Charmed Without A Choice

Leo looked at Prue.
"I'll go." He said and orbed out.

Chris looked at Jake and moved the lighting again. Leo orbed inside one of the classes, he was about to come out when he listened Chris talk.
"Jake, you're just mad, you don't want to hurt me. I get how you feel about repressing your anger. I have an older brother, he has always been the perfect son, the perfect student, the powerful everything was him. It's like I didn't count at all. I suppressed my anger and focussed it on something else, I worked harder and harder everyday to top Wyatt and there are days that all I want to do is get even and just let my anger lead me. Jake, listen to me, I get you, you have no idea how much." He said and waited for Jake to answer, Leo after hearing this orbed back to the manor.
"He didn't look like he needed help." Leo said to Prue.

Prue looked up from the book and saw Leo return and nodded slowly. "Thanks for checking Leo, you're a good dad, don't worry so much" she smiled, knowing he was probably more worried then he looked.


Jake glared at the other and watched him with cold eyes as he listened, his eyes slowly moving to the ground before slowly looking at Chris and closing his eyes and suddenly spoke softly before dissapering in a red light.

"I hope you're right Chris, for both of our sakes."

Back in the manor, Jake who had been asleep, eyes widened as the red light dissapered into him and he coughed loudly and Prue quickly knelt by the other and smiled slowly and looked at Leo. "One down, one to go" she stated as she looked around curiously, seeing that the last Jake was nowhere to be seen.


The last Jake was with baby Chris and Wyatt and all three were playing with the toys, Jake looked more like a child as he played witht he fire engine with the other two, clearly he represented the lost child in Jake, the one who never got to be a child, the one who had been just one child in an orphanage with no real childhood.

Leo looked at Prue and smiled, he was thinking about what Chris just said. He couldn't get the words "It's like I didn't count at all" out of his head. He then looked at the other Jake, the one playing with Wyatt and Chris and smiled. But Chris' words kept repeating itself over and over inside his head.

Meanwhile Chris was still at Magic School.
"OK! Listen up everybody! Party's over!Now all of you clean up this mess!" He looked around and saw several teachers coming out of some classrooms. They looked at Chris.
"Now, you're in charge." He said and orbed out. At the mannor he saw his father sitting with little Wyatt, little him and the other Jake. When he orbed in, Leo looked at him and stood up.
"Well done, Chris." Leo said stretching out his hand. Chris took his father's hand and smiled.

Prue walked downstairs with Leo and watched them from the hallway, smiling, arms crossed when she saw Chris, she grinned and hugged him around the waist. "Not bad Chris, you are definetly a Halliwell" she grinned and kissed his cheek before pulling away, unable to give a sad smile as Jake's last split self acted more like a four year old as Chris sat on his lap as the two played with the bricks and Wyatt helped keep them steady, if it was not for the fact that Jake was in his teenage form it would look like three toddler brothers playing like a normal family.

"Hey Jakie, I think it's time you went home" said Prue softly as she got on her knees but Jake did not look at her and kept playing with the bricks.

"I don't wanna go back, I like it here more" he stated with a soft voice, a child's voice.

Leo looked at Jake.
"Well, why don't we make a deal? If you go home I'll give you an ice-cream, how does that sound?" Leo said looking at Jake and Chris smiled as he saw little Chris turning around as soon as the words ice-cream came out of Leo's mouth.

"Dad, don't you think the ice-cream trick is old fashioned?" Chris said and Leo turned to look at him.

"I know what I'm doing, Chris." He said and turned to Jake again. "Well what about not only I give you the ice-cream but also I give you the firefighter's truck?" Leo said and grabbed the red truck and handed it to Jake.

Jake watched Leo with slight suspison, staring at the fire truck in his hands, unsure if he should trust him, grown up's were meanies! They always came and went and they always left him behind, but as Jake's eyes met Leo's, something flickered and as Prue looked between, he could see the same compassion that Leo had always had in his eyes in Jake's, the compassion to help others, to do what's best, to protect loved ones.


Jake slowly but surely held his hand out and slowly rested it on the fire truck in Leo's hand. Slowly, Jake turned to a gold light and slowly dissapered.


Trust. That had been the key. The teenager had trusted Chris, the child had trusted Leo. A few seconds later, the real Jake groaned as he walke downstairs rubbing his eyes. "God, what a nap, I feel like I've been asleep for years" he yawned and blinked at everyone.

"What?"

Leo looked at him and laughed.

"Hey, Jake how are you?" He asked and Leo approached Jake.
Chris followed his dad with his eyes and then looked at his aunt.

"Has my dad always been like that?" He asked, now remembering the days where all he could think of was to get rid of Leo Wyatt, where all he could think of was that everybody prefered Wyatt than him. That's part of the reasons that he liked to come back to tha past, he could be him not Wyatt's brother. He looked at his aunt again, waiting for the answer. He was just hoping that she couldn't read his mind because then he'd be in serious trouble.

Jake shrugged slowly. "Like my soul was just ripped into three and forced into my body, you know, the usual" he shrugged but gave a slight smile.


Prue smiled at Chris. "Leo has always been about family, you should have seen the look on his face when you were born, I was in the after life and we could still see him beaming away like a Christmas tree" she smiled and looked at Chris. "He's not the same man you knew Chris, this man thinks the world of you and always will, because you are his son, one of his pride and joys and that will never change."

Chris smiled at her. He was no so sure about what she had just said. Maybe she could read minds after all. He approached to Leo and Jake.

"Hey, Jake! Had a nice sleep?" He said in a sarcastic voice and Leo looked at him.

"Can I get you anything, Jake?" Leo asked. "What about you, Chris?" He asked and Chris looked at him.

"I'm fine thanks, dad." He said and looked at Jake. "I bet that Jake needs some water, right?" He said looking at Jake and giving him a look that clearly said we need to talk.

Jake blinked and opened his mouth to speak but noticed Chris's look and gave a short, nervous laugh. "Yeah some water, Chris, why don't you show me where it is" he stated as he slowly walked into the kitchen and he slowly turned around and stared at Chris.


"Okay spill, what did you want to talk about?"


"You doing okay there dad?" teased Prue with a slight smile as she stood beside Leo and playfully nudged his shoulder.

"I've missed your jokes, you know?" Leo said and smiled at her. "You know, Jake is a lot like Wyatt, older Wyatt. Now Chris is completely diferent but I understand him a lot. I really identify with him, he acts a lot like me." He said and smiled at little Chris and Wyatt.

Chris was walking next to Jake.
"I need to ask you a favor." He said looking straight into Jake's eyes. "I need you not to tell anything about what I said about Wyatt and my dad, please." He said with his pleading eyes and looked at Jake. "You can trust me, Jake. I trust you." He said and gave Jake some quick slaps on his shoulder.

"Well Chris is like Piper and you, you are both worry worts and he will probably become the glue that holds Wyatt and Jake together and I missed teasing you about Piper" she added with a smile.


Jake gave a confused look. "What you told me? What are you-oh, sorry man, I don't remember anyhting you told my angsty self, but don't worry, I will make sure he doesn't tell anyone, your not so bad....for an old guy" he suddenly broke out into a grin, well, consdering Chris was in his twenties and Jake was in his teens, Chris was quite a bit older.

"Yeah, and you're not so bad for an angsty teen." Chris said and messed with Jake's hair. Suddenly he saw Piper and Draydon downstairs.

"I don't think this is a good time for us to come down." He said and looked at Jake. "Why don't you back up and let me get you the glass of water?" He said looking at Jake. "We sord of have a problem." He said looking at Draydon.

Leo was in the attic looking at his 2 boys.

"You're right about Chris he'll be like Piper with you and Phoebe."

"Hm, sounds like Chris is going to have a ball, I can just imagine Wyatt telling Jake he has no sense of the future...and not relizing how much it hurts him" said Prue with a pause and lowered her eyes, god how she wished to take back all the things she had said to Phoebe before, she was so proud of her youngest sister and she had no words to describe it.


Jake rolled his eyes and flicked the other's ear. "Yes mother" he grinned, but obeyed as he headed upstairs slowly and into the spare bedroom, which he landed on with a thud and stared at the ceiling, sighing heavily.

Chris watched Jake go into the room and hurried downstairs. Piper looked at him and Draydon.

"You're back! How did it go?" She asked the moment she looked at him.

"That's not relevant right now, mom. I'll tell you later, now the question here is, why is he still here?" He asked looking at Draydon. Piper gave him a severe look.

"Chris, can I talk to you for a second?" Piper said and looked at him, she walked into the dining room and Chris followed her. "You can not do those comments and expect that people don't feel bad about it."

"Mom, but he has to leave. We can not let him see Jake. Imagine how much we'd have to explain him."

"Jake? Does that mean that there's only one Jake now?" She asked and Chris nodded. "But how was it possible?" Chris remembered his chat with angry Jake and Leo's way of getting little Jake back. He smiled.

"Let's just say that it's a family thing. Now, if you'll excuse me I have to take a glass of water to Jake." He said went into the kitchen and moments later he came out with the glass of water he went upstairs and knocked on Jake's door.

Piper smiled as she saw Chris being that nice to Jake, then she went back to Draydon.

Jake slowly looked at the door and looked back at the ceiling again. "It's open" he called but when Chris would walk in, Jake's eyes would return once again to Chris and he would smile slightly.


"Hey you brought me my water" he stated. As he said those words, the glass of water dissapered from Chris's hand and into Jake's in a series of blue orbs. It seems he had Paige's power as well.


"Huh...well....that was...different" he said slowly and stared at the glass in his hand with a now paling face as he looked up at Chris. "I bet you see this kind of thing all the time huh?" he asked with a weak smile.

Chris looked at him and smiled.

"You'll get the hang of it. It is hard at first but you get used to it after a while." He said and looked at Jake. "One of the first things you need to know is how to control your powers, and I'm guessing you'll need a little help in that task." Chris said and looked at the glass in Jake's hands. After that he stayed quiet and looked at his baby brother, he hadn't realized that Jake had Piper's eyes. Suddenly Piper walked in.

"Hey!" She said looking at Jake then at Chris. "How are you feeling?" Piper looked at Jake and smiled then she sat down on the bed. "How does it feel to have your soul together in one body again?" Chris giggled.

Jake nodded slowly and smiled softly. "Yeah, I guess controlling the forces of the supernaturual isn't something that comes easy to me" he said with a soft smile, trying to sound a little cheerful though everything was going a bit crazy at the moment and some things just were not making sense, but he would push those thoughts to the back of his mind as he noticed Piper walking in.


Jake forced a smile when Piper came in and shrugged his shoulders at his question, but rolled his eyes at Chris's comment. "Yeah, being split into three was not my idea of a good time" he stated and took a sip of the water and sighed as the liquid ran down his throat. Much better.

"I bet it wasn't." Piper said and smiled at Jake. She stood up from bed and got a little dizzy and she lost her balance a little.

"Mom, are you OK?" Chris asked and went towards her.

"I'm fine, Chris." She looked at Jake and giggled.

"Are you sure? Because I can orb you downstairs or to the club." He said and Piper smiled.

"You worry to much, you know?" She said. "Don't you think he worries to much?" She said looking at Jake.

Jake watched the two in amusement, clearly Chris was a bit edgy when it came to Piper's well being, but he would not question it for now and he would just smile and grin at Piper's question and nodded his head and stuck his tongue playfully at Chris.


"Yep, he sounds more like your mother then your son, maybe it runs in the family" he teased as he sipped his water, ignroing the sore pain in his throat, after all, he didn't need them watching over him anymore, he had so many questions but he knew they probably could answer very few.
