Based on my earlier poll, but wondering about just Season Seven now.
What was your reaction towards Season Seven the first time you watched it and what is your reaction now? Just choose one choice.

I liked it the first time around. It was better than season six. I liked the episodes with Drake and Zankou was truly a frightening villain. I was, however, embarrassed by the episodes where it centered around their menstrual cycles or where Piper had all those extra arms, or when Phoebe rode naked on a horse. But I remember liking certain episodes a lot, even if the whole season wasn't my favorite.
A few years ago I tried to watch my favorite episodes from this season again, and it just wasn't working for me. I liked bits and pieces of them, but I actually found myself getting bored and doing other things at the same time as watching.
Here's something that I noticed that may not be true for others. In the latter half of the show, all of the actors seem a lot more comfortable and used to their roles. Which is good, except that they seem so much that way that I can see parts of the actors themselves through their characters. For instance, in the first few seasons of the show, I saw Phoebe Halliwell. In the last few seasons, I saw Alyssa Milano playing Phoebe Halliwell. And sometimes it didn't feel like Charmed anymore, but felt like another show trying to replicate what they thought Charmed was. I hope I'm not offending anyone who enjoys the latter half of the show. It's just what it seems like to me because I don't connect with those seasons very well.

This one reminds me a lot of Season Two. The first time I watched Season Two, I loved the main story, but now don't like it because I know what's coming. In this one, the first time I watched it, although I enjoyed the main story, the fact that I don't like any of the sisters (thanks to S6), meant I didn't enjoy it as much as I could've. It also reminds me of Season Three, Four and Five where it's like half-seasons where I really like one half and really dislike the other half. In this case I found the first half either boring or embarrassing while enjoying the second half because Drake brought back my Phoebs! She was actually thinking of innocents rather than herself! The first time I like Phoebe since 'Sleuthing with the Enemy'! I also loved her connection with Kyra and still find myself wishing that Charmed's spin-off had been about a demon who wanted to be mortal (total opposite of Cole, the way Drake was so much more what I wish Cole had been like) and her lover, Phoebe Halliwell. And then there's the episode that *so* should've been the series finale... *sigh*
And my opinion hasn't changed much.
Unlike Season Two, there are certain episodes that I just can't stand, but if I just watch certain standalone episodes, I thoroughly enjoy them, so I'm voting still like it.

Well I haven't seen this season in sometime. I did catch some reruns on television. And loving the later parts of season 7, and enjoying them when caught Scry Hard and Little Box of Horrors on television. If only the show ended here, It would of been a more satisfying ending to Charmed than season 8.
But with saying that, some episodes I didn't enjoy. Voted still like it.

There are only a couple of stand out episodes including Witchness Prtotection, Imaginary Fiends, Death Becomes Them and SWTWGoes. In its entirety it was ok to watch. The sisters become more likeable again and the writing picked up.
I remember starting to like Charmed again in Season 7

I was watching Season 7, Disc 1 yesterday and remembered how bad the majority of Season 7 was!
I probably do like a third of all episodes which puts it in the same boat as Season 5 for me.
Which make me think that Season 7 is pretty over rated, just a notch up from 6 and 8.

And like comparing S5 with S4 (or for me, comparing S3 & S4 with S1 & S2), S6 and S8 just make S7 seem better than it probably would be all on its own.

Agreed, season seven felt the most charmed out of the later seasons. The sisters were likeable and very good standalones. The only thing I would change is more energy, Zankou for a whole season and making the inspector either more likeable or a better villian in her own right.

I have contemplated dears rewatching this season again, something I have considered doing for a while. Of course I will be skipping a few episodes namely Imaginary Fiends and Freaky Phoebe. Starting from Carpe Demon and ending with Something Wicca This Way Goes? but I never could go through with it. But maybe I could get my family to watch along, and it *might* be enough to get me to do it.
But with the upcoming 20th anniversary next year, maybe I might revisit it, and rewatch the show backwards and save the earlier episodes for closer to the date, and start with the seasons I have not liked for years. We'll see.

I really like Paige in this Season and Phoebe is more likeable than Seasons 5 and 6, especially with Drake and putting innocence first.
I started with Styx Feet under, as I don't like the first 4 episodes of Season 7 and have just finished 7 Year Witch.
I had some really teary moments rewatching and it made me remember that some of the special guests in this season were amazing including Kyle, Zankou, the Seer etc.

I agree totally that starting with 'Styx Feet Under' makes this season better, especially if you start it right after 'Witch Way Now?' and pretend that there's a sign that says, "Two Years Later..." *sigh* If only. I'd enjoy that last half of S7 *so* much more if I could forget S5 & S6!

I'd enjoy that last half of S7 *so* much more if I could forget S5 & S6! I just started watching Disc 5 of my old Charmed DVD collection. It's been years since I watched it on the big screen! Scry Hard is a great episode where Zankou is actually the best demon we've seen since The Seer which was wayyyy back in Season 4. This episode is straight after 'The Seven Year Witch' 150th, which was also entertaining especially with Drake and Cole reprising his role, but a little too elder and exhaustingly Piper&Leo focused for my liking. I'm on to Little Box of Horrors which I remember not liking too much when I first watched it... in my 2nd to last year in high school, about 17 years old, downloaded through a BitTorrent client at 2A.M on a Monday morning in New Zealand! That's how much of a fan I was! Anyway, Little Box of Horrors does remind me of an even better episode, Season 3's Sin Francisco. This is why I like Season 7... although IMO, not as well written as Seasons 1 - 4, it's almost if not actually tied with Season 4 and can be argued, better than Season 5), it tries to be consistent with the previous seasons (Woogy, Seasons 1 - 6 but by this point, the series has been dragged through too much mud to actually recover None the less, good villans - Zankou and individual episodic bad guys, as well as the sisters actually looking and feeling like sisters, some great guest stars like Billy Zane and Charisma Carpenter, an accepting of Wyatt and Chris and references to Prue (it's felt a lot more in this Season and spoken about moreso than in Season 5, 6 and 8), the Woogy/Nexus, Shadow, Cole (and his appearance in the 150th), a new Seer, Magic School (sigh), Gideon, flashbacks to even Andy's death in "Charmedagedon", a Patty-Victor-Grams episode (which I feel had the opportunity to be the "That 70's Episode-De Ja Vu / Morality Bites-Apocalypse Not / All Halliwell's Eve-All Hell Breaks Loose-PreWitched / Charmed Again P1-Womb Raidar / A Witch In Time-Sense & Sensibility / Chris Crossed top 2 episode of Season 7, which I guess as the finale in Season 7 and Witchness Protection. It's not such a bad season overall. Little Box of Horrors just finished playing on my DVD player. Not a bad episode reminds me of a great Season 2 filler. I like how Paige starts preparing to be a whitelighter and is developing a relationship with the Elders, an ID seperate to piper & Phoebe and she's going to meet Henry. I don't like the idea of whitelighters and having the Elders shown to much but this episode is an exception and I like ALL the sisters in this episode, Paige most of all. So far, ratings on Season 7's Disc 5 DVD : Scry Hard = B+ Little Box of Horrors = B Next is Freaky Phoebe - Wish my lucky - I think I'm going to need it for The Importance of Saving Phoebe Part 7. hehe!

I'm very pleased to see you are enjoying the season dear. I am curious to see what I think of the season, I've been very hesitant to re-watch anything in S4-8. I'm giving just season 7 a try, for when I decide and have time to do so. But that is the best way to watch S7 starting from that point. Now I plan to start from Carpe Demon through Something Wicca This Way Goes and perhaps skipping Imaginary Fiends & Freaky Phoebe. I might consider going earlier in S7, but I think this is a good first try at rewatching some of the later seasons for now.

I was just taken a back by how much I did like/didn't mind Season 7. It's actually great to watch this season playing in the background while your doing the housework or doing some work on your laptop. Season 7 brings back that soft lighting they used in the earlier seasons onto the actors/actresses' faces and there is something very final about this season. Had Charmed ended here, it would have been on a high note. However, I don't like how they explained how Astral Projection worked in the finale. I thought it was a little bit of an injustice to Prue and not really in her honour. I do prefer the Charmed Ones living happily ever after in Season 8's Finale (slightly) over the sisters and Leo having secret identities for the rest of their lives. But that is just me dear. But I can see what you mean by an ending with them having different identities may not appeal to you. Something Wicca This Way Goes was a good final but a few problems and continuity errors dear, so I wouldn't give it a full A+. But I did find it much more enjoyable than Forever Charmed. So I can't wait to see what I think of it and S7 when I rewatch one time next year.

Season 7 is a mixed bag.
If they merged Season 7's Zankou Arc (second half of S7) with Season 5 (cutting out the first half Cole arc) you can have yourself 5 seasons of Charmed. I know people like to do this in a re-watch, watch Season 5's second half and Season 7's second half, skipping Season 5 first half, Season 6 and Season 7 first half.

So I've been rewatching S7. Just finished Once in a Blue Moon and I'm really liking this season and I'm probably in the minority in 3 major opinions. I think the sisters are back to themselves in this season and have come back from what they had become in S6, secondly I don't think Leo ever got over Chris's death. It affected him badly and did make him vulnerable and thirdly, I actually liked the Phoebe/Leslie relationship which I think could have worked out had Phoebe been honest with him.

Although it just hit me, that probably not for a lot of fans, but for me, if there was a way of combining the first half of S4 with the last half of S7 (with Oded Fehr playing the Source and Julian McMahon playing Drake and skipping out any mention of kids, especially Phoebe's baby-daddy search) you'd probably have what for me would be the best ending of Charmed. Hmmm...I think I have the start of a new fanfic...gonna have to think on that one. If anyone wants to join with me in writing this one (I always do best writing with someone since I'm very good at coming up with ideas and editing, but not with the actual writing), let me know.
