This was posted on the IMDB boards: If you're familiar with Channel Awesome they are reviewers that include the likes of The Nostalgia Chick and Critic, Film Brain and Mike J. They do funny (yet in depth) reviews of movies. This one is by someone named Obscure Lupa. Not really familiar with her beyond some cameos in other people's videos but I am interested in all things Charmed and she is reviewing the series. Probably a new episode a week, that's usually their schedule. Just to warn you though, if you have no sense of humor about Charmed, you may want to skip this. But if you have a place in your heart that can enjoy Charmed even as someone rips into it: Enjoy! Season 1 review: blip.tv/OLPresents/charmedseason1finished-6527301 Season 2 review: blip.tv/OLPresents/charmedseason2finished-6536703 I'm throughly LOVING her hilarious reviews so far and absolutely can't wait for season 3 and beyond ;D

This woman actually thought Season 2 was an improvement over Season 1? And her attempts to be witty fall flat.

I'm actually a big fan of Lupa and Channel Awesome, but these reviews aren't her best.

Watching the Season 3 review got me a a bit defensive but I had to take myself out of being a huge Charmed fan to be unbias.
Fair review. It did make me realise a few things about the show. Given that I was about 13 when I watched Season 3 and I'm now 26 I can see her grown up analysis.
A bit critical about whitelighter's. Remembering that they were passive but powerful and the writers probably made the Elder's look like "Dicks" by refraining him to intervene / heal etc at times to make the it harder for the Charmed Ones to solve the issue of the week.
Piper did start to annoy me a bit after this Season. I agree that they were selfish. But these are Generation X siblings who are human and live in a materialist country who happen to have had their lives screwed over because of evil.... I think Phoebe and Piper deserve to be selfish.
A bit of a harsh review of All Hell Breaks Loose - I felt that she needed something to pick on because she hated the season 2 finale so much.
Season 4 was my favourite season so I'll get pretty defensive as I thought Season 3 was a great season.
I think that the critic forgets that this a fantasy genre show played on one of the smallest networks.
Charmed outperformed what it was initially intended to do. Critisism is welcomed but when credit is due.... Don't just broomstick sweep it under the rug???
Cheers, David

Mmh, nice way to see this season. She's right in case of Phoebe and all others too. Some good things had been established in two seasons before but then, all of a sudden, forgotten. I'd say it goes on this way, especially the great inconsistency.

I do believe some of her complaints are warranted, like the instance where Prue shot a man and then complained when Cole killed him.
Some of her complaints though can be on the nitpicky side. I'm glad she enjoyed the season though.

Who did Prue shoot again?
I stopped the review when she said the show set women back fifty years. Sorry but I could not remember them talking about guys a lot, they did do it but quite healthily. I also disliked how she said Charmed could make anything stupid. Too much blanket characterizations for me. I understand some proper criticism is warranted Charmed pissed me they way it was fumbled it had so much potential!!!!! I dislike ripping into things just for the sake of "reviewing" or criticism.

SEASON 4 finally:Part 1: blip.tv/OLPresents/charmedseason4part1-6568252 Part 2: blip.tv/OLPresents/charmedseason4part2-6568254 Part 3: blip.tv/OLPresents/charmedseason4part3-6568260 This has to be one of her best reviews yet. Apart from the many hilarious "sisterhood was part of the show until it became all about which outfit Phoebe would wear next," and "Grams you don’t stay long enough in the grave for them to mourn and move on,", I liked her acknowledging that the season might have had it’s problems, but Paige wasn’t one of them and she isn't just a replacement of Prue. And also the fact that Phoebe shows no remorse over losing her child just because Seer said it was never hers or Cole’s. And all other Phoebe's actions which actually made the Source of all Evil seemed nice. Can't wait for season 5!!

I just watched the second half of season 4 and i can't get over how much I missed this show.
The critic is very right in talking about how drastically Phoebe's character changes after the original Source is killed in C & D.
I feel like changing the order of the sisters was originally done well but the Fun Phoebs we all loved had grown up and become more selfish, which when discussing what she's been through, I can understand but Phoebe wouldve been better being the Baby of the show.
Piper was the oldest and middle, Phoebe was the youngest and Paige was the only child.
I would've really liked to have seen Phoebe maybe go through a depression or cared about how she lost a child (even though it wasn't really hers).
Becoming an advice columnist was a good idea, complementing her good advice, street smartness and her Psych degree. But why did she have to become a workaholic and suddenly a celebrity superstar. Its like they were trying to replace Prue's characters onto Phoebe. Prue had relationship and intimacy issues but Phoebe always saw the bigger picture, was sponteanous and actually cared about innocents and most importantly loved being a witch - unlike the other 3.
As for Paige - it really sucked how she stoped working as a social worker and became Phoebe and Pipers bitches. One thing I liked about Charmed was the strained relationships on the sister and how they disagreed so much because they were so different.
I would've liked to have seen Piper and Phoebe vs Paige - Paige (and Richard/Brody later on) actually moving out, disagreeing with Phoebe and Piper and wanting to do her own thing. This wouldve been an interesting dynamic and a strain on the Power of Three.
The show was originally about the sisters relationships with each other and their romantic lives came additionally.
Phoebe also always loved bad boys. It wouldve been interesting to see her help a drug addict or alcoholic, shoplifter etc and fall in love with them. Someone who knew martial arts but was mortal so that she didn't have to defend them.
And in 4x01 we hear of how Paige was a recovering Alcoholic... was why this never explored or looked at again? It would've made an interesting storyline on top of the rift with her half sisters.
Leo should not have become an Elder or an Avatar - they desroyed his character too. He always should have been a whitelighter. One thing I liked about Leo in Season 4 was how he liked to guide Paige and gave advice to Phoebe a lot - there was an interesting relationship there as a brother in law. Later, Leo just became obsessed about his sons.
Last bit of advice. This show was always about Girl Power. Wyatt should have been a girl and the Evil storyline was ridiculous. I didn't mind that Piper's second child was a boy - this was interesting but it was a shame that Season 6 was just an epic flop!
That's my wee rant for the week. Its a shame how the writers and show runner destroyed the Chacters and the concept of the show.

Oh boy, with this season review, I really feel bad for my favorite S6. At least, she didn't go that much on Chris right now since she'll have the whole S6 for it. lol Yet, I couldn't agree more.
