Season 2. I don't get why it's even hated. No arc or that love triangle. If anyone hates Season 2, it's usually due to the triangle, or even just Dan and Jenny. But that's what you'd change. It doesn't mean you think Season Five is underrated. Which season do you think fans dislike when it's actually a good season?

Oops, my mind went elsewhere at the end with talking about S5, I saw someone bring up something about S5 in another thread with changing stuff, I must have been thinking of that thread. Wrong thread Es! But my answer is still S2 as I started off with.

Season 2.
It has everything, apart from that love triangle. It is such a good season, more so than many that come after it.

Season 2, take out the love triangle and the season is fantastic. I literally love Phoebe to death in this season, she's my favorite sister throughout.

Then Season 3 could have started with a love interest for Phoebe and the focus could still be on the sisterhood?
I do like the romantic relationships, Especially Prue and Andy, early Phoebe and Cole and Paige and Henry and also to a lesser extent Piper and Leo.
Also in Season 2 if you gave Prue Levitation and then Phoebe Astral Projection at the beginning of Season 3.
And lastly to make it the perfect season, remove That Old Black Magic, Animal Pragmatism, and Be Careful Watch You Witch For being deleted, and the Four Houseman being a 2 hour season finale.

S2, the only thing bad was the love triangle, and how much I didn't like Piper in it. Otherwise, the rest of the season is great. Don't get the hate really.

Wouldn't that have been great. Don't know why, but Piper and Leo really brought out the worse in each other as the show progressed. I looked at the re-watch thread for 'Love Hurts' and how many members watching could see traces of the Piper we all hated in S5-S8 in that episode (and this was S1), excited to see it myself to see. I'll wonder how Piper would be if she was never the sister to have a series long romantic storyline, because that really was her whole character arc in the series. S1 was the only one she was single at certain points in the season. Makes me wonder if they forced Piper and Leo's arc so quickly. Like the two are already married in S3. Now, if Morality Bites never existed or Piper never saw her and Leo divorced with a daughter, would their storylines have gone a different direction or changed?

I've had time to reflect on which Season I find to be my favorite in the show. And after having debated between Seasons 2 & 3 honestly I'm going with Season 2. I think Season 2 doesn't get enough thought through. Out of all seasons it strikes the best balances with the best aspects of the show. The sisters bond are the strongest in the season, each of the sisters have their better episodes, the standalones are among the best of the show. Season 2 is proof that Charmed's strongsuit was standalone episodes. I just wish there was a big bad though, unless you count the four horseman?
Season 3 would be runner up for me though because I enjoyed the more action involved scenes and the fact potions were being used. I just thought the sisterhood took a step down, especially with Prue and Phoebe. Also Cole being an interesting concept in the show as well. Disclosing his relationship with Phoebe aside.

Do you think Season 7 got better because it was around the time of the writers strike? Had never even considered that, but you might be perfectly right since the new writers for S5-8 weren't as good as the earlier ones, especially if the strike meant that Kern didn't have anything to do with the show. Actually the writers strike was in 2008, so two years after Charmed ended. Talk first came about of a possible writers strike in 2000/2001. I know, because I read stories about for the whole year. Re-post my discussion with another member Katie about it again: Another what if to add to the list, alongside what if the writers strike of 2001 had gone ahead after all. Meaning Kern may not have gotten his chance to fire Shannen (the writers strike didn't go ahead and a deal was reached only a week I believe before Kern fired her), especially if they'd have written scripts in advance to plan around a possible writers strike like some shows at the time did, so they'd have scripts ready to film in the summer. I just don't see him firing her if it did go ahead in May 2001, as he'd have no scripts or any way to brainstorm new ideas for a new sister during the summer. I've never bought into the spins of 'Shannen was always meant to leave', especially since The WB would have wanted the writers (as most networks have to do to convince them to renew their shows for Upfronts in May) to pitch S4 ahead of Upfronts with the direction of the show, and I'm certain it was with Prue still part of the show. Since they were working S4 ideas with the threat of a writers strike possibly looming, and Shannen got fired not long after the strike was no longer going ahead when talks came to a solution, it's why I'll never believe anything the writers or stars say. I forgot all about the writers strike threat during 2001. The rumblings of a writers strike first came about in the fall of 2000, right as S3 was starting up. I wouldn't be surprised if Kern had already started plotting out S4 and getting scripts rushed out that early, just in case this happened. But your right The Crone, Last-minute negotiations had indefinitely shelved the strike in May 2001, right before Shannen was fired by Kern. Had a strike gone ahead, I don't think Shannen would have been fired, as he'd have to have used whatever original plans they had for S4 with Prue. It may have been too late for Kern to completely drop the plans he had already made for S4, then, which is something he should have done. Kern really should have thought about before he fired Shannen. Imagine if that writers strike DID happen in May 2001, Kern would likely not fire Shannen. Impossible to do so, if he'd have had to have a back-up plan with scripts and ideas written in advance. If the strike happened and he still fired her, the show might have been cancelled, as they'd have no scripts ready to film in the summer. The WB might not have allowed them to do so. Yeah, I find S2, gets such little love. I personally love it, you take out the love triangle with Piper/Leo/Dan and it's a pretty great season, and the sisters relationship and all three are so likeable (outside of Piper with her relationships she's great). But yeah, there is a lack of a major big bad and the season is more standalone. So I voted S2.

I'm surprised I didn't vote in this poll, yet. The 2 that I picked are the following:
S7 & S8

I've definitely changed my mind since. I'm coming to find there's a lot more hate directed at both S6 & S8, so I unchecked S7 and checked S6, instead. I left S8 checked. What saves S7 from being completely hated is Zankou. Otherwise, nobody really gives a flip about Gideon, for S6, so...

My opinion (from the last time I posted) has not changed.
I don't think I'll be removing my vote away from S6, anytime soon. As it's been unfairly dragged through the mud, these past couple of years and now that we're about to re-watch it, MAYBE my vote will change, but it depends on who's willingly to give it a chance (and different perspectives). We'll see. But, that's for sure a SOLID vote, from me.
Next would be S8. I don't think it's the WORST season (that belongs to S5). There's a lot more fun episodes in S8 than people give it credit for. HOWEVER, I will say that these boards do appreciate S8 more than Reddit, but I still think it's pretty underrated in comparison to other seasons (with the exception of S6).

Still S6 & S8. S6 doesn't get the credit that it deserves in acknowledging the PO3 theme, along with expanding the Charmed Universe with more MAGICAL witches vs "practicing" witches. See my Magical Witches vs Practicing Witches thread, for more details. S8 isn't as hated here, as it is elsewhere (like Reddit). But, I still don't think it gets the love that it deserves like having a companion MAGICAL witch, to tag along with the Charmed Ones, instead of just making her a "practicing one". Granted, it wasn't written too well but still, I appreciate the attempt.
