I was just on twitter. I am following all four actresses who play the sisters and the two authors of the Charmed comics. I got a call from "The Source", my local comic book store (I still get a giggle out of that name) and Charmed #1 is now there! So I'm on my way over right now. I'm *very* excited!

Got it and read it! So, here's another spoiler alert! This time I'm going to write my review in white. If you don't mind being spoiled (or if you've already read Charmed #1), highlight the following:
First off, I'm very happy with the way the sisters (and Leo and Coop - no signs of Henry yet - not thrilled with the drawings of the kids, especially Phoebe's baby Prue - she looks like she is being played by the same fugly set of twins who played Baby Chris) were drawn. The sisters don't look *that* much like the actressses, but I'm glad - the ones on the cover *do* look like the actresses and I don't think they're pretty at all, while the ones in the comics are all very pretty, especially Paige as a redhead. The characters are all in line and so far they're the Paige, Phoebe and Piper (since that's the order they're introduced) who I love, not the Miss Whinealot, PhoeME and Ditzy who starred in the last three seasons of the show.
It's supposed to be 18 months since the Big Battle, but I still insist that no way Wyatt (who is not a blond, but whose hair is styled differently than Chris') is 3 1/2 and no way Chris is 2! At the very youngest, Wyatt is 5 and Chris is 4, making this closer to 3 years in the future, which works, coz that would make it 2010. So as far as I'm concerned...
I'm also not happy that although Piper's daughter is older, she's named Mel (which I assume is short for Melinda) while Phoebe's is named Prue. No way I can't see Piper naming *her* daughter Prue and no way I can see Phoebe naming "Ladybug" that - she just never seemed that close to Prue, not the way Piper was. Actually I'd be happier if Phoebe's daughter had been named something else, because then I could pretend that Piper's daughter is Prudence Melinda - the name they were going to give Wyatt if he was a girl - but are calling her Melinda, while Phoebe's was Patricia WHATEVER, but they're calling her WHATEVER. So I'm more than just a bit irritated about that, but can accept it because up to this point, it's the only thing about the series irritating me.
I'm not thrilled with the powers that were given the two kids (HATE it when kids are more powerful than their mothers who are supposed to be Charmed), but up to this point, the powers (and the way the powers are shown) are fun. Hopefully those powers don't take over the series...
I liked the two demons and their powers, especially Neena, and I've got a funny hunch that the BIG BAD is going to be Zankou, which would be absolutely fantastic, since then I can pretend that except for Paige meeting Henry and Phoebe meeting Coop - which I can pretend happened during S7 rather than Leslie and Brody and *oh, well* Drake - S8 never happened, because I definitely prefer this plot to the ones during that season.
I read somewhere that the first five issues make the first "episode". If that's the case, this would be the Teaser and it works fantastically as that. Kudos to Paul Ruditis, Raven Gregory, Dave Hoover, Millen Parvanov, Jim Campbell and Ralph Tedesco.
What truly irritated me is that of 34 pages, only 24 of them are truly Charmed #1. The other 10 pages are Zenoscope previews, none of which I was particularly interested in, especially at $3.50. I would've preferred paying the $1.99 I paid for Charmed #0 and only have the 24 pages or paying $3.50 for Charmed #0, get the previews and then for the same price, get more Charmed, including getting to see Henry and Paige's twins.
But for now, I'm happy and looking forward to Issue #2.
If you want to reply and are going to do some spoiling, why not do it this same way?

LOL, been thinking about the fact that there's no way little Melinda looks like she's less than a year old and no way that Wyatt and Chris look like they're less than 5, maybe even less than 10, despite calling Piper "Mommy".
I realized that in a strange way, in the world of Charmed, that makes perfect sense. After all, in "That Seventies Episode" there's no way that Little Prue, Little Piper and Little Andy are all under 5 and if we believe the years we are given, Little Prue is almost 5 and Piper is almost 2!

it was ok, though while the art is good, it just seems so stiff even for a comic. Espically when it comes to Paige, she is very expressive with her face so that was a let down. But hopefully everything will come together nicely storywise.

Previews for issue #2: www.newsarama.com/php/multimedia/album_view.php?gid=2369&page=24A couple things that caught my attention: - Why do the twins have red hair? You can explain away Paige's, but not theirs. Neither parent has natural red hair.
- Looks like Britney died of the same thing that they originally saved her from . . . old age. Interesting. I wonder if that is how any other innocents they lose will die, in the same way they would have had they not been saved.
- Still no sign of Henry . . . but it's only five pages, so that's okay. I just am really curious to see him in comic form.
- Does anyone else think Wyatt and Chris look like they have backpacks on? Why would a three year old need a backpack? A four and a half year old, maybe, though still unlikely, but a three year old? I think they really don't know how old those boys are.

Well my nephew started going to day care at three and a half, and he takes a backpack with him. They do activities, coloring, learning to write their name, so he takes "school supplies" with him. Could be the same for Chris... Kids are very intelligent by the age of three; they're almost independent little people who are full of curiosity. |

Okay. That sounds reasonable. I guess I was thinking more that he's too young to be in elementry school. but I think Leo's taking all of them with him to magic school, so maybe he has stuff with him to do while they are there. Thanks, Reality Bites.
Apparently Paige has to deal with a major personal gain issue if she is doing this. I asked the Charmed Comic authors (Raven Gregory and Paul Ruditis) about the hair color of Paige's twins and here is the responce I was given. @paulruditis StoryGirl83 It's a glamour. You know how much Paige likes trying new things with hair. *insert smiley face here* The statement is funny, but glamour smacks of personal gain. Thought I'd share his response though. |

The ginger gene doesn't have to come from parents, infact hair colour can be totally random. My Nan has ginger hair but non of her children have it and non of her grandchildren have it.
Infact weirder still, we have family friends who have two young children about the ages between the ages of 5 and 8. The oldest has bright blonde hair while neither parents nor grandparents have blonde hair. Her sister has bright ginger hair which does come from her mother side of the family as her mother and aunts do all have a red tinge to their hair colours.
So taking that into consideration, the ginger gene could be random or could come from Henry's side of the family.

OMG! I just saw some previews for Issue #2 and PAIGE'S *TWINS* HAVE GINGER HAIR! Now that's just not right! Paige I can accept - we know she loves to color her hair. I prefer her as a brunette, but it helps keep her separate from the others. BUT HER KIDS??? I can't wait to get my issue tomorrow and see if that's only in the previews, because the colors in the previews don't look like the ones in #1. But, OH, these pages: Page 27 and Page 28! They're brought my Piper and my Phoebs back! I can't wait! I can even accept all the kids and ginger-haired twins and fat fugly Prue who looks like she's played by the fat fugly twins who played fat fugly baby Chris when lovely Phoebe (prettiest in the comic books) who has a cupid for a husband should have the prettiest baby if they bring back the sisters I love! |

I am dissapointed by the fact that Phoebe's belly button hasn't been featured in the comics yet. It was an important character in the later seasons and had very interesting plotlines. It had a well deserved place on the top of the ending credits, so I am curious to know where the character went.  I am really disappointed they gotten rid of this character. (This is sarcasm by the way  |
