Were Rex and Hannah the gate keepers to evil?
What I mean is, they were the first big bad that the sister had to defeat. Opening up concept of something more evil out there, introducing the triad in the next season.

Good ol' days with Rex and Hannah. They had something and they were first continued evil threat in Season 1. Plus, they nearly managed to win over the Charmed Ones, yet failed as Leo stepped in and practically healed the Book. Nice power, by the way. Rex and Hannah were cool!

Rex and Hannah were great, but shouldn't have been introduced as evil so soon. Hannah was always unlikeable, but Rex had enough charm to come off as a normal guy, so it could have really been a shocker late in the season to find out he was evil all along.

You mean like make it seem like Rex was unaware that Hannah was a demon and then come out with the surprise that Rex is a demon too.

I do think that they were both sent to take out the Charmed Ones. They might have been introduced at Bucklands but that's it, and long before Prue worked there.

I also would of taken the path of keeping their identity a secret. I don't think we would of lost out on much and the reveal and path off would of been alot more satisfying.
But I still liked them as they were. Those sexual style scenes were always really good to watch as the two actors had lots of chemisty.

They were one of the most enjoyable villans on the show. Shame that both had to die.

I was glad when Hannah died - horrible parody of a woman - but I preferred Rex and his powers as the Ultimate Evil much more than the Source - I wish that Rex actually was the Source and that it was Prue who was actually seduced over to the "Dark Side" rather than Phoebe. And if that meant no half-demons, so much the better. I would've much preferred the Charmed Ones' archenemy to be a warlock rather than a demon and that all demons were The Demon of...

So have no source at all and have demons and warlocks? I never understood why warlocks couldn't change their mind and decided to be good witches again. You can change if you want to change, free will and all. Or is it that demons and warlocks don't have free will?

I think we saw that way partly with Prue's friend in S3. Forgot his name, sorry. If you kill people, then you will become a fully warlock. And the more, the deeper you are warlock and can't go back to be a good human or witch. These are my thoughts. ;D

You can change if you want to change, free will and all. Or is it that demons and warlocks don't have free will? From what I can tell, the only ones who have free will are humans and once witches become warlocks, they no longer are. And demons never were. The reason why the idea of a half-demon makes no sense. And, yes, I think having the Source, especially since he *wasn't* truly the Source of All Evil (since Evil can never be truly vanquished and if the Source was, then it would be) was a bad idea. Rex would've made a much better Ultimate Evil, especially if he and Prue lasted the entire series..

Rex and Hannah. Aww, the early greats.
They were good enemies for the first Season, although I think they should've explored them more and maybe had their vanquish as a later plot-arc, instead of being vanquished mid-season.
Although, your points up there about Rex being the Ultimate Evil I really do not understand. I thought that at the time when the girls were weak, they were a great threat. But if say the CO's of Seasons 6 - 8 faced them, they could be easily vanquished. They were good for Season 1, but beyond that I think they would have been lacklustre, and Rex and Prue as a couple. Eugh, just no.

Rex and Hannah didn't make it to the end of season 1, they only made it to half way.

They appeared in less than 10, I'm sure of it? Wasn't their first appearance in "I've Got You Under My Skin" and they were vanquished in "Wicca Envy"?

I think, the reason why their attacks were on a lower scale is because the COs were still learning. If they'd have had the chance to watch as the COs learnt, their attacks could have been bigger, which would have made them the perfect as the Source - especially Rex. I think Hannah was far too whiny and almost teenage like for her age - but then, I do know managers of a business that are like that so...
Meh, bad tangent there. What I'm trying to say is that I could see Rex as the Source even though his attacks were on a small scale in the first season. The evil grew as the COs grew in power so I could have seen them written completely differently as the Source. I think it would have been great to have them back in Season 8 as the foe for the COs to fight - take it right back to the beginning almost. Their first "big evil" could be their last.

I really can't see Rex as the Source or Ultimate Evil. Warlocks were the lesser species when Evil was concerned, and his powers just didn't seem as intimidating.
Rex was an interesting character, but I really, really do not think he was interesting enough to last more than one season. I agree his and Hannah's arc could have been longer, but it was still a good arc.

I kind of like the idea of bringing them back in the end to be the ultimate evil. Warlocks stole power from others to work themselves down the chain so to speak. Rex and Hannah would be more powerful in season 8 after how many years of being underground plotting their attack. It would have been very interesting.
