Es, your opening sounds perfect! I wish it could happen. I would watch and enjoy the hell out of it. Gotta somehow get that idea to Shannen!

That's great, except it's not what they want. They want something in the current time, not in the past. Although this would make for a very interesting backstory. I was suggesting she woke up from her coma in the present. Though 15 or 16 years is a long time to be in a coma 🙂

I would love it if this were true and actually happened but I don't see it going beyond the article. The stars never seem to align with this show with the cast.

The more I've been thinking about it, the more I cringe about how they are going to F*** it up. If only Wyatt and Chris are shipped off to boarding school leaving the 3 remaining sisters with their magical daughters... But still I don't know. I lost my faith in the show a long time ago. Its hard to build that hope up again!

And as soon as you include Wyatt and Chris, you can't include Prue since then it would be part of the original timeline (Shannen would never be a ghost or a whitelighter), so that's why you have to skip them. And you include them you almost have to include Paige and all of the cousins, That's just not what Shannen and Alyssa seem to have in mind. But then again, maybe they do. I wouldn't like it as much, but, well, we'll just have to see.

I like the idea of showing a what could have been scenario of all three surviving All Hell Breaks Loose. I also like the idea of each of the sisters having a daughter, and that none of the fathers are the same type of person: whitelighter, half-demon, mortal.
It would be cool if they picked up the story in the present day with a lot of similarities to how the original started. Maybe Phoebe and her daughter moved away from San Francisco and are now moving back into the Manor until they find their own place, while Prue and Piper have both recently been living in the Manor together with their daughters.

I love the idea of it being similar to the very first episode so much. With one sister and their daughter returning to the manor after having been moved away for a year or two, and wouldn't it be more fun if one of the daughters is dating someone who turns out to be a young Warlock and is secretly working with their father to take down the Charmed Ones. With all the throw backs to the first episode with Piper making comments on not being the first in the family to fall for a Warlock. Phoebe bringing up 17 years ago when she found the book of shadows for the first time. Maybe even a new cop like Andy working on the case of a murder by a Warlock. Maybe you can have Darryl's son being the new Darryl following in his fathers footstep working on it. Which again will make reference or mention to Darryl, and he could make a cameo. But I think using Darryl's son would work better if this were a series focused on the three cousins of the Charmed Ones, than a series focused on the three original sisters as the stars. So just change it into someone else as a throw back to Andy. It would be the perfect way to reboot the very first episode set in present day.

Es, your opening sounds perfect! I wish it could happen. I would watch and enjoy the hell out of it. Gotta somehow get that idea to Shannen! I just *love* how this potential series has brought us all together and with so many amazing concepts, ideas and how this new series could look like. Es, I would watch that series too dear, especially if it is more in line with the first three seasons and doesn't rely heavily on anything that came after it. I like the idea of showing a what could have been scenario of all three surviving All Hell Breaks Loose. I also like the idea of each of the sisters having a daughter, and that none of the fathers are the same type of person: whitelighter, half-demon, mortal. I love the idea of the first episode basically being similar to the original first episode 'Something Wicca This Way Comes', with all the little references. Maybe even the tile of that first episode could have some reference to the first episode too, but we already got that with Something Wicca This Way Goes, and then it would have to be something like Something Wicca This Way Again! dears. Which *would* be a nice little nod dears to the first episode of Charmed.

I've gotta admit that I *don't* like the idea of following the first episode that much. Any reboot that does that is doomed to failure because fans expect the rest of the series to also just be redoes of the original episodes with slight twists and because the fans already know what's going to happen, they get bored.
The other problem with that is that it would very quickly become the daughters who would become the stars of the show, not the Charmed Ones, and I don't think anyone would like that.
No, it needs to be different.
Personally I like the idea of the three cousins all being born on Wyatt's special day and they're now old enough to start learning about their heritage after getting to have a "normal" childhood, all growing up together at the Manor, while the sisters have continued to protect innocents - with us getting to see them do that, then come back and use what they did to give the daughters another lesson.

That wouldn't keep my interest if the first episode just rehashes the pilot of Charmed. If you want a nod to the first episode just have the sisters reference finding the book for the first time 17 years ago or something. I don't want it to be so similar to the original first episode with the plot being too similar. It has to be different or it will be boring.

The more I think of the idea, It does seem too much like redoing the first episode. Your right Es. Speaking of on twitter Holly responded to yet another person asking about this reboot, and again she went she has no idea and is normally the last person to know everything. Yet Alyssa and Shannen haven't said anything at all about it still. While Shannen has liked comments that are related to Prue not returning to Charmed. I'm still on the fence, I really hope this is something true but we can only take it with a grain of salt until something more official is known by E News, TV Guide or Deadline sites.

I must be in the minority in that I really wouldn't like to see a "could've been" or "alternate timeline" reboot. I get the temptation to discard some of the absolute dross from S5-8, but it just seems too much like fanfic for me and I don't think anyone except us hardcore fans would enjoy it. I'd prefer Piper, Phoebe and Paige going on some sort of mission to save Prue's soul, thus finally bringing about the four sisters meeting for the first time together. The Charmed Tribe can stay at home though

It's looking more and more like a lot of this was a rumor started after we learned that prue and Alyssa made up 🙁

I have to admit, I was thinking earlier that it would be annoyingly hilarious if this was revealed to just be a rumor and that Alyssa and Shannen haven't spoken to each other about a reboot at all.
Personally though, I'm fine with whatever at this point, three sisters, four sisters, any combination of the four as far as I'm concerned will get me watching. Main timeline, alternate timeline, acting like some seasons didn't exist timeline, as long as I have some new Charmed material to watch and discuss, I will be pleased (unless its rubbish).
Plus I think it will do wonders for the Cafe, a new Charmed show would bring (hopefully an influx of new members, since we're really the only Charmed forum left, it would be great to have big discussions on what is coming next, who might come back etc, I'd just like some confirmation from someone, whether its going ahead or not, put us out of our misery!

The Charmed Tribe can stay at home though You mean like a situation where prues soul is in someone's possession like Cole's father was? So we would have a series where the other three sisters try to save her from whoever has her? Maybe the necromancer who has dominion over the dead was resurrected once again unkownst to the sisters, and then after years of saving his energy and acquiring enough power is able to go after and gain possession of prue in retaliation against Penny. And penny now comes to the sisters for help in getting prue back.

Charmed was good in the hey day of the early 2000s but I doubt a show like that would survive in 2017. What Network would they even put it on?
If put on the CW I doubt it brings in over 2 million viewers given their most popular supernatural show Supernatural is on bringing in 2 million viewers. Thus they won't have the same budget as the original Charmed did as Charmed before cancellation ratings succeeded Supernatural best ratings. Also I don't see the CW getting rid of any of their other shows to replace it with Charm. The only time slots available are the crappy ones like Friday or 9:00 Wednesday.
Any other network and charmed would be cancelled after season 1. Grimm was cancelled after bringing in 5 million viewers on average which is what Charmed use to bring in. Fantasy shows on ABC do horrible in ratings currently. Even the popular Once upon a time is struggling to keep its head over water.
My point is I doubt alot of Networks are willing to take the gamble on a Charmed reboot, continuation or Spin off. It is expensive and not really worth it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For me if your going for a reboot just do it in comic book form. It cost way less money and you can do way more. You also don't have to worry about actress drama. Hell even book form can be more successful if actually promoted. Once you get the books and comics to be successful you can enter Movie deals and TV deals. You have more income to play around the show with.

Considering that TheCW was going to do a "Charmed" prequel series, I would say...TheCW would put it on lol. Grimm has been on for 5 years and is on a bigger network. Charmed was on a pre-cursor to TheCW. Technology has advanced a lot from Charmed's day, the budget would be perfectly fine. They chose telekinesis/molecular stasis/premonitions for a reason, they aren't very expensive powers to portray. Charmed does well in the reruns which is exactly why a studio would want to bring it back. They probably wouldn't want the S5-8 Charmed, but give them a S3 type Charmed and it would be golden.

Bull crap. Just because they do good in streaming doesn't mean they would do good on a network. Riverdale does amazing in streaming and yet failed to bring 1 million views consistently. A show doing well in streams does not equate to it doing well in network ratings. There is a countless number of shows that do well in streaming but do horrible in ratings. Look at Beauty and the Beast on CW or Jane The Virgin. Their ratings sucked barely bringing in 1 million viewers but did well in streaming. Same with Secret circle and Ringer. Like let's be realistic and not idealistic when talking about the success if charm. If the networks felt confident in a charm Spin off or continuation it would have been done by now. It never gets past the talk stage. Also alot of people like The Paige, piper and Phoebe trio more than the Prue, Piper and Phoebe trio. Charmed did 5 seasons with Paige and only 3 with Prue. However it learly isn't getting past the talk phase.
