It is okay. Weird seeing a different actress playing Phoebe though. Very weird.
I don't have it anymore and am not sure where to get it. I'd assume it's still on bittorrent and other file sharing networks.

I also directed towards it once in alt.binaries.multimedia.charmed where it is a SVCD, still there if you have premium news like Giganews, Usenetserver and so on that has long retentions.

I did manage to download it once, but my hardrive got completely wiped so I lost it.
I didn't like the other character playing Phoebe half as much as Alyssa Milano. There just wasn't the chemistry. This may be because I was used to watching the 'proper' Prue, Piper and Phoebe, but I just didn't feel the connection between the siblings.

However, I heard that the reason the original actress to play Pheobe was replaced was because she was contracted to do something else and didn't expect for Charmed to get picked up. Well that, and she just didn't click like the producers wanted. The guy that played Andy is also a different actor in the unaired pilot.

I believe that had something to do with magic. So, she left and Spelling went to Alyssa Milano. And, am I SOOO glad for TW King to replace this guy. AND get Darryl. |

Lori Rom just doest seem like she could have been a bad ass like Phoebe was supposed to be as a teen. she seemed too "nice".

unless you have a serious mental issue (like me) that compels you to get it... i would just hit up you tube to watch it... its worth the time to watch if you consider yourself an avid fan of the show.

Yeah, I've Watched The Unaired Pilot On Youtube.
To Be Honest I Didnt Like It Much.
And It Was Good How They Used Some Of Those Scenes (Without Lori Rom) And Placed Them In The Proper Pilot Episode.
I Read Somewhere Lori Rom Left Because Of Shannen vs. Lori:
Don't Believe It Much Though, It's Way Too Typical.

I hadn't realized that they probably just reused the not Lori Rom scenes again. I had thought they reshot the show, but it does make sense. They also added a number of scenes and changed the special effects just prior to the vanquish as the whole Jeremy snake head was not in the aired pilot.
I think Lori Rom said why she decided to not be part of the show. If I recall, she indicated a lot of discomfort with the whole being a witch concept. Perhaps she could not get past all those centuries of the propaganda the Catholic church has been able to turn into second nature for Western society, but that is another story.
As for why it's not on the DVD? I suspect they would have had to pay Lori Rom for the priveledge of using the footage and Paramount seemed hell bent on cutting costs (supposedly so we could finally have some extras), which is why the theme song was changed (to save money on not renewing the rights to use it). See a theme here? It's not about the fans for Paramount, only about the money.
