Charmed Without A Choice

Piper sat next to Jake, and looked at him really carefully, he had Grams hair and the way he gesticulated when he talked, looked a lot like Patty's.
"Don't worry you'll be fine, now rest if you need anything just ask." she said and ran her fingers through his hair. She went downstairs and entered the living room.
"Well, I assume that you're all happy to know that Jake is...." She stopped talking the moment she saw Prue, standing there in the middle of the living room. "Prue?" She said and walked towards her, she stopped in front of her and then looked at Phoebe and Paige. "Is she really...?" She couldn't believe it, but the one that was more surprised than anyone was Chris, he had never seen hi Aunt Prudence in anything more than pictures and now she standing there meant a lot to him.

No one seemed to be payong attention to Draydon. They seemed to all be wrapped up in there own little world not caring that their neighbor just saw everything. Draydon turned around opened the door and stepped outside, making sure to slam the door loudly. He then walked to his house all the while thinking about what had just happened. It was all to much to handle. He has lived next to the Halliwels all of his life and never, NEVER, suspected them to be witches also. They seemed to be going through a difficult time so he decided not to bother them at the moment, but told himself that he would go back later.

Phoebe felt so indescribable happy when she saw Prue and when she took her into her arms. She began to cry. "Was this really real? Is she really back?", Phoebe thought. She realized that she missed her more than she thought.

"Prue... i missed you so much", Phoebe said with many tears in her eyes.


Paige felt a little bit confused. She wasn't sure how Prue would think about her, but when Prue accepted her as her sister too and took Paige also into her arms, Paige felt a kind of connection between Prue and her, like she had felt it some years ago with Piper and Phoebe.

"Thanks, big sister", Paige smiled. "I heard a lot about you- and i'm proud to get to know you too now... so welcome back home."


Suddenly Piper came into the room. Phoebe and Paige realised that she was surprised, too.

"Yes, Piper... it's really her, she's back"; Phoebe said with a big smile on her face and with all this tears in her eyes... with this tears of happiness...

Prue smiled at Paige and Phoebe and hugged them. "I am real and I am here and I am glad to be home" she stated and turned suddenly when she saw Piper and she looked at her softly and slowly guided her hand to Pipers. "Oh Piper, you have no idea how proud I am of, you protected this family better then I could, I am so proud of you, you really the hear of this family" smiled Prue as she hugged Piper tightly and kissed her forehead before dragging her other two sisters into the hug so all four were hugging.

"Leo get your ass over here and join in the hug! You better have taken care of my sister mister!" she said playfully and when she saw Chris she smiled softly. "Chris..your road has been a long and hard one, but just like your mother, you were way too stubborn to give up and I thank you for that" she smiled and kissed her newphews forehead and hugged him as well.

Piper looked at all of them, tears ran down her face.
"Prue! I can't believe it's you!" She hugged her big sister.
"Hi, Prue." Leo said. "Long time no seen." Chris looked at all of them and then saw at his Aunt.
"Aunt Prue looks a like Aunt Paige, don't you think?" Chris whispered to his father.
"Yes, she does." Leo said and gave Chris a tap on his back. "Go and talk to her, she won't bite." Chris approached Prue.
"Hi." He said and looked at his mother.
"Prue this is Chris." Piper placed her arm around Chris' shoulder. Chris looked at Prue, and smiled at her. Suddenly they heard someone coming down the stairs, Leo went to look and saw Jake.
"What are you doing here? You should be up resting." He said.
"Leo!" Piper yelled from the living room. "where are you?"
"I'll be right there!" He yelled back. "I'll take you upstairs." He said looking at Jake.

Jake had had trouble sleeping, his head was hurting and his back was killing him and he was too confused and agitated to stay asleep so he began to walk down the stairs when he saw Leo trying to take him back up. "Okay, first of all mister, I don't trust you enough yet to touch me, second of all, I will decide when I rest and when I don't want to and after been thrown into the wall, it's kind of hard to just take a pleasent nap, okay?" he stated as he weakly continued down the stairs.


Prue looked from Chris to Jake and a twicth of a smile came up. "I see he inhrited Piper's stubborn side" she whispered and Jake slowly walked through to the hallway, eyeing the others with suspison and he noticed Prue, realizing he had not seen her before. "Who are you?"


"Your Guardian Angel" she said bluntly and Jake stared at her and then gave a short, fake laugh. "Well you weren't doing much guarding when I was thrown into a wall."

"You shouldn't talk to her like that, Jake." Chris said. "She's here to protect you, like all of us. And, shouldn't you be upstairs, resting?" He said looking first at Jake then at Leo.
"I tried to get him to get upstairs, but he won't listen." Leo said and gave a look at Piper that clearly said help!
"Jake, honey, I know you don't trust us, but don't you think that if we wanted to hurt you, we would have done it already." She said looking straight at Jake, she came closer to him. "Believe me, you can trust us, all of us." She said and looked around them, Paige, Phoebe and Prue standing all together, then Chris and then Leo.
"We are here to protect you." Leo finally said after a long silence. "You're our first priority right now, believe us." He said and stood next to Piper.

Jake watched them all, he wanted to believe them, but he was stuck in the past and for all he knew, these were the ones who had done it, after all, they were the ones who had seemed to known him, but before he could say anything, a set of blue and white orbs appeared and an Elder appeared causing Jake to spin around and face him.

"Ah, Jake, you have arrived, we are deeply grateful you stayed and we are sorry for the circumstances."

"Woah, woah, woah, dude in the robe, how do you known me?" he asked and the Elder paused before answering. "We were the ones who brought you here, after your foster parents murder, we knew it was not safe for you to be there, so we-" the Elder paused as Jake's face went pale, it seemed he did not know about his foster parents murder.

"Exuse me, wh-what did you just say?" he asked, his face filled with horror and confusion and the Elder turned to Prue. "I thought the sisters would tell him."


"You gave them about an hour, it takes a little longer then that!" snapped Prue and Jake backed away, fear and horror in his eyes. "No, you can't be, your not telling the truth, how could, why would" he stammered, tears forming in his eyes.


"Sweetie please calm down" started Prue but Jake's eyes and he threw his arm out to keep her away but to his shock and horror, darkness shot from his hand and slammed Prue in the air and onto the floor. Horror in his eyes, he took slow step backs, his world crashing down as he spun around and ran out the door.


"Okay one, what the hell was that power? Second of all, he was just about to trust us!" Prue yelled at the Elder in anger as she pulled herself up.

"Yeah, he was about to listen to us!" Piper said shouting at the Elder. "Now, we'll have to go and get him."
"Let me!" Chris said. "I found him the first time, I'll find him again, after all, I brought him here didn't I?" Chris said and was about to orb when Leo stopped him.
"No, I'll go this time, Chris." He said and orbed out focusing really hard on Jake.
Chris was about to orb out after Leo, when Piper stopped him.
"Let him go. After all he is his father. He'll find a way into him." She said.
"But, I am his brother." Chris said now sounding mad.
"Yeah, and if you treat him the way you and Wyatt treat each other, I don't think he'll ever trust you." Piper said. "Now you'll wait here, with us and if your father calls for help, you can go, otherwise sit down and enjoy the show!"She said with the tone of voice she had when she was nervous, so Chris sat down, he didn't want to upset his mother more.

"I am sorry for this inconvienience, but the thruth would have come out eventually, I apologize" stated the Elder and he dissapered in blue orbs.

"I am so going to retire from being a Whitelighter early" sighed Prue as she sat down beside Chris and smiled at Piper. "Don't worry so much, that's still my job sis. But still, that power, it was...different, it wasn't evil or good, but I think I know what power it was..."


Jake did not know were he was going, he was just running as fast as he could, hot tears running down his face as he ran through the busy streets, he just kept going as fast as he could until he was in a park, a quiet one, where he just got to his knees and curled his fingers into the grass, the fresh tears running down his face as the grass around him turned black from his power.

"Jake?" Leo said behind him, then he came closer and kneeled next to him. "I can't tell you that I know how it feels but we were going to tell you when we thought you were ready to hear it." He placed his arm on Jake's back. " I am really sorry you had to find out this way. I am, you have no idea how much it hurts to see you like that." Leo said. "Now let's go back to the manor, we can explain you better there." Leo said and stood up, he handed his hand to Jake.

"Why are they taking so long?" Piper said walking back and forth.
"Mom, would you want me to...?" Chris said, his voice sounded hopeful.
"Forget about it, I already told you only if your father called." She said and kept walking. Chris looked at Prue.
"Was she always like this?" He asked in a low voice so Piper wouldn't listen.

"Oh yeah, Piper is always been Piper, she's just...more commanding now she's a mom...and a wife" smiled Prue in a whispered tone and she slowly looked at Piper. "Piper there is something you should know, Jake's power, the one we saw, it's the power of darkness, a power which I didn't I would ever see, it's a power that most Elders talk about in legends."


Jake's fist clenched further and the black grass began to spread, he shook his head, tears of anger and misery stinging his eyes. "You have no idea how I feel" he said slowly, his voice bitter as the darkness began to spread slightly.


"He's right, you don't" came a voice and Jake's head snapped up and a figure stood before him, a women in her late thirties, by appearence anyway, in a suit, with long blonde hair and brown eyes, she was beautiful yet something in her eyes wasn't human.

"Mom?" asked Jake in a timid voice, clearly someone had shape shifted into Jake's foster mom. "Don't listen to him Jake, he just wants your power, you don't have to share it...it can be yours, the power can be yours, he said I was dead and I'm not" she said and rose her own hand. "Come with me..."

"Don't listen to her, Jake!" Leo yelled at Jake. "She's not your mother!" Leo looked at the woman. "Stay the hell away from him! If you give one more step I'll call the Charmed Ones and they'll come for you!" He said then he called Chris.

Chris heard the call.
"Mom, dad is calling us, you and me, he needs Aunt Prue as well." Chris said and gave a hand to his mother. "Let's go!" He and Piper orbed out. They orbed right next to Leo.
"leo, what's wrong?" Piper asked and then looked at the woman. "Please don't tell me that she is who I think it is." Leo nodded, and Chris looked at Jake.
"Common I'll get you out of here!" he said. "Things might get ugly." He looked at Piper's face it was full of anger. "I correct myself, things will get ugly!"

The women watched them in amusement. "What are you going to do? Kill me? Kill Jake's mother, that's all they want Jake, to kill the one person who loves you, they already killed your father and all for you power, let them suffer, the power is yours and yours alone Jake" she said slowly as Jake took a few steps towards the imposter of his mother, a few tears rolling down his face.

"No!" yelled Prue and ran towards Jake but the women sneered and shot lighting at Prue and threw her into a tree. Jake spun around to see Prue fall and then back at the imposter of his mother. "Come to me Jakie, we can do this togethr, we can take revenge together..." she stated as she threw another lighting bolt at Prue.

"No!" yelled Jake and threw his arms out, and suddenly the lightning froze in place, inches from Prue, looks like he had inherited Piper's power as well. Jake ran over to Prue and helped her up and the women sneered. "Meddling whitelighter, you should have stayed dead!" hissed the women at Prue.

Piper looked at the woman and tried to blow her up but she wouldn't.
"What's wrong with my power?" She said looking at her hand then moving them again and again to see if the power would work. Chris looked at her mom trying to blow the woman up.
"Mom, what's wrong?" Chris asked.
"I have no idea." She said.
Leo ran to where Jake and Prue were.
"Are both of you OK?" He asked, Chris ran towards them. "Dad something is wrong with mom's power."
"What power?" He asked, and Chris made a hand movement that meant blow things up. Leo walked towards Piper.
"What's wrong?"
"My power won't blow up little miss impostor, right over there." She said pointing at "Jake's mom"

The women's mouth twitched slightly in amusement. "Hm, no power I see? Well this will make it all more easy" she grinned and formed a fireball in her hand.

"Watch out for the fireball!" yelled Jake but as he said the words, the fireball dissapered in blue orbs and re-appeared in his hand, causing his eyes to widen.

"Jake throw it!" yelled Prue and he stared at the women who stared at him with fake sadness. "You wouldn't kill mommy would you?" she asked and Jake stared at her with cold, hatred eyes. "Mom hated the word mommy, she thought it was demiening" he stated and threw the fireball, sending her stumbling back and she hissed as she shimmered out and Jake's eyes sofetened and he lowered his gaze suddenly.

"Jake, are you alright?" Chris asked. Piper and Leo approached him.
"Jake she was not your mother, she was a demon trying to steal your powers and believe me it won't be the first time or the last time that you'll vanquish. That's one of the reasons you are here for so we can train you." Piper said and looked at Leo.
"Jake, you might not understand this but it's in your genes, not the unhuman, killer part but the part that is good and protects inocent people." Leo said and looked at him. Chris looked at his brother.
"Jake, I get the feeling, believe me I do. But things happen for a reason and you being here was meant to happen, I assure you that." He said and stood in the middle of Piper and Leo.

Jake listened to what they had to say, but only half of it went into his mind before he finally spoke. "Just take me away, I don't want to be here right now" he said softly and Prue slowly rose to her feet and nodded at Leo, Chris and Piper. "I'll orb him home" she said softly, expecting the other's wound follow suit.

A good twenty minutes after getting back, Prue walked down the stairs and into the living room. "Well, Jake's finally asleep, he's pretty shaken up though, he told me that he's moved from adoption home to the next all his life and he fianlly settled at his last adoptive parents two years ago and he had finally started to like his life....poor kid, he's been through a lot" she sighed slowly.

"I bet, being a Halliwell is not easy." Piper said and looked at Prue. "I can't believe you're here, I summoned you after..." She looked away and Leo spoke.
"Piper, that's past. What's important right now is Jake and how we can protect him. The demons already know he's here and he's got kickass powers." Leo said.
"OK, first Wyatt got the real kickass powers, now my little brother. Why can'y I get powers like that? Hah?" He said and sat down.
"Things happen for a reason, Chris. Maybe the Elders don't think you're ready for them." Leo said and Chris gave him a Piper look. "Yet, they don't think you can handle them yet, right,Prue?" He looked at Prue in need of help, the last thing he needed now was for one of his sons to be mad at him.

Prue smiled slightly at Leo and Chris. "Wow it's just like listenting to Piper and Leo talk and even though I don't known what the Elders are thinking, you Chris are beyond special and I know for a fact that powers are only half of what makes a witch kick ass and besides, you probably will devlop another power and even if you don't, you can move things with your mind! Stop complaining or I won't feed your younger self cookies when Piper's back is turned!" she teased with a smile.


She slowly looked at Piper and Leo a few seconds later. "The Elders think that someone or a group have followed Jake as well from the future and have decided to try and find a way to end the Halliwell line at this point and time, that's how Shax attacked, in the future he came back...which means that they obviously want to try and sway Jake, because even if his powers are powerful, they are dangerous, the power of darkness, just the feel of it, it's such a heavy feeling, like being dragged down, it's like a burden, especailly for someone who does not reside in the dark.."
