What are your views on this particular love interest. Personality wise, they were so wrong, but they looked pretty good together. I think if the writers had played there cards right, they could of had a good thing there, because in my opinion Phoebe should be with someone who has a career. Coop has not got a career, and it must be horrible on his male pride, to have his wife pay for everything, if she had married dex the stress of money and other marital burdens would of been shared.
Persides Dex was hot! and he looked like he would stand up for himself, where as Coop is far to whimpy and goodie goodie to even think about having some back bone and being a man!

No WAY! First of all, we know practically nothing about DEX, except that it rhymes with sex. Second, Phoebe's reason for marrying Dex was the result of a poorly understood premonition. And, third, DEX had to be one of the worst "promotable" hunks on Charmed.

Absolutely not. Of all the senseless "relationships" Phoebe was in, this one was one of the worst. She barely knew the guy and worst of all, she barely cared. He was just a sperm donor to her.

To me, Dex represented nothing more than another illusion for Phoebe. He does not strike me as the kind of person with whom Phoebe would have to work with in order to make a relationship work - as is the case for any mature adults. He seemed like some prize that the Elders gave her in order for her to indulge in her childhood fantasy of a "Cinderella-like" relationship.

Dex and Phoebe's relationship was based off of nothing but expectation and fantasy. All Phoebe wanted was a man to have her baby with and Dex didn't even know Phoebe's real name until very late.

Dex and Phoebe's relationship was based off of nothing but expectation and fantasy. But isn't that all Phoebe *ever* wanted in her guy? Even with Cole, she saw him as the guy she thought he was, not who he really was, the reason she could turn on him so fast--easier to blame *him* for her becoming the Queen of the Underworld than to blame herself. She was SOOO shallow! How she could possibly be an advice columnist or to get empathy, I'll never understand. And for Kern to constantly give her fantasy-type boyfriends (Demonic Cole, Rich Jason, Sexy Leslie, Almost-Dead Drake, Sperm-Donor Dex and Cupid Coop) was simply too unrealistic. I never thought of Charmed as a fantasy show, but the way Phoebe's lovelife was handled most definitely was. |

Coop does not have a decent career! Fact! Ok he is a cupid ill give u that, but he doesnt get paid for it, and phoebe is the only one bringing a wage in, coop is not supporting his family at all. So in that sense Dex wins, because he could support kids, coop cant

How do we know Coop didn't take on a mortal occupation (the way Cole worked at a mortal law firm), in order to blend in with the mortal world once he and Phoebe were married and he remained a constant in Phoebe's life?

If that were basis enough for them to dump a guy, Piper should've dumped Leo a long time ago. We know he worked an awful lot as a whitelighter, but he didn't bring any money to the house.
As much as I disliked Coop, I don't think him not having a paying job should be reason enough to disqualified him as a life partner. There are other ways to help out the family that don't necessarily involve money.

This is definitely true. Especially when I'm sure Phoebe was making a lot of money with Ask Phoebe, a job she adored, so one she wouldn't have wanted to give up (and the book I'm sure Coop helped her write), there was no need for Coop to have a job. Especially if Phoebe could accept the fact that Coop had a very important job, that of a cupid. Although I agree that most likely, if Coop spent most of his time with her and their family (and I can't see Phoebe staying with him if he didn't), that he would probably take some sort of cover job.

And if the only reason Phoebe would marry Dex is so he could support her, well, that's an ultra-shallow reason; even more shallow than Phoebe usually is! And why would Dex want to marry Phoebe then? He was in love with Julie, a mortal columnist writer. Do you really think he'd be able to accept Phoebe the witch?

But what i am getting at is....
If the writers had played their cards right, and been more sensible with that character, told us more about him then it could of been a good thing. But they didn't and they lost what COULD of been, a good thing for Phoebe.
I find that people only don't like Dex cos they didn't know enough about him to get to like him, i am sure that if he had been in since season 1, opinions would be different

well ya if he was in the show since season 1 things would definetly be different but he wasnt and we didnt knwo anything about him and it seemd hat Phoebe only wanted him so she could get pregnant fast since that was what she was whining about all through the last few seasons but i liked coop even thoguh he didnt have a "real" career leo didnt either but he neevr seemed gulity about Piper supporting him so anyway im not saying anything bad about Dex he seemed nice but like i said before we didnt know much about him and Coop was a cupid after all so i was happy to see Phoebe end up with him

What has Coop being a Cupid got to do with it, If Dex was a Cupid, you still wouldn't like him. I don't like Dex, but, i would of done if i knew more about him

well wierd after reading what i posted earlier i even confused myself i guess i was tired lol anyway lets try this again Dex and Coop were both not the show that long so we dont much about either i only liked Coop more cause he was a cupid and Phoebe was finally able to find real love so i was glad about that but Dex and her would have made a good couple if he fell in love with Phoebe and not her new identity
