i have just looked at a picture of Shannen, Holly and Lori Rom, and i have to say. She just doesnt fit in like Alyssa does. Sorry, but the role was made for Aylssa

Just to give you a heads up...this is a family site so you might want to watch your language even though you did leave out a letter.

Lori Rom is the original Phoebe Halliwell from the unaired pilot episode of Something Wicca This Way Comes.

There is already a thread or two with a link to the unaired pilot so if you look around it says right in the subject that it is about the unaired pilot.

Lori who? I don't think it matters that she was the original Phoebe. I think Alyssa completely took the character and made it hers. Rom missed out on an opportunity.

The original pilot episode is not on the DVD set that was released in the United States.

Drewsgal, I have to agree with you 100% on this issue. Alyssa was so born for the role of Phoebe Halliwell. I watched her every episode on Melrose Place and while she did a good job, there was just something about her voice tone and comedic talents that just weren't a proper fit for that show. When she breathed them into Phoebe Halliwell, the character really came to life. Even Holly said something along the lines of, "Alyssa brought something different to the role, and it was something we needed."

As I haven't seen Lori on the show, I can't comment, but I would have liked to see her for a few episodes, at least.

I have watched the pilot and Lori Rom's performance was very flat compared to Alyssa's. Maybe it was because I saw Alyssa first but Lori did not do the part justice IMO. I have also seen the pilot of Buffy with a different Willow and likewise the original actor was flat compared to Allyson Hannigan.

i watched the pilot with lori and i guess we will never know if she could of been a good phoebe or not compared to alyssa... butttttttttt i guess i wouldnt of watched it that much? i didnt care for her really. she wasnt kid like. she could of played prue. she acted oldder... maybe it's just me?

Stock Actress, as in her prefered roles are short term guest or "extra" apperences, such as Being a Nun on that Show

She's been a guest/extra actress on Dawson's Creek, Party of 5, and CSI and such over the years as well.

I saw the pilot with Lori Rom, I like Alyssa much better as Phoebe. Lori's acting was not back but she was to soft looking for the part of Phoebe. I think Alyssa really made Phoebe the best. I think Lori would have been great on the show playing another part.

I thought Lori failed to convey emotions at all. She just seemed to read the lines and that was it. She also had little facial expressions, she was completely wrong for the part.
