I've been checking this site called Season Zero which normally reports on pilots in development. [http://season-zero.com/development-board/networks/the-cw/] They updated it today to add Madeleine Mantock to the cast.
But one person Sterling Beaumon has been added to the cast too today.
I checked his twitter and both he and Sarah Jaffer are following each other on Twitter. Sarah started following him in addition to many other cast members around the same time. So I guess both of them screen tested together.
Could Sterling Beaumon be playing Brian, and we'll hear about this very soon? He's 22 years old and about Sarah's age, so it may be true.
If that is the case, looks like we only have Mel's girlfriend left.

I like the casting so far for this show. I feel the opposite for the Roswell reboot though.

So the actor Sterling Beaumon may have been cast already as Brian? Guess we'll find out tomorrow.
I looked at that season zero site, I see they have ordered nine shows to pilot for The CW. That's more pilots than the previous year I see. I guess hearing The CW is bringing back Sundays, means they can afford too.
But I see at least five of the nine pilots ordered are all Fantasy dramas. None of those shows look that interesting to me. So they are rebooting Roswell too. Never seen the original because it was a teen drama.

Berlanti's football drama will film in LA. Only those 2 won't film in Vancouver. That Sterling Beaumon fits CW's usual pretty casting type. Charmed, Wayward Sisters and Dead Inside = fantasy/supernatural Roswell and The End of the World as we Know it = sci fi Spencer = football teen drama Skinny Dip = revenge soap drama In the Dark and Playing Dead = prestige play shows and dark comedy

You summed it up perfectly. Well at least this Roswell reboot is actually filming in the best location possible for the show. I don't think The CW will pick up so many shows with similar genre's, they might go for an even spread across all the different genre's they have with pilots. Maybe the Charmed reboot doesn't get picked up over this Wayward Sisters series? But I see one is a CBS production and the other is a WB production, so maybe it doesn't matter.

I think CW will pick up six pilots. 3 WB productions and 3 CBS productions. The pilots are up against pilots in the same production studio. Here the groupings. WB: Wayward Sisters, Dead Inside, The End of the World as We Know it, Roswell and Spencer CBS: Charmed, Skinny Dip, In the Dark and Playing Dead Charmed is the strongest in the CBS group so it is a likely order unless the pilot turns out really bad. On CW this can happen as I remember Marc Cherry's pilot turned to be dreadful and the Pres. of CW hated it. The WB group has prominent CW producers against each other from Rob Thomas, Plec up to Berlanti. The competition is really tough for this group. Last year they picked 4 out 6 pilots. 2WB and 2 CBS. Black Lightning and Life Sentence for WB. Dynasty and Valor for CBS. Usually it's as you say. One genre show (SFX heavy show) + cheaper show picked per studio. For WB, I expect 2 supernatural/scifi show + Spencer. For CBS, I expect Charmed + whichever CBS pilot turned out great/okay. Though I only see one of the prestige shows getting ordered.

I feel like the first season is going to be Something Wicca This Way Comes from start to middle and possibly the end of the season.
From the description below, don't you think that it has the same premise as the original Charmed episode. In SWTWComes, we don't know who the 'witch hunter' is... Andy, Daryl, Roger, Chef Moore, Jeremy or even a random stranger. When I read the below, I can see the sisters trusting someone like:
Harry - the college professor and the sisters whitelighter (Rupert Evans) Galvin - Macy's (the eldests' boyfriend and aspiring film-maker (Ser'Darius Blain) Soo Jin - Mel's girlfriend Brian - Madison's sensitive loner ex-beau.
Who would be set up to be the big bad that either get's vanquished or corrupted like Cole, hiding in plain sight a little like a Scream/I Know What You Did Last Summer feel.
Question is whether the audience knows or starts off knowing who the evil person is or whether we find out when the sisters do...
On February 7, 2018, TVLine revealed the reboot's casting breakdowns, with the three sisters bearing the names of Macy, Mel and Madison Pruitt.[231] The eldest sister Macy is a "practical, driven, and brilliant geneticist" with the power of telekinesis.[231][229] The second-eldest Mel is "a passionate, outspoken activist" and lesbian with the power of time-freezing,[232] while the youngest Madison is "a bubbly college freshman" with the power to hear people's thoughts.[231][233] Madeleine Mantock has been cast as Macy,[234] Melonie Diaz has been cast as Mel,[232] and Sarah Jeffery has been cast as Madison.[233] Rupert Evans will play college professor and the trio's whitelighter Harry,[235] while Ser'Darius Blain will play Macy's "aspiring filmmaker" boyfriend Galvin.[236] Casting is also underway for Mel's detective girlfriend Soo Jin, and Madison's "sensitive loner ex-beau" Brian.[231] The pilot will be filmed in Vancouver, Canada from March 19 to April 4, 2018.
What do you think?

The discovery of their powers sounds like the beginning since like the Halliwells, the Pruitts don't know about their powers, but I still think it will quickly hop to S4-8. The major difference is when Phoebe returns she already has a lot of history with Prue and Piper. Like Paige, Macy has no history with Mel and Madison. Also the Pruitts have just suffered a loss. In SWTWC, Grams died a while ago - that's why they had 'PreWitched' - while the Pruitts have just had a loss, their mother, the way the Halliwells just had a loss, Prue, who was like their mother.
Brian could end up being a Jeremy-character (revealed right away as evil and the sisters' first demon and killed right away) or a Cole-character (evil who has fallen for Madison) or an Andy-character (although I doubt it since that's my guess as to the role Soo Jin will be since I think the CW wants to cash in on the idea of them being lesbians, which means the Andy-character won't die at the end of Season One).
We'll see.
IF I'm right, I just wonder IF they'll jump to S4-8 during the pilot or that will be left for the series. It could seem like a totally different series if that's the case, the way S3-8 was so different from S1-2.

I think dears at least one of the supporting cast will be bad. Unlike Classic Charmed which had five regulars in S1, this one has seven or maybe not and one of them doesn't survive long enough. And I sure hope they won't pair all three with someone at the beginning.
I can see Mel and Soo Jin being the leading couple in the show. So like Es said The CW cashes in on the idea of them being lesbians, so Soo Jin will be our Andy who doesn't die.
Guess we shall have to wait and see.

I don't know if it's the place to say this : One of my twitter friend got harassed and insulted in private by the creator of #STOPCHARMEDREBOOT (He has two accounts (and probably more)@rebootstop and adam_viscovich) She never once tweeted to him or about the reboot except this tweet and that's the insults he sent to her You can be a supporter of #STOPCHARMEDREBOOT but the "chief" of it is really unstable and going to far...That's why I decided to warn you about this individual.

Another thing people are forgetting that season already somewhat has a story/season arc since in some of the audition tapes they're talking about The Apocalypse and one seal already being broken. Maybe they'll have to fight Lilith or something. Or maybe there is a sleeper agent among them.

It's funny because I swear I remember reading about the 2017 Charmed reboot on this site last year before official sources confirmed it after. We'll see what happens when sources come out. I must have forgotten about that in the audition tapes. That makes it feel like this show is going to have a bit of a darker feel to it. Because the only show I remember that dealt with an Apocalypse and one seal being broken in the past was Supernatural right? Charmed attempted to deal with an Apocalypse in Season 2 with the horsemen. So maybe the overall arc is leading towards a big battle the sisters will face later. But breaking seals implies they would need to be broken all over the country, and not just near the college town they live in. Unless they plan to use some version of the Nexus, with each of the points being one seal to be broken?

So will Macy be involved before the mother's death? These descriptions are confusing because it makes it seem like the sisters are all together already.
Also, stop talking about "fighting the patriarchy." It sounds stupid. This is a show about magic and witches and demons. You're trying too hard and it makes me roll my eyes so hard.

These outlines are very confusing. Now the sisters are all together already?. Seems none of these media outlets reporting can get the facts straight.
I don't like any of the marketing and using the words fighting the patriarchy doesn't help.

I remember there was one season where only one pilot was ordered then they had to dig up other sister networks dead pilots to have a show for Fall.

Will the reboot also be Wicca based? Like focused on witchcraft? Or do they also live in a magical community?
I wonder if the authenticity to witchcraft or at least a respect for it like the Craft and Practical Magic showcased will be considered.
