Due to popular demand --- you wanted 'em...and now you're going to get 'em! May I present the "deleted scenes" for your reading pleasure....
But first, a quick word, so please bear with me. ;D
Allow me to say that Es and I are thrilled silly about your response to our offer of these "Deleted/Missing Scenes". Just remember to keep this one very important thing in mind as you are reading -- these scenes were written very early on in the process, so if some of what you read (especially Andy & Paige's scene) isn't consistent with the rest of our fic, that's the reason why. Had we kept that scene in particular, we would've had to do some major adjusting later on.
But we still had a blast writing these out -- even if they ended up on the virtual cutting-room floor.
So without further delay...
This first one would've been what was going on with Andy and Paige before Andy began to feel Prue's agony when she was afraid that Phoebe was also dying. Looking back, it obviously would've given away a whole heck of alot more than we wanted you, our readers, to know at that point in time!
--ANDY--
I put my hands on my hips and glared at my charge. "Paige! How many times do I have to tell you? You can't use your powers just for your own use! You can pick up that book and carry it over to your desk just like everyone else rather than just waving it over!"
--PAIGE--
Dang. Busted again! It was all I could do to bite my tongue while Andy was chewing me out for what was it, the third time that week? Let's see...I got chewed out yesterday, today, and the day before. Yup, three times so far this week. I'm setting some sort of record. Criminey. I wish he'd lighten up just a little bit. Of all the whitelighters in the world, I had get saddled with "Mr. No Fun." What's the point in having these powers if I can't have a little fun with them? And it's good practice too. You think he'd understand that. With a roll of the eyes, I picked up the book from my desk, walked it back over to the table and set it down. Just as quickly, I picked it back up and returned to my desk. A smart-aleck grin crossed my face as I looked over to a less-than amused Andy. "There. I went and got it without using my powers. Happy now?"
--ANDY--
I rolled my eyes. Why couldn't I have gotten a charge like Prue, who takes her powers seriously? From what she told me, this one's more like Phoebe! Wonder if Leo had as much trouble with her as I'm having with Paige. "Much better. I think. But next time, do that the first time!"
--PAIGE--
Andy's response earned a snicker and eye-roll from me as I leaned back in the desk chair. What a stick in the mud! Doesn't this guy know the meaning of the words 'lighten up'? "Sure. Fine. Whatever. Anything else you'd like to lecture me about today? Or can I just pencil in one for the same time tomorrow?"
--ANDY--
I returned Paige's eye-roll with one of my own, as I raised my eyes to Heaven, praying for patience. Very slowly and very distinctly, as if speaking to a halfwit, I repeated what I have said for what seems to be the millionth time since I became her whitelighter two years earlier "Only if you haven't learned your lesson yet. You use your powers properly, I won't lecture you. You don't, I will. That's what the Elders have told me I'm supposed to do with you, so that's what I'm doing. Now how are you doing with your potions?"
--PAIGE--
I just stared at Andy with a throughly unamused look on my face. Oh give me a break! I'm not three, you know. "Actually, I think I'm getting the hang of those. I haven't blown myself or the building to pieces yet, so I must be doing something right. Which is strange, 'cause cooking isn't one of my stronger skills." My cooking actually falls into one of the following categories: Frozen, out of a box or can, take out, and stuff that all I need to do is boil water to cook it. So it's beyond me why potions have been really easy for me to get the hang of. I tilted my head and gave him a curious look. "Why do you ask? I mean aside from the obvious Whitelightery reasons, of course?"
--ANDY--
Again I rolled my eyes at her smart-aleck attitude, again wondering if Leo had the same problems with the Charmed Ones and if he did, what he did about it. "I don't know. I just do what the Elders tell me to do. They don't tell me why and I don't ask. They're my superiors, so I follow their orders, the way you're supposed to follow mine. And they want to be sure you know how to do your potions. They'll be glad to know you think you do. Now how about spells? Have you been practicing them?"
--PAIGE--
Follow orders? Me? Keep dreaming dude, 'cause that's so not gonna happen. I chuckled softly to myself at that thought. The more annoyed Andy got, the more I enjoyed needling him. It was a never-ending game; one that I couldn't get enough of. "Spells? I'm doing just fine with those too---aside from 'the rhyming thing', which I'm pretty darned sure that they don't need to rhyme to be able to work. So most of mine are more along the line of haikus instead--although I've been experimenting with limericks too." Can't wait to see his reaction to that statement. This is just too much fun.
--ANDY--
"Limericks?? Haiku?? Are you kidding??" I threw up my arms in total frustration, wishing that it was in the whitelighter book of conduct that a whitelighter was allowed to turn his charge over his knee and give her a good spanking or at least send her to her room without her dinner. "Why can't you understand how truly serious this is, Paige? It could quite literally mean life or death. After all, it meant mine." Per the Elders' orders, I hadn't told Paige that I knew the Charmed Ones, but I did tell her that I died when I tried to save the life of another witch.
--PAIGE--
I clapped my left hand over my mouth in order to stifle my laughter at Andy's totally over-the-top reaction to my statement about writing spells in limerick form. Whoa. This is even worse than I thought. He's been my whitelighter for two years, and he still wouldn't know what sarcasm was if it walked up and introduced itself to him. I'd better fix this before he has a whitelighter aneurysm right here on my living room floor.
I waved my hands in order to get his attention and pull him out of his rant. When that didn't work, I put two fingers in my mouth and whistled...loudly. There. That got his attention. "Hey, hey, hey. Before you go getting your shorts all in a twist, I was just pulling your leg about writing spells in limerick form. I haven't written any that way. Can't say so much about the haikus...but I swear, I have not written any limericks. I'm honestly trying to follow the 'approved format', and once I go out tomorrow and get that rhyming dictionary, I'll be all set. How's that sound?" I leaned back in the desk chair, crossed my arms and waited.
--ANDY--
I calmed down a bit, but was still more than a bit frustrated with my young charge. "You know you don't have to do that. You have a computer. It can help you find words that rhyme as easily as that rhyming dictionary that probably doesn't even exist, if I know you. So you don't get to put that off until tomorrow. You can start working on it, right now. But just remember--no personal gain spells! Those will backfire every last time. You have a number of new clients at the social services. Think of spells that will help them out without them realizing that they're being helped out. That's the sort of spells the Elders want you to work on."
--PAIGE--
"Ahhh, correction! That rhyming dictionary does exist -- I looked it up the other day, so I'm not pulling your leg. And even though I can do the rhyming dealie with my word processor, you've got to admit that that's not always going to be a real handy option -- whereas that dictionary will be. There's a bookstore not even a block away from work, so I'll just duck in there on my lunch break." So there! I sat back and grinned before adding, "Don't worry about the personal gain stuff -- I know better than that."
--ANDY--
I was just about to make a retort when suddenly I grew rigid as my face went pale-white as I was hit by a wave of pain, one that hurt even more than when I had been killed by Rodriguez.
--PAIGE--
I braced myself for Andy's typical no-humor retort when I noticed the color draining out of his face, combined with a grimace of pain. "What -- what's going on? You all right? Is it something I said?"
--ANDY--
I knew that Prue was in agony. Since my death, I'd learned that she was my soulmate and hence we had a spritual connection. I had felt emotion from her often in the last two years, but absolutely nothing like this. I knew that as a whitelighter I was under strict orders from the Elders to never have any contact with the people I knew when I was alive. But Prue was in agony! If the Elders found out, My wings would be clipped for sure. But Prue needed me! My strong sense of duty battled with my love for my soulmate, and my love won out.
Looking at Paige, I told her. "I've gotta go. If you need me, just yell and I'll know and I'll come back right away," and before Paige could say another word, I orbed out.
--PAIGE--
As Andy's orbs faded I was left standing alone in my loft in total shock. He'd had to leave to help other charges before, but I'd never seen him with that look of pain on his face. "I wonder where he went," I muttered to myself as I returned to my desk and pulled some papers from work out of my bag. "And I hope he's okay."
And this second one is what happened in Prue's room after the "water fight" in Phoebe's room. Though it was a pretty good scene, we decided that letting our readers find out about "Manny" at the same time as Phoebe, Cole and Leo would work out better. So like the prior scene, it was also cut for "dramatic effect":
--PRUE--
After a couple of minutes of searching through the back of my closet, I finally found what I'd been looking for. "Ah ha." I smiled to myself, backed out of the closet and turned around to Andy. "Here you go."
--ANDY--
I smiled as I hung my wet shirt on the back of the desk chair, took the dry one from Prue and put it on. "Well, whaddya know? After three years it still fits!"
--PRUE--
I grinned and playfully tapped him on the shoulder. "Of course it still fits, you goofball. You're dead, remember? Oh, I hope Piper gets to become a whitelighter. She should. She died trying to save our innocent, that doctor. And if she does, then we'll get the opportunity to see her again, too." I gave Andy a hopeful look.
--ANDY--
Sadly and slowly I shook my head. "Sorry, Prue, it doesn't work that way. That's one of the rules for becoming a whitelighter--no going back to see family or friends. I'm afraid that as far as you and the others are concerned, she's truly gone. You know I'm breaking the rules for this and I'm surprised that the Elders haven't jingled for me yet. Maybe They know how important it is for me to be here."
--PRUE--
I rolled my eyes and let out a sarcastic laugh. "Them do something nice? Ha! That would be the day. I'm sure They have something else up their silvery sleeves." I took a deep breath, stood straighter and smoothed the wrinkles out of my skirt. "We'd better get a move on. This is going to be a long day." With that, I turned to walk out of the room and go downstairs.
--ANDY--
"One thing first," I called. When she turned around mid-step and gave me a curious look, I softly said, "A lot of people at the church will wonder how I can be with you. People who will wonder why I'm not dead."
--PRUE--
Oh shoot! I didn't even think about that possible little problem. "No!" I cried, as tears quickly came to my eyes. "You have to come with me. I need you there. If you hadn't come before, then I could've been strong, strong for Phoebe. But now that you're here..."
--ANDY--
I walked over and laid a finger on her lips to quiet her. "Shhh! It's all right. Of course I'm coming with you. But first, my favorite whitelighter trick. Check this out," and I passed my hand over my face. My hair became chocolate brown and longer and I suddenly grew a dark beard and moustache. My blue eyes turned brown and my cheekbones became sharper. "Well?" I asked. "Whatcha think?"
--PRUE--
My eyes grew large as a huge smile formed on my face. "That's perfect. You look like a Halliwell!" While Andy grinned and nodded, an idea hit me. "Ohh, I've got it. You're our cousin, Manny." Andy laughed with me, since I had told him the story of the day I accidentally became a man. "And it's perfectly AOK for you to be standing and sitting next to me."
When Andy nodded, smiling, my own smile vanished as I sighed. "Now for sure, we better go find the others," and I turned and headed out the door.
--ANDY--
My own smile faded as I followed Prue out the door and down the stairs.
Hope you enjoyed reading these as much as we enjoyed writing them!

We've very happy that you guys enjoyed the missing/deleted scenes so much, since we had so much fun writing them. Didn't Primrose do a fantastic job writing Paige? She had so much fun doing her while I had so much fun doing Andy that we couldn't help wondering what a spinoff of *them* as witch and whitelighter would've been like! And the Andy/Prue scene was also fun to write, getting to show a side of Andy that doesn't usually come up, and one of Prue, too--both of them the way we love them. It wasn't Andy's decision actually look like Manny--he was trying to look like Piper as a man, so he would look like a Halliwell and it would be OK for him to be at the funeral with Prue. It's Prue's idea to give him the name of Manny Hanks. Since you guys enjoyed those (and our fic) so much, we have another offer for you. Our beta, StoryGirl83, enjoyed our fic so much that she decided to try to write a sequel, then asked Primrose and me to tweak it so that it would sound more like our fic. Here's what she wrote as her intro: Well, Primrose and I thoroughly enjoyed what she came up with and thoroughly enjoyed tweaking it, and with StoryGirl's permission, we would love to share it with all of you. Although StoryGirl is writing this in "normal prose format", she's given Primrose permission to change it over to her special format that you've all enjoyed so much. Although StoryGirl's only just gotten it started (which means that Primrose might not get a chance to update it every day like she did with OSUD), if you guys want to start reading it, we'd love to share it with you. So let us know what you think!

Thank you so much, Alysha! Primrose and I are *so* glad that you'd like to read our sequel, and I'm glad to see that you've already found it and like what StoryGirl did. For those who would also like to read it, here it is: Turning the Page of Destiny. Didn't StoryGirl come up with the perfect title for a sequel to our Our Screwed-Up Destiny?? Thanks again to everyone who has read this fic--here's hoping you enjoy the sequel just as much!
