to the current one. And, oh, wow, are we getting off-topic - we truly ought to move these posts over to the thecharmedcafe.proboards.com/thread/12294/doing-20th-anniversary-oct-2018 thread and continue this discussion there. Assassin Witch? Story Girl?

I didn't care for Piper owning P3 at first. I felt like the show was beginning to lose it's sense of maturity after Piper left Quake. The restaurant was a cooler hangout than the club for me. I disliked neighbor Dan, still do. The whole love triangle between him, Piper and Leo got annoying fast. I didn't care for Prue quitting Buckland's and taking up photography. I'm over it now when I re-watch this season. Other than that, overall Season 2 is awesome.

There were a lot of transitions in season 2. The club was obviously trying to make the show cooler, which I don't think it did. I don't really see any of the sisters wanting to go to a nightclub all the time. And if Piper's dream is to own her own restaurant, it makes more sense for her to stay in the restaurant business. I guess it could be argued that a club was the only thing available for her to own at that time, and she thought it was more valuable to get practice owning anything rather than staying in the restaurant world, but it still felt like a deviation from her ultimate goal.
I never really cared for Dan either. He struck me as possessive and jealous. It was also clear that he'd lose to Leo. Piper would have been better off with a nonmagical husband, but not Dan.
I really liked Prue as a photographer and her role in the auction world. I just wish that she hadn't made the transition so quickly and that she hadn't gotten a job right away. They should have built up her love of photography long before having her express her desire to do it as her career. Then maybe she takes a few months to build up her portfolio on the side while still working at the auction house. Then she finally decides to quit Bucklands after talking it over with her sisters, because her sudden drop in pay would affect them too.
Then it would be nice to watch Prue have to really struggle to break into the world of professional photography. Seeing her going through professional failures would be really interesting, especially juxtaposed with Phoebe who was in college at the time and getting a degree to have a full-time job. It's like the roles would have been reversed with Prue going for a somewhat unstable, freelance-type job and Phoebe finally getting serious professionally and potentially having an actual career ahead of her.

I'd agree with you regarding Prue if you didn't include the part of what happened at Buckland's and what caused her to quit. I was never more proud of Prue than I was in 'P3 H20", part of why it's one of my all-time favorite episodes.
But I agree that having her have that much success that soon was too much like Phoebe the advice columnist, or, for that matter, Piper and her nightclub becoming so popular so quickly just so they could put the bands The WB wanted to spotlight there.
Remember that Piper was just using Dan to try to have a normal life and never told him the truth of what was going on until the end when she'd already made her choice. I don't think he would've been either jealous or possessive if he knew the true reason why Leo was at the Manor so often. I like to think that Piper's love story should've been much more like Paige's in S8, except with someone like Henry rather than Dan.

I was cheering for Prue in P3 H20. It didn't make much sense, much like P3 even happening in the first place. No doubt a decision from The WB to spotlight the bands. This wasn't how I saw Piper's direction going from S1 to S2. I found all the sister's jobs except Piper in S1 and Paige in S4 to not be that great. Typical the two that I found suited the sisters best and worked, were the ones that didn't last long on the show.

I was proud of Prue quitting Buckland's over their business model changing to "let's sell fakes if we can get away with it," because I thought it was a great demonstration of her integrity; Prue had a rigid code of honor that wouldn't stand to work in a job that conflicted with her morals. But like previous posters, I definitely wanted to see her develop an actual portfolio and have the struggle of landing and keeping a steady job as a photographer! Would have been cool to see her taking the risk after being the steady, reliable one concerning her position in the mortal world for the longest time.
Would have rather seen Piper open up a restaurant, maybe even with a callback to Mark of season one. Wasn't Mark the first innocent whom Piper specifically focused on saving?
Also super proud of Phoebe for going back to college, working hard, and finding a study that interested her. I would've liked to have seen her be a student for a little longer–maybe even consider going to grad school before deciding against it–and have a more serious job hunt.

You're absolutely right - even though I do enjoy a number of episodes that are in the middle of an arc. But when you rewatch it, you have to remember what's going on in the arc. And, yeah, there's an arc going on through this entire season - the infamous triangle and Prue's new job - but the surrounding episodes don't seem to affect that episode as much as they do when it's pure episodic like the latter seasons.

Imagine if they found out about their long lost baby sister in P3 H2O? Like Sam blurts it out

I love S2 so much. The innocents, episode, and sisters are great. I just hated the love triangle, but apart from that, It's a favorite of mine.
Phoebe being my favorite sister was great as always. I just get sad watching Astral Monkey where she talks about if she had a boyfriend with her little tests on Leo, that part always makes me sad knowing what happens when she does.

Your right dear, Phoebe really was so fun in S2 wasn't she? Maggie was a great innocent, played by future movie star Amy Adams. I know my granddaughter pointed out how many WB shows she guest starred in and look at her now.

Re-watching S2 in order to prep and get ready for S3's re-watch in October. So far, I still love it, and that might not change, even though I still have some episodes to re-watch.

I voted still love it. Season two is great - I think it's a definitely improvement over season one - another good building block. One episode I've saw get a lot of hate only (not nessecarily this board) is 'How to Make a Quilt Out of Americans' - I adore this episode!

What do you enjoy about this episode. Was this the only time on the show, the sisters ever went on a road trip, not counting orbing.

I loved the road trip aspect of the episode, and also loved hearing about Grams' coven from Aunt Gale. I think this episode was important because it explored aging. Gale and her friends were so desperate to be young they were essentially willing to put the three sisters in danger, possibly even risk their lives. That being said, I just realized I don't think the show portrayed mature women very well... Why were all the older characters so bitter and portrayed as unhappy (Grams, Gale, Elise), etc. I think the only older woman depicted as happy in the show was Madame Theresa from "The Eyes Have It".
