Moving
this lovely conversation, into this thread. As I feel it fits this thread, better.
The other part of our conversation, I'll have to find another place for it, but it's an interesting conversation.
He never lied about it. He didn't tell them, sure, and he decieved them, sure, but he didn't lie. He even states in Part 1 to Phoebe:
Phoebe: You knew the Titans were after the Elders, didn't you? Why didn't you tell us?
Chris: I told you, there's some things I can't tell you. Some things you need to figure out on your own.
Part of the definition of "deceive" is something that isn't true. And, if something isn't true, it's false which is what lies are, untrue things.
He (specifically) said that Paige was to "die that day", the minute he orbed in. There's NO WAY he'd be able to go to Paige for money, if she's dead. I don't see how you're getting the idea that he can still get money from Paige, if she's dead...perhaps, you can explain it to me, more/better. I'm NOT understanding the correlation.
It just doesn't click for me. There are at least eleven proposed theories of time-travel documented today. In Charmed, about 4 of them are used interchangeably and even repurposed by the writers to fit the plot of the episode. It's not a reach to say that when Chris saved Paige, his past began to change to align with the now altered version of his timeline. So yes, in his initial timeline, Paige was dead. As he changed it, with Paige being alive, his past was re-written with her apart of it, and thus, this version of Chris now has memories of going to Paige for money, since Paige is now alive in his current timeline.
What you're saying doesn't "click for me". There's NO way Chris' memories are now altered into a NEW future world where he now has an alive Paige, to go to for money merely because he saved Paige from the Titans, then. It LITERALLY makes NO sense!
It's more believable that he lied 'cause we've seen him lie/manipulate/deceive (ALL forms of LYING) to gain an advantage/edge, in the past and work on his plan to protecting the future. Piper even called Chris out for forcing Leo into the Elder position 'cause it was the ONLY way for Chris to be a part of the Charmed Ones lives, as THEIR Whitelighter, and he can't do that with Leo around. It was the same angle Gideon did to eliminate Leo, from the picture.
So, again, only ONE of these is the TRUTH. They both CANNOT be at true, at the same time:
1) Paige died the day she was turned into stone. There's no way in HELL Dead Paige would be able to give Chris money.
2) Paige did NOT die the day of she was turned into stone. Thus, it would be more believable that Chris would turn to her for money, as she's alive to do so.
She cannot die in THIS Chris' timeline world, the DAY of the Titans attack PRIOR to his birth, only to NOW have memories about her merely because he rescued her. That makes NO sense to me. Not even in this show about magic. It makes WAY better sense, that he lied about certain (not everything, mind you) things, to manipulate situations to go in his favor. S6E10 "Chris-Crossed" pretty much SOLIDIFIES the fact, that he's BEEN lying!
I should've rephrased-- "I can't say 100% for certain that anything he said
in-regards to Paige being dead in his future was a lie, since it wasn't clarified or canonically stated so in the show." I disregard the other examples as that's not pertaining to the immediate speculation at-hand; whether or not Paige being alive in his future was a lie.
Paige, for sure, is dead in this timeline Chris' future but NOT because of the Titans. For what little time he had with Paige, while she was alive, is still enough time for Paige to give Chris money. Versus, Paige dying PRIOR to Chris' birth via the day the Titans attacked.
We have two statements that clarify Paige is dead in Chris' future:
S5E22 "Oh My Goddess, Pt 1" - Paige was killed by the Titans (and unable to be turned to, for money)
S6E10 "Chris-Crossed" & S6E18 "Spin City" - Paige was killed by non-Titans. Whatever little time Chris had with Paige is enough for him to turn to her, for money.
Seeing, as how Chris said Paige died the DAY OF, is a little too on the nose, for me, to be true and just a rouse to manipulate the Charmed Ones.
And, once again, S6E10 "Chris-Crossed" Chris ADMITS to LYING. The show doesn't tell us which EXACT things he said were lies, but the fact that he called himself a "Whitelighter", in S5E22 "Oh My Goddess, Pt 1" but then S6E10 "Chris-Crossed" tells us he's only a HALF-Whitelighter, now...PROVES that he LIED in S5E22 "Oh My Goddess, Pt 1".
Which means (AGAIN), only ONE of these things are true:
1) Paige died the DAY OF the Titans attacked. Again, Chris CANNOT turn to Paige, for money, here.
2) Did NOT die the DAY OF the Titans attacked. CAN turn to Paige, for money, here.
Paige (obviously) did NOT die the DAY OF the Titans attacked. Especially, the way the tour guide expressed how the Charmed Ones got vanquished, themselves, IMPLIES Paige died in unison/alongside her sisters. As we know, Piper dies early, too. I'm going to (also) assume whatever got Piper, got Phoebe & Paige, too. "The event" (whatever it is) knicked them, thus Chris can no longer go to Paige for money, like he could've done so, prior. But, he wouldn't be able to go to Paige, for money, if he was not in her future, at all, to begin with.
I can accept that as your opinion, but I'll die with another one. Paige could've easily been killed in his original timeline, and thus becoming the Paige he goes to for money. Time-travel is so fickle that there's no way to poke holes in that theory.
I'll throw a bone and say maybe Paige did die the DAY OF the Titans attacked, if he only wanted to get back at Paige's crack against him, and that that was a lie about him going to Paige, for money, in the future. 'Cause immediately after he deflected, when Paige pressed for more answers.
But, I will NOT accept that BOTH statements are true, at the same time via Paige died the DAY OF the Titans attacked but Chris can still go to Paige, for money. I will NOT accept that, on any level, whatsoever. It's either one or the other.
