After the discussion's we had dears in a thread on the books. I decided it would be fun to talk about which books we liked of Charmed?
Also any books you wished were made into an actual episode and replaced an existing episode dear?

My answers were:
The Power of Three Just like the first episode, only with a few extra scenes here and there. When I first read this book, it was stormy outside, and set the mood perfectly.
Whispers from the Past A nice tie-in to their ancestors, and a great show of sisterly bonding.
Voodoo Moon The author clearly did their research on voodoo and New Orleans. The Charmed Ones on vacation is always fun to read about.
Soul of the Bride Creepy story tying in Hades and other mythological ideas and beings.
Beware What You Wish Perfect story that reinforces the title of the book.
Spirit of the Wolf I liked the Charmed Ones once again out of their element, only this time in the wilderness. The story ties in to a culture different from theirs, and once again, it seems authentic.
Garden of Evil A good story of Paige and a great way for Piper and Phoebe to bond with their new sister.
Dark Vengeance This story is just cool. It pulls together past lives, the sisters' ancestry, and is a close-up look at magical powers and an ancient battle that is eons in the making.
Something Wiccan This Way Comes I've always loved this one because the author wrote Paige and Piper to be closer than we saw on the show, although not unrealistically so. And it's set in Las Vegas, which is a ton of fun.
Between Worlds A Halloween-themed story that incorporates holidays like All Souls' Day and delves into loss and grief and healing.
Seasons of the Witch A great collection of three stories, each featuring one sister primarily, that follow the guidelines of the Wiccan holiday they fall on. Some very nice scenes and a great look into facts about Wiccan traditions.
The Warren Witches A collection of eight or so shorter stories that have strong tie-ins to the Warren line. Most stories center around Piper, Phoebe, and Paige, but you even get some of a young Patty. Really beautiful.
As for books that I wish had been made into episodes, I think Whispers from the Past, Beware What You Wish, Dark Vengeance, Between Worlds, and the short stories of Seasons of the Witch and The Warren Witches would have been the best when translated to TV format. Some of these books could even be made into movies that were twice as long as a normal episode.

The only Charmed books I've read are Mirror Image and Charmed Again. I liked Mirror Image better with the sisters wondering if Paige was really their sister or someone out to destroy the Power of Three.
I've only read the preview of War on Witches since unfortunately it's not available in my region, but I was instantly hooked by the first chapter.

I only have "Leo Rising" and "Trickery Treat". They were good and easily to read. Had my fun with them. I recommend them clearly.

Seeing as we have had suggestions for a book club. Perhaps we could use this thread for deciding which books to use for our book club - or we can just go ahead and create a new thread dears. In addition to letting people still continue to vote and say which ones they like in here.

I like to get my hands on those. Has anyone read charmed again. I heard it's quite different in places from the episode.

I know The Power of Three based on the first episode is very different and adds stuff to it. From memory I know they mention more on Cole escaping the underworld, or they had a scene with a bounty hunter going after him and reporting to The Source. Also more on Paige's introduction. I think more on Paige talking to her uncle on the phone.

LOL Charmed did some really great novels. Some of which I really wished were actually episodes. Paul Ruditis from the comics wrote a number of novels too and even was apart of those Book of Three companion guides for Charmed, I think? Maybe they might release a brand new guide book next year to celebrate Charmed 20th, with new content and interviews and including Shannen. Putting the whole series into one book. But if we get a new Charmed series or project, maybe hold off on this book until that finished.

The new project - if it happens - would end up wanting a book of their own later on. But this, especially if it includes the novels and the comics - would be a great way to celebrate the anniversary.

Oh, I love the idea of new book to celebrate the Charmed Anniversary dears. *Especially* if we get to hear from some of the old writing crew from Charmed and of course Shannen.

I have heard that they are launching a Buffy spin-off in novel format, it would be great if they did something like that for Charmed, I'd definitely read it.

I've only read a few of them but the one I read the most of was The Legacy of Merlin. However, I want to read the one where they show glimpses of what if Paige grew up with her sisters.

I remember reading Kiss of Darkness, Whispers From the Past, The Legacy of Merlin, Hurricane Hex, High Spirits and Mystic Knoll and like these books. I haven't read them in a long time though. We had so many books where the sisters went on vacation they could have turned them into Summer television specials. I think the show Sabrina did a few summer movies.

I have all of them and guessing my favorites was HARD, but these are the ones that I find myself constantly rereading, so they must be my favorites (just in order that they're listed above):
The Power of Three - I LOVE novelizations and this one is *so* good!
Whispers From the Past - I *so* wish we could've seen something like this one in the series!
Soul of the Bride - love the idea of Prue finding a camera that captures innocents' souls and that the Charmed Ones have to rescue them, an idea I wish they'd used on the show.
(weird that even though the original Po3 is my favorite, these are the only ones that are favorites with them. But I think that's because I like the way they're written on the show, as compared to the second Po3 where I prefer how they're written in the books - and fanfics!)
Charmed Again - Again, I LOVE novelizations and I love how this one shows what we weren't able to see.
Dark Vengeance - even though I hate Paige being the Power of One with her being able to do things with her power that she could never do on the show, I love this Po3 vs. an evil Po3 who *aren't* demons or related! I especially love how each one of the evil Po3 infiltrates the life of one of our Po3.
Mist and Stone - This is the most recent one that I've reread and I love that I find something different about it each time, figuring how wonderfully the author put the entire mystery together. The idea that maybe Paige and Leo will die and maybe not...*shudder*
Truth and Consequences - I *so* wish Phoebe and Cole's story had been written this way!
Seasons of the Witch - I loved this chance to get to know more about Wicca - wish we'd seen more of this on the show, and hope they do more like this on the reboot (when and if), although I doubt it. But I think if it was done on Netflix, it could go more into something like this.
The Brewing Storm - My first Paul Ruditis novel and when I fell in love with his idea of how the sisters should be written. I particularly love how he lets Darryl play a huge part and also how each sister has an innocent to protect.
As Puck Would Have It - Another Paul Ruditis novel (warning, this may get boring, but I so love the way he writes Charmed!) - Even if Puck is a bit too Dobyish, especially when Harry Potter is also mentioned, I found him a fun character and can't help wondering if Doby was based on Puck from Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer's Night Dream'.
(Although not listed, I HAVE to include 'Charmed, Season 9' Volume 1-3 since they *were* published as books, even if they're comics and not prose, but if you HAVE to accept the flash-forward in 'Forever Crap', I mean 'Forever Piper', I mean 'Forever Charmed' as real (which I don't), this is my head canon for what happens next.)
The War on Witches - DITTO!!!
Let Gorgons be Gorgons - My all-time favorite Charmed novel and one I *really* wish had been done as an episode! I was *so* disappointed when Pat Shand took over both the comics and the eBooks, but so glad that he got away with just one eBook, unlike Paul!

Looks like the Paige Years of novels had better stories, I guess without Kern they didn't have his influence and the writers of these novels did a better job with them. I'm going to have to find some of the ones I don't have. Thanks Es for these reviews.

Hope that makes sense. Other fans will, of course, feel differently. I hope you can still find some of these! The last two are just ebooks so you have to get them that way.

Too bad most of the novel writers were not on Charmed.
