What is the scariest episode for you ? For me I think it is "The Wendigo".

Definitely Dream Sorcerer for me.
I will say, I actually like this episode. But the first time I saw Season 1 last year and watched this episode (at twenty five), it did freak me out. It still kind of leaves me feeling this way when I watch it. The whole idea of this guy (who is a mortalāwhich I think it took me a couple of watches to actually realize he wasnāt a demon or anything) being able to get into your dreams anytime you started to nod off to sleep and kill you in themā¦ THAT scared me.
Let's just say, I FELT what Prue was feeling in this one. I was scared like her! (And I mean, who wouldn't be?)
If I had been watching Charmed when it was airing live (Iād only be four then), thereās no way Iād be sleeping that night. Or for several nights. (I may have even taken a pause from Charmed for a while or maybe not even picked it up again until I was older, considering that at four that episode would have most likely made quite an impression on me.) Even if I saw this much later at like ten or something, Iād no doubt be afraid to fall asleep that night.
Now, Iāll be honest. While I do like scary movies and like to watch them with my friends, I had no idea this was based off Freddy Krueger until recently. I feel stupid for not knowing this, but Iāve never seen any of the movies he was in, so while I heard of Freddy Krueger, I didn't know anything about him. (So I guess that shows I haven't seen a lot of classic scary movies, lol.) If Iād known this and had seen those movies, maybe it wouldnāt have freaked me out as much.
Still a great episode to me and a good Prue ep that I like to come back to watch despite the scary/freaky vibes it gave me the first time I watched it and still does when I watch it now. Love that ending where heās about to say goodnight to her before throwing her off the building and sheās like, āNo, let me. Goodnightā and then she uses her telekinesis to push him off the building instead. Such a powerful moment. And I love her sisters talking to her during this moment at the hospital, giving her the strength to not give up.

Awakened is scary to me because I hate medical things, and the situation is so out of their control.
All Hell Breaks Loose is also scary because of how things fall apart so quickly. Prue seeing Piper get shot, Leo not responding to her calls, and having to fight through the crowd to get her to the hospital is horrifying. The shot of Prue grabbing at her hair as she sees the scene around her in slow motion and is yelling but no one moves is intense. I can feel it. I hate the helplessness of it.
Then the impending doom all throughout Charmed and Dangerous, even though I love that episode. It's evident they all think at one point or another that they're going to die that night, and that really comes through the screen.

Yup, 'Dream Sorcerer' for me, too, and I HATE that episode! I do NOT like being scared, and that one STILL scares me. So do 'The Wendigo' and 'Is There a Woogie in the House?' And for those, it doesn't matter that I know what's going to happen, they still scare the tar out off me!
Funny, but 'Chick Flick' scared the crap out of me the first time I watched it - I probably screamed more during that one than any other. Now I thoroughly enjoy it.
There's a different type of scared when it appeared that someone I loved was going to die (even if they didn't), but I don't think that's what this thread is about.

Hey we should do a marathon of scary episodes.. so for me
1) Dream sorcerer
2) The wendigo
3) From fear to Eternity
4) The devil's music
5) The eyes have it
And if we need 10 :
6) Is there a woogy in the house
7) Out of sight
8) Look who's barking (the banshee scares me)
9) Little monsters (I don't really know why)
10) Death becomes them

Omg yes Dream Sorcerer!
I remember watching this episode aged about 11 and spooking out my 7/8 year old sister out when she went to sleep "I'm in your dreams!".
Looking back its such a creepy episode. Did Kern write this?
The Wendigo, From Fear, Out of Sight (really scary for me).
Charmed and Dangerous is a scary episode for me.
AHBL feels scary to watch. Hearbeat goes crazy.
Chick Flick is scary and so so funny at the same time.

Of course you can add "chick flicks" instead "Little monsters" for example. For me "chick flicks" it's more of a bonus on my list because it is very funny but horror too āŗļø. Itās got the scary in it, but itās more funny, so Iād add it in there with episodes more like Sheās A Man, Baby, A Man, Sin Francisco, and Sense And Sense Ability (and even The Wedding From Hell, which I personally think has a lot of funny moments though I think itās less of a fan favorite). |

'Dream Sorcerer' for me I HATE IT. Way too scary maybe the scariest.
'The Wendigo' is scary too as is 'Is There a Woogy in the House'. Unlike 'Dream Sorcerer' both have some humor and subplots to offset the scary parts.

Not this girl. Like I said before, I don't like being scared. When I've done other marathons that include scary episodes, I'll turn forward my DVD past the scary parts. I don't find very many episodes of Charmed scary.
Certain scenes might make me jump a bit bit nothing scary except for Dream Sorcerer..
I also find it interesting that Connie wrote that episode considering we now of a lot of the unfortunate sexism that happened in the writer's room.

Revisiting this thread because itās Halloween. I was looking for the list of scary episodes we talked about back in the summer. Still maintain Dream Sorcerer is the scariest episode of Charmed. But I love it, honestly. I might in the minority here for that. Lol, I watched some of the Nightmare On Elm Street movies tonight. Watching one still as I write this. I need to go to bed, ha! I think Iām going to watch some of these "scarier" episodes of Charmed to celebrate Halloween. Those and All Halliwellās Eve. Out of Sight, the first time we saw the Grimlocks. Reminded me of It, in its own weird way LOL You know, I can totally see where youāre coming from with this one. I just watched It: Chapter Two yesterday, by the way. I saw It (the new one) in the theater with my friends when it came out... I was haunted for days lol. Maybe longer. Ha. (Can you tell Iām a scary movie person based on what I've watched? ;P) Those Grimlocks living in the sewers though... And they took children like It did... Yep. Totally understand what you mean with the episode being like a weird version of It. AND the Grimlocks make a comeback (granted, not 27 years later, but still...) I'll take the Grimlocks over It any day, though, lol. Here's a reunion idea. 27 years later, the Grimlocks come back to haunt the Halliwell sisters. Paige has never seen them, but I know my girl will up put a good fight. Punch them. Something like that. xD Anyway, I really like Out Of Sight. I liked the backstory to it all, with Brent's character. Loved the ending to it. This one will definitely be on my Charmed rewatch Halloween list. That, along with Dream Sorcerer, The Wendigo, From Fear To Eternity, Is There A Woogy In The House?, and All Halliwell's Eve. Oh, and Chick Flick, because that's just a funny play on the horror movies! |
