Like mrmilano's best written season thread. Thought might try the opposite and was inspired by that thread.
What do you think is the worst written season based both on individual episodes and the overall writing/story of the season being not that great?

Same here as well. Many things could have done better in these seasons.

Season 4 and Season 6 - it's because of how they're written that I don't like them. Other seasons I don't like because of what happened. But had these two seasons been written better - the Phoebe/Cole story and the Chris/Wyatt story - I'd love them. All I have to do is read P3Nathan's "Final Season" and Kalvana's "Future Consequences" to know that.

Season 6. I find this season SO frustrating, because it had the potential to be incredible, with some half decent writing, half the amount of filler episodes and more episodes that focused on the actual character of Chris and his history it could have been great. So much wasted potential. Season 8 was bad as well but there was no saving that one, but season 6, eurgh, it could have been so much better, the potential was there, the characters and stories were there, what wasn't there unfortunately were good writers.

Let's look at the facts: Season 5 was basically a throw away season, laden with last minute re-writes, departing characters, and questions about the future of the show and a main character (Leo). As such, because they couldn't have a long-lasting story that makes any sense, I'm willing to give them a pass on that season. It's brutal, yes, but it had things in the background that didn't help it. I'm willing to give season 8 the benefit of the doubt since it's sole purpose was to introduce Billie. Both terrible seasons, but the writing was only one of the issues. So that leaves 1,2,3,4,6 and 7.
1,2,3 and 7 are relatively okay in their writing. Episode misses, sure, and things that could have been written better, but generally, they served their overarching story, their serial plot, and their episode storyline well. Season 4 and season 6 are the seasons that had amazing potential each, but both missed in some form or another. In season 4, it was the quickness of the Cole/Source storyline and the out of nowhere dislike from Paige, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt in this season because they had lost Prue so the writers needed to rush things to set up Paige. It was still a miss in many respects, but I can understand it. That means season 6 is the winner of this thread.
Why? The Chris storyline felt forced due to Holly getting pregnant, and it seemingly changed who Chris exactly was week to week until Holly became pregnant. Gideon being the villain was novel and intriguing, but it was set up poorly. Some individual episodes were just awful, and the whole Leo as an Elder thing could have been handled better.

I wonder what they had planned if Holly wasn't pregnant with Chris. Also taking into account that Season 4 was altered heavy due to Shannen leaving and not wondering if season 5 would happen. If things flowed organically, we might have seen the Cole/Source storyline taking place in season 5, ending with Cole's death in the 100th episode (which I would of approved 100% over what we got with Cole in Season 5), and The Seer being the big bad for the rest of the season. This also might have delayed Piper's pregnancy to season 6, when Holly was pregnant. So YAY! Now I would like one time, make my own rundown and ideas on how I would of handled Season 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, taking into account all I have mentioned above.

At least Paige's introduction would come after the Source and Cole story had played out. Starting a new chapter and beginning I suppose, not throwing Paige into the middle of a major storyline. Something that is fun to play around with in a fanfiction?

For me dears that would be Season 4 and 6. More in the writing dears. I know so many have issues with Season 8, I just did not like what happened. I think Paige had the best storyarc in the final season though. I just felt the Phoebe/Cole and Chris/Wyatt stories dears could of been handled and written much better than they did.

Have to go with season 6 here. Season 5 is equally bad, but at least they didn't really have much of a season-long story so while the vast mojority of it's episodes are bad and forgettable, it loses to season 6. S6 was a mess, the story made no sense and it was very obvious that they had something else in mind but had to change plans.
I might be in the minority here but I don't mind the writing in season 4 at all. Is it rushed? Yes. Is it bad? Nope. Also I don't think Paige's distrust for Cole came out of nowhere, it began when she found out about Balthazor. That is enough build-up for me. Just my 2 cents.

My worst written in order:
6 - pretty much every episode is poorly written. 8 5 7 - season 4 and 7 are half-great written seasons 4 2 1 3 - pretty much ever episode of Season Three has good writing.
