So obviously there were many things that happened in season one that would no longer happen or be changed in later seasons. I was wondering in Wicca Envy how Leo gave the Charmed Ones their powers back? He healed the book as if it were a person and the writing re-appeared but I am confused how.

Actually, this wasn't the last time he healed an inanimate object. He heals pipes in a later season.

And the P3 sign also which confused me slightly if his power only was supposed to work on humans unless the book being an extention of the Charmed Ones themselves healed their powers also once it was healed itself.

I forgot about him healing the pipes and the sign. Did they ever say the healing only worked on humans, or maybe I just assumed? If he could repair inanimate objects I would think he would repair the clock or every time something was broken in the house.

Or the sisters could've just used the vanishing spell all the time to repair anything broken saving them tons of money on repair costs.

A lot of the stuff Leo did in seasons 1 & 2 as a whitelighter were contrary to things he did in later seasons. Like I remember in P3H2O Leo wouldn't heal Piper's poison ivy infection when she asked him to. He said he could only heal her if the elders allowed him to. Which we know that never stopped him. But on the other hand he may have refused to heal Piper that time on purpose because of her being with Dan at the time.
Leo also used to search for stuff through the BOS quickly magically, using his whitelighter powers. similar to the way Phoebe did in "A painted world" when she cast the smart spell and would magically flip through the BOS. In later seasons we never saw leo do that anymore. Though he never really read or opened the BOS himself in later seasons

That's what I liked about healing from Leo though and what should've stayed and been the main premise of it when he could only heal if the Elders allowed it or when the sisters fought evil because then it meant that, that power had limits and could not be used all the time for silly little things like when Piper cut her finger a couple times which shouldn't have happened obviously.

Oh yes, I didn't like how he was able to heal almost anything later. I truly only felt it should of been just due to fighting evil. Although I still wished he had limits, like if one of the sisters received a very minor injury from fighting evil, maybe it shouldn't have been healed all the time like that. If a sister had a broken arm or leg due to a demon attack, then let them have one. They are not going to die, and heal naturally. Sometimes it did take the sense of danger out of the show when they can be healed every time, and I quite liked seeing some injury and wounds at the end of an episode. Makes me know that they are only human. I also didn't think Leo should of been able to heal a pipe. Now that is just silly dears. But yes dears, maybe it should have been more restricted in how Leo could heal and only if the Elders allowed and showing his powers had limits.

I feel like a broken bone he should be able to heal because it would be hard to fight demons but if there is a paper cut or something minor than I wouldn't want him to be able to heal that.

True there about Leo healing the broken bone part especially with Phoebe whom before getting Empathy only had martial arts as way of fighting evil bar levitation obviously which she couldn't do if any arms or legs were broken of course though there was the time season 2 end when Phoebe sprained her foot or ankle and Leo didn't heal that and Piper bandaged it up evidently.

Thanks for that reminder. Phoebes sprained ankle was the other instance that I was trying to remember where Leo didn't heal . Seems like back then if the injury wasn't obtained during a demon battle or while working on a magical case he wouldn't heal it. Including things like a common cold, headache etc. Maybe after Leo Married Piper the elders lifted that rule or Leo just didn't care anymore

Yeah it seemed like once they married and had kids the Elders got put on the backboard along with their rules and regulations.

Well I do like that it has to only be in demon fights, so an injury cannot be healed just because one of the sisters had an accident. That I do like.
But I didn't like how they did it later. Appears that once Leo got married to Piper with kids, the rules went out the door.

The rules went out the door on a lot of things Granny because the writers had no one continually checking past seasons or anything.

I get that the first season they are testing the waters and decided some things they wanted to change but when they make a big point in the first three seasons then abandon it later without reason it just becomes bad writing.

Yet still, why establish rules in the first seasons and then all abandon when not needed in the storyline? I know it's a show but still weird if you ask me.

Maybe having different writers later on who didn't know what had transcribed already done that possibly which's why it's always good to employ someone from the start who handles continuity so that they can advise new people on things and keep their show running smoothly.

I agree that Leo should not have been able to heal everything. It does present the sisters as being more relatable if every little injury isn't magically dealt with.
Maybe there could have been a restriction on Leo's powers and that of all whitelighters that they can only heal a certain amount in a certain time. So if a sister was extremely hurt, Leo could heal her, but it would then take a while for his powers to recharge. Perhaps after healing very extensive injuries, he could only heal minor ones for a few hours. Or if two sisters were badly hurt, he could only heal them halfway until his powers recharged, and then he could heal them the rest of the way. It puts a limit on their ability to do everything, and it might actually make me scared for them other than just knowing that Leo can heal anything and everything.
