I can't tell you how happy I am that Charmed has been given another chance and we'll have more to discuss and enjoy from the halliwell sisters. What would you like to see happen in the comics coming this summer?

I would like all the things I'm sure we won't get: - finding out that the last half of S56-S8 never happened and that Wyatt was actually Prudence Melinda who isn't the Twice Blessed Brat and who doesn't have a brother who comes back from the future--in fact *NO FUTURE CHILD* is ever shown except for Baby Prudence Melinda--it's all about the sisters, not their men or their children
- letting them be sisters who happen to be witches and not demon hunters who happen to live in the same house
- emphasis on plot and not sl*tty costumes and new powers
- smart demons who you truly think can beat the Charmed Ones, so you sigh with relief when they're vanquished.
- Elders who aren't more demonic than the demons
- death meaning something--no corporeal spirits, no Charmed One dying and coming back to life fifty times.
- no Poor, Poor Pitiful Piper, Ditzy Paige or Freebie/PhoeME, but three sisters who I can admire, like I did during the first three-and-a-half seasons.
That's what would make me excited about the new comics, but I'll bet my bottom dollar I don't get any of them. |

How about the destruction of the Whitelighters Council? So that readers don't have to deal with their crap anymore.

More like Andrew from "Touched by an Angel" than Death on "Charmed", although he's her boss. |

I really like Es's idea...an avenue in the Charmed journey that had never occurred to me. Personally, if I were about to pass on, I would rather confront Prue than the dude who looks like he just came from a shoot out at the OK corral. But in my fantasy I still see her as a ghost first. In her own home of course. That would give her time with her sisters and chat with them about some of the things they have done. Lets call it a little direction and discipline. She could meet and get to know Paige and spend time with her nephews. I think they all needed a little Prue. The the angle of death could approach her with a new assignment, namely his, for what ever reason. It would be interesting to see how she would deal with the offer. Just a thought.

Or, at the very least Prue could be brought into the comics much like Grams and Patty had been. |

Charmed is not the same without Grams.... almost unreadable. I can see Victor not being there for some time and even patty to some extent but I think she needs to make appearances. Coop and Phoebe are married now so if this takes place after Phoebe and Coop get married.... Coop sadly needs to be there. Henry needs to be there now that him and Paige are married. This is all assuming that this takes place after Forever Charmed when they wrote what happened down in the book before they became old grandparents. However, I am hoping that this comic series takes place before S8. Though, I do want Henry to marry Paige and I am hoping that they show more interaction between them and time. I'm hoping for Cole's return and another marriage between and him turning good.... that won't happen though and we'll see little cupid children... |

Hello ES...I am confused by this. I know that SD would not allow her image to be used on the show....but does this also include a comic book series too? I thought maybe it wouldn't and therefore that is the reason I mentioned her. Did she have the insight to cover all of the bases? I mean, who would have thought that years later such a great interest in the show would exist that an image of Prue Halliwell could not be used in another form of entertainment. This is not to say that I would not honor her desire to not be connected to PH in any form, but is that the case? In a way I would think she would enjoy it if it was done well.....an interesting way for her to have the very last laught... something going her way that Kern could not control. Unless of course he is....

The major reason why I don't think she will be part of it is because if she was, I think she would be one of the characters who they would've wanted the potential artists to draw as the test for who would be drawing the comic books. And I think that when Kern gave them permission, he made it clear that it was supposed to be about the current group so there wouldn't be more questions as to why Prue wasn't part of the latter parts of the series, especially "Forever Charmed", which *he* said he wanted to concentrate on the current trio. Now I've never seen the Buffy comics so I have no idea if someone who has been off the show has been allowed to come back. Maybe such stuff does happen in comic books and if such a thing is done and done well, no one would be more thrilled. But I just don't think so. |

Kern has no control over what they do with the comic. And while Shannen has control over her image, they dont have to draw Prue as a straight on model of Shannen. I know that with Buffy, Joss had to send the covers to FOX and to SMGs reps to make sure that they were fine with it (basically making sure that they didnt make SMG look crazy or anything liek that). Probably the same with Charmed but they dont have a artist that is drawing TCO as close to reallife like with Buffy covers.

I think it will be weird if Prue was brought back as a ghost, it would feel unnatural and lets be honest, I think it would be untrue to the series. Prue has never come back in anyway, she was occasionally talked about, and they have never tried to bring her back. I just don't see how it would work.. Let's assume she comes back - what happens to the power of three? I think it would get really complicated, even as a ghost. People would just start complaining even more and asking more questions about how she can suddenly come back, etc. We will all know why, because it is a comic and Shannen would supposedly allow them to use her image. I also think that it would leave us feeling unsatisfied in the sense that if she did come back as a ghost, there is no way that they could do justice to her character, or to the scene. I guess it could work - but she could only come back for a short period of time I think. Piper would flip if she came back, so what is supposed to happen? Prue comes back one page and the next they are all fighting demons again? I think it would be inconsistent for some reason. But on the other hand.. Maybe I am wrong In the end, I think it would be better if she didn't come back for all those reasons and more. Love her to death but.. She's dead. Haha |
