Paige is awesome. She was the same as Prue other than being like phoebe who! Flew on a BroomStick, and could Levitate. "I!" also would like to have her powers, and paige was a good Social worker, and took care of her Charges and tried to keep her charges in line. "I!" would give anything "Myself!" to meet Rose Face To Face In Person before "I!" go blind from Diabete's and Starvation as well as for going into Kidney Failure And Limbs are cut off of "My!" body, and wind up in the Hospital Dieing.  |

Why did Paige feel that she had to assume whitelighter duties?  Was this due to some erroneous belief that because her father did, she had to follow in his footsteps? One doesn't have to assume whitelighter duties to act as a guide for others. She could have done the same as a witch. |

I have a lot of respect for Paige. She isn't my favorite but I still love her. I don't think it is fair to compair her to Prue. If you did I would say she is better then Prue because everyone had very high expectations for her because Prue was so great. Paige had to become a really good witch. She had to be no worst then Prue. It would be really hard for her. What if they were to say your not like Prue. Prue was really great and she had to replace her. Which she will never actually replace her but she was deffinally just as good of a witch as her. Which makes her even better. Do I make sence?

You make plenty of sense. Prue had to die so, that Paige could come along and take her rightful place in The Charmed Family. |

I'm afraid not.
I like Paige a lot.
But I certainly don't agree with the opinion that Prue HAD TO die, because Paige HAD TO become part of the Charmed Ones. If it were not for Shannen Doherty's quarrel with Brad Kern, Paige could have easily never been introduced.

I do like that Paige came in the picture. I didn't exactly like it that Prue had to die to introduced Paige, but I liked the idea of the whitelighter/witch. Someone else other than Leo....I liked it. It was a twist and interesting.

I am collecting the Dvd's of Charmed and I am actually going backwards 8 to 1 because I like Paige and wanted those seasons first.

Yep, that's what was nice, that they were diffferent, but great characters in their own way.
I just wish they'd let Paige truly be what she was--a witch with whitelighter powers, not a whitelighter or a witchlighter or whatever other word you want to use. She was a Charmed One, that's what was the most special part of her and that's what the show kept forgetting, especially during S8 when they tried to make her a whitelighter, something no one can become until they're dead. It was one of the show's biggest problem--it made death seem like nothing to fear, when the only main characters who died and stayed dead were Andy and Prue. Even Cole wasn't truly dead since we saw him caught in Limbo, so we always had hope that he could come back.

I think that Paige is really awesome because she learned magic very quickly and learned to grow into her powers besides she got along with her sisters.

Getting those calls was not her choice. It's just who she is. It's a part of her. I'm glad Grams came in and stuck up for her. But she shouldn't have been able to hear those voices; the Elders shouldn't have been able to call her. That started back in "Sam I Am". I could understand that..it was a way to connect her with her biological father, not truly try to turn her into a whitelighter the way they did in S8. She's NOT DEAD!! Becoming a whitelighter is something that's EARNED, not inherited! It's like if you're a high-school cheerleader and later on you marry and have a daughter. Your daughter might have your reflexes and your beauty and your voice, but she's NOT born a cheerleader--she has to earn it! You DON"T become a whitelighter just because your father was one! (and how someone who's dead can have a child, I'll never understand) You have to *earn* that right. And, yes, I think Paige was on her way to earning that right, but she should not have become a whitelighter until after she was dead! That was one of Kern's HUGEST mistakes! |

You're definitely right about that, and if I didn't love the first two seasons of Charmed so much, when Leo was *ACTUALLY* an angel and Piper actually fell in love with an angel, my favorite storyline on Charmed (which became my *least*-favorite after her baby-tantrum in "Oh, My Goddess" and then she wasn't happy until he became her little errand boy. One of my favorite characters became my least-favorite--little selfish, self-centered b*tch! One of the reasons I love Paige--the only one of the second set who *didn't* turn into one of those! I sincerely wish that when Chris had obliterated Leo's orbs, they had *stayed* obliterated, then I could remember my favorite love-story as that, not something that was horribly ruined, the same way Phoebe & Cole's love story was ruined. I'm glad they didn't ruin Prue and Andy or any of Paige's.), I would probably feel the same way. I just get irritated whenever they take something so beautiful and make it so mundane. Letting someone become an angel just because their father is one.....*shudder* |
