What is in your opinion the saddest scene or dialogue from Charmed and why?
Here are my top three:
3) 4.20 - Long Live The Queen
The end scene where Phoebe is crying on her bed and Piper comes in and begins comforting her, with Paige waiting nervously at the doorway. Then she joins them and the three of them embrace, and then Paige silently begins to cry. This scene is so sad because it reflects the emotions Phoebe is feeling over the death of Cole, but also it reflects Paige's emotions at finally being accepted into sisterhood, and sharing a tender, loving moment with her sisters (the first one, I believe).
2) 4.03 - Hell Hath No Fury
Quite an obvious one, but the end scene where Piper, Paige and Leo are in the mausoleum and Piper begins shouting at Prue's headstone, blaming her for leaving her. I believe this is Holly Marie Combs' best acting in the series, heartbreaking. Especially after Charmed Again, it was good to see Piper attempting to cope, and then completely breaking down once more.
1) 3.22 - All Hell Breaks Loose
This is just pure brilliance. The scene where Piper is dying after being shot and Prue is by here side, this dialogue:
'Don't you dare die on me!'
'Prue, I'm cold, I, I can't feel my legs, don't go.'
[Prue sobs]
'I love you.'
Absolutely heart-wrenching, I cried every time I watched that scene. The best acting scene on Charmed in my opinion. The chemistry between the two actresses as sisters and as friends was mesmerizering and Holly's performance was spellbinding. Also, how 'I love you' were the last words that Patty said to Prue. I think if All Hell Breaks Loose would have panned out differently, and Piper would've have died, that would have been a fitting death scene.
Anyway, what about you guys?

I will have to get back to you on that one. Because these scenes were pretty heart wrenching. I mean the episode where Andy dies and they have his funeral and the song "Calling all Angels" is playing tugs at my heart every time.
Also, Imaginary Fiends. When Leo tells Wyatt that he won't hurt him because he's his father and he loves him. I cry every time.

I think all three of the moments you mentioned, Alex, are absolutely heart wrenches. As are:
- Andy & Prue in the Afterlife in which Andy tells Prue that he has to stay while she must go back to her sisters. Deja Vu All Over Again, 1x22.
Possibly one of the sweetest scenes of the show.
- Prue and Piper try to save future Phoebe and Phoebe bravely admits that it has to end with her, that "the wrong thing done for the right reason is still the wrong thing." Morality Bites, 2x02.
Alyssa pulled out all the stops here and this is one of those moments where you can really see the chemistry between the three girls. Beautiful!

My all-time favorite sad scene/dialogue is 4x03. Piper just kills me every time I watch that. Such PURE emotion. Holly definitely used her own grief and anger and love for Shannen in that scene.
And close second would be 1x22's porch swing like Dan said. Oh, Prue/Andy, be still my heart.
In general, 1x22 is just BAWL for me. Three times PA have the convo by the railroad tracks and it just progressively gets more emotional, so by the time they're saying ILYs, I'm in tears. And then Andy dies and that porch scene...I'm so out of it.

I have four: 1) Piper trying to heal Leo during "Love Hurts" and then her telling him that she wouldn't want him to give up his wings to be human with her because then he couldn't save the next Daisy. 2) Phoebe talking her sisters into letting her burn in "Morality Bites"3) Piper telling her sisters that they have to let her die during "Awakened" 4) Leo begging the Elders to give him back his wings in "Murphy's Luck" so he can go save Prue from the darklighter. All of these show what I love best about Charmed and it's these scenes that makes the last few seasons so hard for me to watch - the reason why I don't watch them. But this is what really makes me cry. It's fan-made, but, oh, if only... Shining Allure's "The Story of Prue's Death: FInal Chapter - Forever Sisters" |

Phoebe and Bow the connection and the torture scene. The acting is amazing the editing is fantastic
P3H20 Phoebe reliving their mothers death.
Piper at the end of hell hath no fury. Holly was brilliant.
When the girls had to vanquish Cole and Phoebe kissed him and said "Sorry baby" and then they said the spell to vanquish him that was a great scene.
When the girls get their powers and Piper is talking to Phoebe and her concern of being a witch. Holly did that so well.
When Piper is dying in awakening and Leo heals her.
When Piper says something like this "neither were hearts meant to be broken" to her sisters. Just beautiful.
When Prue blames herself for Andy's death that dialogue is so good and Shannon says that so well as she is crying.
No other tv show comes close is these scenes that make Charmed the masterpiece that it is. This is why this show will always be my favourite show in the whole world. You go through a rollercoaster of emotions it is better than going to the shrink and I know that for a fact. This show so heals your own heart. What a blessing this show is.

Said saying was when Piper said to Sam something like this "Do you think the elders brought you and Paige together so she could watch you die" Epic need I say any more. When I was watching Sam I am I thought this is one of my favourite episodes Sam is so tortured and in emotional pain. Especially another part is when he has trouble healing Paige and Piper says "You will not drown in self pity while Paige and my husband die" now that is what makes Charmed brilliant!

Another sad time in Charmed was when the Angel of Death told Piper he was going to take Leo and when Leo was frozen. What an amazing show that was. It was epic that show and beautiful. I liked when everyone looked like Leo that part was funny.

The moment the sisters kill Dr Williamson in "Astral Monkey" & Piper rushes over crying "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." then later on when she sits on her bed & Leo orbs in sits down next to Piper & hugs her as she cries whilst the song "Letting The Cables Sleep" by Bush plays on in the background which i thought was perfect for the moment makes me sad everytime i watch it. & also at the end of "Kill Billie Vol 2" when Piper hugs Phoebe after the manors blown up & cries out for her dead sister.

It's funny - when I read that I translated it to "Piper telling Paige Paige may not be able to have kids" and I was trying to figure out which episode that was - then I realized it was "Piper telling Paige Piper may not be able to have kids" and my heart simply ached because I wish so much that she never had had them!
But you're right - even though she never should've became a mother (or at least not until the series was long over...), when she told Paige about that, it was extremely emotional.

I facepalmed myself for forgetting the most important scene. The one between Cole and Old Phoebe. What makes things more sad is that the actresses who played Old Phoebe, Frances Bay, passed away in 2011  |
