When in God's name did Piper and Leo ever have to WORK on their relationship once they were married? The single exception was going to councilling after Wyatt's birth and obviously neither of them continued to use what they learned there. Fate (aka Kern's doofy plotlines, always set up to make us feel sorry for Piper, not proud of her as I would had she worked on her relationship) always seemed to bring them back together--not work on their part--you never once saw them apologize for what they'd done wrong. Have the Charmed Ones or Leo ever apologized for any wrongs? Like Leo apologizing for being a jerk to Paige when she tried to warn him about Cole?

I guess my idea of Piper and Leo working at their relationship and yours are different.

I don't think you always need to show characters apologizing for their actions. We don't always need the "I'm sorry I was wrong" or "You were right" conversations within a show because it stalls dialogue and action. We understand when characters are in the wrong and when they finally come around we expect that they do feel sorry.
If we had Piper and Leo apologizing for what they've done (both to each other and to innocents and various magical creatures) then we'd have wasted way too much time.

But they never changed what they had done wrong. Had they, then, yes, we would know they had learned their lessons, worked out their problems and we could feel proud of them.
But Piper kept thinking that everything she was doing was right, no matter if it was having sex in an alley shortly after she had sex with the firefighter, showing she wasn't being responsible and using birth control with the firefighter (Chris SO should not have been conceived) to treating Leo as her own personal errand boy to using magic for her own personal gain right and left without ever getting a backlash. She never changed while Leo had to keep adapting to her, continuing to be her whimpy errand boy. Where's the working on the relationship in that?
Ljones, I would love to know your definition of working on their relationship and showing some examples when it was actually them and not outside forces (ie. Kern's doofy plotlines). I'm always the first to admit that I'm wrong, and I'd truly love to have *some* reason to again respect what was originally my favorite couple and my favorite plotline (up to Oh, My Goddess) and then became my least-favorite, which is saying something with how stomach-turning all of Phoebe and her slampieces' relationships were (bringing it back to the topic of this thread).

... Not to sure what having sex with Leo in an alley has to do with anything AT ALL. All I can say is that there are some people in this world who believe they're always right and who are stubborn and don't change their ways easily. That's life.

Okay, going back to Phoebe. This is going to be a weird question but is Phoebe of Season Eight, thinner and/or weaker than than Phoebe of the early seasons?

Now that you mention it. yes, she is. She does look thinner as the seasons went by.

Now, we know why Phoebe wasn't seen kicking demon butt in the later seasons. She gets worn out.

No, she gets weaker because she's annorexic (spelling). Just like Alyssa was--she was at least 20 lbs. underweight and looked horrible when by looking at her clothes, she obviously thought she looked sexy. She looked SO much better in her next role.

I thought she looked super thin at times in season four. But some people are just very small.

Okay so Phoebe reminds me so much of me, with the whole love thing. I mean i loved Alyssa since Who's The Boss and seeing her grow up with me wow. Any ways I had the same hopes and dreams Phoebe did and she was my role model and even though the shows over I watch my dvds over again and think wow she's my inspiration she keeps me going , i stay focused and positive. Long Live Phobe. ;D

In my opinion Phoebe's character has gotten bitter about Charmed duties over the years feels that magic "owes" her. She seemed to grow as a person but not as a person in terms of relationships. However, her job was handed to her on a silver platter. She only got her job through magic because she was helping an innocent. To me though- that's hardly "growing". However, I enjoy Coop, despite him being named Coop. However looking back into the episode where Prue, Phoebe and Piper went back in time it did say she'd marry a guy with a C name... I just wish Coop would have been around longer before they tied the knot. I have the same problem with Paige and Henry.... not enough couple screen time. You don't really have a chance to see as much as you'd like.

She did. His name was Cole Turner. She married him in mid-Season 4, even if he was possessed by the Source at the time.

What is Phoebe's philosophy on forgiveness and redemption for humans?
Like, can humans redeem themselves and how does she express that in her advice column?

Not really. Just like Piper & Leo.
Phoebe could've never been happy as long as Cole was a demon; Cole could've never been happy as a useless mortal, just like Piper could've never been happy as long as Leo was a whitelighter, and no way Leo could be happy as either her little errand boy or headmaster of kids who could use their magic on him, part of why I'm convinced that "Forever Charmed" is just Piper's delusion as she dies after the explosion in "Kill Billie, Vol 2."
Both would've been much more happy with a non-magical who could accept their magic.
Poor Phoebe because she kept running into men who were wrong for her, starting with Cole, definitely. But you can say the same thing about Melinda Warren, Grams, Patty, Prue, Piper and Paige.

:'(poor phoebe she could of been so happy with cole I don't think so. I used to think that way. But not anymore. I wish that Cole had learned to live his life without Phoebe. I don't think she was ever mature enough to deal with a complex relationship. Hardly any of the sisters were, but Phoebe really had a problem in this area. Even Paige had commented on this. As for Cole, he seemed to have regressed from his stand in the Season 3 episode, "The Demon Who Came in From the Cold". He was bent upon stopping the plans of his former order, despite Phoebe's disapproval. She didn't want him to interfere, but Cole thought it was the right thing to do. After that, he seemed to have this opinion that he needed Phoebe to be good, and it was a false opinion as far as I'm concerned. What the show failed to convey was that all sentient beings are a complex combination of positive and negative . . . and that one's moral compass should be judged upon choices; and not on what one was.
