Sure, that makes sense. I'm sure all of the Piper-fans enjoyed having all the attention on her and her family. Oh, I would've liked to have seen Phoebs (she died when she lied to Prue about vanquishing Belthazor, I mean Cole, and became PhoeME) at her reunion. Because you're right - no way she'd act that way at her reunion after what happened to Piper during hers. That was the biggest problem with so many different writers on Classic Charmed - they all saw the sisters differently and tended to forget what others had written. Or Kern or the actresses forgot what they were like (especially when Holly and Alyssa were busy turning Piper and Phoebe into idealized versions of themselves...) and didn't fix the scripts. I have to admit, I did enjoy the focus on Piper and her family. I especially liked the Wyatt and Chris episodes. I think one of my all time favorites is "Chris-Crossed". I would have also liked to see more of the other sisters and maybe some future episodes where we got to see glimpses of what their families "might be". I have always loved Phoebe (I really have always liked all the sisters, honestly) but I can see how her personality changed during the course of the seasons and she became more into herself. I never saw it years ago, but as I watch it now, I see it more. I think because I was/am a fan of Alyssa and Phoebe, I didn't want to "see" how the character had changed. I used to think people were being "mean" to Phoebe. Now I see what you mean. I did enjoy Julian McMahon on Charmed, but only at first. After a while, I thought that had run its course and he needed to leave. I loved when he came back during Drake's run (who shouldn't have EVER left! ) because he just looked good (lol) and of course, it was a Piper/Leo episode. I just do wish they had written that Phoebe-reunion episode better! You are right about the different writers! There are so many inconsistencies it drives all of us up the wall, I think! They needed to have some of the fans review the scripts first, and check for things like that. I think you may be right about the actresses forgetting what they were like, too. I can see changing some, as we all change through the years, but not as much as it happened sometimes. And since I hated Poor, Poor Pitiful Piper, I hated all of the attention on her family, and I especially hated Chris - "ChrisCrossed" is one of my least-favorite episodes. Truly, I didn't really want to see what Phoebe and Paige's families were like - I knew the kids would take attention away from the sisters, just like Wyatt and Chris did. I wanted one of the sisters to announce that she was pregnant during the very last episode with no flash-forwards - that would've been perfect for me. But different strokes for different folks! Oh, wouldn't that have been nice if they actually let a group of fans (find some who are Prue-fans (just for S1-3), some who are Piper-fans, some who are Phoebe-fans and some who are Paige-fans (just for S4-8) get a chance to read the rough draft of the coming episodes and use examples from earlier episodes to show how that sister very simply wouldn't act like tat. It would've been *so* nice!

I would've hated that! But you're right about the kids taking away from the sisters. I can see that's what Wyatt and Chris did, though I enjoyed them on the show, even Chris. I will say, Chris did get on my nerves sometimes, but I liked him overall. I can see how Piper got on your nerves, cause there were times where I thought she needed to go back to how she used to be. I liked her overall, I liked her "sassy" ways, but sometimes I missed her "old" ways. That would have been SO nice! There wouldn't have been the inconsistencies that happened throughout the years. Maybe have the earlier versions of the sisters all the way through the series.

I truly feel you have a more satisfying ending having a sister confirm a pregnancy in the last episode. Should have been Piper. How great that her journey and struggles lead to her getting what she dreamed and saw in Morality Bites. Once Piper got married and had children. It felt like her and Leo didn't have much left to explore.
Being a Charmed One impacting them wanting kids. Not wanting the danger that comes with demon attacks.
I truly wanted my pheebs throughout the series.

I think Piper and Leo married way too early dears. I don't know about others, but having a couple marry in the middle of a third season just felt extremely early to me. They should have paced their relationship more, I always found having them marry in S3 felt forced or just the pair didn't even reach that point in their relationship that it felt organic to me. It was just a solution to deal with the Elders and again influence by what happened in Morality Bites.
I'd *really* have loved if Piper had found out she was pregnant in the final episode of Charmed, with her being married perhaps a season or two earlier like Season 6.
But if Piper had kids and been married. I'd want one of the others to confirm they were pregnant in the final episode with no flash forwards.

With only one more episode left in our re-watch, I'm wondering what the rewatchers who will have finished S1 might say now. How their views have changed from a previous watch, and curious about the re-re-watch if it might change again. Although having distance between a re-watch helps.

Your right and I actually never voted in this thread I see. So I will do so when we finish the re-watch.

So having finished my re-watch of S1 with the board, I can say I still like it, so nothing has changed from when I voted on this a few years ago, and most likely won't change with the re-re-watch. So no need to alter my choice in the poll.

Nope, mine neither. I chose that I originally voted that I liked it and now I love it and even though some of the episodes scared me so I couldn't rank them as an A, I still love the season overall. Depending upon how I feel towards S2 during that re-watch, this might now be my favorite season of Classic Charmed.

I voted still loved it last time, and that is how I feel now. Will be interesting how I feel when we re-watch S2 in September/October.

Am watching Season 1 now and it breaks my heart knowing with Phoebe turns into later on in the series. We're doing a re-re-watch of S1 with the board currently, just finished 'Wicca Envy', you should join us, if you have the time rebooted. And same here, Phoebe is so SO much fun in S1, and the best part, I love her when she is written and the sisters like Connie and her sisters Edie and Laura. Her love for magic, and how passionate she is about saving innocents, is what I love, and her advise for her sisters too. It might be so hard to re-watch S4-S8 when we reach those in the board re-watch. How are you enjoying S1 so far?

I hear you watched them in production order too. I like re watching Charmed in bluray remastered. It is like watching it in a different way - appreciating the production of it rather than just the story line. And the actresses are all so beautiful in-side out. I love how Phoebe is the least powerful but the most fun! One episode I feel that is under rated is the Fourth Sister. One I think that is over rated is Love Hurts. The first few episodes have this 'sexual predator' feel to them which erks me, like in IGYUMSkin - how the ladies are tied down on the table and Dream Sorceror being inside their dreams being able to do anything to them. Even SWTWComes has that feel. Which makes me think that they bought the character Leo in to balance out the stigma that all magical men aren't evil. Love Hurts also has that vibe as well There could have been a bit more thought put in about the mythology esp with 'guardian angels' and warlocks vs. weird evil beings. I think they started to think about this more in the 2nd season. I do love Andy and his relationships with all the sisters, like a brother to Piper and Phoebe. Rex is pretty spunky too!

Yes, we are watching them in production order, and so much makes sense in this order given certain stories and Prue's correct age, her birthday happened before many episodes mention she is 27, when she turned 28 in 'Dead Man Dating'. I can imagine how much fun that is, a few of our watchers said they loved watching it in HD, seeing more details and such, and some of the effects look just as good as the reboot. Yeah, Love Hurts is pretty overrated. I found traces of the Piper I hated in it, and I think the only plot I loved was Phoebe and Prue switching powers, Maybe the power switching plot should have been used in 'Power of Two' instead. I LOVE Andy with the sisters, and him being a brother to them. I wished he stayed on the series though and didn't die.

I wish Max from Season 1's Secrets and Guys could have come back older in the later seasons as a good witch He does make a cameo in the comics, so it appears that Paul Ruditis who wrote and edited Season One of the comics agreed with you. I SO wish he was in charge of Charmed rather than Brad Kern!

It's too bad he wasn't brought back to be a student at magic school. We had an episode in S1 where Piper helped two former charges of Leo, when he was frozen. I don't get why dear, they didn't consider using that episode, for bringing back two former witches perhaps someone like Max or another witch Leo helped in the series. EDIT: Just looked up to see dear which episode it was, it was in Generation X, students Jen and Ryan who were tutored by their headmaster Leo Wyatt to battle demons. Piper helped them out. Yes, it could have been cool if Max was one of those students.

It could have used reoccuring innocence. Esp if some became whitelighters after they saved them. I wonder if the network even asked guest actors. They certainly did it with Barbus a lot though. I think Kern and him were pals.

I've always loved the first season, it's the only season I love. There isn't one episode I dislike, even when it's a cheesefest.

Will be interesting to finally have a chance to vote when I can look back at my first watch.
But I can say currently in my first time watching, that S1 is standing at I love it. Hopefully in my first re-watch one day, I can vote still love it.
