tvline.com/2018/10/20/charmed-spoilers-reboot-original-connections-new-interview/Charmed Boss: Can Harry Be Trusted? And Who Are the Sisters' Fathers?Just as I expected dears, this *truly* is a reboot of S4-S8, and nothing from S1-S3 or how they did things in those seasons, is making its way into this show. Looks like we'll have The Elders, Whitelighters, The Source, Demons, Magical Creatures all coming in. Looks like they have taken more mythology from S4-S8 over the earlier seasons. As much as we might hate Kern, his legacy on Charmed is creeping into this show dears. He left enough, that most of what *he* did is being used again. So they are adding magical creatures and mythology from S5-8. Wonder if the Satyr in this one is more secretive. They are in a small town after all. I hope they keep the mystery that Classic Charmed did in S1-4, and not S5-8. As you said, it is a small town. You cannot have them being open walking around. It makes me happier with how we handled it in one episode during Elemental Charmed using the Elements.

What?? Your kidding, and here I thought Mel and her girlfriend were going to be the major couple of S1. *Sigh* I would not be surprised they go for a love triangle. Then again maybe Mel's girlfriend being the Andy like character, splits up with her, because Mel doesn't tell her secret and she knows she's hiding something.

First Maggie and the new guy who is boyfriend to that Kapa whatever leader and now this? Did the writers just watch the original show and concluded Charmed fans are only interested in love triangles so let's stuff it in the reboot?

*sigh* That would be so disappointing if the only thing they pick up from Classic Charmed (S1-3) is the stupid triangle - Burge's biggest mistake.

Did the writers just watch the original show and concluded Charmed fans are only interested in love triangles so let's stuff it in the reboot? Seems the Kappa stuff is not going away. Episode 6 is titled Kappa Spirit. But since the show is set in college, and the entire main cast but the girlfriend detective are involved in some way shape or form in the college. It will be more college/teen-like than Classic Charmed. Which is funny, because the new Sabrina has its lead in high school, and its handling things better, in regards to love interests. Yet I find that show feels more adult than Charmed. But that all has to do with being on The CW than Netflix. Too bad, Charmed wasn't done on Netflix, all these love triangles and love interest stories would be toned down. Barely anything from Classic Charmed S1-S3 is in this show. I wonder if they have decided to ditch Warlocks completely, or are the Warlocks in this reboot what they call male witches. Since one of the fathers shows up in episode 9, guess we'll learn that truth then.

God, I hope that never happens. Using empathy to deflect fireballs was one of the most stupid things I have ever witnessed on "Classic Charmed". What on earth was Brad Kern thinking? Why not allow Maggie to be a telepath? She would be a lot more effect than being empathic. And she wouldn't have to find a way to "deflect fireballs". Good grief!
And also, an empath DOES NOT read minds. It reads or senses emotions. A telepath reads minds. Sigh! I see the same crappy bad writing is going to ruin this show, the way it ruined the first show.

I guess nobody does proper research. That's just as bad as witches burning not being hung for Salem witches which even Connie got wrong. But since it was said they'll get new powers. I'm sure they can't even get the original powers right or let them grow. They'll just keep throwing more at them. I question lots of decisions they did in the original with powers. But the reboot is so inspired by Classic Charmed, with Kern's horrible history. Seeing as they borrowed much more than him not Connie.

Warlocks that are portrayed as minor demons, instead of witches who had simply betrayed their calling for evil? That was another botched up piece of writing from Connie. And describing Paige's initial power as "telekinetic orbing", instead of what it truly was . . . teleportation? I guess I'll chalk that up to dear old Brad.

And describing Paige's initial power as "telekinetic orbing", instead of what it truly was . . . teleportation? I guess I'll chalk that up to dear old Brad. Jeremy was supposed to be a warlock but he felt and acted like a demon to me, same with the Rowe Coven, they had demonic faces. As much as I love S1 and S2, they had lots of errors. Also, Blinking was suddenly a warlock power in S2, but Melinda said Matthew got it from a witch unless she didn't know it was a warlock power, but I doubt that is what they intended. As much as I like Connie for what she created, she still was just as bad as Brad when it came to continuity. But it was their job to keep the facts straight and remember continuity for scripts, especially since each writer on the payroll has a different style and it isn't their job to check, that's the showrunners job right? Someone needed to check each script for continuity problems.

Not surprised. Charmed is a CBS produced show. They need the content. Since half the network are WB shows.
It also performs strong in DVR over the other two new shows as well.

Most people are not watching television live as they used too. It isn't just The CW, Network television, in general, is so down in viewership. Also streaming, watching online the Network sites and DVR, if you added all those figures to the Live ratings, I'm sure most shows will rise much higher.
Doesn't The CW also take this into account when renewing their shows? I know Netflix has streaming deals for International where they release some shows weekly on Netflix. But I think that is only for Riverdale and Dynasty. I'm just surprised that Charmed isn't one of them, considering it is a very huge on Netflix for Classic Charmed.

I've read in other sites that Charmed: The Rip-off has been given an order for a full 22-episode season, the only one of their 3 new series who got that order. I've also read that in most cases if a The CW series survives its first year, it's usually around for at least 3 years. So we may be stuck with this for a while...

So Hilltown sits on top of a Hellmouth (not exactly) but is a portal to hell which is why it attracks so many demons.
