I hope they stay witches though, i mean how else could they contact Piper or Grams or Patty, also, how could Phoebe be without Cole, Prue without Andy?? They must stay witches!! Also i hope Cole behaves himself so he cant be trapped now that would be bad.

"Who needs an hour?" I asked. "Of course we give up our powers. It's what Piper would've wanted us to do."

--PHOEBE--

"But, Prue!" I protested. "Are you sure? They're our inheritance from our ancestors! They're who we are!"

--PRUE--

"But you heard what he said. The innocents wouldn't need protecting anymore. We can go back to being who we were before we were Charmed!"

--PHOEBE--

"But how do you know that the innocents would be safe? He said the demons would be trapped. Think of all the other magical baddies we've faced over the years!"

--PRUE--

I sighed. "Yeah, you're right. I couldn't give up my powers if it means the innocents aren't safe. That goes against everything we stand for and what Piper died for. I'll ask the Angel first and if he says those other baddies can still get them, then I'll keep my powers."

--PHOEBE--

"But even if he says that the innocents are safe, what about Andy, Prue? Could you give him up again?"

--PRUE--

"Well, it will hurt a whole lot to give him up again, I won't deny that. But I could lose him at any moment when the Elders take him away. I've gone with him just in my heart for the last two years, I can do that again."

--PAIGE--

"I think it sounds kinda fun," I spoke up for the first time since the Angel left. "I've never had powers like this before and I can think of all sorts of fun things to do with them. And not having to worry about personal gain, just being able to do what I want, oh!"

--PRUE--

I turned to glare at her. "Powers aren't a toy. They can be dangerous if you use them wrong. We found that out last year when we were sent to the future and saw what could happen if we misused them."

Paige looked insulted. "I wouldn't misuse them. My parents trained me to be an ethical witch."

This surprised me. "So you were a witch even before you gained your powers? You could do spells and make potions?"

"Of course. Couldn't you?"

"No...wait, I don't think we could. Maybe we could and just didn't know we could."

Paige nodded. "Yeah, like I didn't know I could orb."

I also nodded. "Makes sense." Then I noticed Phoebe. "Phoebe, what's wrong? You're as pale as a ghost."

--PHOEBE--

"Prue, I can't keep my powers! I can't!"

"Why not? If you want to, you can. I wouldn't hold it against you. And you're the one who's always enjoyed being a witch the most. And getting to use your powers however you want like your heroine Samantha Stephens?"

"But that's the point. Remember what the Angel said? The only thing we couldn't do is use our powers to punish or hurt others. But that's what I did! What if I do it again?"

"Do what again?" asked a confused Paige.

"Last year, the Elders sent us to the future to show us what could happen if we used our powers the wrong way," I explained. "I was burnt at the stake in 2009. No way I want to go through that again!"

"But you wouldn't, Phoebs! You're good now!"

"Am I? You were the one who said so. I'm the one who lied to you so much about Cole that you couldn't trust me. I'm the reason Piper died."

"No, Phoebs! I just said that because I was hurting and needed someone to lash out at!"

"But you were right, Prue! I'm the one who was born here at the Manor which is on top of the Nexus. I'm the one who can most easily turn evil! What if I get angry at someone and use my powers against him like I did in that future? What if that future becomes my future? I can't take that chance."

--PRUE--

I then asked my little sister the same question she had asked me. "But, Phoebe. What about Cole?"

--PHOEBE--

Tears filled my eyes. "Giving up Cole is going to kill me, Prue, it really will. And it could kill him! Force him to remain chained in the Underworld! But, but, I can't take that chance of ending up back on that stake again! Especially if it means the start of the witch trials and all those other witches who would die due to me. I could never do that to them."

--PRUE--

"Of course it is," I agreed. "But much as I hate to admit it, Cole is an innocent now. I hate the idea that it would be him who would be punished if you choose to give up your magic. We can't use our magic for punishment--that's what the Angel said would bring dire consequences to all witches, even more than you landing on the stake."

--PHOEBE--

"So what should I do?" I begged, almost in a panic.

--PAIGE--

It was me who came up with an idea. "Well, from what I understand you saying, Cole is good now because he has his evil side under control."

--PHOEBE--

I nodded. "But he's good on account of love of me! Without me, he'd probably turn evil again, but with him, I could do evil again! Oh, what should I do?"

--PAIGE--

I shrugged. "It sounds like it's up to him. If he can stay good for the love of you, even if he doesn't have you, then he'd be able to stay up here. If not, then he's no longer an innocent and wouldn't actually deserve to stay up here. You can't live his life for him, especially if having him means that you might do evil."

--PHOEBE--

Again I nodded, tears in my eyes. "And I can't go with go with the choice that might bring dire consequences to all other witches. I could never do that to them."

--PRUE--

I reached out to hug my little sister. "Of course you couldn't do that."

--COLE--

"Of course she couldn't do what?" I asked as Andy, Leo and I walked into the attic. "What's wrong?"

--PAIGE--

All three of us quickly explained what had happened.

--LEO--

I smiled proudly at Prue and Phoebe. "Of course you'd want to give up your powers and live a normal life. You've done what you were supposed to do with them. If the Angel agrees that innocents are now safe from the magical world, you can enjoy the rest of your lives. It's what Piper would've wanted you to do."

--ANDY--

I smiled at Paige. "And it makes sense that you would want to keep yours, Paige. It's what your parents would've wanted you to do." Then I turned to smile at Prue. "And I understand your decision, too, Prue. I just wish I could've been alive to see you become normal again."

--COLE--

"Have you all gone mad?" I screamed. "Her," and I pointed at Paige, "maybe not, but you two?! Phoebe! What about us? I love you! I thought you loved me!"

--PHOEBE--

I began to cry. "Please, Cole, don't make this any harder than it already is! Of course I love you! I always have; I always will. Please, Cole, if you truly love me, stay good! Then you can stay up here and not be chained below. But look how much I've changed since I've known you and it hasn't all been for the good. I can't take that chance of ending up of being the one who brings on dire consequences for all other witches! I simply can't! "

Cole began to respond, but he stopped mid-word. Leo and Andy also froze. When we spun, we saw that The Angel of Destiny was back. "Your hour is up. Have you each made up your mind?"

Oh they cant give up their powers..and leave their loved ones!! That would be horible poor cole and Andy, but i do agree Piper would want them to lead a normal life..but why lead a normal life when your charmed? And they are giving you the opportunity the use your powers anyway you choose to.. couldnt they do a spell to make sure phoebe never uses her magic for harm or evil?? Or something..surly they cant give up their powers..its who they are! Anywho love the update guys to always keep me guessing!! You two are such amazing writers i love reading your updates!!

Had to comment on these comments so you guys can see where Primrose and I were coming from, especially me, since most of the ideas during the last couple of updates were mine, although Primrose agreed with me.

Please keep in mind that this is an alternate universe fic, so it's not the same as the TV one and even more different from the real world than the TV ones is.

The major thing to remember is that we're taking Charmed's idea of "The Source of All Evil"....the idea that there actually *is* such a thing *and* that you can actually vanquish it and when you vanquish it, it's still around (think The Source, Cole, Barbas....)...and running with it. To us that means that if you can actually vanquish said Source, *all* magical evil can no longer harm innocents--they couldn't come back--so there truly would be no need for the Charmed Ones, the reason why each sister can make her own choice, unlike what happened on TV, since if any of the sisters hadn't made that choice, there would be no Charmed Ones and no Power of Three. The idea that mortals are totally safe from magic is preposterous, of course, but so is the idea that you can actually vanquish the Source of All Evil, something we're allowing to happen.

With Phoebe, due to the Nexus, I truly do believe that if she could use her magic any way she wanted, and someone hurt someone she loved, like what's happened during my own favorite eppi, "Morality Bites", she would use her powers to harm, hence the reason I let her (since I've been playing her, Andy and Leo while Primrose has been playing Prue, Paige and Cole), make the decision she has. Of the remaining sisters, she's the one most likely to use magic the wrong way, especially for those she love, which would cause, as the Angel put it "dire consequences for you and everyone in the magical world."

Also I like her thinking of others, not just herself, not just Cole--my way of getting back at what Kern had her do when she became the Queen of the Underworld, turning her back on her sisters to become evil--proof that she truly *is* now good--so it's why I let her make this decision. Difficult, yes, but one that I feel an ethical witch should make, to put those they're supposed to protect over those who they love, the reason I can't count Kern's version of the Charmed Ones as ethical, since they always put themselves and their loved ones first. And it's our way of showing how different the Halliwells might have been had they been raised as ethical witches as our Paige was.

And Prue never truly enjoyed magic the way Phoebe did; it was simply a way to help innocents and as she said, she's not going to get to keep Andy anyway, while Paige, well, most of you have agreed with her choice--again, she's the one who has been raised an ethical witch.

That's the reason they have made the choices they have at this point. Will the AoD tell them something that will change their minds, and what will be the consequences of their choices??

You'll have to wait and see!!

I nodded. "But first we have some questions, if that's allowed." The Angel nodded his assent, so I started. "You said that thanks to our vanquishing The Source of All Evil, all of his demons would be powerless. But what about all of the other magical evil that we've seen over the last three years, like warlocks?"

--ANGEL OF DESTINY--

"Their powers have weakened since The Source of Evil became so strong. Now they will have no powers to be able to harm or influence humankind. The only ones who will be able to harm humankind is other humankind, with the exception, of course, of witches who use their powers the wrong way. And those who do that -- use their powers against mortals with malicious intent -- will have their magic bound unless they see fit to change their ways."

--PHOEBE--

That made me sniffle. Even as I sadly looked at Cole, I asked, "And what about any children we might someday have? Our powers are our inheritance from our ancestors. If we give them up, are we also giving up their powers?"

--ANGEL OF DESTINY--

I shook my head. "By the time the next generation is of age, there is a good possibility that there will be a new Source of All Evil for them to battle. If you have any sons, they, of course, will not have any powers, since your powers are for women only, and since you would become non-magicals, you would marry non-magicals. But if you have daughters, they will receive a Warren power when they are of age and find The Book of Shadows, as you did. And should any of you have three daughters, they will become the new Charmed Ones."

--PHOEBE--

Prue looked questioningly at me and I nodded before sadly asking, "If we decide to give up our powers, will we still remember being witches?" and when The Angel nodded his assent, I then gave my big sister the "Go ahead and say it," sign.

--PRUE--

I smiled as I turned towards The Angel. "Then Phoebe and I wish to give up our powers. We wish to become mortals again and live the lives we were leading before we became Charmed, except they'll be better because we'll be closer and doing the jobs we were meant to do."

--PAIGE--

"And I wish to keep my powers," I added, "and use them the way my parents would've wanted me to use them."

--ANGEL OF DESTINY--

For the first time, I smiled. "You are all wise and have all made the proper decisions, decisions that will allow you to follow the destinies that were always meant to be yours. Thanks to that, these three men will be given the same choice."

--PRUE--

"What!" I cried. "But Andy and Leo are dead!"

"And Cole is half-demon!" cried Phoebe.

--ANGEL OF DESTINY--

I nodded. "If Andy or Leo wishes to give up immortality, they will become mortals. If Cole decides to give up his powers as a demon, he will become fully human, demon no more."

--PHOEBE--

Even as Prue and I gasped at the implications while realizing what would have happened if we had decided to keep our powers, the men began to move again. After The Angel made his offer, neither Andy nor Cole needed a second to think about it. They both agreed to give up their powers and soon Andy was hugging Prue and Cole was hugging me.

--PAIGE--

I smiled at both couples, especially Andy. "Looks like I'm gonna get myself a new whitelighter," and we all laughed.

--LEO--

"Leo Wyatt?" The Angel asked.

I was much more hesitant in making my decision. I wanted to be mortal and have the chance to die and be with Piper again, I did, more than I could possibly imagine, but how could I clip my wings and stop doing what I knew she would want me to do?

"Leo Wyatt?" The Angel asked again.

I took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "This isn't truly my time period, so I don't think I'd fit in here well as a mortal. And I know my charges need me to continue to help them use their powers the right way, especially now with this change. So I wish to keep my powers."

"Leo, are you sure?" Prue asked.

I nodded. "Yes, it's what Piper would've wanted me to do."

--ANGEL OF DESTINY--

Again I smiled. "You three have also shown yourselves to be wise and have made the choices that will also allow you to continue the destinies that you were always meant to have.

"And now there are three other witches who helped you fulfill your destiny, three whose destinies were interrupted and who were given the same choice. They have all agreed to remain witches as they were always meant to be. And due to the choices you have all made, they will continue to be part of all of your lives."

--LEO--

As the six of us in the room looked at each other in confusion, The Angel vanished.

In his place stood three witches who were still witches:

John Matthews

His wife, Mary Matthews

And Piper Melinda Halliwell-Wyatt

And they were alive!

Oh Es! Oh Primrose! What a great fan fic! What a fantastic ending to a truely fantastic story. I have loved every aspect of this tale. You two are very talented writers. Kudos to you.

What an emotional roller coaster these girls went on, you displayed each wonderfully. I particularily loved those little details you added, making your story stand out. Each installment held a certain emotion that you stuck to, which made it so much more realistic.

I enjoyed how the story introduced Paige. And unlike the Paige of the Charmed that we had, your Paige had a magical background and I adore that. Every struggle the girls (and guys for that matter) went through, was portrayed perfectly - the characters personalities were down pat. Had this been the direction Charmed went, instead of progressing the way it did, I would have not minded one bit.

Oh, you guys know how to make a couple of fanfic writers feel SOOOOO good! I'm SO glad that so many of you enjoyed our writing so much!! I would especially like to thank Sammi, pipercharmedphreak, Phoebe_Halliwell and woogeyinthehouse who started reading this near the beginning and have stuck with it throughout the whole thing!

We've posted this at a number of different sites, although this is where we've gotten the best response (YAY to you guys!) and at one site, one of our readers, who has also been one of our betas, came up with a number of questions once she had finished reading the fics. They would be questions that would be answered in the sequel, were it to be written. At this point in time, Primrose and I aren't planning on a sequel....we have a few other projects both RL and Charmed up our sleeves, but if these questions inspire any of you other fantastic writers and you'd like to write another fic in our universe, feel free! Just be sure to give us credit!!

Here's StoryGirl86's questions:


1) How are Andy and Piper and Paige's parents being alive going to be explained? Is it something like there will be magical altering of memories except for among those who knew the truth about magic (i.e. the girls, Victor, the Morrises).

2) I know you aren't doing more of these for a while, but if at some point you do will you show me two things, please. I want to see Victor's reaction to Piper being alive, again. And I really, really want to see Darryl's reaction to Andy being alive, again.

3) Will Prue and Andy be marrying and will Phoebe and Cole? Now, that they are all mortal, I know they probably still have things to work out, but it would be interesting to see the eventual results.

4) Will Paige decide to get to know her half-sisters better? I mean I get that she has a different family and I think it is awesome that her parents are alive again, but now that she knows she has three sisters, will she chose to get to know them. I got the idea she will want to. I mean, she may never fully think of them as her sisters, or maybe she will, but I think she wants to get to know them and become friends with them.

5) Will they ever be able to see Grams, Patty, and Sam as ghosts again? Not on a regular basis, but ever, especially Prue and Phoebe after having given up their magic.

6) How exactly does giving up their magic effect them in regards to the magical world? I mean they still know Paige and Piper. They can if they wish, get to know Paige's parents, but what about Leo? I just don't see them walking into a room and even though Leo is there they can no longer see him or something (even though Darryl walking into the same room would)? Sorry, your thing about the guys being magical just kind of doesn't click right with me. I know that. They knew that. What on earth did it have to do with anything? Did it just mean, that if they tried to have a romantic relationship with a magical being while not magical, they would be forbidden to see each other? Or was it more than that?


Finally, an offer. While writing this, Primrose and I came up with a couple of scenes that for dramatic reasons were left out of the fic. If anyone wants to read these "deleted scenes" and get another chance to be part of this universe as written by Prirmrose and me, we'll post them.

FYI, the first is the scene between Prue and Andy when she brings him back to her bedroom to look for his shirt and he decides to glamour into Manny. The second is a scene between Andy and Paige just before he feels Prue's pain and decides to go to her, Elders or no Elders.
