Part 4
(Int. Mausoleum)

"Pheebs!" Prue called. No response.

The footsteps of the sisters and Leo echoed throughout the mausoleum. Poorly lit and dank, the mausoeum felt eerily empty. The trio descended down the steps.

Suddenly Piper let out a slight shriek, "Spider!"

Prue let out a breath. "You can fight demons on a weekly basis, but you can't handle a little spider?" Prue lovingly teased her sister.

Piper scrunched her nose at Prue.

"I don't think she's here." Leo spoke

"Damn it!" Prue said under her breath. "What do we do now?"

Piper didn't answer. Her mind was elsewhere, remembering another time when Phoebe had let the family down.

"You think I abandoned you. You think it's my fault that Prue died. You blame me." Phoebe's voice called out in Piper's head. How does she always manage to be off somewhere, when we need her most; when the lives of this family are at stake.

Part 5

Prue always had a sense for when one of her sisters needed her, she could tell Piper was hurting. Prue grabbed Piper's hands and held them in hers. She looked at the middle Charmed One eye to eye.

"The spell," Prue suddenly thought. "What about the spell that you and Leo used to bring you here?"

Piper's eyes again had a sparkle. She bit her bottom lip.

And that's why your the oldest Prue.

Leo, however, did not look so convinced.

"Are you sure? That spell brought us here from five years in the future. Who knows where it would take us. Using it would be like shooting in the dark." The whitelighter type advice flowed from Leo's lips. He may not have been a whitelighter anymore but that didn't mean he lost the whitelighter mentality.

Piper let go of the comforting hold of Prue and turned to Leo. "If we do this right, it WILL take us to Phoebe. Besides, a shot in the dark is all we've got."

Leo's eyes softened. He didn't want to lose Phoebe or Paige either. He didn't want Piper to lose her sisters or his sons to lose their aunties. Leo knew that taking this risk was one he was at last content with.

Piper reached in her pocket, pulling out Coop's ring. Prue grabbed Piper's hand while Leo rested his hand on her shoulder. Piper leaned into Leo. She took a breath, closed her eyes and thought of Phoebe.

[Flashback (Episode 1.01 - Something Wicca This Way Comes)

Piper: Phoebe's good with a wrench.

Prue: Phoebe lives in New York.

Piper: Not anymore.

Prue: What?

Piper: She left New York. She's moving back in with us.

Prue: You have got to be kidding.

Piper: Well, I could hardly say no. It's her house too. Grams left it to all three of us.

Prue: Yeah, months ago and we haven't seen or spoken to her since.

Piper: Well, you haven't spoken to her.

Prue: No, I haven't. Look, maybe you've forgotten why I'm still mad at her.

Piper: No, of course not but she had nowhere else to go. She lost her job, she's in debt.

Prue: And this is news? How long have you known about this anyway?

Piper: A couple of days, maybe a week-or two.

Prue: Thanks for sharing. When does she arrive?

(The front door opens and Phoebe walks in.)

Phoebe: Surprise! I found the hide-a-key.

Piper: Phoebe, welcome home.

End Flashback]

I'll echo Phoebe_Halliwell when I say that I wish that this was how the series had actually ended. It makes so much more sense than what Kernus and Co. came up with. And I love how you've written the relationship between the oldest and the middle, it's very well done. Please keep the updates coming whenever you can, as I'd like to see how all this turns out.

OOPS! Sorry, pipercharmedphreak; I'm pulling on you what I pull on Sammi--thinking I've replied to an update and then find out that I didn't so I get behind.

Your first one, although short, was beautifully written. I love all your detail and your sticking with consistency--I can imagine Piper's reaction towards spiders after what happened during "Spin City'! and Prue's line reminded me of what she told Piper when Piper didn't want to stick her finger during "The Witch is Back". Great job!!

Oh, oh, no Phoebe! Where is that girl?? And I loved your flashback which shows how seldom Phoebe is around when she's truly needed.

Oh! What a fantastically wonderful update!! I totally adored it!! I loved Prue being there when her sisters needed her, unlike Phoebe. I loved letting Piper understand why Prue's the oldest and why she's done such a rotten job as leader of the Charmed Ones that it's caused the deaths of her sisters. I loved Leo acting the whitelighter I love even if he now a useless mortal out of his own time. And I loved the flashback that she uses to help them find Phoebe. And, oh, do I love how you took the time-travel spell and made it to fit what the sisters want!

OHHH, I hope it works!! And can't wait to find out what happens when/if it does! PLEEEEEEEEEASE update soon!

Part 6

(Int. Phoebe's Loft- Late Morning)

Piper let go of Prue and Leo's hands. She felt a wave of disappointment rush over her. It didn't work. The sting of tears plagued Piper once again.

"Where are we?" Prue asked.

"It didn't work." Piper replied dryly, with a lump in her throat.

A rustling sound came from the kitchen. Piper raised an eyebrow at Leo, knowing that there was no one here when the two departed. Prue looked at Piper, nearly reading her mind. Having such a strong sisterly bond came with the perk of knowing what each was going to say, or what was being thought. Quietly they walked toward the kitchen.

Phoebe stood at the counter pouring a tall glass of orange juice.

"I thought you said it didn't work." Prue sniped

Piper's eyes wandered until they found a newspaper sitting on the breakfast tray.

"2009?" Piper sounded confused. "Prue, it DID work. We're in the future. But Phoebe's ...dead in the future. How..." Piper struggled with saying the word 'dead' following after Phoebe's name. Her voice trailed off.

"We came here from 2001, not 2006 so the future would be different. Every action we take changes the future. Do you see Phoebe burning on a pyre?" Leo explained. His whitelighter knowledge seemed to come to good use at one point or another.

Piper took a step into kitchen.

"I hope you have a plan" Prue said under her breath, following her.

Phoebe looked up from cooking breakfast. Her eyes widened as she examined each person standing before her in the kitchen. A look in Phoebe's eyes gave it away that she knew they were not the Piper, Prue and Leo of 2009. Her hand reached for the nearest knife.

"Paige!" Phoebe called loudly.

Blue orbs began to materialize.

Ahh, looks like they found Phoebe and she's alive too, thankfully. But I can't say as I blame Phoebs for being confused about the sudden appearance of three people in her kitchen who are obviously not from this time period. Don't know 'bout you, but that would most definitely freak me out.
