PRESS RELEASES FOR ELEMENTAL CHARMED FROM THE CW AND CBS-TV

CRONE: Is Connie part of it with you assigning a writing team. Be kinda cool if you rewrote fantasy press releases with interviews.

Season 1, Episode 1: ”House of the Rising Warrens”

NEW SERIES PREMIERE — It isn't every day you wake up and discover that you're a witch from a long matriarchal line of witches, but sisters Piper and Phoebe Bennett discover that their somewhat ordinary life of being raised in San Francisco, CA, by their father, Victor, is about to become anything but ordinary.

When their grandmother, Prudence Warren, who has been living on the other side of the country in Salem, MA, has a premonition that a warlock who she had presumed was dead is back, and is going after Piper and Phoebe, she rushes to their rescue. With her are her older daughter, Piper and Phoebe's mother Patience Warren, and her younger daughter, their aunt Paige Warren. The three are too late to prevent the warlock from murdering Victor, but are able to vanquish the warlock before he can harm the girls. This is when Patience reveals to her daughters that their true last name is Warren just like hers, her mothers and her sister, but the girls grew up with the last name of Bennett to hide the fact that they are witches with bound powers. Their mother gives them the choice to have her unbind their powers. After seeing what happened to their father, that idea frightens the girls and they decide against this.

Piper and Phoebe try to forget what their mother told them as they help their family prepare their father’s wake and funeral, even as the younger set of sisters consider moving to Salem. During the funeral, the whole Warren family remember and mourn Victor through numerous flashbacks.

But when Piper and Phoebe see how their powers can help people, they finally agreed to embrace their destiny, and their powers are unbound. They agree to join their mother and aunt, who along with their grandmother who uses her premonitions and knowledge to guide her daughters and granddaughters. The five Warren women are now the Elemental Witches, setting out to protect those innocent of the knowledge of magic from the denizens of evil magic.

ES: YAY! I'm SOOO glad! ESPECIALLY with how badly I edited this!  I can't believe it!! So I went back and re-edited it.

CRONE: I was really connecting with the characters as the plot was well paced.

ES: WOW! One of the best compliments you can possibly give us!  Thank you!

CRONE: I loved the nod to the canon shows setting.

ES: The fun of this being virtual reboot, throwing in little Easter eggs.

CRONE: The backstory for why the younger Warrens were with their father who dies and how they got to discover their destiny was well done.

ES: Well, better done now that I edited it, but I'm glad you thought so.

CRONE: I loved that the three older Warrens gave them the choice.

ES: All of us hate the fact that the canon Halliwells never got that chance.

CRONE: I think Prudence having Premonitions fits.

ES: I'm glad you do.  We thought that at her age, it made sense that she could find out what was going to happen and then stay home while the others investigated before joining them for the vanquish.

CRONE: I like that their first warlock is one they thought was dead. I'm guessing the warlock finally found where Piper and Phoebe had been living after all those years.

ES: *nods* Exactly so.  Since you read the background, I can tell you that this was Sam, Paige's daughter Peyton's warlock father.  We get more into this in a latter season.

CRONE: I liked the touch of showing flashbacks with Victor at the funeral. The way I wished they did that with Prue.

ES: Amen - the fun of starting off this way - all the actors are happy...and since there's no Kern around, they can stay that way!

THE WARRENS ARE REUNITED IN SALEM. While still mourning the death of their father and getting used to the idea that they are part of a family of witches with powers, Piper and Phoebe move to their family’s ancestral home in Salem, MA. Piper has sold her restaurant in San Francisco and is now looking for a new restaurant in Salem. Paige thinks she should name it ‘Piper’s Brew’ but Piper doesn’t think that’s funny. In the meantime, Phoebe registers for classes at Salem College, happy that her credits have all transferred. Both decide to follow the family tradition and rather than being Piper Bennett and Phoebe Bennett, they are now Piper Warren and Phoebe Warren.

But not everything goes as well. Piper is used to living in her own apartment and Phoebe has lived in the dorms since she started college. Finding out that they are going to have to share a room, something they’ve never had to do, does not make either happy. But when both run into a warlock and they need their grandmother’s, mother’s and aunt’s help to vanquish her, they realize why Patience and Paige have always lived with their mother.

CRONE: I liked learning that they decided to follow family tradition with their last names.

CRONE: I can imagine sharing a room would be annoying for them, but glad that they finally learned why they are all under the same roof.

CRONE: Good episode for the Warrens to adjust to all living under the same roof. Felt like a transition episode for our younger Warrens to settle in. Good work Esmeralda.

EMMETT: A fun pilot episode. I especially liked that Piper and Phoebe didn't unbind their powers until much later once the funeral for their dad happened, and after they had time to accept it. I liked that the older Warrens gave them that choice.

Them living on the other side of the country to protect them from a warlock was great. I can't believe Paige was just living in the same city as Prue, Piper and Phoebe, it made no sense to me that Patty and Grams could just bump into Paige any time, it's so weird. They should have adopted her and had her living somewhere else, but so happens to move to San Francisco later.

EMMETT: I liked this one, a nice way to get the younger Warrens adjusting to their new home and all. I also liked that it wasn't so perfect when they moved in. I hated how Paige moved in, and next few episodes, they get along great. You'd think something that Paige did or how she likes to do things in her house, didn't tick off Piper or Phoebe.

Season 1, Episode 3: ”See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil, Taste No Evil, Touch No Evil”

BIRTHDAYS, HALLOWEEN AND A CURSED VASE — With Halloween approaching, Patience feels like a horrible big sister and a worse mother when she realizes that with everything going on with Victor's death and her daughters moving to Salem, she's completely forgotten her sister Paige's birthday was only a week ago, and her own daughter Phoebe's birthday is only a few days away. With help from Prudence and Piper, Patience decides to turn their Halloween party into a combined surprise birthday party for the two.

While looking in the attic for possible party favors, Piper stumbles on an antique vase. Prudence smiles when she sees it, explaining that it once belonged to their ancestor, Mary Ann Warren, the first Warren to be born in America.

At the party, both Paige and Phoebe are properly surprised, and the party goes well until before Prudence can stop her, Phoebe accidentally reads the inscription on the vase, releasing an ancient curse.

The next day, Phoebe loses her sense of sight in the middle of an important college exam; Piper loses her sense of taste while testing her cooking at work, Paige loses her sense of hearing and can't hear a word her latest client at work says; Patience loses her sense of touch and can't pick up her camera, while Prudence, home by herself, loses her voice so when a warlock attacks, she's unable to call for help.

Season 1, Episode 1: ”House of the Rising Warrens”

NEW SERIES PREMIERE — It isn't every day you wake up and discover that you're a witch from a long matriarchal line of witches, but sisters Piper and Phoebe Bennett discover that their somewhat ordinary life of being raised in San Francisco, CA, by their father, Victor, is about to become anything but ordinary.

When their grandmother, Prudence Warren, who has been living on the other side of the country in Salem, Mam has a premonition that a warlock who she had presumed was dead is back, and is going after Piper and Phoebe, she rushes to their rescue. With her are her older daughter, Piper and Phoebe's mother Patience Warren, and her younger daughter, their aunt Paige Warren. They three are too late to prevent the warlock from murdering Victor. Patience reveals to her daughters that their true last name is Warren just like hers, her mothers and her sisters, but the girls grew up with the last name of Bennett to hide the fact that they are witches with bound powers. Their mother gives them the choice to have her unbind their powers. After seeing what happened to their father, that idea frightens the girls and they decide against this.

Piper and Phoebe try to forget what their mother told them as they help their family prepare their father’s wake and funeral, even as the younger set of sisters consider moving to Salem. During the funeral, the whole Warren family remember and mourn Victor through numerous flashbacks.

But when Piper and Phoebe see how their powers can help people, they finally agreed to embrace their destiny, and their powers are unbound. They agree to join their mother and aunt, who along with their grandmother who uses her premonitions and knowledge to guide her daughters and granddaughters. The five Warren women are now the Elemental Witches, setting out to protect those innocent of the knowledge of magic from the denizens of evil magic.

EMMETT: A fun pilot episode. I especially liked that Piper and Phoebe didn't unbind their powers until much later once the funeral for their dad happened, and after they had time to accept it. I liked that the older Warrens gave them that choice.

ES: We hated the fact that Charmedom was just forced on Prue and Piper - Prue never got a chance to say, "No", and Piper didn't until S4!

EMMETT: Yeah I hated that, and the Charmed reboot gave them all a choice in the pilot episode.

I can't believe Paige was just living in the same city as Prue, Piper and Phoebe, it made no sense to me that Patty and Grams could just bump into Paige any time, it's so weird. They should have adopted her and had her living somewhere else, but so happens to move to San Francisco later. 

ES: That would've been SO much better!

THE WARRENS ARE REUNITED IN SALEM. While still mourning the death of their father and getting used to the idea that they are part of a family of witches with powers, Piper and Phoebe move to their family’s ancestral home in Salem, MA. Piper has sold her restaurant in San Francisco and is now looking for a new restaurant in Salem. Paige thinks she should name it ‘Piper’s Brew’ but Piper doesn’t think that’s funny. In the meantime, Phoebe registers for classes at Salem College, happy that her credits have all transferred. Both decide to follow the family tradition and rather than being Piper Bennett and Phoebe Bennett, they are now Piper Warren and Phoebe Warren.

But not everything goes as well. Piper is used to living in her own apartment and Phoebe has lived in the dorms since she started college. Finding out that they are going to have to share a room, something they’ve never had to do, does not make either happy. But when both run into a warlock and they need their grandmother’s, mother’s and aunt’s help to vanquish her, they realize why Patience and Paige have always lived with their mother.

EMMETT: I loved the title. And its a Halloween episode, so cool. I wished Charmed did more of those, or at least did them every two seasons, so we got one in S1, one in S3, one in S5 and one in S7.

ES: Especially because they're witches, I really wish Charmed had had a Halloween episode every season. Of course the timing on the show isn't the same in real life so that may be one reason why they didn't.  And I love 'All Halliwell's Eve' so much (one of my Top Ten episodes), I can't see them doing one that's better.

MAGIC COMES WITH A PRICE — Having vanquished their first warlock as the Elemental Witches, the three older Warrens agree that Piper and Phoebe need a crash course on how to handle their newfound gifts.

But Patience has to leave that to her mother and sister when she’s called to take pictures of a new crime scene. This leads her to Phoebe's campus where two teenagers were killed in a demonic-like ritual and a new friend of Phoebe's may be next.

Meanwhile, when two employees give Piper a hard time, Piper contemplates a little harmless spell to get back at them which her aunt, Paige, accidentally encourages, before both realize they’ve made a huge mistake. But Piper learns a valuable lesson from Prudence: all magic comes with a price, and Phoebe promises to learn from her sister’s mistake – and Phoebe, who was tempted to use a spell to help her friend, agrees to learn from her sister’s mistake..

EMMETT: A fun pilot episode. I especially liked that Piper and Phoebe didn't unbind their powers until much later once the funeral for their dad happened, and after they had time to accept it. I liked that the older Warrens gave them that choice.

ES: We hated the fact that Charmedom was just forced on Prue and Piper - Prue never got a chance to say, "No", and Piper didn't until S4!

EMMETT: Yeah I hated that, and the Charmed reboot gave them all a choice in the pilot episode.

ES: Give the rip-off credit for learning something from the classic.

EMMETT: Them living on the other side of the country to protect them from a warlock was great. I can't believe Paige was just living in the same city as Prue, Piper and Phoebe, it made no sense to me that Patty and Grams could just bump into Paige any time, it's so weird. They should have adopted her and had her living somewhere else, but so happens to move to San Francisco later. 

ES: That would've been SO much better!

EMMETT: I liked this one, a nice way to get the younger Warrens adjusting to their new home and all. I also liked that it wasn't so perfect when they moved in. I hated how Paige moved in, and next few episodes, they get along great. You'd think something that Paige did or how she likes to do things in her house, didn't tick off Piper or Phoebe.

ES: Or ticked off Prudence.  I can see her getting upset if Piper or Phoebe did something differently than how she'd want to do things.  And, of course, Patience would play mediator.

EMMETT: That makes sense. It's a fun dynamic to see explored, than just sisters. Why I think an idea like this is a better way to reboot Charmed, because it's somewhat different exploring the bonds between different generations than just sisters.

EMMETT: I loved the title. And it's a Halloween episode, so cool. I wish Charmed did more of those, or at least did them every two seasons, so we got one in S1, one in S3, one in S5 and one in S7.

ES: Especially because they're witches, I really wish Charmed had had a Halloween episode every season. Of course the timing on the show isn't the same in real life so that may be one reason why they didn't.  And I love 'All Halliwell's Eve' so much (one of my Top Ten episodes), I can't see them doing one that's better.

EMMETT: Yeah, that does make sense when it comes to real life, so timing never matched up with real time. I love AHE, myself, and yeah, it might not be able to top it.

I wish we got a Christmas episode though, at least one during the Prue Era, and one during the Paige Era.

ES: That would really have been nice. Although there's some wonderful Christmas stories in our Library - again, I doubt Kern (and I'm sure he would've written something special like that) could've done better.

EMMETT: I'll have to check them out closer to December, a good time to read fanfics like those.

EMMETT: Not at all, I'd love to be told that someone will reappear, just not when. I'm the type, who hates having false hope, thinking someone might appear or reappear when they never do. 

ES: *nods* Then be sure to ask me if you're wondering if someone will return.  I think I'll give you another spoiler.  That's one of the very few times when we actually cast the characters (letting the reader cast them however they want), but we have ALYSSA playing Mary Ann and SHANNEN playing her sister Jenna Warren!

EMMETT: That's sounds like so much fun that you cast them in roles. I also get a kick out of them playing sisters. Then playing ancestors who are dead is a better role for them to play, without taking over the new stars.

EMMETT: I love how the curse affects each Warren, even taste and touch. Poor Prudence, losing her voice to call for help. I'm sure she got away somehow. But that would be the most terrifying.

ES: Definitely!  That's the fun of doing press releases as compared to true fanfics - we can put them into scary situations without having to figure out how to get them out of it!

EMMETT: That is fun for the reader to have fun wondering how they get out of these messes.

PATIENCE WHO? — When Marcus, who had a high school crush on Paige, returns to Salem and is showcasing his work in an art and sculpture exhibition, she and Patience decide to go see his work. The sisters are shocked to see that half of Marcus' paintings and sculptures are of Patience, revealing that he actually had a secret obsession with Patience.

Later, two of the sculptures of Patience comes to life - each having full memories of Patience's life - and manage to trap the real Patience. They then wreak havoc on her life, both determined to become the supreme Patience. As her family try to figure out why Patience is acting nothing like herself, the women are shocked to find Patience's dead body, unaware that one of the fake Patiences has killed the other one and is now determined to kill the real Patience and take over her life forever.

It's also why we decided not to include any of the other stars - it made their appearances special. Although when I did my own version - "Elemental Charmed Done Es' Way" - I had fun casting Jennifer Rhodes as Prudence, Finola Hughes as Patience, Alyssa Milano as Piper (I cast Holly as Penelope Warren - I didn't like her named Mary Ann, but got out-voted - and Shannen remained as Jenna Warren), Emmalee Thompson as Piper and Megan Corletto as Phoebe.  I figured 20 years later, those 8-year-olds from 'That  70s Episode' were old enough to play them.  I also did it as an episode guide rather than press releases.

EMMETT: A fun pilot episode. I especially liked that Piper and Phoebe didn't unbind their powers until much later once the funeral for their dad happened, and after they had time to accept it. I liked that the older Warrens gave them that choice.

ES: We hated the fact that Charmedom was just forced on Prue and Piper - Prue never got a chance to say, "No", and Piper didn't until S4!

EMMETT: Yeah I hated that, and the Charmed reboot gave them all a choice in the pilot episode.

ES: Give the rip-off credit for learning something from the classic.

EMMETT: Them living on the other side of the country to protect them from a warlock was great. I can't believe Paige was just living in the same city as Prue, Piper and Phoebe, it made no sense to me that Patty and Grams could just bump into Paige any time, it's so weird. They should have adopted her and had her living somewhere else, but so happens to move to San Francisco later. 

ES: That would've been SO much better!

EMMETT: I liked this one, a nice way to get the younger Warrens adjusting to their new home and all. I also liked that it wasn't so perfect when they moved in. I hated how Paige moved in, and next few episodes, they get along great. You'd think something that Paige did or how she likes to do things in her house, didn't tick off Piper or Phoebe.

ES: Or ticked off Prudence.  I can see her getting upset if Piper or Phoebe did something differently than how she'd want to do things.  And, of course, Patience would play mediator.

EMMETT: That makes sense. It's a fun dynamic to see explored than just sisters. Why I think an idea like this is a better way to reboot Charmed, because it's somewhat different exploring the bonds between different generations than just sisters.

ES: That's what we thought when one of our members came up with the idea.

EMMETT: Thanks to that member who came up the idea, and you went with it, and here we are Elemental Charmed.

EMMETT: I loved the title. And it's a Halloween episode, so cool. I wish Charmed did more of those, or at least did them every two seasons, so we got one in S1, one in S3, one in S5 and one in S7.

ES: Especially because they're witches, I really wish Charmed had had a Halloween episode every season. Of course the timing on the show isn't the same in real life so that may be one reason why they didn't.  And I love 'All Halliwell's Eve' so much (one of my Top Ten episodes), I can't see them doing one that's better.

EMMETT: Yeah, that does make sense when it comes to real life, so timing never matched up with real time. I love AHE, myself, and yeah, it might not be able to top it.

I wish we got a Christmas episode though, at least one during the Prue Era, and one during the Paige Era.

ES: That would really have been nice. Although there's some wonderful Christmas stories in our Library - again, I doubt Kern (and I'm sure he would've written something special like that) could've done better.

EMMETT: I'll have to check them out closer to December, a good time to read fanfics like those.

EMMETT: Not at all, I'd love to be told that someone will reappear, just not when. I'm the type, who hates having false hope, thinking someone might appear or reappear when they never do. 

ES: *nods* Then be sure to ask me if you're wondering if someone will return.  I think I'll give you another spoiler.  That's one of the very few times when we actually cast the characters (letting the reader cast them however they want), but we have ALYSSA playing Mary Ann and SHANNEN playing her sister Jenna Warren!

EMMETT: That's sounds like so much fun that you cast them in roles. I also get a kick out of them playing sisters. Then playing ancestors who are dead is a better role for them to play, without taking over the new stars.

ES: And again that's what we thought.  And that way they only appear no more than a couple times each season. It's also why we decided not to include any of the other stars - it made their appearances special. Although when I did my own version - "Elemental Charmed Done Es' Way" - I had fun casting Jennifer Rhodes as Prudence, Finola Hughes as Patience, Alyssa Milano as Piper (I cast Holly as Penelope Warren - I didn't like her named Mary Ann, but got out-voted - and Shannen remained as Jenna Warren), Emmalee Thompson as Piper and Megan Corletto as Phoebe.  I figured 20 years later, those 8-year-olds from 'That  70s Episode' were old enough to play them.  I also did it as an episode guide rather than press releases.

EMMETT: You sure had fun with your own version, and your casting. Well done. And you are right, 20 years later, they would be the right age to play Piper and Phoebe.

ES: Oh, yes, the rest of Team Charmed Cafe (and we who started doing the re-watches still call ourselves that) did SUCH a fantastic job coming up with titles!  And unlike Classic Charmed, who I think came up with titles and then wrote episodes to fit them - hence why Paige, Chris, Billie and Christy got those names - we wrote the episode first and THEN came up with the title!

EMMETT: That is what I'd think any good writer would do: write the story first, and title it once it's done. Good thing you did it the other way.

ES: We hated how they totally forgot what they learned during 'Morality Bites' and were determined that our Elemental Witches wouldn't do that.

EMMETT: I'm glad to hear that. S6 was the all-time worst. 

ES: AMEN, although them murdering the Jenkinses in S8 comes in a close second.

ES: We had fun making their workplaces as settings as much as the Manor.

ES: That they did.  I think that was due to having their budget cut so much by The WB.  I'm glad we didn't have to worry about such things.

EMMETT: Budget cuts really did affect the show didn't it. I'm glad in fanfics and virtual series, you don't need to worry about that.

EMMETT: This was a fun story, with the sculptures of Patience coming to life with her memories, and trapping the real Patience. 

ES: We realized we didn't have an episode that starred Patience, so Summer wrote this one.  I think she did a great job with it.

EMMETT: I sure agree, and so glad you made sure to do that here. So each Warren has their own episode as the star.

ES:    We did our best to make sure that not one Warren outshone the others.  We hated how first Canon Prue, then Canon Phoebe, then Canon Piper did that.

THE HEX OF DEATH — After going through several managers for her new restaurant, Piper thinks she's found the perfect candidate, unaware that her new employee is actually a warlock who's serving food with a secret ingredient: a hex. At the same time, Paige is helping a client going through a custody battle for their son, unaware that her client's ex-partner is Piper's new manager...

Matters take a turn for the worst when the warlock learns that Piper and Paige are witches, and places a hex on the two of them, causing them to become greatly ill. As Prudence, Patience, and Phoebe try to find a solution to stop the warlock, Prudence coaches Phoebe as she tries to writes her very first spell.

(Note from ES: Oh, yes! Including this works fantastically!  And as you said, it keeps this skyscraper from growing too large.

EMMETT: A fun pilot episode. I especially liked that Piper and Phoebe didn't unbind their powers until much later once the funeral for their dad happened, and after they had time to accept it. I liked that the older Warrens gave them that choice.

ES: We hated the fact that Charmedom was just forced on Prue and Piper - Prue never got a chance to say, "No", and Piper didn't until S4!

EMMETT: Yeah I hated that, and the Charmed reboot gave them all a choice in the pilot episode.

ES: Give the rip-off credit for learning something from the classic.

EMMETT: Them living on the other side of the country to protect them from a warlock was great. I can't believe Paige was just living in the same city as Prue, Piper and Phoebe, it made no sense to me that Patty and Grams could just bump into Paige any time, it's so weird. They should have adopted her and had her living somewhere else, but so happens to move to San Francisco later. 

ES: That would've been SO much better!

I'm hoping you liked our premiere episode that you decide to keep reading and reviewing!

EMMETT: I liked this one, a nice way to get the younger Warrens adjusting to their new home and all. I also liked that it wasn't so perfect when they moved in. I hated how Paige moved in, and next few episodes, they get along great. You'd think something that Paige did or how she likes to do things in her house, didn't tick off Piper or Phoebe.

ES: Or ticked off Prudence.  I can see her getting upset if Piper or Phoebe did something differently than how she'd want to do things.  And, of course, Patience would play mediator.

EMMETT: That makes sense. It's a fun dynamic to see explored than just sisters. Why I think an idea like this is a better way to reboot Charmed, because it's somewhat different exploring the bonds between different generations than just sisters.

ES: That's what we thought when one of our members came up with the idea.

EMMETT: Thanks to that member who came up the idea, and you went with it, and here we are: Elemental Charmed.

ES: Yup!

EMMETT: It would be so cool, if someone attempted to do this with Charmed with Prue, Piper, Phoebe, Patty and Penny making up the Elemental Witches or Power of Five.

Season 1, Episode 3: ”See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil, Taste No Evil, Touch No Evil”

EMMETT: I loved the title. And it's a Halloween episode, so cool. I wish Charmed did more of those, or at least did them every two seasons, so we got one in S1, one in S3, one in S5 and one in S7.

ES: Especially because they're witches, I really wish Charmed had had a Halloween episode every season. Of course the timing on the show isn't the same in real life so that may be one reason why they didn't.  And I love 'All Halliwell's Eve' so much (one of my Top Ten episodes), I can't see them doing one that's better.

EMMETT: Yeah, that does make sense when it comes to real life, so timing never matched up with real time. I love AHE, myself, and yeah, it might not be able to top it.

I wish we got a Christmas episode though, at least one during the Prue Era, and one during the Paige Era.

ES: That would really have been nice. Although there's some wonderful Christmas stories in our Library - again, I doubt Kern (and I'm sure he would've written something special like that) could've done better.

EMMETT: I'll have to check them out closer to December, a good time to read fanfics like those. 

ES: Definitely.  I always bump them to the top so it's easy for newbies to find them.

EMMETT: Mary Ann Warren, the first Warren to be born in America. Nice to know who the Melinda is. I hope we meet her at some point.

ES: I don't think I'm spoiling anything by telling you that, yes, you will - and she'll be part of more than just one episode...

EMMETT: Not at all, I'd love to be told that someone will reappear, just not when. I'm the type, who hates having false hope, thinking someone might appear or reappear when they never do. 

ES: *nods* Then be sure to ask me if you're wondering if someone will return.  I think I'll give you another spoiler.  That's one of the very few times when we actually cast the characters (letting the reader cast them however they want), but we have ALYSSA playing Mary Ann and SHANNEN playing her sister Jenna Warren!

EMMETT: That's sounds like so much fun that you cast them in roles. I also get a kick out of them playing sisters. Then playing ancestors who are dead is a better role for them to play, without taking over the new stars.

ES: And again that's what we thought.  And that way they only appear no more than a couple times each season. It's also why we decided not to include any of the other stars - it made their appearances special. Although when I did my own version - "Elemental Charmed Done Es' Way" - I had fun casting Jennifer Rhodes as Prudence, Finola Hughes as Patience, Alyssa Milano as Piper (I cast Holly as Penelope Warren - I didn't like her named Mary Ann, but got out-voted - and Shannen remained as Jenna Warren), Emmalee Thompson as Piper and Megan Corletto as Phoebe.  I figured 20 years later, those 8-year-olds from 'That  70s Episode' were old enough to play them.  I also did it as an episode guide rather than press releases.

EMMETT: You sure had fun with your own version, and your casting. Well done. And you are right, 20 years later, they would be the right age to play Piper and Phoebe.

ES: Oh, yes, it was a lot of fun.

EMMETT: I love how the curse affects each Warren, even taste and touch. Poor Prudence, losing her voice to call for help. I'm sure she got away somehow. But that would be the most terrifying.

EMMETT: That is fun for the reader to have fun wondering how they get out of these messes.

ES: Oh, yes, the rest of Team Charmed Cafe (and we who started doing the re-watches still call ourselves that) did SUCH a fantastic job coming up with titles!  And unlike Classic Charmed, who I think came up with titles and then wrote episodes to fit them - hence why Paige, Chris, Billie and Christy got those names - we wrote the episode first and THEN came up with the title!

EMMETT: That is what I'd think any good writer would do: write the story first, and title it once it's done. Good thing you did it the other way.

EMMETT: I love Prudence and Paige giving them the talk in how to use their powers for good use. I sure hope having the wisdom of their mother, aunt and grandmother will prevent them making bad choices like Piper and Phoebe did after Prue died.

ES: We hated how they totally forgot what they learned during 'Morality Bites' and were determined that our Elemental Witches wouldn't do that.

EMMETT: I'm glad to hear that. S6 was the all-time worst. 

ES: AMEN, although them murdering the Jenkinses in S8 comes in a close second.

EMMETT: Oh, you are right about that, too.

ES: They SO should've just freeze them and then bind their powers like they did Paige's past life. It's what I had them do in my "Charmed Forever".

EMMETT: I love that the latest threat is at Phoebe's campus, and it leads Patience on the case to take pictures.

ES: We had fun making their workplaces as settings as much as the Manor.

EMMETT: That's really great, since the show forgot all about the sisters workplaces for the most part.

ES: That they did.  I think that was due to having their budget cut so much by The WB.  I'm glad we didn't have to worry about such things.

EMMETT: Budget cuts really did affect the show, didn't it?  I'm glad in fanfics and virtual series, you don't need to worry about that. 

ES: You and me both! Part of why I love fanfics so much - and why I'm glad Kern screwed up as much as he did! If he hadn't, I'll bet the Cafe would no longer exist!

EMMETT: That is true. Or that Charmed Reddit would be the only active community around. But talking about what we dislike, tends to be more in depth discussions than what we like and sharing fanfics.

Season 1, Episode 7: ”The Soul Collector”

SALEM HARVEST FEST '18 — It's time for the annual Salem Harvest Festival, and that means another year of Prudence nagging her family to join in the fun. As they have every year since getting bored of it, Patience and Paige find any excuse to bail out. Since her granddaughters have never gone, Prudence tries to motivate them to join in the fun. Piper agrees to cater the fest and Phoebe agrees to do a story about it for her college paper.

Elsewhere, Paige deals with a new case at social services: a runaway teen, who hasn't come home to her parents. Later Patience is called to the scene of a crime and finds the body of the teen. But her ghost suddenly makes herself known, unaware she is really dead. Prudence has a premonition of an evil spirit known as 'The Soul Collector' going after the teen. She explains to Patience that only on "Harvest Day' can the spirit become corporeal and remain corporeal by collecting a dead soul.

Eventually, the entire family becomes involved, with Prudence and Paige helping the teen resolve issues with her parents, while Patience, Piper, and Phoebe work on finding a way to stop the 'Soul Collector' Piper wants to come up with a potion while Phoebe wants to write a spell. Patience decides it's best if they use both.

ES: We had fun making their workplaces as settings as much as the Manor.

EMMETT: That's really great, since the show forgot all about the sisters workplaces for the most part.

ES: That they did.  I think that was due to having their budget cut so much by The WB.  I'm glad we didn't have to worry about such things.

EMMETT: Budget cuts really did affect the show, didn't it?  I'm glad in fanfics and virtual series, you don't need to worry about that. 

ES: You and me both! Part of why I love fanfics so much - and why I'm glad Kern screwed up as much as he did! If he hadn't, I'll bet the Cafe would no longer exist!

EMMETT: That is true. Or that Charmed Reddit would be the only active community around. But talking about what we dislike tends to be more in depth discussions than what we like and sharing fanfics.

ES: We realized we didn't have an episode that starred Patience, so Summer wrote this one.  I think she did a great job with it.

ES:    We did our best to make sure that not one Warren outshone the others.  We hated how first Canon Prue, then Canon Phoebe, then Canon Piper did that.

Although I admit I also loved ones that had just one plotline like 'Morality Bites' and 'That 70s Episode'.  The ones I didn't really like were the episodic arcs - there really isn't any of those that I really loved.

Season 1, Episode 7: ”The Soul Collector”

SALEM HARVEST FEST '18 — It's time for the annual Salem Harvest Festival, and that means another year of Prudence nagging her family to join in the fun. As they have every year since getting bored of it, Patience and Paige find any excuse to bail out. Since her granddaughters have never gone, Prudence tries to motivate them to join in the fun. Piper agrees to cater the fest and Phoebe agrees to do a story about it for her college paper.

Elsewhere, Paige deals with a new case at social services: a runaway teen who hasn't come home to her parents. Later Patience is called to the scene of a crime and finds the body of the teen. But her ghost suddenly makes herself known, unaware she is really dead. Prudence has a premonition of an evil spirit known as 'The Soul Collector' going after the teen. She explains to Patience that only on "Harvest Day' can the spirit become corporeal and remain corporeal by collecting a dead soul.

Eventually, the entire family becomes involved, with Prudence and Paige helping the teen resolve issues with her parents, while Patience, Piper, and Phoebe work on finding a way to stop the 'Soul Collector.' Piper wants to come up with a potion while Phoebe wants to write a spell. Patience decides it's best if they use both.

EMMETT: I love this, as I'm sure Salem really does have a Harvest Festival. I always wanted to visit Salem, maybe one day. Have you ever been, Es?

ES: Yes, Salem really does have a Harvest Festival.  My fellow TCCers were very good with doing their research.

And, yes, I have been to Salem, back in the 70s when two friends and I did what we called "Our East Coast Blitz" - visiting three East Coast cities - Boston, Washington and New York - in 12 days, so three days in each city, not counting the flights between cities.!  While we were in Boston, we had to go to Salem.

EMMETT: I love that Prudence is so into the Harvest Festival (I'm sure its part of her life for so long, its a yearly tradition she cannot miss), and Piper agrees to cater the fest, and Phoebe write a story for it.

ES: I like that Patience and Paige are bored with it, giving them a chance to have a subplot that combines with the main one.

EMMETT: A fun pilot episode. I especially liked that Piper and Phoebe didn't unbind their powers until much later once the funeral for their dad happened, and after they had time to accept it. I liked that the older Warrens gave them that choice.

ES: We hated the fact that Charmedom was just forced on Prue and Piper - Prue never got a chance to say, "No", and Piper didn't until S4!

EMMETT: Yeah, I hated that, and the Charmed reboot gave them all a choice in the pilot episode.

ES: Give the rip-off credit for learning something from the classic.

I can't believe Paige was just living in the same city as Prue, Piper and Phoebe, it made no sense to me that Patty and Grams could just bump into Paige any time, it's so weird. ES: That would've been SO much better!

EMMETT: I liked this one, a nice way to get the younger Warrens adjusting to their new home and all. I also liked that it wasn't so perfect when they moved in. I hated how Paige moved in, and next few episodes, they get along great. You'd think something that Paige did or how she likes to do things in her house, didn't tick off Piper or Phoebe.

ES: Or ticked off Prudence.  I can see her getting upset if Piper or Phoebe did something differently than how she'd want to do things.  And, of course, Patience would play mediator.

EMMETT: That makes sense. It's a fun dynamic to see explored than just sisters. Why I think an idea like this is a better way to reboot Charmed, because it's somewhat different exploring the bonds between different generations than just sisters.

ES: That's what we thought when one of our members came up with the idea.

EMMETT: Thanks to that member who came up the idea, and you went with it, and here we are: Elemental Charmed.

ES: Yup!

EMMETT: It would be so cool if someone attempted to do this with Charmed with Prue, Piper, Phoebe, Patty and Penny making up the Elemental Witches or Power of Five.

ES: Actually another fan is working on something like that at a different site.  It's not working out quite as well as she thought it might - she tends to make it more like Elemental Charmed than Classic Charmed - but she came up with a Christmas episode that we loved so much we added it to Elemental Charmed.

EMMETT: That's really cool they are trying to do that. I so want to read that Christmas episode, and I can when I get to it. I hope she manages to still work on that, it sounds like a fun virtual series, I haven't seen done before.

EMMETT: I loved the title. And it's a Halloween episode, so cool. I wish Charmed did more of those, or at least did them every two seasons, so we got one in S1, one in S3, one in S5 and one in S7.

ES: Especially because they're witches, I really wish Charmed had had a Halloween episode every season. Of course the timing on the show isn't the same in real life so that may be one reason why they didn't.  And I love 'All Halliwell's Eve' so much (one of my Top Ten episodes), I can't see them doing one that's better.

EMMETT: Yeah, that does make sense when it comes to real life, so timing never matched up with real time. I love AHE, myself, and yeah, it might not be able to top it.

I wish we got a Christmas episode though, at least one during the Prue Era, and one during the Paige Era.

ES: That would really have been nice. Although there's some wonderful Christmas stories in our Library - again, I doubt Kern (and I'm sure he would've written something special like that) could've done better.

EMMETT: I'll have to check them out closer to December, a good time to read fanfics like those. 

ES: Definitely.  I always bump them to the top so it's easy for newbies to find them.

EMMETT: Not at all, I'd love to be told that someone will reappear, just not when. I'm the type, who hates having false hope, thinking someone might appear or reappear when they never do. 

ES: *nods* Then be sure to ask me if you're wondering if someone will return.  I think I'll give you another spoiler.  That's one of the very few times when we actually cast the characters (letting the reader cast them however they want), but we have ALYSSA playing Mary Ann and SHANNEN playing her sister Jenna Warren!

EMMETT: That's sounds like so much fun that you cast them in roles. I also get a kick out of them playing sisters. Then playing ancestors who are dead is a better role for them to play, without taking over the new stars.

ES: And again that's what we thought.  And that way they only appear no more than a couple times each season. It's also why we decided not to include any of the other stars - it made their appearances special. Although when I did my own version - "Elemental Charmed Done Es' Way" - I had fun casting Jennifer Rhodes as Prudence, Finola Hughes as Patience, Alyssa Milano as Piper (I cast Holly as Penelope Warren - I didn't like her named Mary Ann, but got out-voted - and Shannen remained as Jenna Warren), Emmalee Thompson as Piper and Megan Corletto as Phoebe.  I figured 20 years later, those 8-year-olds from 'That  70s Episode' were old enough to play them.  I also did it as an episode guide rather than press releases.

EMMETT: Ex Libris is so fantastic for that. Yeah, some of the one plotline only are really great episodes. Yeah, Charmed for the most part wasn't very good at the episodic arcs, and it showed for the most part. They didn't really plan or do them as well. It might be why all my favorite episodes are stanalone episodes.

Season 1, Episode 8: ”A Warren Family Feud”

TWO WARRENS TAKE A WALK IN THE OTHER WARREN’S SHOES — When Prudence and Paige try to meditate an argument Piper and Phoebe are having with their mother Patience in the Manor, Phoebe decides to stay overnight with a friend in the college dorms. Later, Patience tries to distract herself with work, Prudence goes to Piper’s restaurant while Paige goes to the dorms to encourage her niece to come home. Prudence explains to one of her granddaughters while Paige explains to one of her nieces about how hard it was for Patience to have Piper and Phoebe sent away across the country, and although Patience never talks much about it, it still hurts. The two youngest Warrens learn much more about the difficulties the three older Warrens had to face, things they’d never really thought about before.

Although Piper apologizes to her mother, Phoebe turns her back on her aunt, still wanting to stay in the dorm. Feeling like she’s failed her family, Paige casts a spell so both can feel what the other does, but it backfires – it switches Phoebe’s and Patience's bodies.

When Patience and Phoebe realize what Paige did, they decide to keep it on the down-low and fix the mess themselves, not wanting to get grilled by Prudence. The problem is: how do they fix it if they don’t know which spell Paige used?

While Patience and Phoebe take a walk in each other's shoes, letting them understand each other better, Prudence has a premonition. She sees Paige at SSS, caught up with trying to help two innocent children, who are both actually warlocks, using the disguise of children in order to steal the powers of young witches who have yet to come into their powers. Prudence rushes to warn her daughter, but the warlocks lure them both into a trap.

Having seen so much through her mother’s eyes, Phoebe eventually says sorry to Patience, and she, Patience and Piper start planning a weekly mother-daughters dinner, just for the three of them, every Thursday night at 6 pm in the private dining room at Piper’s restaurant, but her manager will do all of the cooking and serving so Piper won’t have to.

But before they can celebrate this wonderful newfound mother-daughter bonding, the three of them have to rescue the other two Warrens. Will they be able to adapt the spell to put Phoebe and Patience back in their own bodies, so they can properly use their Elemental powers or will these two Elemental Witches be unable to use their own power forever?

EMMETT: A fun pilot episode. I especially liked that Piper and Phoebe didn't unbind their powers until much later once the funeral for their dad happened, and after they had time to accept it. I liked that the older Warrens gave them that choice.

ES: We hated the fact that Charmedom was just forced on Prue and Piper - Prue never got a chance to say, "No", and Piper didn't until S4!

EMMETT: Yeah, I hated that, and the Charmed reboot gave them all a choice in the pilot episode.

ES: Give the rip-off credit for learning something from the classic.

I can't believe Paige was just living in the same city as Prue, Piper and Phoebe, it made no sense to me that Patty and Grams could just bump into Paige any time, it's so weird. ES: That would've been SO much better!

EMMETT: I liked this one, a nice way to get the younger Warrens adjusting to their new home and all. I also liked that it wasn't so perfect when they moved in. I hated how Paige moved in, and next few episodes, they get along great. You'd think something that Paige did or how she likes to do things in her house, didn't tick off Piper or Phoebe.

ES: Or ticked off Prudence.  I can see her getting upset if Piper or Phoebe did something differently than how she'd want to do things.  And, of course, Patience would play mediator.

EMMETT: That makes sense. It's a fun dynamic to see explored than just sisters. Why I think an idea like this is a better way to reboot Charmed, because it's somewhat different exploring the bonds between different generations than just sisters.

ES: That's what we thought when one of our members came up with the idea.

EMMETT: Thanks to that member who came up the idea, and you went with it, and here we are: Elemental Charmed.

ES: Yup!

EMMETT: It would be so cool if someone attempted to do this with Charmed with Prue, Piper, Phoebe, Patty and Penny making up the Elemental Witches or Power of Five.

ES: Actually another fan is working on something like that at a different site.  It's not working out quite as well as she thought it might - she tends to make it more like Elemental Charmed than Classic Charmed - but she came up with a Christmas episode that we loved so much we added it to Elemental Charmed.

EMMETT: That's really cool she is trying to do that. I so want to read that Christmas episode, and I can when I get to it. I hope she manages to still work on that, it sounds like a fun virtual series that I haven't seen done before.

ES: No, neither have I.  Unfortunately, she hasn't been around for a while and whenever that happens I worry about her getting COVID...

Season 1, Episode 3: ”See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil, Taste No Evil, Touch No Evil”

EMMETT: I loved the title. And it's a Halloween episode, so cool. I wish Charmed did more of those, or at least did them every two seasons, so we got one in S1, one in S3, one in S5 and one in S7.

ES: Especially because they're witches, I really wish Charmed had had a Halloween episode every season. Of course the timing on the show isn't the same in real life so that may be one reason why they didn't.  And I love 'All Halliwell's Eve' so much (one of my Top Ten episodes), I can't see them doing one that's better.

EMMETT: Yeah, that does make sense when it comes to real life, so timing never matched up with real time. I love AHE, myself, and yeah, it might not be able to top it.

I wish we got a Christmas episode though, at least one during the Prue Era, and one during the Paige Era.

ES: That would really have been nice. Although there's some wonderful Christmas stories in our Library - again, I doubt Kern (and I'm sure he would've written something special like that) could've done better.

EMMETT: I'll have to check them out closer to December, a good time to read fanfics like those. 

ES: Definitely.  I always bump them to the top so it's easy for newbies to find them.

EMMETT: That's so good of you to do, saves newbies like me struggling to find it.

ES: I don't think I'm spoiling anything by telling you that, yes, you will - and she'll be part of more than just one episode...

EMMETT: Not at all, I'd love to be told that someone will reappear, just not when. I'm the type, who hates having false hope, thinking someone might appear or reappear when they never do. 

ES: *nods* Then be sure to ask me if you're wondering if someone will return.  I think I'll give you another spoiler.  That's one of the very few times when we actually cast the characters (letting the reader cast them however they want), but we have ALYSSA playing Mary Ann and SHANNEN playing her sister Jenna Warren!

EMMETT: That's sounds like so much fun that you cast them in roles. I also get a kick out of them playing sisters. Then playing ancestors who are dead is a better role for them to play, without taking over the new stars.

ES: And again that's what we thought.  And that way they only appear no more than a couple times each season. It's also why we decided not to include any of the other stars - it made their appearances special. Although when I did my own version - "Elemental Charmed Done Es' Way" - I had fun casting Jennifer Rhodes as Prudence, Finola Hughes as Patience, Alyssa Milano as Piper (I cast Holly as Penelope Warren - I didn't like her named Mary Ann, but got out-voted - and Shannen remained as Jenna Warren), Emmalee Thompson as Piper and Megan Corletto as Phoebe.  I figured 20 years later, those 8-year-olds from 'That  70s Episode' were old enough to play them.  I also did it as an episode guide rather than press releases.

EMMETT: You sure had fun with your own version, and your casting. Well done. And you are right, 20 years later, they would be the right age to play Piper and Phoebe.

ES: Oh, yes, the rest of Team Charmed Cafe (and we who started doing the re-watches still call ourselves that) did SUCH a fantastic job coming up with titles!  And unlike Classic Charmed, who I think came up with titles and then wrote episodes to fit them - hence why Paige, Chris, Billie and Christy got those names - we wrote the episode first and THEN came up with the title!

EMMETT: That is what I'd think any good writer would do: write the story first, and title it once it's done. Good thing you did it the other way.

ES: We had fun making their workplaces as settings as much as the Manor.

ES: That they did.  I think that was due to having their budget cut so much by The WB.  I'm glad we didn't have to worry about such things.

EMMETT: Budget cuts really did affect the show, didn't it?  I'm glad in fanfics and virtual series, you don't need to worry about that. 

ES: You and me both! Part of why I love fanfics so much - and why I'm glad Kern screwed up as much as he did! If he hadn't, I'll bet the Cafe would no longer exist!

EMMETT: That is true. Or that Charmed Reddit would be the only active community around. But talking about what we dislike tends to be more in depth discussions than what we like and sharing fanfics.

ES:    We did our best to make sure that not one Warren outshone the others.  We hated how first Canon Prue, then Canon Phoebe, then Canon Piper did that.

ES: That's what I loved best about this episode, too.

ES: My favorite Charmed episodes had a number of plotlines that all blended together, like 'Ex Libris'. Although I admit I also loved ones that had just one plotline like 'Morality Bites' and 'That 70s Episode'.  The ones I didn't really like were the episodic arcs - there really isn't any of those that I really loved. 

EMMETT: Ex Libris is so fantastic for that. Yeah, some of the ones with one plotline only are really great episodes. Yeah, Charmed for the most part wasn't very good at the episodic arcs, and it showed for the most part. They didn't really plan or do them as well. It might be why all of my favorite episodes are standalone episodes.

ES:  Yeah, thinking about it, I think all of mine are standalones, too.

EMMETT: That's so fun. Now, I'm so happy Salem is as much a character on the show as the Warrens.

ES:    I SO wish San Francisco had been as much of a character on Classic Charmed.

ES: And, yes, I have been to Salem, back in the 70s when two friends and I did what we called "Our East Coast Blitz" - visiting three East Coast cities - Boston, Washington and New York - in 12 days, so three days in each city, not counting the flights between cities. While we were in Boston, we had to go to Salem.

EMMETT: That's so great that you have been to Salem. Of course, I'm sure it has changed since then. Also so fun you got to go to those other cities. What did you think of Salem, and what was the Witch Museum like? Was Boston fun? I know they originally wanted the show to be set here.

ES: Really?  That I didn't know.  It would've been cool if it had been set in either Boston or Salem.  Salem was a typical little town except for the With Museum and the Stained-Glass one.  It's been SO long, I really don't remember what they were like, just that I enjoyed it.  But I think Boston was our favorite of the three cities - we loved following the Freedom Road and riding the Swan Boats!  Those I remember!  AND THE FOOD!!  I remember how great the lobsters were!

ES:  It sure is. One of the few episodes I wrote, although I edited all of them.  I'm better at editing than at original writing.

EMMETT: I liked this one, a nice way to get the younger Warrens adjusting to their new home and all. I also liked that it wasn't so perfect when they moved in. I hated how Paige moved in, and next few episodes, they get along great. You'd think something that Paige did or how she likes to do things in her house, didn't tick off Piper or Phoebe.

ES: Or ticked off Prudence.  I can see her getting upset if Piper or Phoebe did something differently than how she'd want to do things.  And, of course, Patience would play mediator.

EMMETT: That makes sense. It's a fun dynamic to see explored than just sisters. Why I think an idea like this is a better way to reboot Charmed, because it's somewhat different exploring the bonds between different generations than just sisters.

ES: That's what we thought when one of our members came up with the idea.

EMMETT: Thanks to that member who came up the idea, and you went with it, and here we are: Elemental Charmed.

ES: Yup!

EMMETT: It would be so cool if someone attempted to do this with Charmed with Prue, Piper, Phoebe, Patty and Penny making up the Elemental Witches or Power of Five.

ES: Actually another fan is working on something like that at a different site.  It's not working out quite as well as she thought it might - she tends to make it more like Elemental Charmed than Classic Charmed - but she came up with a Christmas episode that we loved so much we added it to Elemental Charmed.

EMMETT: That's really cool she is trying to do that. I so want to read that Christmas episode, and I can when I get to it. I hope she manages to still work on that, it sounds like a fun virtual series that I haven't seen done before.

ES: No, neither have I.  Unfortunately, she hasn't been around for a while and whenever that happens I worry about her getting COVID...

EMMETT: Oh no, I'm hoping she's okay.

EMMETT: I did appreciate that Piper and Phoebe here came to see why they all lived under the same roof. Good thing Phoebe had her credits transfer.

Season 1, Episode 3: ”See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil, Taste No Evil, Touch No Evil”

EMMETT: I loved the title. And it's a Halloween episode, so cool. I wish Charmed did more of those, or at least did them every two seasons, so we got one in S1, one in S3, one in S5 and one in S7.

ES: Especially because they're witches, I really wish Charmed had had a Halloween episode every season. Of course the timing on the show isn't the same in real life so that may be one reason why they didn't.  And I love 'All Halliwell's Eve' so much (one of my Top Ten episodes), I can't see them doing one that's better.

EMMETT: Yeah, that does make sense when it comes to real life, so timing never matched up with real time. I love AHE, myself, and yeah, it might not be able to top it.

I wish we got a Christmas episode though, at least one during the Prue Era, and one during the Paige Era.

ES: That would really have been nice. Although there's some wonderful Christmas stories in our Library - again, I doubt Kern (and I'm sure he would've written something special like that) could've done better.

EMMETT: I'll have to check them out closer to December, a good time to read fanfics like those. 

ES: Definitely.  I always bump them to the top so it's easy for newbies to find them.

EMMETT: That's so good of you to do, saves newbies like me struggling to find it.

EMMETT: I remember they they were meant to have one called 'Home for the Halliwell' as I remember seeing that title listed in spoilers at fan sites, but the script never got filmed. Off to look for this to refresh my own memory.

ES: Yes, I saw that thread there.  Thanks for sharing with everyone! Darn 9/11 anyway! Although speaking of, there's a fantastic fic in our library based on 9/11!

EMMETT: I also loved that the Warrens have a birthday. With Victor's death and Piper and Phoebe's move and all, I can understand why they forgot. I like that they have a joint Halloween party. That should make up for it.

ES: Oh, yes, it's definitely understandable but typical Patience that she'd feel bad about missing them..

EMMETT: She sure would.

EMMETT: Mary Ann Warren, the first Warren to be born in America. Nice to know who the Melinda is. I hope we meet her at some point.

ES: I don't think I'm spoiling anything by telling you that, yes, you will - and she'll be part of more than just one episode...

EMMETT: Not at all, I'd love to be told that someone will reappear, just not when. I'm the type, who hates having false hope, thinking someone might appear or reappear when they never do. 

ES: *nods* Then be sure to ask me if you're wondering if someone will return.  I think I'll give you another spoiler.  That's one of the very few times when we actually cast the characters (letting the reader cast them however they want), but we have ALYSSA playing Mary Ann and SHANNEN playing her sister Jenna Warren!

EMMETT: That's sounds like so much fun that you cast them in roles. I also get a kick out of them playing sisters. Then playing ancestors who are dead is a better role for them to play, without taking over the new stars.

ES: And again that's what we thought.  And that way they only appear no more than a couple times each season. It's also why we decided not to include any of the other stars - it made their appearances special. Although when I did my own version - "Elemental Charmed Done Es' Way" - I had fun casting Jennifer Rhodes as Prudence, Finola Hughes as Patience, Alyssa Milano as Piper (I cast Holly as Penelope Warren - I didn't like her named Mary Ann, but got out-voted - and Shannen remained as Jenna Warren), Emmalee Thompson as Piper and Megan Corletto as Phoebe.  I figured 20 years later, those 8-year-olds from 'That  70s Episode' were old enough to play them.  I also did it as an episode guide rather than press releases.

EMMETT: You sure had fun with your own version, and your casting. Well done. And you are right, 20 years later, they would be the right age to play Piper and Phoebe.

ES: Oh, yes, it was a lot of fun.

EMMETT: I love how the curse affects each Warren, even taste and touch. Poor Prudence, losing her voice to call for help. I'm sure she got away somehow. But that would be the most terrifying.

ES: Definitely!  That's the fun of doing press releases as compared to true fanfics - we can put them into scary situations without having to figure out how to get them out of it!YAY

EMMETT: That is fun for the reader to have fun wondering how they get out of these messes.

ES: Glad you think so.  Some of our readers didn't like that and stopped reading the press releases due to that.  Oh, well.

ES: Oh, yes!  I love you quoting the most recent press release.  It's a good refresher for me.

EMMETT: Firstly. I have just as much fun reading the titles, they are so cool.

ES: Oh, yes, the rest of Team Charmed Cafe (and we who started doing the re-watches still call ourselves that) did SUCH a fantastic job coming up with titles!  And unlike Classic Charmed, who I think came up with titles and then wrote episodes to fit them - hence why Paige, Chris, Billie and Christy got those names - we wrote the episode first and THEN came up with the title!

EMMETT: That is what I'd think any good writer would do: write the story first, and title it once it's done. Good thing you did it the other way.

EMMETT: Their first warlock. That's right, the younger Warrens didn't vanquish any until the previous one as Elemental Witches.

EMMETT: I love Prudence and Paige giving them the talk in how to use their powers for good use. I sure hope having the wisdom of their mother, aunt and grandmother will prevent them making bad choices like Piper and Phoebe did after Prue died.

ES: We hated how they totally forgot what they learned during 'Morality Bites' and were determined that our Elemental Witches wouldn't do that.

EMMETT: I'm glad to hear that. S6 was the all-time worst. 

ES: AMEN, although them murdering the Jenkinses in S8 comes in a close second.

EMMETT: Oh, you are right about that, too.

ES: They SO should've just freeze them and then bind their powers like they did Paige's past life. It's what I had them do in my "Charmed Forever".

EMMETT: That would have been better. 

ES: Glad you think so!

EMMETT: I love that the latest threat is at Phoebe's campus, and it leads Patience on the case to take pictures.

ES: We had fun making their workplaces as settings as much as the Manor.

EMMETT: That's really great, since the show forgot all about the sisters workplaces for the most part.

ES: That they did.  I think that was due to having their budget cut so much by The WB.  I'm glad we didn't have to worry about such things.

EMMETT: Budget cuts really did affect the show, didn't it?  I'm glad in fanfics and virtual series, you don't need to worry about that. 

ES: You and me both! Part of why I love fanfics so much - and why I'm glad Kern screwed up as much as he did! If he hadn't, I'll bet the Cafe would no longer exist!

EMMETT: That is true. Or that Charmed Reddit would be the only active community around. But talking about what we dislike tends to be more in depth discussions than what we like and sharing fanfics. 

ES: *nods* Exactly so, even if I LOVE fanfics!

EMMETT: I do too, especially so many wonderful non-Charmed fics. People are just so talented.

ES: That they are, even if I haven't read a lot of non-Charmed fanfics.

Season 1, Episode 5: ”Kill Me Three Times”

EMMETT: I like the title.

EMMETT: This was a fun story, with the sculptures of Patience coming to life with her memories, and trapping the real Patience. 

ES: We realized we didn't have an episode that starred Patience, so Summer wrote this one.  I think she did a great job with it.

EMMETT: I sure agree, and so glad you made sure to do that here. So each Warren has their own episode as the star.

ES:    We did our best to make sure that not one Warren outshone the others.  We hated how first Canon Prue, then Canon Phoebe, then Canon Piper did that.

EMMETT: Very glad you tried your best to do that.

ES: You'll have to let us know if you think we succeeded.

EMMETT: I shall. So far you have.

ES: YAY!

EMMETT: I'm sure they'd freak out she died, until learning it was a fake Patience. Kind of like Clone Prue's..

Season 1, Episode 6: ”Revenge is a Dish Best Served Hexed”

EMMETT: I love this title. So cool.

ES: Summer did SO well with her titles!

EMMETT: I really love that Piper and Paige's stories come together, and that the mother wanting to gain custody of her son, is against the warlock.

ES: That's what I loved best about this episode, too.

EMMETT: Me too. I love stories like that.

ES: My favorite Charmed episodes had a number of plotlines that all blended together, like 'Ex Libris'. Although I admit I also loved ones that had just one plotline like 'Morality Bites' and 'That 70s Episode'.  The ones I didn't really like were the episodic arcs - there really isn't any of those that I really loved. 

EMMETT: Ex Libris is so fantastic for that. Yeah, some of the ones with one plotline only are really great episodes. Yeah, Charmed for the most part wasn't very good at the episodic arcs, and it showed for the most part. They didn't really plan or do them as well. It might be why all of my favorite episodes are standalone episodes.

ES:  Yeah, thinking about it, I think all of mine are standalones, too.

EMMETT: I love this, as I'm sure Salem really does have a Harvest Festival. I always wanted to visit Salem, maybe one day. Have you ever been, Es?

ES: Yes, Salem really does have a Harvest Festival.  My fellow TCCers were very good with doing their research.

EMMETT: That's so fun. Now, I'm so happy Salem is as much a character on the show as the Warrens.

ES:    I SO wish San Francisco had been as much of a character on Classic Charmed.

EMMETT: Me too, It really wished it was. I wonder why they picked it as the setting. Makes me think it was done just because they had so much footage of the city they could use, which is funny, since it filmed in LA.

ES: And, yes, I have been to Salem, back in the 70s when two friends and I did what we called "Our East Coast Blitz" - visiting three East Coast cities - Boston, Washington and New York - in 12 days, so three days in each city, not counting the flights between cities. While we were in Boston, we had to go to Salem.

EMMETT: That's so great that you have been to Salem. Of course, I'm sure it has changed since then. Also so fun you got to go to those other cities. What did you think of Salem, and what was the Witch Museum like? Was Boston fun? I know they originally wanted the show to be set here.

ES: Really?  That I didn't know.  It would've been cool if it had been set in either Boston or Salem. 

EMMETT: Yes, I read that somewhere a long time ago, that was the original location. It would have been cool if it was set in either those location. Also the series was retitled Charmed after Spelling's suggestion of House of Sisters was dropped. In a way I'm glad, as that title would have no meaning when the show stopped being sisterly or about them.

ES: Salem was a typical little town except for the With Museum and the Stained-Glass one.  It's been SO long, I really don't remember what they were like, just that I enjoyed it.  But I think Boston was our favorite of the three cities - we loved following the Freedom Road and riding the Swan Boats!  Those I remember!  AND THE FOOD!!  I remember how great the lobsters were!

EMMETT: Thanks so much for that insight. I'm so happy to hear Boston was your favorite of the three. Now I have something to add to my list, of things to do, If I ever go there one day.

EMMETT: I love that Prudence is so into the Harvest Festival (I'm sure its part of her life for so long, its a yearly tradition she cannot miss), and Piper agrees to cater the fest, and Phoebe write a story for it.

ES: I like that Patience and Paige are bored with it, giving them a chance to have a subplot that combines with the main one.

EMMETT: Me, too. It really worked so well for this story.

ES: What that means is Sasha wrote a rough draft and then Summer edited it.

EMMETT: I loved this one so much, especially because they are not all perfectly happy after the move in. I do love how Prudence and Paige try to help them out, but it works for a bit, but still not fully resolved.

Season 1, Episode 9: ”A Smart Spell and A Banshee...Are We Watching Charmed?”



IN A TRIBUTE TO "CHARMED", PHOEBE TRIES A SMART SPELL WHILE A BANSHEE HAUNTS — Phoebe is struggling with one of her classes and has a project due the next day. If she doesn't finish it in time, she will probably fail the class and the semester and have to repeat the whole thing all over again. So she goes up to the attic looking for some magical help. She finds a smart spell in the family book of shadows, and happily casts it, totally forgetting what Prudence taught her - a spell cast to just help herself and not another is bound to backfire.


Meanwhile, it's also the Annual Foodie Event at the Salem Convention Centre, where everyone gets to sample new foods from all of the local restaurants. Prudence is in charge of the event this year and has talked Piper into introducing her new restaurant to Salem by hosting one of the booths. Prudence has also invited "Feed Salem's Hungry", one of the not-for-profit organizations where she volunteers, to sponsor the event, so the other members are helping out.

But during the big event, Prudence has a premonition showing a Banshee stalking a woman who has lost her husband. When she sees the woman's son trying to save his mother, she recognizes him as Matthew Tate, who is hosting one of the booths and who has brought his mother with him in hopes that helping him will help bring her out of her massive grief and make her want to live again. This is followed by a second premonition showing Prudence that the Banshee will be at the Foodie Event in disguise, not only stalking Matthew's mother, but also stalking Piper who has been so busy becoming an Elemental Witch, finding a manager to run her restaurant in San Francisco while starting up a new one in Salem that she's never actually grieved father, Victor's death.



After her mother tells Paige about her premonitions, Paige transports home in order to check the family book of shadows for information about Banshees. When she tells Phoebe, who is supposedly studying for her test, and Phoebe just shrugs. All they have to do is go back in the Banshee's history and figure out which unresolved grief issues turned the Banshee into one to begin with. She also tells her how to do this - a certain potion that Phoebe quickly comes up with. Throw it at the Banshee and she'll confess everything.



Knowing there's no way Phoebe could figure all of this on her own, Paige knows something is up. She gets Phoebe to admit to casting the spell, but that it will wear off in an hour and her project is due tomorrow. She then turns back to her project.



Paige reminds her as an Elemental Witch, innocents must come first. Phoebe insists not when it means flunking a class. Paige grabs her and transports them back to the Centre, telling her that if she helps them help the Banshee which won’t only help the Banshee, but also Matthew and his mother *and* Piper, she'll help her with her project.



But the potion requires so many ingredients that Phoebe's smart spell might run out of time. Will the Warrens be able to save the Banshee and the Tates and Piper? Will they be able to help Piper take the time to properly mourn her father and will Phoebe learn a lesson about using spells to help herself when despite Paige helping her, Phoebe fails a different class and has to repeat the semester anyway?

EMMETT: I love this event, with the annual foodie event. As always their jobs are such fun to follow. I especially like that Prudence is in charge of the event with a not-for-profit organizations where she volunteers, that's actually what one of my aunts who is in her 70s does now after retirement, she volunteers at a animal shelter and loves working with all the dogs, cats and rabbits.

EMMETT: I loved the plot with the Banshee, especially it having innocents and then it comes back to their plan over still missing Victor.

EMMETT: Glad that Phoebe confessed and that Paige told her it will wear off in an hour and her project is due tomorrow, where she'll get the grade she deserves.

(Note from ES: Oh, yes! Including this works fantastically!  And as you said, it keeps this skyscraper from growing too large.

EMMETT: A fun pilot episode. I especially liked that Piper and Phoebe didn't unbind their powers until much later once the funeral for their dad happened, and after they had time to accept it. I liked that the older Warrens gave them that choice.

ES: We hated the fact that Charmedom was just forced on Prue and Piper - Prue never got a chance to say, "No", and Piper didn't until S4!

EMMETT: Yeah, I hated that, and the Charmed reboot gave them all a choice in the pilot episode.

ES: Give the rip-off credit for learning something from the classic.

EMMETT:

EMMETT: Them living on the other side of the country to protect them from a warlock was great. I can't believe Paige was just living in the same city as Prue, Piper and Phoebe, it made no sense to me that Patty and Grams could just bump into Paige any time, it's so weird. They should have adopted her and had her living somewhere else, but so happens to move to San Francisco later. 

ES: That would've been SO much better!

I'm hoping you liked our premiere episode that you decide to keep reading and reviewing!

Season 1, Episode 3: ”See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil, Taste No Evil, Touch No Evil”

EMMETT: I loved the title. And it's a Halloween episode, so cool. I wish Charmed did more of those, or at least did them every two seasons, so we got one in S1, one in S3, one in S5 and one in S7.

ES: Especially because they're witches, I really wish Charmed had had a Halloween episode every season. Of course the timing on the show isn't the same in real life so that may be one reason why they didn't.  And I love 'All Halliwell's Eve' so much (one of my Top Ten episodes), I can't see them doing one that's better.

EMMETT: Yeah, that does make sense when it comes to real life, so timing never matched up with real time. I love AHE, myself, and yeah, it might not be able to top it.

I wish we got a Christmas episode though, at least one during the Prue Era, and one during the Paige Era.

ES: That would really have been nice. Although there's some wonderful Christmas stories in our Library - again, I doubt Kern (and I'm sure he would've written something special like that) could've done better.

EMMETT: I'll have to check them out closer to December, a good time to read fanfics like those. 

ES: Definitely.  I always bump them to the top so it's easy for newbies to find them.

EMMETT: That's so good of you to do, saves newbies like me struggling to find it.

EMMETT: Mary Ann Warren, the first Warren to be born in America. Nice to know who the Melinda is. I hope we meet her at some point.

ES: I don't think I'm spoiling anything by telling you that, yes, you will - and she'll be part of more than just one episode...

EMMETT: Not at all, I'd love to be told that someone will reappear, just not when. I'm the type, who hates having false hope, thinking someone might appear or reappear when they never do. 

ES: *nods* Then be sure to ask me if you're wondering if someone will return.  I think I'll give you another spoiler.  That's one of the very few times when we actually cast the characters (letting the reader cast them however they want), but we have ALYSSA playing Mary Ann and SHANNEN playing her sister Jenna Warren!

EMMETT: That's sounds like so much fun that you cast them in roles. I also get a kick out of them playing sisters. Then playing ancestors who are dead is a better role for them to play, without taking over the new stars.

ES: And again that's what we thought.  And that way they only appear no more than a couple times each season. It's also why we decided not to include any of the other stars - it made their appearances special. Although when I did my own version - "Elemental Charmed Done Es' Way" - I had fun casting Jennifer Rhodes as Prudence, Finola Hughes as Patience, Alyssa Milano as Piper (I cast Holly as Penelope Warren - I didn't like her named Mary Ann, but got out-voted - and Shannen remained as Jenna Warren), Emmalee Thompson as Piper and Megan Corletto as Phoebe.  I figured 20 years later, those 8-year-olds from 'That  70s Episode' were old enough to play them.  I also did it as an episode guide rather than press releases.

EMMETT: You sure had fun with your own version, and your casting. Well done. And you are right, 20 years later, they would be the right age to play Piper and Phoebe.

ES: Oh, yes, it was a lot of fun.

EMMETT: I love how the curse affects each Warren, even taste and touch. Poor Prudence, losing her voice to call for help. I'm sure she got away somehow. But that would be the most terrifying.

EMMETT: That is fun for the reader to have fun wondering how they get out of these messes.

ES: Oh, yes, the rest of Team Charmed Cafe (and we who started doing the re-watches still call ourselves that) did SUCH a fantastic job coming up with titles!  And unlike Classic Charmed, who I think came up with titles and then wrote episodes to fit them - hence why Paige, Chris, Billie and Christy got those names - we wrote the episode first and THEN came up with the title!

EMMETT: That is what I'd think any good writer would do: write the story first, and title it once it's done. Good thing you did it the other way.

EMMETT: I love Prudence and Paige giving them the talk in how to use their powers for good use. I sure hope having the wisdom of their mother, aunt and grandmother will prevent them making bad choices like Piper and Phoebe did after Prue died.

ES: We hated how they totally forgot what they learned during 'Morality Bites' and were determined that our Elemental Witches wouldn't do that.

EMMETT: I'm glad to hear that. S6 was the all-time worst. 

ES: AMEN, although them murdering the Jenkinses in S8 comes in a close second.

EMMETT: Oh, you are right about that, too.

ES: They SO should've just freeze them and then bind their powers like they did Paige's past life. It's what I had them do in my "Charmed Forever".

EMMETT: That would have been better.

EMMETT: I love that the latest threat is at Phoebe's campus, and it leads Patience on the case to take pictures.

ES: We had fun making their workplaces as settings as much as the Manor.

EMMETT: That's really great, since the show forgot all about the sisters workplaces for the most part.

ES: That they did.  I think that was due to having their budget cut so much by The WB.  I'm glad we didn't have to worry about such things.

EMMETT: Budget cuts really did affect the show, didn't it?  I'm glad in fanfics and virtual series, you don't need to worry about that. 

ES: You and me both! Part of why I love fanfics so much - and why I'm glad Kern screwed up as much as he did! If he hadn't, I'll bet the Cafe would no longer exist!

EMMETT: That is true. Or that Charmed Reddit would be the only active community around. But talking about what we dislike tends to be more in depth discussions than what we like and sharing fanfics. 

ES: *nods* Exactly so, even if I LOVE fanfics!

EMMETT: I do too, especially so many wonderful non-Charmed fics. People are just so talented.

ES: That they are, even if I haven't read a lot of non-Charmed fanfics.

EMMETT: This was a fun story, with the sculptures of Patience coming to life with her memories, and trapping the real Patience. 

ES: We realized we didn't have an episode that starred Patience, so Summer wrote this one.  I think she did a great job with it.

EMMETT: I sure agree, and so glad you made sure to do that here. So each Warren has their own episode as the star.

ES:    We did our best to make sure that not one Warren outshone the others.  We hated how first Canon Prue, then Canon Phoebe, then Canon Piper did that.

EMMETT: Very glad you tried your best to do that.

ES: You'll have to let us know if you think we succeeded.

EMMETT: I love this title. So cool.

ES: Summer did SO well with her titles!

EMMETT: I really love that Piper and Paige's stories come together, and that the mother wanting to gain custody of her son, is against the warlock.

ES: That's what I loved best about this episode, too.

EMMETT: Me too. I love stories like that.

ES: My favorite Charmed episodes had a number of plotlines that all blended together, like 'Ex Libris'. Although I admit I also loved ones that had just one plotline like 'Morality Bites' and 'That 70s Episode'.  The ones I didn't really like were the episodic arcs - there really isn't any of those that I really loved. 

EMMETT: Ex Libris is so fantastic for that. Yeah, some of the ones with one plotline only are really great episodes. Yeah, Charmed for the most part wasn't very good at the episodic arcs, and it showed for the most part. They didn't really plan or do them as well. It might be why all of my favorite episodes are standalone episodes.

ES:  Yeah, thinking about it, I think all of mine are standalones, too.

EMMETT: I love this, as I'm sure Salem really does have a Harvest Festival. I always wanted to visit Salem, maybe one day. Have you ever been, Es?

ES: Yes, Salem really does have a Harvest Festival.  My fellow TCCers were very good with doing their research.

EMMETT: That's so fun. Now, I'm so happy Salem is as much a character on the show as the Warrens.

ES:    I SO wish San Francisco had been as much of a character on Classic Charmed.

EMMETT: Me, too. I really wish it was. I wonder why they picked it as the setting. Makes me think it was done just because they had so much footage of the city they could use, which is funny, since it's filmed in LA.

ES: They really would've done better having it be in LA.

ES: And, yes, I have been to Salem, back in the 70s when two friends and I did what we called "Our East Coast Blitz" - visiting three East Coast cities - Boston, Washington and New York - in 12 days, so three days in each city,'s not counting the flights between cities. While we were in Boston, we had to go to Salem.

EMMETT: That's so great that you have been to Salem. Of course, I'm sure it has changed since then. Also so fun you got to go to those other cities. What did you think of Salem, and what was the Witch Museum like? Was Boston fun? I know they originally wanted the show to be set here.

ES: Really?  That I didn't know.  It would've been cool if it had been set in either Boston or Salem. 

EMMETT: Yes, I read that somewhere a long time ago, that was the original location. It would have been cool if it was set in either those location. Also the series was retitled Charmed after Spelling's suggestion of House of Sisters was dropped. In a way I'm glad, as that title would have no meaning when the show stopped being sisterly or about them.

ES: Well, I don't think it's much about Charmed after Prue dies - then it should be called Whitelighter.

ES: Salem was a typical little town except for the Witch Museum and the Stained-Glass one.  It's been SO long, I really don't remember what they were like, just that I enjoyed it.  But I think Boston was our favorite of the three cities - we loved following the Freedom Road and riding the Swan Boats!  Those I remember!  AND THE FOOD!!  I remember how great the lobsters were!

EMMETT: Thanks so much for that insight. I'm so happy to hear Boston was your favorite of the three. Now I have something to add to my list of things to do, if I ever go there one day.

ES: I hope you get that chance.  I also hope I get a chance to go back when Salem would mean more to me.

EMMETT: I love that Prudence is so into the Harvest Festival (I'm sure its part of her life for so long, its a yearly tradition she cannot miss), and Piper agrees to cater the fest, and Phoebe write a story for it.

ES: I like that Patience and Paige are bored with it, giving them a chance to have a subplot that combines with the main one.

EMMETT: Me, too. It really worked so well for this story.

Season 1, Episode 9: ”A Smart Spell and A Banshee...Are We Watching Charmed?”

IN A TRIBUTE TO "CHARMED", PHOEBE TRIES A SMART SPELL WHILE A BANSHEE HAUNTS — Phoebe is struggling with one of her classes and has a project due the next day. If she doesn't finish it in time, she will probably fail the class and the semester and have to repeat the whole thing all over again. So she goes up to the attic looking for some magical help. She finds a smart spell in the family book of shadows, and happily casts it, totally forgetting what Prudence taught her - a spell cast to just help herself and not another is bound to backfire.

Meanwhile, it's also the Annual Foodie Event at the Salem Convention Centre, where everyone gets to sample new foods from all of the local restaurants. Prudence is in charge of the event this year and has talked Piper into introducing her new restaurant to Salem by hosting one of the booths. Prudence has also invited "Feed Salem's Hungry", one of the not-for-profit organizations where she volunteers, to sponsor the event, so the other members are helping out.

But during the big event, Prudence has a premonition showing a Banshee stalking a woman who has lost her husband. When she sees the woman's son trying to save his mother, she recognizes him as Matthew Tate, who is hosting one of the booths and who has brought his mother with him in hopes that helping him will help bring her out of her massive grief and make her want to live again. This is followed by a second premonition showing Prudence that the Banshee will be at the Foodie Event in disguise, not only stalking Matthew's mother, but also stalking Piper who has been so busy becoming an Elemental Witch, finding a manager to run her restaurant in San Francisco while starting up a new one in Salem that she's never actually grieved father, Victor's death.

After her mother tells Paige about her premonitions, Paige transports home in order to check the family book of shadows for information about Banshees. When she tells Phoebe, who is supposedly studying for her test, and Phoebe just shrugs. All they have to do is go back in the Banshee's history and figure out which unresolved grief issues turned the Banshee into one to begin with. She also tells her how to do this - a certain potion that Phoebe quickly comes up with. Throw it at the Banshee and she'll confess everything.

Knowing there's no way Phoebe could figure all of this on her own, Paige knows something is up. She gets Phoebe to admit to casting the spell, but that it will wear off in an hour and her project is due tomorrow. She then turns back to her project.

Paige reminds her as an Elemental Witch, innocents must come first. Phoebe insists not when it means flunking a class. Paige grabs her and transports them back to the Centre, telling her that if she helps them help the Banshee which won’t only help the Banshee, but also Matthew and his mother *and* Piper, she'll help her with her project.

But the potion requires so many ingredients that Phoebe's smart spell might run out of time. Will the Warrens be able to save the Banshee and the Tates and Piper? Will they be able to help Piper take the time to properly mourn her father and will Phoebe learn a lesson about using spells to help herself when despite Paige helping her, Phoebe fails a different class and has to repeat the semester anyway?

EMMETT: I love this event, with the annual foodie event. As always their jobs are such fun to follow. I especially like that Prudence is in charge of the event with a not-for-profit organizations where she volunteers, that's actually what one of my aunts who is in her 70s does now after retirement, she volunteers at a animal shelter and loves working with all the dogs, cats and rabbits.

ES: That's so cool!  I hope to do something like that after I retire.
