And, in regards to the characters missing Prue. This is 2 seasons passed her death. You really want them still crying over her death, in S6? NTY. IK in S5, Prue is still mentioned. I just don't think Prue's name needs to mentioned, constantly especially 2 seasons after her death. Now, I'll respond to rebooted The Season 6 storyline just wasn't well thought out and the introduction of Magic School was cringeworthy. Which "storyline" would that be? Chris' reason for coming from the future? How would you have like to see it done? And, in regards to Magic School (which I mentioned, already, towards Es), I understand has its issues. I wouldn't have minded it if it was a new invention, rather than breaking the continuity by being around for (at least) 20 years (according to S7E8 "Charmed Noir's" lore, but I digress). Just thought I would comment on the first point above. To be honest with you - the only reason I stayed watching past Season 4 and 5 is for a slight name drop or reference to Prue or having hope that she would come back in some capacity. Chris's identity revealed from 6x01 to the sisters so that they could actually have a relationship. More cousins coming from the future to help him with his mission that still could be kept secret from the sisters. It would have been better seeing the sisters as mothers with their grown up children rather than the focus just being on babies! Perhaps realizing that the events that changed in Cat House with the wedding topper crushed caused a ripple 'butterfly' effect that turned Wyatt evil? Maybe the storyline only lasting half a season with Chris realizing the future can't be changed? Leo returning for good or leaving for good - making up his mind and the only legitimate storyline I feel that was interesting remaining - Chris's anger to Leo and actions in 5x23 being due to his absenteeism due to becoming an elder - a similar storyline to Prue's anger toward her father. With Magic school - it could have been called 'The Academy' or something that was different from Harry Potter. There could have been a breed of witch that was more academic and scientific vs. those that were more warrior types? It exists in a portal in a library perhaps? JUST BE ORIGINAL! After Phoebe ends things with Jason - she focuses on her relationship with her future daughter? Phoebe learns Astral Projection on cue rather than getting empathy? And Paige meeting her kid in the finale? Paige becoming their whitelighter and learning how to heal by the end of Season 6. I also didn't mind Richard - I thought that was a cool storyline. Learning that Daryls kid is married to Phoebe's maybe in the future? I don't know - there were so many opportunities. However, if 5x23 didn't suck so much - maybe it would have been a better foundation to Season 6.

It's fun to think about their first experience as mothers being to adults who are almost their same ages. The baby stuff is all very predictable and so overdone in a lot of shows, so I wouldn't miss it. "Magic School" is a very basic name. With creativity like that, Charmed might as well have been called Witch Show or something similar. I really like your idea of Darryl and Phoebe's children one day getting married. That's a nice way to tie Darryl and Phoebe together. Poor Darryl would be stuck with magic for the rest of his life!

I am watching the last half of Season 6 at the moment.
I am enjoying it more than I though.
Haven't reached the finale yet but enjoyed parts of Witch Wars, Wrong Day, Courtship, some parts of Crimes and Witch Demoanors
Spin City is one that I like more than I remember. I Dream of Phoebe also is cool.

I liked it the first time I saw it and after a few rewatches, I still like it.
I adore the dark future storyline and Wyatt becoming the big bad in the future. It is wild.
I adored Paige and Richard but they did this relationship and Richard really dirty.

I'm still in utter disbelief that S6 is classified in these polls as a horrible and unwatchable season, when that's not what these watches and general attitude reads. Perhaps, a refresher has helped, but we'll see.
Again, in no way is S6 better than the Prue Era. For the Paige Era, it's a pretty solid season for fun, episodes with direction (unlike S5) and a different dynamic and energy at the manor.
Then again, many accounts are no longer active here. But, there's still a small group of us hanging around that don't really reflect this poll LOL

This isn't a comparison between 6 against 1-3. Be great for those of us who make it the end of the S6 re-watch in the next three months to revisit this thread. And there's currently at least 15 watchers with the S6 re-watch across multiple watch days.

Season 6 is when I stopped watching Charmed during it's original run on TV. The show was just not the same w/ out Shannen/Prue, & the way Prue was just erased from the show didn't feel right at all, & that didn't benefit the show - I'll never stop saying that.
The show had long lost it's way by this point, no longer a show abt SISTERS who happened to be witches. By season 6, the sisters spent more time being turned into all manner of characters/creatures (but they were supposed to be witches??) The charmed ones became almost unrecognizable as far as their dispositions & attitudes, Piper being especially mean, short tempered & crabby. pHOEbe's haircut was awful, & her gaining "empathy" as a power & that power basically being a Deus ex machina, allowing her to be overpowered was also irritating to me. pHOEbe was ALWAYS my least favorite sister/character on the show, & the way she was behaving during season 6, This would have been the perfect season for her Morality Bites fate to come to fruition because that's where she was headed. The sisters as a group were dreadful to Chris too. One positive abt season six was Paige. Paige was really involved in the community and saving innocents, but Paige & pHOEbe killing Rick was a huge mistake. By the end of season 6, I was done w/ Charmed, & I skipped season 7 & the first half of season 8 during its original run.

Season 6 is when I stopped watching Charmed during it's original run on TV. The show was just not the same w/ out Shannen/Prue, & the way Prue was just erased from the show didn't feel right at all, & that didn't benefit the show - I'll never stop saying that. I still don't feel like Prue was ever erased from the show. If Shannen had allowed the use of her imagery, I think the show would've been able to have the audience look at some pictures, of her. I think Shannen erased herself, from the show, not Kern. Kern's too short-sighted to really think that far ahead and tried his best with his lackluster skillset, to keep Prue in remembrance, in alignment with not being able to use her imagery. I've seen this other show, where they did have pictures, to one of the leading characters who left. Made sure to have some pictures, lying around. But, because Shannen was extremely petty about it (as in didn't want the show "using her likeness" which isn't a law, but I digress), it was hard for an uncreative and unimaginative producer (like Kern) to really put her into the show. So, all he could do is drop in a name or two, throughout the show. The show had long lost it's way by this point, no longer a show abt SISTERS who happened to be witches. I keep seeing this, and I just don't see it. Especially, if you look back at S1, and how the "Let's Be Clear" Podcast prompts up Shannen as "the star" of Charmed. I don't see how the show can be about "three sisters who happened to be witches", but (also) only having one sister (in this case, Shannen/Prue) being "the star". I never felt like this show was about "sisterhood", at all. Just "good vs evil" & "girl power" like a S3-S5 writer (Krista Vernoff) said in her exit interview. I'll admit, S1-S2 is more "sisterly", in terms of seeing hugs & cuddles. While, the later seasons focused more on random "sisterly" conversations thrown in, while they battle demons. Otherwise, one sister (mostly, Phoebe & Piper 'cause their respective actors were producers, in the later seasons) was usually "the star": S1 - Prue S2 - Piper S3 - Phoebe S4a - Paige S4b - Phoebe S5a - Phoebe S5b - Piper S6a - Phoebe S6b - Piper S7a - Paige/Phoebe S7b - Piper S8a - Phoebe S8b - Piper/Paige By season 6, the sisters spent more time being turned into all manner of characters/creatures (but they were supposed to be witches??) S1E12 "The Wendigo" had Piper turn into a Wendigo. S2E5 "She's a Man, Baby, a Man!" had Prue turn into a man (also, says that the Succubus was a former witch turned evil), S2E9 "Ms. Hellfire" Prue had to "play" the Hellfire character. S3E3 "Once Upon a Time" had both Phoebe & Prue behaving like children with the fairy dust, S3E4 "All Halliwell's Eve" they were not only in costumes but (also) had to blend into their environment, S3E21 "Look Who's Barking" transformed Prue into a dog & Phoebe into a Banshee (like the S2E5 "She's a Man, Baby, a Man" Succubus, Banshees are prior Witches), etc. Doesn't seem like "being a witch" makes you immune to being "transformed" into something else. It's a show about magic! Nothing is really impossible in the world of magic. The charmed ones became almost unrecognizable as far as their dispositions & attitudes, Piper being especially mean, short tempered & crabby. I actually noticed how crabby and mean S1 Piper really was. So, I guess her crabbier S2 persona shouldn't be too much of a shocker. S3 Piper is my favorite Piper. Then, in S4 she goes back to being crabby (but for good reason), and it just continues, that I'm used it. S6 Piper is better than S2 Piper, though. pHOEbe's haircut was awful I don't see what Phoebe's haircut has to do with anything...if she had that same haircut back in S1, I don't think the attack on her hair would've made a difference. her gaining "empathy" as a power & that power basically being a Deus ex machina, allowing her to be overpowered was also irritating to me. It is true, the way they worked her Empathy power. I think they realized it and quickly took it away in the same season (S6E19 "Crimes & Witch Demeanors"). But, if it was used appropriately like in S6E14 "The Legend of Sleepy Halliwell" it would've made more sense and work with her premonition power in having clear Insight. pHOEbe was ALWAYS my least favorite sister/character on the show I noticed your particular spelling of her name. Is it ALL of Phoebe from S1-S8, or from a particular starting point, where you feel like she was a "pHOEbe"? 'Cause there are certain individuals who only like her in S1-S2 or in S1-S4.If it's the WHOLE time, I'd be interested to hear your critiques on that, in the earlier seasons 'cause right now, you're just talking about S6. the way she was behaving during season 6, This would have been the perfect season for her Morality Bites fate to come to fruition because that's where she was headed. I really don't see it. The only time our re-watch group gave Phoebe a hard time, at all, in S6 is in the S6 premiere. Go figure, a Kern episode. The sisters as a group were dreadful to Chris too. I would be, too, after all the lies he's pulled and shady things he's done. By Chris not telling the Charmed Ones the complete truth about the Titans going after the Elders (in S5E22-23 "Oh My Goddess, Pt 1 & 2"), they were (rightfully) angry with his discernment. In the S6 premiere, they then find out he can't heal. He lied about who was in S6E10 "Chris-Crossed". He tricks them, again, in S6E12 "Prince Charmed" by coercing them to bind Wyatt's power, through Mr. Right, he has some demon near Wyatt in S6E14 "The Legend of Sleepy Halliwell", etc., it's hard to trust Chris, when he's constantly pulling stunts, that they're concerned with hurting innocent people, in the long run, by simply taking Chris' words for it. One positive abt season six was Paige. Paige was really involved in the community and saving innocents IDK, the way she was behaving in S6E10 "Chris-Crossed" indicated she couldn't care less about Chris' problems and just wanted to be with Richard and even got angry with Phoebe (in S6E5 "Love's a Witch") for wanting to be involved in whatever situation Paige was dealing with. If anything, Paige was being the "anti-sister" one, here, while Phoebe was being the "sisterly" one. Paige & pHOEbe killing Rick was a huge mistake. See, I disagree with that. I don't feel like they had any other choice. If Piper was in the scene, however I'd be singing a different tune. Like, Paige says a line to PURPOSEFULLY keep Piper out of the scene. I guess that's what the writers wanted 'cause they knew Piper would just freeze the situation and play out this utopian scene that other fans who have your take want. I don't see it happening with Paige just orbing the gun away from Rick. Phoebe tried that (not orbing it away but taking it out of his hands and trying to pin him down), earlier, when her and Rick were fighting in the street, and Phoebe lost, despite being the Martial Artist. By the end of season 6, I was done w/ Charmed, & I skipped season 7 & the first half of season 8 during its original run. Well, lots of folks think S7 is better than S6 which sure...but, it's hard to find S8 fans. You'll find more S8 fans here than the likes of Reddit. In regards to storylines, even if I were to hate the sisters, S6 has better mythology/story going on than S5.

Changed my mind to "Liked it to Dislike".
IKR? If I "dislike it", why is S6 STILL above S5 & S7-S8? It's no secret I've been changing my mind, recently mostly because I'm obsessed with power balance, ATM, and S6 is that.
What I dislike about it is it underutilized Phoebe's premonitions. I'm looking at quite a bit of S6 episodes, where I'm thinking she could've had a premonition, like in the following:
S6E5 "Love's a Witch" S6E6 "My Three Witches" S6E7 "Soul Survivor" S6E8 "Sword & the City" S6E9 "Little Monsters" S6E10 "Chris-Crossed" S6E11 "Witchstock" S6E14 "The Legend of Sleepy Halliwell" S6E16 "The Courtship of Wyatt's Father" S6E17 "Hyde School Reunion" S6E18 "Spin City"
Before, it gets taken away from her, in S6E19 "Crimes & Witch Demeanors". I understand it was to pave the way for her new Empathy power, but her new Empathy power was hardly used in any meaningful way. The only times (objectively and not an opinion) where her Empathy seemed useful, at all is in the following:
S6E7 "Soul Survivor" S6E10 "Chris-Crossed' S6E13 "Used Karma" S6E14 "The Legend of Sleepy Halliwell"
With S6E14 "The Legend of Sleepy Halliwell" being my (personal) preferred method, as it acted similarly to her premonition power. Other than that, this season (also) lacks "Protect/Save the Innocent(s)" type of episodes. Again, not an opinion but a fact, and it's disheartening. What I will say is this season will always be nostalgic, for me. I do find some joy in it. Even if it isn't the same as its earlier counterparts.
Whenever I'm doing my spreadsheets, this season hardly makes the cut, and it's sad to see because the story of the episodes, in the season are quite interesting. But, they don't utilize our leading ladies too well.
So, I'm a little upset with this season, right now and understand the hatred it receives. All and all, maybe (just a guess) it is last in some people's lists for how disappointing it is, compared to other seasons (mostly S5 & S7). S6 is still objectively (not subjectively) better than S8. But because S8 has such a low bar of expectation compared to S6 is why I think (maybe) S8 surpasses S6. S6 seemed to be promising but in the end just didn't achieve what it promised/what it laid out.

S6 is a mixed bag. Good ideas with unfulfilled potential.
The moving out story arc was a complete waste of time.
I used to be a massive Chris fan. But he's starting to be underwhelming now.
I don't think Chris' character served as much purpose as I thought he did originally. Outside of Chris Crossed and Spin City. He's really just there to reinforce the mystery and arc of saving Wyatt. But what's he really contributing other than simply being Piper and Leo's son. Yes he's there to help with saving Wyatt, but I honestly think he could've just returned to the future say in Chris Crossed and nothing changes apart from Leo's character arc in the back end of S6 and maybe his meddling in Prince Charmed and Spin City. A hot take I know. But has been on my mind.
He seems to service Leo's arc and character and moving Leo's character forward with the development he gets in S6. Half the time in episodes he pops in to remind us they have to find who turns Wyatt evil and if it wasn't for him being Piper and Leo's son, he isn't adding nothing really other than mystery and intrig on this bad dark future that we viewers never see. Again another big let-down.
I can see why Brian's screentime and role increased. Wasn't Brian nearly going to leave after S5 and he resigned last minute or something. I guess he the character development and getting to kick ass like the actresses after not getting to do so for years.
The highlights: *Very cool concepts and episodes like Loves a Witch, Soul Survivor, Little Monsters and Legend of Sleepy Halliwell. *Paige's Temp Jobs. *Seeing Piper's character not attached at the hip to Leo. *The cool sisterly moments in many episodes. *Magic School isn't bad if they just made it clear it was around before or had been closed years before and only recently reopened. *Richard and Gideon were interesting. *Darryl got a bit more to do than being sidelined since S2. Though still not enough.

I just had to vent out my frustrations on the season, especially since the back-end of S6 is pretty weak. I still think the middle holds up so well.

I voted still like it. I can't vote love it, because I like the earlier ones more to vote love it. I just don't think the season starts or ends well. But some good fun episodes.

Was wondering if there was a youtube clip or a summary video of Season 6? Would just help me in my rewatch if Season 6 could be consolidated into an hour long video perhaps.

IDK about a video, but IK this board just got done with a S6 re-watch, so you can probably just browse through some of the threads. Hopefully, summerreading will post the S6 grades, in the Grade Averages thread, soon. Just from me scoping out briefly, the following S6 episodes were ranked the "highest", as in, these episodes received a "B-" grade or higher, from those who gave grades (and, the S6 re-watch roster averaged around 12-15 people): S6E5 "Love's a Witch" S6E7 "Soul Survivor" S6E9 "Little Monsters" S6E14 "The Legend of Sleepy Halliwell" S6E16 "The Courtship of Wyatt's Father" Not a single one of those episodes received a "C+" or lower, from anyone who gave grades.
The following S6 episodes received the lowest grades via "D+" or lower (with not a single person giving a "C-" or higher): S6E2 "Valhalley of the Dolls, Pt 2" S6E19 "Crimes & Witch Demeanors" S6E20 "A Wrong Day's Journey Into Right" S6E21 "Witch Wars" The most "controversial" episode, as in received a mixed of grades (either 3-4 different grades), is S6E15 "I Dream of Phoebe". That episode is all over the place with its grades. It ranges from "A-" to "D". No "F", though. Though, the one episode to receive the most "Fs", in S6, is S6E19 "Crimes & Witch Demeanors" with 3 "Fs".
For once, I agree with the group LOL What is the best is the best, and what's the worst is the worst. Hoped this helped!

Was wondering if there was a youtube clip or a summary video of Season 6? Would just help me in my rewatch if Season 6 could be consolidated into an hour long video perhaps.
