I like her both as a whitelighter and a witch...the character is both for a reason.

Something I find rather odd about Paige's power advancements was that they were all w/l powers and not witch powers. I guess her w/l side was stronger than her witch side.

I think both suit Paige.

Paige is a confusing character. She does not fully acknowledge Sam as her actual father (see "lost picture show" as example) but has no problems accepting Patty as her biological mom (listen to her in "witchstock" after young Penny talks about Patty outside. Paige seems to have an affectionate and loving tone)

I think that Kyle was the best guy for her...and I think that her powers were fine, but she really did need to acknowledge her father more than she did...I really liked Paige, I mean, Piper I took for granted, Prue I didn't like at all, and Pheobe I loved, but page was kinda Nuetral...I liked her power, she just needed to be a little more mature when it came to listening to her sisters over listening to her bf's

The Elders would not have had the right to take Paige away from Patty . . . even if she was the daughter of a whitelighter.
If the Elders really had that much control over the Charmed Ones' lives, then Piper would have never been able to order them to stay out of their lives in Season 7.

No, but they would have known - or at least suspected - that these were not going to be the Charmed Ones unless Paige were kept apart from her siblings. Perhaps the Elders would have tried to raise her, as Jonah suggested the Elders might wish to do with Wyatt and Chris once the sisters had "died" at the end of Season 7.

The Elders and the whitelighters were guardian angels. They should have never had such power over the Halliwells or any other witches. That's ridiculous. Patty and Penny, in my opinion, had no earthly reason to fear that the Elders would do something to Paige or take her away. They would not have had the right to do so. They should not have such power over them in the first place. The only one who should have been worried about punishment was Sam. Even when the Elders found out that Leo was trying to marry Piper behind their backs, only Leo suffered any physical consequences by the way they had teleported him out of the Halliwell manor.

When (and if) one of TCO dies, would the Elders feel guilty as to know they were the ones that stopped the line there and did not have a backup in place?

When (and if) one of TCO dies, would the Elders feel guilty as to know they were the ones that stopped the line there and did not have a backup in place? The Elders would have had NO RIGHT to take Paige away from Patty. None, whatsoever. What on earth were Constance Burge and Brad Kern thinking in allowing witches to be controlled by guardian angels in such a manner? That's ridiculous. They call themselves doing a TV show about Wiccan witches, and instead stick Judeo-Christian morality upon the characters. Good grief! Guardian angels can help their charges . . . ONLY with the latter's consent. To have guardian angels assume control over mortals - magical or not - in such a fashion is absolutely ridiculous. If the Elders lacked the authority to touched the Charmed Ones when Leo and Piper tried to get married behind their backs, then they would also lack the authority to take Paige away from Patty. As I recall, they could not coerce Paige into assuming whitelighter duties in Season 7. They had to convince her. And if this is so, why on earth would Patty and Penny fear them taking Paige away from them?

i think paige is a great whitelighter/witch she helps innocents and she helps phoebe and piper when they need the power of three. i am glad she is a social worker to help people and she is an awsome aunt to wyatt and baby chris. she has a heart of gold and she does what she has to do to defeat demons and whatever comes their way

While reading the recap for "Imaginary Friends", I learned that the Maori people are among Paige's new charges in Season 7. What the hell? The entire Maori nation from New Zealand? Are they kidding?

I believe she had one member of the Maori nation as her charge! But, the way the episode reads I suppose you could lambaste the writers for stretching this a bit! But, given Paige's enthusiasm for all things different - remember her research on African pygmies in A Witch's Tale? - I think we can excuse this bit of hyperbole.

You mean to say that the whitelighters - whose religion seemed to be basically Judeo-Christian in attitude and who claim to be familiar with Wicca - would have a Maori amongst their charges?

Yes, indeed I am. As for the Judeo-Christian stuff, yes there are semblances in Charmed that lend ammunition to this charge. But, we never ever encounter the entire hierarchy of Good. As I argued elsewhere, I believe it is mistaken to view the Charmed Ones as good incarnate. They are not. If they were, then we run the risk of absolving everyone else of the moral imperative to act in a way that allows good to flourish. Worse: we put them on a pedestal and make them what: Jesus-like. Are the Charmed Ones the trinity incarnate? I can't buy that.
Inclusion of the Maori into the world of whitelighters and Elders does dilute the apparent Judeo-Christian bias. And who could be against that?

paige is awesome she is my fave character ;D she had alot of catching up to do after the terrible loss of our dear sister prue. she grew into her powers very nicely and learned to love being charmed! at first she was unsure whether or not she should believe all that witchy stuff but she soon became a believer along with phoebe and piper. in the end she saved alot of innocent lives and married a great husband and had the most adorable little children. and you know the coolest part she never stopped taking care of her charges and saved them with her whitelighter power! ROCK ON PAIGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
