The finale instead of staisfying the fans with a perfect ending the jump to the future ie all of the kids and stuff created more questions instead of more answers. It was neat that the writers tried to give the fans what they wanted. Example, awhole lot of stuff in that I saw the ideas before that here on the board said by us the fans. But instead the way it was done opened up a whole lot of new loose ends instead of tying them all up.
The only way to fix this is through a, i can't believe I'm saying this, spinoff or through fan fiction.
For me the whole book writing ending thing should have been left out. Leaving us with Pheobe's wedding, Piper and Leo doing something together forever like and a glance/allusion to Prue. Like the other's the original picture would have done.

I actually liked that we saw old Piper and Leo still alive and together. It was a long time question whether they remain together and whether Piper was going to live through Chris' 14th birthday. The 3 kids/sister was sort of overkill though.

The 3 kids/sister was sort of overkill though. I agree. I think it was a great thing that they showed the Halliwell magic living on for generations and generations to come. However, all of that could have been said towards the middle of the episode or somewhere else in the eppy, for a very short period of time. What made me so upset was that the episode ended in the future. It should have ended in the present. It should have ended with the present day Charmed Ones, closing the door and that's it. That should have been the ending. We did not need this whole cheesy future crap to close up Charmed. We needed the sisters, the present day Charmed Ones who we know the best to close up the series, especially at its last seconds.

Well, first of all, I'm mad because there wasn't Prue. But I can understand that - budget cuts, fights with Shannen etc. I'm really mad because there wasn't even a picture of Prue on the wall... and also, Paige.... She barely appeared (Phoebe also).... It was all about Piper and even Penny and Patty had their share of the episode... they completely neglected The Charmed Ones...

My biggest disappointment is that I've been out of the country for about the last 3 years and have apparently missed about 3 years' worth of episodes and now it's OVER and I can't even find any recent "back" episodes on syndication! Where I am now they don't have many U.S. T.V. shows in English at all and what little they do have is dubbed into French!

It has been made abundantly clear that Shannon didn't want anything to do with Charmed ever again. I'm basing this on the very fact that she bad-mouthed the show. So why would fans still expect her to finally bury the hatchet? I don't know. The question that I really want answered is this: Would u guys rather have Shannon back for the finally or would u guys been okay to have another actress play Prue? I'll admit that I liked Prue as much as all the other fans out there. But the way shannon left the show really made me angry.

I also wanted Prue come back in the finale but we know that this would be impossible. 'Cause she didn't wanna her image in the show anymore and we have to accept that. But I missed Darryl, I think he should appear 'cause he had an important hole in there. The finale was great, but let's say, previsible. Piper and Leo together, Phoebe with a guy (after lots of them ) and Paige with someone too (after all, she deserved a nice guy). I wish I could saw more action in the finale, with demons attaching and the Charmed One kicking their asses, 'cause they needed to honor what they have been doing for all this time in the show, hehe.

I get that Shannen (Prue) could not and would not return but tossing aside Darryl is just lunacy!
Maybe at the very end, we could have had 75 year-old Darryl knocking on the front door in the future and saying "I'm a cop, sonny!" Then the door closes and that ends the series.

But, Darryl exited gracefully from the series at the end of Season 7. There was no reason to bring him back!

Also, with Kern wanting to bring back Grams, Patty, Victor, Future Chris, and Future Wyatt for the series finale (as a Valentine to the fans....an extremely smart and rewarding move, I might add!), along with juggling resolutions for Leo, Coop, Henry, and Billie, I think trying to squeeze Darryl in there (into the series finale episode) would have been a logistical nightmare. At least, in terms of how the first 21 episodes of S8 played out. In an Alternate S8, I still would have liked to have seen Darryl recur during the last half of S8 (possibly as the girls' new whitelighter, helping them fight Billie/Christy). On that note, I would have liked to have seen Sam in there too near the end....maybe not for the actual series finale, but we never got a decent Victor/Sam confrontation! "The Lost Picture Show" was a really lousy send-off for Sam.

Eh, I did not mind the fact that Sam wasn't there. He didn't even cross my mind, as to which characters I wanted to see.
I don't think that Darryl would have been hard to "fit in". They could've said that he came in for a surprise visit, or something along that line. He should've been there. They could have fit each and every character of great importance to the show, somewhere in "Forever Charmed." I could understand why Darryl wouldn't be in the whole family reunion scene(which was wow unbelievable!), but he should have shown up somewhere in the episode. And to be completely honest if I had to choose to cut some lines, I would rather of had Darryl there than either one of older Wyatt or Chris, Henry or Coop. Ofcourse I would rather of chosen to boot off Billie or Christy, to give Darryl some screen time, but we all know Kern or who ever decides wouldn't agree to that.

I suppose they could have inserted Darryl and Sheila into one of the scenes during the Charmed Ones' voiceovers (glimpsing into the future) at the end of "Forever Charmed." In fact, in the scene where Phoebe is pregnant with baby Pauline (and Coop is rushing her off to the hospital), it might have been more meaningful for them to leave Patsy and Perri (their two oldest daughters) behind with Darryl and Sheila as the baby-sitters.
But I don't see why they couldn't have squeezed in one more Sam appearance near the end of S8. He missed his only daughter's wedding! I don't care how many charges Sam had....there was no excuse for that!

^Ah, the wedding is a different story. I don't think I ever thought of why he was not there. However, now that I think about it, I don't understand why he wasn't. Good point.

It was apparently strictly family. Nobody other than immediate family was there.

But, Sam is part of Paige's immediate family. For a father not to attend the wedding of his own daughter, is a bit odd. Even though they barely saw eachother, they still however had a decent relationship.

Sam should have been there. Wasn't the whole point of Lost Picture Show the reconciliation of Sam and Paige? Doh! Sam should have been at the wedding and he should have healed Paige in the Jung and the Restless instead of wannabe whitelighter Mikelle.
Darryl could have been at the wedding of Phoebe and should have been. We just didn't see him or Sheila. I've no problem with that. The budget would not have allowed it anyway!

Paige only saw Sam a couple of times. She may be willing to form a relationship with him, but that hardly makes him close family. He may be her bio father, but he's not her dad. He's just not an important part of her life.
I think she was probably more sad her deceased parents weren't there to see her wed than a man she's seen only a handful of times if that.

I would imagine she would've been more sad about Leo not being there. He has been a more important part of her life than Sam himself.
Also, I thought we were talking about Phoebe's wedding and there was no reason for Sam to be there. He's Paige's biological father, nothing to do with Phoebe, whose father WAS at the wedding and quite possibly doesn't feel the need to see Sam.
