I'm really not surprised since from what I've heard Charmed being a CBS production meant it was always going to be renewed. I think it does well or okay in digital and streaming too.
It looks like it is going to be around for at least four or five seasons.

Yeah, and I'm sure the younger crowd who never saw the original are watching on digital and streaming services.
Looks like we'll have to put up with it for a number of years. Not to worry, It will be interesting to see where it goes, even if I'm not watching, but to read your comments.

Well, I'm happy that those fans who are enjoying it can keep on watching (I'm still not, but I get to keep on reading comments here).
I wonder now that they know they have a second season this early when S1 hasn't even ended yet dears if they'll slow down the plotlines now. No need to rush through things.

Not sure where to post this.
But Upfronts was today. And we learned Charmed is moving to Fridays.
I can see why it was moved though. They had no where else to put it and they want All American on Mondays. So Charmed is where it is.
BEWARE SPOILERS AHEAD. UPFRONTS SPOILS S1 FINALE.
I'll admit Harry not being with a sister is why I adore him being just the Giles. This might either kill the show for me for good or they'll make them better than how they did Piper and Leo. Especially with the Elders now dead, we won't have that conflict with witches/whitelighters being together but we'll still get either way. It's just Harry is more a brother figure and the actors are 12 years apart and it just creeps me out.
Not sure what to think. We lose Galvin only for them to put Harry with Macy. LOL

I don't think a move to Fridays is a bad thing for the show. Fridays are less competitive and the show seems to do better in delayed viewing. Plus, Fridays will mean fewer breaks in the schedule for the awards shows, sporting fixtures etc. that happen on Sundays.
So many shows have been doing so well on Fridays now. Dynasty surprised me with a season 3 pick-up, Supernatural moved in and out of Fridays in the past, NBC has had success with The Blacklist and FOX had success with Last Man Standing this season on Fridays. CBS has also moved Magnum P.I. to Fridays with the always successful Hawaii Five-0 and Blue Bloods, so I think Fridays are now a strategic plan to keep shows on the air for those who prefer streaming afterward.
The thing that worries me is The CW not renewing its deal with Netflix. With it being a CBS show, we could see it move to CBS All Access which is where Classic Charmed is now or there may be an individual deal to get it on Netflix in the future, but it needs to be somewhere for streaming.
I'm not happy about Harry/Macy either. This feels like they're playing to fan service. I've seen the brother/sister relationship. The age difference doesn't bother me -- the characters have way more than 12 years between them haha! -- but I don't think this ship is one that will work. Just let Macy be single for a while.

That's a good point, it means we'll avoid all those breaks with award shows, sporting fixtures, and holidays.
And you might be right about delayed viewings.
This makes me feel better. I can see the DVR numbers being high, especially those who don't watch television Friday Nights. That is a concern. I still wonder how this is going to play out in general with CW/Netflix. Especially other shows like Riverdale and Dynasty where the Netflix has international deals. Does this Netflix deal affect everywhere even overseas deals? I'm not familar with how it works for Netflix outside of America/Canada? I hate this, and hate when fan service ruins a show. Seems to be typical of The CW, and why can't Macy be single for a while, and mourn Galvin, she lost her virginity to this guy, instead of waiting longer, and if he meant that much to her and she waited for the right guy, I hope she turns Harry down, and say she sees him as a brother only.
I just don't see this ship working, Harry just works as the brother, that it will feel weird. I thought him being with an Elder, was more interesting.

Yeah Macy should stay single and grieve for Galvin seeing how he was her first real love and sexual partner then being what would happen in RL too.
I dislike when shows immediately put characters with someone else as if the person they were with originally meant nothing in any sense.
Hopefully the reboot does what classic Charmed did with Prue mourning Andy make Macy relationship less for a year then involved season 3 if they put her with someone once she can move on again.
